Anyone else find they’re feeling sick as the jab is wearing off? I’m fine for the first 4-5 days and then the last 2-3 days I feel sick and unsettled in the tummy. Ended up jabbing this morning which is a day early and within a couple of hours my stomach felt settled again

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 01/11/2025 11:12

Morning everyone!

After a rocky start to the week with major food cravings, it all settled and I lost another 3lbs since Monday’s weigh in. We are going out for a dinner tonight and I’ve already checked the menu and decided to go for a fish option. I’ve done my first wardrobe clear out, threw away summer clothes which now look too baggy. I never want to wear those again!

Latest numbers below:
W10 D1 3.75mg
SW 19st 3lbs
CW 16st 9lbs
GW1 15st
GW2 13st
Last week -3lbs since Monday, 36lbs in total

Chopsy123 · 01/11/2025 13:04

Wow, @SnowWhiteisMyFavourite you’re doing incredibly well!! Congratulations on your brilliant results so far. 👏👏

Do you think the higher dose is making you lose a bit faster?

I’m also impressed that you’ve got rid of your summer clothes. I wish I felt as confident. I panicked and put mine in a couple of large zipped laundry bags in the spare bedroom as I still can’t imagine losing the weight. Even though the scales are showing a downward trajectory. 😂

MoreIcedLattePlease · 01/11/2025 15:36

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite you've well and truly run away from me now - well done you!

I'm still hoping to hit 16st in time for Christmas. If I can lose 2lbs a week again once I'm back to being active, I think I can just about make it!

@Chopsy123 I've done the same - but just think how amazing it's going to feel to get them out again next year and marvel at just how much slimmer you are!

Pinkbox · 01/11/2025 16:42

I have noticed some people list a Goal Weight and then a 2nd GW. Is that to do with an agreement with GP/pharmacy or just spacing out the hoped-for loss into chunks?

Elliebearblues · 01/11/2025 17:35

I’ve upped my dose to 5mg now as I just wasn’t getting food supression on 2.5mg or 3.75mg, I’m not getting much losses either so hopefully the 5mg will do the trick, has anyone else been like that and not had supression on the lower doses?

I’ve lost nearly 9lbs on total since the start of September so it’s slowly coming off but I would like it to be a bit faster if I’m honest x

I listed two just because 4 stone felt like a lot! Many people recommend having 10% of your body weight as a good interim step.

@Elliebearbluesmy loss is slow and I’m stuck between wanting to lose it slowly to minimise negative effects (mainiy loose skin and hair loss) and also needing it to be as inexpensive as possible!

3.75 seems to be working for now although I do feel quite nauseous today.

Hi all,

I think I’m ready to go up a dose but I still have 3 doses of 2.5 left, I see you talking about 3.75, could I do that with a 2.5 pen or do i need to order a 5 pen and reduce the dose somehow?
many thanks!!!

You can do it from your 2.5 pen, you would need to do a full dose and then a further half dose of 30 clicks. If you have 3 doses of 2.5 left then this would take you down to 2 doses

Throwing away those old baggy clothes must feel amazing! Xx

My mother in law has arrived and for the first time since September 16th I’m thinking about alcohol. Co-incidence?

familyornot · 02/11/2025 09:09

Thanks for the advice on how to micro dose, I’ve just administered 3.75 using my 2.5 pen which had 2 doses left. I’m going to see how this week goes and decide whether to use my 5mg pen for the full dose or whether to stick with the 3.75. I’m concerned the side effects will make my life harder than it already is which is why I’m apprehensive about going straight to 5mg.

Week 7: 2.5mg for 6 weeks, 3.25mg this week.
SW: 18 stone 4lbs
CW: 17 stone
Loss: 18lbs
Target: 10 stone 7lbs
It feels like I’ve got such a long way to go, but definitely more manageable than it was before Mounjaro. I also weigh myself every day so I can see fluctuations, on one hand it’s really helpful because smaller losses and gains don’t seem like such a big deal. On the other it makes it seem like a longer road, even though I can see that fluctuations are normal a slow loss is gutting when I’m barely eating.

It took me years to gain all this weight so it stands to reason it’ll take a while to come off again. I was 19 stone 11lbs so I lost a bit through diet and exercise, there’s no way I could have kept that up to get rid of another 7 stone though.

My house is full of Halloween sweets and I haven’t been tempted by any of them which is massive for me.

We’ve got this!

