Well done on the tremendous weight losses and NSV’s.

@outofofficeagain @OneDayIWillLearn have you tried indoor walking/jogging to get you started? It’s amazing how many steps you can do watching a 30min episode of something to distract you. You will feel ridiculous to start with, but it works.

Ihateslugs · 10/11/2025 22:51

Went to see second consultant this evening and he’s given me the 16th December for y first knee replacement surgery - Eeeek! He will decide at my six week checkup when he will do the second, probably March.

I don’t know whether to be excited or really scared! This will be the first time I’ve had an operation or been in hospital since I had my children 40 odd years ago. I’ve now got 5 weeks to get everything sorted out, I’ll end someone to stay with me for a few days ( I live alone) and help with cooking etc. I’ll be given an idea of what equipment I might need for recovery at my pre op visit when I’ll see the physio but he warned me not to get bruised or scratched on my legs as he can’t operate then due to risk of cross infection.

I will have to come off Mounjaro two weeks before and not restart until two weeks afterwards but if I continue to have diarrhea after each injection I might not continue using it - time to reflect I think. I’ve also got to stop taking my blood thinners beforehand as I’ll be given stronger ones which I’ll need to inject - getting to be an expert at that now!

Lots to think about so I’m going to not do my usual thing of over thinking things and not do any planning for a few days. The only thing I need to fairly soon is cancel some Christmas nights out and work out with my family what we are doing for Christmas - at only a week post op, I might not be up to our usual boisterous family do!

That’s good news @Ihateslugs. I know it’s daunting and lots to think about but my best friend had one knee done last year and it’s been life changing for her. She needs the other done at some point but just having the one done has made a massive difference to her. Good luck.

Something weird going on with me. The scales haven’t shifted for at least 3 weeks, not even by half a pound but I’ve visibly lost weight. 3 inches off my waist, two off my hips, my face, neck and upper chest where I always lose first are all clearly thinner. Clothes are much looser and I’ve gone down a size on my top half. I’m chugging the water so hopefully it will come off at some point but I’m finding it very annoying that every time I weigh the scales say 16:10.

Does it literally say the same every time you get on? If so might be worth taking the batteries out to re-set them, or something like that, to check the scales haven’t done something funny?

My weight leaps around and I always seem to hold onto 3-5lbs of water weight if I’ve had a glass of wine or pasta the night before, period, done exercise the day before etc (also 4-5lb between morning and evening very normal!). So it can be hard to see a downward trend at times. But it would be pretty unheard of for my scales to show the exact same amount on subsequent days or different times of the day. Is that what you’re getting?

Pinkbox · 11/11/2025 10:02

Just had to come and tell my Sept buddies that it's now bye 14s (from my year of fasting 16:8), bye 13s, and I can't believe it but bye 12s! I can't remember the last time I saw an 11 on the scales 😍

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 11/11/2025 10:17

No WL for me this week. Am also thinking about food a lot, especially the shortbread gingerbread men in the pantry. Off up to 3.75mg we go.

That's wonderful news.

I went through surgery in March to remove some spinal rods (they were redundant, but causing immobility as my midsection was completely rigid and didn't move - this is far more debilitating than you might think and even more so than I realised until the rods were gone).

Without this surgery I battled to exercise and now I know why. The rods were inhibiting my lung capacity too and I couldn't even take a full breath.

I'd have had no chance of losing the weight I had if this hadn't been done. Three years, I was in that state.

Really hope your surgery goes well. Mine has been the best move ever.

My weight varies a lot day by day, it does seem weird that your is exactly the same, maybe check that you scales are working correctly by using them to weigh something else?

I was 106.2kg yesterday and was 105.5 kg today, I’m sure this was entirely due to the diarrhea I had on Sunday after my injection! I always eat very little the day after a bout as I can’t face food in between trips to the bathroom! Maybe that’s how MJ works for me, no need for food suppression, just diarrhea after every injection!

