Mounjaroday · 12/10/2025 19:08

Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Perfectly understandable and not pathetic at all tbh. I was super nervous before I started too.

There should be a Feb 2026 starters thread somewhere - join that if you find it (or start one if there’s not!). Being in the same boat with other people who began WLI at the same time can be a huge support.

(Feel free to hang around here too if you like though. Fair warning: as we’re a year on, we’re a bit less active than we were at the start is all. Too busy choosing what to wear and living our new lives!).

Thank you for being so kind and encouraging.

Mounjaroday · 24/02/2026 09:01

Warriors I had a small panic.

Got back from a few days away: was up to 73.4kg = overweight!! Nooooooo!!

Weighed again this morning and I’m back down to 69.4kg. Massive relief. Assuming I was retaining a lot of water?! I had enjoyed a lot of delicious salty food and had more wine than usual on holiday.

Still aiming for 65kg ultimately but it does feel a bit challenging right now with my training wheels off (no MJ!) 😬

OP posts:
SpiralSister · 24/02/2026 10:59

I’m glad the panic is over! I do think a few days indulgence does absolutely nothing in the long run, don’t you? It’s when, pre- MJ, you go ‘oh fuck it’ and it becomes several years worth of indulgence, in my case 😂

Keep on keeping on!!

SpiralSister · 24/02/2026 11:05

Btw, do you remember you used to post what we’d lost in animal/object equivalents?!

I just looked mine up - at 75 pounds down, I’ve lost somewhere between an Irish setter and a gold brick. Random 😂

Mounjaroday · 24/02/2026 16:38

Haha fantastic. Take the gold brick as reward for all your hard work!

I’ve lost around 140 blocks of butter. Would be amazing to see that all stacked up. Defo puts it all in perspective!

OP posts:
SpiralSister · 24/02/2026 16:45

50 pounds of butter!!

We’ve been carrying that around..dear God

So after 3 months, the scales have finally shifted. I'm on week 3 of 1.7mg and this week i lost 1.5kg. I have been stuck between 69 amd 70 since the end of October so that feels huge for me.

SW - 82.6kg (07/02/25)
CW - 68.3kg
Loss - 14.3kg

I have lost the weight of a 3 year old child or a medium size dog!

@Mounjaroday glad your panic is over, there's not much that scares me more than quick weight gain these days!

usedtobeaylis · 27/02/2026 09:32

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for a while as I've not had much to report! I've been tapering down for a few weeks now and doing ok - hungrier and more attracted to the high calorie sugary stuff but I have been inadvertently maintaining my weight the whole time which is fantastic as I haven't been exercising. I'm hovering around within 11st 12lb -12st 1lb which is keeping at around a 4.5stone loss for the past year. I haven't been panicking, I haven't been doing 'on Monday I must improve' and I also haven't been bingeing when the lower dose wears off after 5 days.

The weather is warming up so I intend to be back out running during March and this weekend will find a new weight-based routine. I still aim to lose 1.5 stone and I believe I will do it this year.

On the downside - some of my aches and pains have been returning with the lower doses. Before I started Mounjaro I had a lot of heel pain and was on the verge of going to the GP about it, and as soon as I started Mounjaro, without even losing any weight, the pain disappeared. But it's creeping back in and this morning was the worst so far. Knee twinges are definitely increasing too so while running was fine on Mounjaro I don't know if it will be doable without it.

Anyway I have one 15mg pen left and will be doing 2.5mg from it for as long as it lasts. I am so sad to be finishing it as it has been nothing but a life changing positive for me. And this group was so helpful during the year, I can't thank you all enough.