Atalosswhat2do · 02/11/2025 10:59

Well done on all your losses this week! I forgot to post my results on Thursday. I’ve had a stinking cold all week, my resting heart rate has increased everyday indicating my body needs to recover, and my appetite has been low. My loss this week was 0.5lb on the scales, but the data from my smart scales were far more impressive in terms of reducing overall body fat, and slowly Increasing my muscle mass, protein & water levels. My 7 weeks of increasing my physical activity has definitely made a massive difference.

SW: 12st 3lb
CW: 11st 0.5lb
GW: 9st 1lb

Week 1: -6lb
Week 2: -2lb
Week 3: -1lb
Week 4: -2lb
Week 5: -3lb
Week 6: -2lb
Week 7: -0.5lb

Total Loss: 16.5lb

This week I am going to start strength training, first up is the ‘bingo wings’ 😆 I am absolutely hopeless when it comes to upper body strength and cannot do a push up to save myself, so it’s going to be 3 sets of 15 wall pushups each day to start with!

Elliebearblues · 02/11/2025 11:12

Hi all, Did my jab Friday upped to 5mg about 4pm and by bedtime I had stomach cramps on and off which lasted all of Saturday too, I had my food last night then the suffer burbs, wind and stomach churning started and now I have diarrhoea again 😩 it’s got to be the jab this time as it literally started not long after I’d done the jab… has this happened to anyone else? x

You have just described the symptoms I get after every jab! I had these side effects even when on 2.5mg and only had one week, last week, when I did not actually have diarrhea or constipation. I was gutted last night when I started the stomach cramps and wind just after I sent to bed as I only did my injection that morning so was not anticipating such a quick reaction.

I had delayed injecting for one day as I did not to be running to the toilet on Saturday afternoon while chairing an important meeting, according to my previous experiences, I thought any side events would be on day 2 following the injection but no, my body decided to fool me! I was fine for the meeting though fortunately!

I now have to get my next pen and as I’d not had any reactions after jab 3, I was going to go up to 7.5mg but now I’m not too sure, I might still get it but only inject 5mg for the first jab. In fact, I’ve now gone back to thinking that these injections are not for me. I lost at least 13lb between 26th July and 15th September when I did my first injection, I am not certain of my starting weight though as I did not buy any scales for a month or so and based my weight on a previous hospital visit 3 years ago. I know I’d put on weight since then as I’d gone up a dress size!

Since 15th August, first jab, I’ve lost 10.5lb in the 7 weeks since then. So in a similar timeframe ie 7 weeks, I lost more weight through diet than when using Mounjaro and paying a fortune for the pleasure of spending two days each week sat on the toilet! As my mobility restricts me from increasing my activity levels, I can’t even say that my muscle tone has improved instead!

I am so undecided about carrying on, looking at my diary for November, I’m likely to have to cancel a number of social events due to the side effects and living alone, my social life is very important to my mental health.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 02/11/2025 15:05

@Chopsy123 I did keep a few dresses and one pair of size 24 trousers so I can see the progress. But there’s no way I want to wear them again 😄

I lost an average of 4.5lbs per week on 2.5 mg over the first 8 weeks but moved up as the food noise was getting stronger and suppression was pretty much gone after day 5 during the last few weeks. This is only my second week on 3.75 mg. Food noise has now disappeared, and suppression seems to be at the right level. I’ll see how this goes over the next few weeks, but I’m trying not to increase the dose if I don’t need to.

@SoUncertain All the loss has come during the last 10 weeks on MJ 😄 It does feel a bit fast, but I’m eating well — three meals per day — and just trying not to get my calories from carbs.

@MoreIcedLattePlease I hope you can start swimming again and that your leg feels better! I can’t wait to see you at the 16 st marker at Christmas 😄

@Pinkbox My SW was over 19 st, and I’d need to lose about half of that to reach my ideal weight. I weighed that about 30 years ago and it doesn’t feel like a realistic target at all. Breaking the target down makes it manageable and gives me some hope of getting there. I think my GW1, which is 15 st, is my pre-kids weight and GW2, 13 st, would take me back about 20 years.

threescoops · 02/11/2025 15:41

Interesting experience with this morning’s injection. I started in late August and have used 2 x 2.5 pens over the last 10 weeks, using a syringe to get the golden dose to get 5 doses out of each. That last golden dose was 2.7 according to the syringe, I had no ill effects. I've been doing well on 2.5 and have lost 25 lbs. Because I use two providers, and bought pens to beat the price rise, I still have 2 more 2.5mg pens to use up before moving on to the 5mg pen I have in the fridge. I'm managing the slight hunger ok, but the weight loss has slightly slowed, so I feel ready to move up but am in no rush to go too high. Want to use all the medication I've already invested in. Using the online click counter tool I knew I could get 4 x exactly equal doses of 3.1 from each 2.5mg pen, with 75 clicks, including the golden dose. A nice modest increase I thought. Started my new pen this morning and of course it stopped at 60 clicks, as a 2.5 mg pen is designed to do. So I did a second injection of another 15 clicks. I wonder what will happen next time with the second dose from this pen - will it a) register that 15 clicks have been used and stop after 45 so I'll have to have a second injection of 30 clicks, or b) will it go to 60 as usual and I'll need a second injection of 15 clicks again? I'll have to concentrate carefully on counting the clicks. Is anyone who's taken bigger doses than 60 clicks from a 2.5 mg pen able to tell me what to expect from the pen next week? Thanks!