I bought some new scales in August and I’ve already had to replace the battery even though I normally only use them once a week, I expected it to last a lot longer.

Pinkbox · 11/11/2025 13:20

Has anyone got the Renpho Solar2 Smart Body Scale? I just unpacked mine and tried to calibrate etc and it’s only giving me weight and BMI. I can’t work out how to see all the other exciting features it claims to have like body fat percentage and muscle mass?
I have downloaded the app.
Thanks for any tips.

UnimaginableWindBird · 11/11/2025 13:30

I have the battery version. The body fat percentages etc are shown on the app rather than the scale, just in case you are looking there.. I'll take a screenshot of that would be v helpful. But mine worked pretty much straight out of the box.

Thanks, any screen shot of what I should press to see this on the app would be great!

Hiya I’m wondering if anyone can offer me some amateur advice please- been on MJ since 1st Sept and lost 25lbs, currently on 7.5mg and feel ok ish- going away over Christmas for a trip of a lifetime, don’t want to go crazy but want to enjoy the food and have a few drinks without feeling rubbish or feeling too full to eat- thinking of stopping it and restarting in Jan, it’s for 2 weeks, not sure how else to play it, have two teenage kids too so so we will be eating out a lot, thank you x

Chopsy123 · 11/11/2025 15:51

@Wendalicious how exciting! 🥳

As you’ve only been on MJ since September, are you moving up a dose every month? Do you think you’ll still be on 7.5mg or might you have moved up to 10mg or even 12.5mg by then?

I think as you’ve already gone up a few doses, you should probably chat to your prescriber because there’s two issues here…

  1. going cold turkey, as it were, for about a week or more and
  2. re-starting when you get home and on what dose.

It might be worth posting a new thread on the WLI Board to ask this specific question as potentially they’ll be a lot more posters who have been on MJ for longer than us and who will have had breaks from MJ for holidays abroad over the summer months.

Hopefully, that way you’ll get some more practical advice?

i just typed a long message then lost it. You have to use the app to start the scales. Press Start Measurement on the app, then Go To Measure.

it will tell you to step on scales.

The ‘Go To Measure’ is in very feint writing at the top.

OP posts:
UnimaginableWindBird · 11/11/2025 17:36

Once you have your measurement as described above, you should see a page like this. There is a bit at the bottom that says "body composition". THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY THE BOTTOM. Keep scrolling down, and you should be able to see all your measurements.

And the bit with measurements that you scroll down to should look like this

Once you've done multiple weigh-one it will compare your results to the previous ones, and you can set the dates to compare.

OneDayIWillLearn · 11/11/2025 18:14

@Pinkbox you've inspired me, I’ve just ordered a set of those!

@Chopsy123 I bought some yesterday and two spoonfuls worked a treat 🥰

I developed a cold/cough last Thursday which has gradually got worse. Not been able to exercise since Wednesday and it has destroyed my appetite although I’ve still forced myself to eat. Last night the night sweats came which I’m hoping is a sign I’m on the recovery path now. It’s amazing how much these bugs can wipe you out!

36 hours post my first 5mg jab and I don’t appear to have any side effects. It’s harder to tell with the cold but I’ve not felt nauseous, indigestion etc so my body seems to have accepted it so far.

I’ve literally been on and off poorly for 4 weeks started with a stomach bug, then a few weeks later I went up to 5mg and had Diorrhea , stomach cramps, sulfer burps, then got this horrible virus now and coughing loads. Not had much energy to do anything lately even my steps are low. Hoping this cough will clear up soon and I can get back to weight training x

I think I saw them on here but it may have been the FB Mounjaro group I’m in. I checked them out in reviews etc and they always got a good rating and weren’t that pricey, win win.

Oh no you’ve been through it haven’t you, that’s awful. This cough bug is nasty isn’t it, I’m similar as my chest is too bad to exercise currently and I’d been doing so well with regular workouts.
