This thread I pledge:

(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

I can’t stop buying pens as I’m terrified they will cut me off if I don’t. I bought a few to stock up before the price rises, but every 6 weeks I am still buying one which defeats the whole point 😔 I’ve got about 5 10mg ones in the fridge, a 7.5 and a 5. I am so scared that if it’s 4 months before I order again they will reject me, even though I’m nearly at goal. I don’t know what to do. My weight hasn’t moved for months now, I bob between about 4 lbs (sometimes 4 lbs difference a day!) I dont know how to think about starting to taper. I’d ideally like to drop another half a stone before I do this, hence my panic buying pens. Shall I do one more 10mg pen, then drop to 8 mg?

I've kind of fallen away a bit from recording and logging my weight except on nutracheck but yesterday showed I'm back down to 11st 13lb which is excellent, back under that 12st monkey.

I did actually say today that I'm going to get fat again because I'm so, so tired of people commenting on it. Its always in terms of looking skinny and fantastic and a) that was never my aim b) I've still got weight to lose as I'm not skinny, I'm still overweight, I'm still a size 14-16 and still an unhealthy weight and c) I look old and haggard so you're all lying 😅

My mum can't seem to stop commenting and calling me Skinny Minnie and I'm struggling to articulate why but I wish people would just stop. Stop commenting on my body like losing weight is my greatest achievement. I would much prefer you told me I was such a nice person or done a nice thing or made a good decision or worked hard or am a good mum. I'm not just my weight.

@usedtobeaylis My mother is similar - keeps making comments about being worried for my health. (I am now bang in the middle of healthy BMI and not losing any more weight.)

However most other people, including the nosey parkers at the school gate, have shut up now.

I agree. People are jealous, I think, or unsettled by how we’ve changed (looks and behaviour around food) and they don’t know how to articulate what that does to them so they turn to mocking to deflect.

I’ve gained a kilo over the last two weeks. Too many old habits creeping back in on 2.5. I need to reset the habits.

Today I pulled some boxes out of storage, clothes from 2006-2008. Mostly dresses I'd worn to parties and events, lots of memories attached! Spent all afternoon reminiscing and remembering.

They're all size 14-16. They're all tiny! I'd say equivalent to 12-14 today. Except a couple of size 16 Topshop dresses were more like 10-12 as they fit nicely on me now.

I can't believe I thought I was fat back then!

All sent off to the charity shop donation box. It was lovely going through them all and trying them on and remembering all the fun times I had in my youth 🤣

Wotcher, warriors! Just thought I’d check in. Still on 5mg and now weigh 10.3.
Eating like a horse, or at least it feels like it. Feel a bit guilty when I do, which is odd. I don’t want to be thinner.

Anyone still on the MJ at goal?

Yes, I’m at goal, or thereabouts, on 2.5. I don’t want to lose any more (173cm and 62.5kg) but I do feel it’s easy to creep up on 2.5, especially at the end of the week. 62-63.5 is my happy range, or under 10 stone.

I may try injecting every 6 days and using the golden dose, so getting 5 doses of 2.5 over 30 days.

@SpiralSister I have been hovering 1kg below goal (which was a bit arbitrary anyway) and still on 10mg. I am worried about decreasing in case I can’t go back to 10mg if I need it.

Thanks both. I think this maintenance phase feels a bit unsupported and unknown. I guess it’s suck it and see. Might go down to 2.5mg next time, but then again, I also feel the effects lessening towards the end of the week. Fancying a drink more often too. Gah!

@Zibb, I know exactly what you mean about clothes sizes changing. I have some old size 12s that fit just right and some new size 8 clothes that have a fitted look and some new size 10s that are too large.

I have been telling myself that a size 16 is big but not that big, but turns out I was actually an old money size 18 then for the past 3 years 🤦‍♀️ My goal throughout life has always been a comfortable size 12, having been a 14 most of my life, but of course I need to adjust down to a size 10. Reassuring to know I'm not one of those people who is never happy and wants to be slimmer and slimmer and also explains why I am still overweight at a size 10.