Hangryfastjo · 02/03/2026 08:17

Morning all, I took my last jabs yesterday! I'm feeling hopeful and not as anxious about it as I was 2 months ago.
I haven't bought MJ since August, I think I can order again from a previous supplier until may so it gives me a couple of months.
I started at 14st half lb (however at my heaviest was 15st 9lb) and am now 9stone 12lb.
My target was 10st 10lb as I never ever imagined being able to get my weight that low!
My weight window goes over 10stone, which is messing with my head, so would like to go to 9stone 10lb.
This thread has been, helpful, supportive and caring and I really think I couldn't have done it without it. I wasn't a prolific poster and am grateful for those that are.
I'll keep checking in, though, as its great to read still where everyone is and I still need that.
Chatgpt has been helpful in planning for this and reducing my anxiety/stress.
Thanks all ❤️

There was an article by a doctor in the Times at the weekend about GLP-1s. He thinks most people need a year on them and then a year on a maintenance dose. And he offered various other advice too. (Although what the piece did not mention was any clinical data showing how successful his advice was….)

Unfortunately b/c copyright I don’t think I can paste the whole piece here but the link is below.

(He also has a website theweightlossprescription.com which is mainly designed to promote his book about it all but there are a bunch of worksheets you can download for free related to the advice in the book which might be of use, eg goal setting, food diary, various psychological exercises.)

PurpleCoo · 06/03/2026 18:53

Hello fellow warriors! How are we all doing, it's pretty quiet these days

I increased to 8.75mg a couple of weeks ago and my weight is shifting again, hoorah! My BMI is now 25.1, super close to a healthy weight. Maybe next week.

I'm still doing the weights, still got a belly roll, still got slight bingo wings, but I do feel like I am progressing. I also have bulgy quads and bigger triceps under the little bingo wings. Went to my first lift club class this week, which is heavier weights than body pump so should help keeping the muscle tone up.

Annoyed that they are getting rid of the bonus dose. We knew it was coming though. I just ordered a 15mg pen, so I am doing things as economically as I can.

MJSpideySenses · 07/03/2026 08:14

Morning @PurpleCoo , we have all gone quiet haven't we!

All good here, I'm 2 weeks into 12mg and feeling it but it was time to increase. I still want to lose 1.5 stone, but only 12lb to go until I'm a healthy weight.

I'm 5lb away from what I weighed on my wedding day - 19 years ago! And I haven't weight that ever since so I need to knuckle down.

You are so close. Sounds like you're doing great with the fitness side too. Something I'm not so good at. Make sure you post to celebrate when you get there please!

MrsHero · 07/03/2026 16:36

It's been a while! I managed to get a new prescription and this morning I was 0.8lb from my amended target of 9st 7lb. Don't think I'll want to drop below this now, a size 10 is fitting comfortably and it's been so nice going to the shops and choosing clothes based on whether I like them, although the issue of working out what I actually like now is a whole new issue. Going to need a whole new spring/summer wardrobe!

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 14/03/2026 18:31

Hi all!

Hope you're all doing well? Still plodding on over here, 1lb up and down. Back to basics next week. Upping water, fully tracking calories and lots of gym/classes booked in.

The thing I'm massively struggling with is my clothes. I've finally established what size I am roughly but I've absolutely no idea what styles suit me 🤦‍♀️

I've got a hen do abroad later this year so looking for things to take on theme. I ordered around £100 worth of stuff and it all went back. I think I'm still dressing my body for before 5stone heavier but I don't think I like the clothes anymore 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️but I've no idea what to put on 😂

Currently strolling vinted in hope of some inspiration.

Have a wonderful weekend 🎉

Some quite nice NSVs today - it's sunny and I went out for a nice walk and marvelled at not being a sweaty mess!

But I had some time to kill so tried on some clothes. I haven't lost any weight for some time now but my body must have recompositioned as a) the size 16 trousers I tried on were too big - slim fit as well so I think I could have picked the 14 up off the rack and b) I tried on a pair of size 14 jeans and they were also too big on the waist!

My favourite though is that every year I buy a specific pair of boots and wear them to absolute death. I always had to buy 5.5 wide fit and break them in. In the autumn I had to return them and get 5 wide fit. I've just bought another pair as they were barely worn on eBay and I took a chance and bought them even though they were the 5 standard fit. They fit! Nicely! Next autumn I won't have to wear two pairs of socks as I'm doing just now and I won't have to break them in to soften them, I can walk around in them nicely!

