Oh brilliant where have you booked to go?

We have Egypt booked for next summer! The resort has a water park and I have already promised my boys I WILL be on the slides every day! 😂

My goal weight is 9st 1, so I’m completely confident I will be there well before we go on holiday!

I love Egypt! I can't cope with that level of heat though 😅 this year we went to Turkey and it was just too hot.

We've booked one of the Canary Islands so it will be a lot breezier.

My aim is to go a water park and on the slides too 😅 I refused to go this year, mixture of awkwardness and anxiety which I suspect was highly linked to how I felt about myself!

2 stone down and 2 stone to get to that target so it should definitely be achievable in 10 months!

Fair enough, it was only anecdotal. 😂

I’ve been cautious about eating fatty foods on MJ as it definitely makes me feel queasy afterwards.

Have you noticed any difference now you’re on WLI?

Mo, I've not had any noticeable reactions since starting WLI...

Kazzaa46 · 19/10/2025 16:23

My sleep got better on 3.75 towards the end of the week, I actually started getting overly sleepy.

Although the increase to 3.75 gave me better suppression, I had the same issue where from late on day 5 onwards my hunger and cravings started to surface again. Jab 2 tonight but I’m reluctant to go to 5 yet as after my first jab last week of 3.75, I had the most horrendous headache for 3 days that wiped me out.

On a positive I’m really starting to see the weight loss. I tried on some trousers today in Next which are one size down from what I was and they fit and were actually a little loose on the waist!

Elliebearblues · 19/10/2025 16:52

Did anyone get diarrhoea and sickness when they moved up a dose? I did the 3.75mg jab Monday and I was sick and had diarrhoea Fri, diarrhoea sat and also today it is easing but wondering is it a bug or a side effect? x

I didn’t experience this but my sister moved up to 3.75 last week and has been vomiting and had diarrhoea most of the week. So it’s definitely possible it’s the MJ increase.

Georgelassosthemoon · 19/10/2025 19:12

Just discussing with DD that I’ve had diarrhoea, nausea and a lot of very eggy burping today and she suggested it might be the jab site as haven’t gone up a dose this week. I do left leg, right leg then stomach on a rota and this week was stomach. I did have similar about 3 weeks ago so she could be right.

Anyone got any opinions on jab site?

We haven’t been to Egypt before so the kids are soo excited. Oh lovely, yes you can definitely do it! We both have roughly the same amount left to lose!

I’m looking forward to coming home with bruises from being thrown about on the slides. 😂

The medication is designed to reduce by day 5, so your reduced suppression is normal and expected behaviour.

I get diarrhoea or constipation after every jab! About 2 days after the jab, my stomach starts to become unsettled and builds up to a volcanic eruption of burbs or farts followed by frequent trips to the toilet! Twice I just had terrific wind ( after jab 3 and 4 on 2.5 mg) and I thought I was getting used to the medication but after my first 2 jabs at 5mg, I had diarrhoea again! So after 6 weeks on Mounjaro, I can definitely state that my usually cast iron stomach has a bad reaction.

All I can do is not make any plans for the weekends as I jab on a Friday. I am seriously thinking of giving up as it cannot be good for my long term health to have such strong reactions. I buy from a local pharmacy so do have someone to advise me, I’ll see what he thinks. I don’t want to go down to 2.5mg as I had the same side effects then but lost less weight than when I was dieting and intermittent fasting the previous few months.

Thats awful you get so ill after every jab, this is the first time I’ve had such a horrible reaction to the jabs but definitely think it was moving up a dose. It certainly can’t be good for you long term if your like that every weekend after you jab. The Diorrhea has stopped now well I hope but I have the most awful rank farts now. I’m definitely going down to 2.5mg tomorrow for a few more weeks and see how I go. Definitely talk to your pharmacist about what to do as you can’t continue this long term with those horrible side effects. Let me know what the pharmacist says.

OneDayIWillLearn · 20/10/2025 10:05

Weigh in at jab number 7 (second week on 3.75mg) was 13 stone 0.75lbs, a pound up from last week :-(

Trying not to take it too much to heart - I weighed 12 stone 10.75lbs on Friday morning and although the weekend was more indulgent than usual (away without kids for my birthday) I had quite high suppression still and can’t possibly have been over 2000 calories a day plus loads of walking. D and V episode on Saturday night left me feeling tired and a bit weird yesterday though and I didn’t have much suppression, so I didn’t make great food choices, including a couple of glasses of wine and some chocolate last night to keep me awake.