Mind you, even though I am overweight still, I think I need to lose fat and build muscle. I just bought my MOG dress, and it's a size 10 and fits perfectly, but it has short floaty sleeves and my arms don't look great in it, but the rest of me looks ok. 4 months to sort my guns out 🤣

@PurpleCoo I recommend a set of weights at home. I have some dumbells that can be adjusted to 2.5 or 5 or 7.5kg, each one, and I do various arm exercises. Lots of little videos on YouTube to show you how. I can actually see a slight difference in my own arms already, having only started with resistance bands in July and then the weights in October. I didn't really believe it was possible, but I am enjoying how I am starting to look.

been a while since I checked in. New Job (contract) after a long break and quite frankly it’s awful. Year end. So to be expected. Feeling under appreciated tho so am now trying to put back my boundaries - Ie 9-7 is enough hours. 9-530, or 6 much better.

its been so awful I’ve eaten up all the left over Christmas chocolates. Several Terrys chocolate oranges. All the big Cadbury’s dairy milk. The secret Lindt bunny. All the nutcrackers.

and I wonder why I’m back up at 63.5kgs. From 57 pre Christmas!!!!!

ive also been off the MJ. Must look at who will take me back on given I’m at a healthy bmi (just!!)

Hey all, just thought I’d pop my head in and at say hi.
SW 89.2kg
CW 65.1kg

currently tracking a little bit under my dream weight, which is wild. I do need to build some more muscle, so hoping that this year I can take my muscle from “average” to somewhat better than that, according to my scales! Even if that means putting on some weight, that’d be fine. (Currently BMI of 20.8 from 29ish this time last year)

I’m still taking 7.5, but only 50 clicks from pen, so currently 6.25, but trying (hoping) to titrate down further to a standard dose of 5mg or even 2.5. I was finding 7.5mg too high, my supplier suggested spacing the doses further apart, which I tried, but was then starving for the last couple of days before jab, while earlier days I couldn’t eat at all. I think a weekly dose of a lower amount suits me better at the moment.

I certainly haven’t cracked maintenance, I’m just gonna keep weighing and recording my symptoms and see how I get on after another few months.

I have been up to 12.5 MG which didn't agree with me at all dropped back to 10 and then 7.5MG. I have a 7.5 pen ready to go in the fridge and will order a 5mg next as I intend to come off by end of March.

I want to drop half a stone by then which will give a BMI of 28.1 which is good enough. realistically I can't afford, wont continue if I'm not seeing better results

SW was 96KG BMI 37 waist to Height 0.79
CW is 76.9 BMI 29.7. Waist to height 0.63
Loss has been 19.1 KG 19.9% of BW

I have been way too relaxed with my calories over christmas but 2 weeks of being properly back on it has shown results already. 2st more to go 😅

@Mounjaroday congrats on the hair growth! I am jealous as mine still hasn't started growing and I've been off mj since September so now I'm thinking it won't come back. I'm used to my scraggly wisps now though 🤣

@Mounjaroday I have the same 2 inches of hair that looks like I have walked into static as it doesn't lay flat! Y hair is straight though so hopefully it lays flat soon. I had to have about 3-4 inches off the length of mine as the reduced volume made my ends wispier. Gutted to have my hair about my bra line, but it does at least look reasonably thick again.

@narkyspirit nothing 'mere' about a 3 stone loss, that's fantastic!

I'm still plodding along. I have been bouncing up and down the same weight since the end of November. There was a little gain over Christmas, but this soon went back to the pre Christmas bounce around. I know I am not doing as well with eating. I am not doing 'bad', but I am eating at a healthy maintenance. I have gone back up to 7.5mg so will see if that helps. It's frustrating not being able to manage to lose this last 3kg. BMI stubbornly stuck at 25.5ish, so not massively overweight, but still overweight.

@WoolerOwl Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think I want weights at home, not sure where I would keep them! I think the body pump twice a week (especially if I can get in the BP heavy class), plus reformer and athletic pilates should hopefully be enough. I can see massive improvements since I have been doing all this. So it's working, I just need to keep going with it and drop the weight/fat that's covering my muscles. I can really feel my ab muscles now, but under a layer of wobble 🤦‍♀️
