Yes, I’m considering that but most of my meals were salads with some protein such as chicken, salmon, prawns, tuna, steak etc and now it’s getting cold I want warm casseroles! In reality I still eat snack type things but with my meal, rather than in between. I like a packet of crisps most days, I buy Walkers ones that have 80 to 90 calories a bag.
To a basic salad I add all sorts of things choosing between grapes, carrots, croutons, olives, feta or blue cheese cubes, seeds, beetroot, nuts, apples, sweetcorn, chickpeas - not all at once! I think my salads were still less calories than the casseroles I’ve made the last couple of weeks so I will go back to salad, in fact I bought some fresh foods this week but am avoiding them for a couple of days as I think the extra fibre and roughage I was eating added to the Mounjaro diarrhoea!
I have had to eat some extra things to help with the constipation I now get, so have been eating a few prunes, berries with full fat yogurt, granola, kiwi fruit and popcorn which are recommended by the NHS to help loosen stools. I’m still keeping below 1400 calories but the obsession with counting every morsel added to my constant thoughts about food which is not good.
Ive got a homemade tuna, sweetcorn and chickpea casserole for tonight then it’s back to salad, I can always make some delicious home made soup in my soup maker if I want hot food. So far today I have had two small homemade banana oat cookies, a packet of Walkers French fries, two hard boiled eggs with 2 slices of medium thick seeded bread followed by an apple. I’ll have some popcorn later and after my tea I’m having frozen berries with Greek yogurt and a little granola topping, followed by my daily dose of roughage - a couple of kiwis and some prunes!
Im not going to count calories again but I reckon I’ll be eating about 1200 - 1300 calories in that lot. The thing is though that what I eat has to be sustainable long term when I stop using WLIs, I’m not sure I’ll be happy on salad every meal long term!