Oh and I have my period.

Anyway, feeling normal again today and had a good night’s sleep, so hopefully its just a blip/ water retention and I’ll be back in the 12s again soon, fingers crossed!!!

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 20/10/2025 10:40

@Ihateslugs Hope you feel better soon. Have you tried a different WLI like Wegovy or Ozempic?

No, went straight to Mounjaro but that’s something to discuss with the pharmacist as he did say that MJ does not agree with everyone. My hesitation is that if MJ has had little impact in terms of food suppression and feeling full then I’m not sure that less effective meds will work for me either.

I’ll see what he says next week.

Kazzaa46 · 20/10/2025 13:03

@OneDayIWillLearn It’ll definitely be your period. It made me gain 2 pounds which I then subsequently lost plus a couple more pounds after.

I did jab 2 of 3.75g last night. No side effects so far thankfully apart from a minor headache but I had it yesterday so probably unrelated. Sorry to those experiencing side effects, I hope it gets better with time.

I’ve just ordered my next 5mg pen. I’ve been using Oxford pharmacy who are competitive on the 2.5 dose but I realised their 5mg is more expensive than some providers. I also read on forums that they’re not great at supporting maintenance at goal weight.
So I’ve made my next order with Cloud pharmacy, £15 cheaper and although they weren’t the cheapest out there they have good reviews for supporting maintenance. Was a bit worried about getting accepted because I’ve slipped below BMI 30 now but they asked for a photo of my current box with the prescription sticker to support my application and I was accepted straight away and it’s been despatched already. Don’t know much about them apart from good reviews so hopefully it’ll arrive with no delivery dramas 😆

The weight increase is probably just water retention from the wine

My weight is all over the place from lack of sleep or water.

Interesting. My weight's hovering between 14 st and 14 st 1. A trip to London on Saturday meant I 'had' to rely on Wasabi that day - and was a tangilble reminder of how rammed with sugar processed food is and how quickly your body will let you know about it. I was starving by evening - showing me just how fast and fiercely sugar drives cravings - and on checking my Nutra Check app the day was filled with carbs, salt and sugar whereas it usually registers low on these things and higher in protein and fibre.

A couple of days of eating what's now my 'normal' diet of high protein has seen these cravings diminish, and I probably also have some water retention (I had a couple of shots of brandy when I got back). My period also started today.

Slip back into your old ways even momentarily and your body instantly lets you feel it. I guess this can only be a good thing. I'm shuddering to think of how ill and sluggish I must have felt all day every day before I radically overhauled my diet. It's actually shocking!

Wow that does really show how much fluctuation you get, doesn’t it?? Useful to see it in a graph like that.

I’m sure it must be water retention from wine / time of the month with me - so hopefully it’ll all settle down in a day or two!

My weigh in day has always traditionally been Tuesday so any post-weekend water retention has had a good chance to settle down but I shifted to Monday since starting MJ to go with jab day. But I think maybe I should just go back to Tuesday after all….

It was shocking to see at first, but then I started to see a pattern emerging and also the result of changes in my diet. That's why I now enjoy weighing daily.

My weight will probably go up again between now and Thursday (my weigh day) and settle near today's weight, which is 1.4kg lower than last week's.

Your increase will definitely drop within the next 2 days.

Shwighty1 · 20/10/2025 21:21

My weight didn’t shift last week, but I think it’s because I got a bit cocky and started eating more carbs, whereas I’d been far stricter previously. I think I just need to be far more strict and keep motivated to keep aiming the weight downward. I’ll be really intrigued to weigh in at the end of this week. It doesn’t feel like I’m losing weight this week

maz99 · 20/10/2025 22:31

So... I decided to order the 7.5mg pen from IQ Doctor (the cheapest after 'Get a Drip').
Yesterday I completed their form and answered all the medical questions honestly, informing them that I had my gallbladder removed in 2013 and that I take medication for high blood pressure. This morning they asked me for proof of my current repeat medications, which I sent them.