Yesterday I tried on a silk jacket my father brought me back from Hong Kong when I was 14 years old. It fits!

PandaPeacock · 27/03/2026 16:36

Please answer a question for me. I just picked up my new pen from a new Pharmacist and she told me that my pen has to be refrigerated at all times. I was under the impression that once you use your first dose you don’t have refrigerate. What was everyone else told? The reason I ask is because I’m travelling soon and have got a case for my Mounjaro pen but it’s not an ice pack one. Also don’t know how much it will actually help because I’m going to travelling close to 20 hours.

laundryhamper · 27/03/2026 17:00

@PandaPeacock
My understanding is that the shelf life of the pen once you start using it is 30 days. At that point so long as you don’t expose it to heat ie 28 degrees plus, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. The reason they refrigerate the pen is to extend their shelf life until you open it - essentially so the clock doesn’t start ticking 30 days as soon as it is manufactured.

But someone else may have better info than me!

Zibb · 31/03/2026 20:09

Hello all!

How is everyone doing?

I've had a bit of a breakthrough. Secretly (or maybe not) I always thought my life would be made better if I was very tiny and delicate. When losing weight I would say out loud "Oh I just want to be a healthy weight" but really I wanted to be as tiny as possible. Which at my height would be 50kg and a BMI of 18.4. That was my secret impossible goal.

Well, I haven't even got close to that. And thank goodness! I did reach 60kg and a 26" waist and at first I was pleased and was determined to keep going. I kept catching sight of my reflection and having a split second thought of "who is that gaunt and haggard old lady!?" before realising it was me.

So now I am 64kg (BMI 23.8, 28" waist) and I feel like this is right. I look pretty good! I feel pretty good! My face doesn't look gaunt, my ribs aren't sticking out, my bum has filled out a little, my hair is growing back, I have energy (well, half the time). I realise that I really truly want to actually be strong. I want muscles. This is a good place to start.

Was it scary gaining weight back? YES. But it's been a good thing. I feel quite positive about it all. Will I ever look like the 20-something gym influencers all over my instagram? No, not even if I spent £40k on surgeries but my body is still a good body and it does everything I want it to and I want it to stay that way for as long as possible.

usedtobeaylis · 03/04/2026 09:29

Everyone around me seems to be getting more and more concerned about ageing and the visible signs of ageing and it makes me really uncomfortable. I think I've spent the last year simultaneously becoming healthier and accepting myself and that includes the fact I'm almost 50 and frankly, look it. I look it in a real way, no work, no tricks, and I do feel like there is implicit judgement because I'm not fretting about it. Gravity, weight loss and many other things have taken a toll on my face and body and I'm not ashamed of it but I almost feel like I should be. But I don't want to spend my life worrying about wrinkles and researching eyelid surgery and trying to find the right bra to hoik my boobs to the same heights as a 20 year old! I don't want to transfer the despair I felt about my weight and health to how I look. I just wish they would stop, it's a constant. Women younger than me on work are using Botox and lip fillers and that's their choice but it's in the context of worrying about ageing and it's incredibly sad.

Hangryfastjo · 03/04/2026 16:55

@usedtobeaylis I look at it like this, we dont all get the privilege of aging, so im fine looking how I do at 54. I have a good skin regime and go to the gym now, but that is as good as its ever going to get. And my age gives me a feeling of "take me as I am or f@@k off" 🤣🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Dumplers · 09/04/2026 23:40

Hi all.
Not been on here for ages, it's nice to see some familiar names.
Over a year now since I started on mj and I've lost just under 5 stone. I sometimes still can't see it but the compliments I receive are plentiful (except from the mother in law, no comment from her whatsoever, yet if SIL loses an ounce she tells the feckin world).
In size 14 clothes now... WTAF??? from size 24, creeping up to size 26.
Still need to lose about a stone, hopefully beginning 12.5mg tomorrow will sort that out.
I dread to think what I would be like now without MJ and feel ashamed of myself sometimes of how big I let myself get.
Hope you are all alright. X