OneDayIWillLearn · 02/11/2025 16:27

@Ihateslugs oh no how miserable! That must be so demoralising after it seemed like things were on the up after the last jab.
Have you considered split dosing I.e. having 2.5mg 3.5 days apart or something like that? Sounds like your body doesn’t like the big spike post jab. Wouldn’t blame you for giving up though, especially if you feel you could be losing well anyway and you certainly have some strong motivation.

whatever you decide, I hope you stay on the thread!

I think if this happened all the time I just couldn’t cope, hopefully it’s just my body adjusting to the extra dosage. Hope you feel better soon x

Urggg, just my luck, as someone who really dislikes jabbing, not the actual injection itself but more the unknown and worry about the after, my pen has jammed!

I have the golden dose from pen 1 and my new 2.5 pen, I also have the 1ml injections from Amazon so if anyone can guide me to take 3.75 I’d be ever so grateful 🙂

Also, any advice about the pen that’s jammed, do I tell Medexpress or just continue with the injections?

Is the pen jammed as in you can’t twist it or has it twisted but the plunger won’t work. I read on another thread that someone had this problem and changed the needle and the pen worked again

Well done @familyornot :) I have a lonngggggg way to go too, but at least it's happening this time
Usually I do well for a few weeks and then something happens to send me into emotional eating and I gain whatever I had lost. Life is pretty stressful at the moment with a chronically ill family member, and I would often feel an almost physical pull to the "snack cupboard" to alleviate stress. I'm finding I can avoid this on MJ, which along with smaller portions and trying to focus on healthier meals seems to be working well.

The slow losses are definitely less motivational than the early big losses, but I keep telling myself that it will help with loose skin etc., and also like you, that I gained it all over a period of years, so it makes sense that it will take a while.

Dropping a dress size has been quite motivational this week :)

Fivetogo · 03/11/2025 07:32

I’ve been wondering to go another 2 months or not on 2.5 (after 7 weeks and losing steadily with no side effects), and yesterday I was ravenous wanting all the carbs and really had to be mindful, so thought it might be that it’s less effective now. However this morning I feel back to normal so I’m going to see what my doctor advises this week, but see if I can go for another 2 months on 2.5. Lots of social and work things coming up and I don’t want to risk horrible effects having been lucky up until now! PS: house full of sweets from Halloween but picked a few things to keep for the kids and donated all the rest - they’re none the wiser as actually all the fun is in the trick or treating, so it felt win-win.

Week 7 weigh in:
SW 131.6kg
CW 122.5kg

So down 0.4kg or about 1lb this week. Not too bad as still have a cold plus my period, so haven't been swimming or walked as much as normal. Haven't scoffed chocolate like I normally would on my period, and haven't missed it either :)

I'm down 20lbs since starting MJ, which I'm very happy about!

Injected my thigh this time. Did have the slight skin reaction again despite letting the pen warm up before using it, but again nothing that really bothered me. It wasn't as red as last time, so I will try thigh again this week.

Let's go! Wonder how much we will all have lost by Christmas. Anyone have any goals set?

Week 8 weigh in:

SW 131.6kg
CW 121.4kg - down 10kg! (22.5 lbs)

My first mini goal is coming up quickly - 120.5kg. this will be when I have lost 1.4 of the total weight I need to lose (from my highest weight of 136kg), and I'll be out of the 40s for my BMI. I really hope I can hit it this week 🤞

I think its helpful in the long run to feel a bit of hunger. It's not all the time but definitely different to when I first started the pen and would forget to eat 😅

i've got a 5 pen in the fridge but may order another 2.5 at the end of this pen of i'm still losing, whole month to decide!

Well done on your losses so far 🤗

Yes, I agree completely. I'm glad I'm feeling hunger, or I'd worry that I'd struggle to manage when I come off the jabs. It also means I'm enjoying food! The fact the cravings are managed is definitely a big bonus.

Well done on your losses too!