Then at 5pm they've sent this message:

Upon reviewing your answers, I can see you have mentioned that you've had your gallbladder removed. I would like to take this opportunity to provide some information on the use of Mounjaro after gallbladder removal.
Patients who have had their gallbladders removed can often use Mounjaro, though there are some important factors to keep in mind to ensure safe and effective treatment:

Digestive Changes: Without a gallbladder, bile flows continuously from the liver directly into the small intestine, rather than being stored and released as needed. This can sometimes alter the way fats are digested and may increase the likelihood of gastrointestinal symptoms. Mounjaro may also cause digestive side effects, so it may be beneficial to start on a lower strength and continue on this strength for as long as possible before needing to increase.
Risk of Pancreatitis: While removing the gallbladder may reduce the risk of gallstone-related pancreatitis, Mounjaro itself has a rare but potential association with pancreatitis. It's important to be aware of symptoms like persistent abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting and to seek medical attention if they occur.
Dietary Considerations: After gallbladder removal, many people find that a balanced, lower-fat diet helps manage digestive comfort. This approach can also support weight management, which complements the benefits of Mounjaro.
Hydration: Mounjaro can reduce appetite, which sometimes affects thirst as well. Staying hydrated is especially important to support healthy digestion and to avoid any risk of dehydration.
We recommend starting with a lower dose of Mounjaro and seeing how your body adjusts. It may be wise to continue with the lower strength while you are making progress.

All of that information is useful, but I've not any gastrointestinal symptoms since having my gallbladder out and I've obviously been eating high fat foods (a lot) since then.

So, I replied informing them of this and that I haven't had a single side effect since starting Mounjaro. I told them that I still wanted the 7.5mg and they should cancel the order if they wouldn't supply it and I will go to another provider.

It's not like I'm planning to take 7.5mg doses as I'm going to stick to 3.75mg - but I can't tell them that can I?

I had a feeling that switching providers wouldn't be so easy (for me), but this has still irritated me.

It's a good thing I started to look around early, because I want there to be a gap too big between each of my orders. Next week will be my 4th dose from the 5mg pen and I can still make 3 more doses of 3.75mg with the remainder in the 2nd 2.5mg pen I have. But I still need to get a pen from somewhere to maintain my 4 week ordering cycle.

jigsawmeup · 21/10/2025 10:01

Well I gained 2lb this week! The same happened about a month ago and I ended up losing more the following week, so we will see if that happens again. I'm still 11lb down in 8 weeks, but I am disappointed not to have lost anything this week as I have been really strict with protein and fibre, maintaining a deficit, working out, drinking water etc. I decided to do the last jab from my 5mg pen to just finish it off. There's still a golden dose left in there, but I probably won't be ordering any more after that.

SoUncertain · 21/10/2025 10:36

Chopsy123 · 19/10/2025 08:41

@SoUncertain I’ve read previous MJ threads on here and a few posters have mentioned itchy skin or a rash around the injection site.

One group of posters have blamed needles supplied by BD Viva needles saying they have a coating on them that can cause itchiness and switching needle brands resolved the problem.

Another couple of posters said that if they have any large drips of liquid from priming the pen that touch the skin, that can cause itchiness too. I think they blot the tip with the antiseptic wipe before injecting.

Thanks! It has gone down after a week or so. Wasn't horribly itchy, just quite a big red circle that was a bit disconcerting until I asked Dr Google!

I booked a holiday yesterday for next summer as another incentive to keep going 🤩

I keep telling myself I WILL be comfortable around the pool this year!

I wonder how much I can lose in the next 10 months 🤔 my ideal goal would be around 8 stone 7.

Does anyone else have any holidays booked? I have always hated going away previously, always felt really self conscious at the pool and hated walking around as I got out of breath 🫠 onwards and upwards!

Some people on YouTube have lost 100lbs in 10 months. Of course they had a lot of weight to lose, but you might well get to goal by then x

Hi all! End of week 5 for me and I'm down 7.7kg (17lbs). Finally broken through the constipation issue, which I'm pleased about :)

I've decided to go up to 3.75mg this week as I felt 2.5mg was significantly less effective over the past week. I ate more than I usually have been and was getting a lot of the food noise coming back in. I almost feel guilty to go up, as feel like I should be able to have some self control, but then I remember this is why I didn't try WLIs for so long and I need to use the tool I have!

Saying that, I didn't want to jump straight to 5mg so went for the halfway option!

SW: 131.6kg
CW: 123.9kg

Down another kg this week (2.2lb), which I'm quite happy with. Suppression is much better on 3.75mg. I mentioned in another post that I did get a skin reaction to the jab at this higher level, which is apparently fairly common. It didn't really cause much issue other than surprise and worry when I saw it! No other side effects other than constipation when I am not careful about fibre intake.

Week 6 weigh in:
SW: 131.6kg
CW 122.9kg

Have had a manky cold this week so didn't jab on Sunday, but I will do it now so I don't leave too long between jabs!
