Feeling a bit despondent today as no change on the scale this week. Seems to go in jumps for me. Still a stone down after 7 weeks is good although I have doubts about the first reading.

I have definitely lost weight though as I can fit into a bra I haven’t worn for a year.

End of week 3 and five days since my last weigh in and I’m 1.1kg down, which I’m pretty pleased with. Although the scale actually suggested I’d put weight on at first, but then I stood on two more times and got the lower number so I’m claiming it. So that’s 3.7kg or 8lbs in 3 weeks, which I’m pretty happy with.

I’m due jab #4 today. Hoping for some good suppression as the last two days have been quite tough. My period arrived yesterday which may have something to do with it.

I'm really worried about this too 😩 i've got very thick hair so it would be noticeable quickly if i start losing it. I'm not really sure there's any way to stop it either.

Sleep wise, I keep waking up around 3ish, going the toilet and having my mind racing with stuff for the next day 😅 I can usually get back to sleep though thankfully.

So, the general consensus is that rapid weight loss can cause a sudden drop in oestrogen, which can make hair loss an issue. There are a couple of things you can do to help to prevent and stop that from happening. A hair serum, like Champo, which stops hair loss for many and starts the growth process. I bought this after extreme stress was causing me to lose lots of hair and it works. Another measure you could take is pumpkin seed oil supplementation and selenium. There are so many out there to choose from. Nothing is guaranteed to work, but reviews speak for themselves.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 17/10/2025 15:46

@JustPickleRick hair loss is my big worry as I have a very fine hair. I’ve been taking collagen for over a year now (for skin/nails/hair) and I’ve now added biotin to my daily intake. I swapped my normal shampoo/conditioner to Plantur39 and started using serum. I went for Bio-Pilixin. It’s early days so time will tell but finger crossed! And I’m making sure I hit my protein goal daily plus I’m taking iron tablets.

maz99 · 17/10/2025 16:04

I would also add that another reason for hair loss and other adverse effects of weight loss is consistently not eating enough (under BMR) to allow the body to optimally perform all of its functions.

SerafinasGoose · 17/10/2025 09:13

Ha! I got the gold rosette from Nutracheck too.

I’ve not seen much movement this week but did for the two preceding weeks so I’m happy with that. I’m still on 14 st with a total of 14 lbs lost.

But in the past week my body composition has noticeably changed - sorry in advance for TMI. The flesh on my abdomen and bum cheeks is very soft now. Worse, there’s a change in my silhouette - the fat around my abdomen has literally headed south. It’s sort of ‘sunk’ downward so that I’m now carrying a much more noticeable roll of flesh just around the top of my hips and lower back. And so much softer. Trousers and leggings look dreadful on me: I did an incredulous double-take when I accidentally caught sight of myself in the mirror: the change really is that obvious.

I so hope this isn’t the onset of the dreaded loose skin, which I’ve never had when dieting before. I also hope it’s a stage of transition and worth the price of being slimmer and healthier. But it’s weird to witness your body shape change in under two months like that. (I haven’t yet been through menopause but am at the age where it should be getting close).

It’s a bit discombobulating. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I have the same stomach roll and, even worse, the skin in the overhang area is getting sore, itchy and red.

Yesterday was jab day, 7 weeks completed so far... did my 3rd jab of 3.75mg using both 2.5mg & 5mg pen. Since I'm taking half the dose from each one they will last me 8 weeks... I haven't got a problem going over the 30 days and they're kept in the fridge.

I felt the same as all you first timers on 3.75mg... high suppression that I really wasn't used to. It was a strange feeling which I didn't really like... I actually want to feel hungry and eat food.

My weigh-in loss was not great - 03.kg / 0.7lbs, but I'm not down about it as I've been weighing daily and know I was lower during the week.

I'm not surprised really, since I've not been great this week with drinking water, have had bad sleep, then an after work event the night before with couple of drinks & poor food options has a lot to do with it. In fact, I am 0.7kg / 1.5lbs lower this morning.

Start weight: 121.4kg
Current weight: 115.1kg
Total loss: 6.3kg / 13.9lbs in 7 weeks
Goal weight: 78kg (might change)

2.5mg dose
Week 1: 120.7kg - 0.7kg / 1.5lbs
Week 2: 119.4kg - 1.3kg / 2.9lbs
Week 3: 118.2kg - 1.2kg / 2.6lbs
Week 4: 117.8kg - 0.4kg / 0.9lbs

3.75mg dose
Week 5: 116.7kg - 1.1kg / 2.4lbs
Week 6: 115.4kg - 1.3kg / 2.9lbs
Week 7: 115.1kg - 0.3kg / 0.7lbs

I'm trying to see where I'm going to get my next pen from... I'm want to buy a 7.5mg. Anyone know of any good discounts?

UnimaginableWindBird · 17/10/2025 16:57

Weigh in and jab day for me, too.

Start Weight: 211 lbs, BMI 34.1
1st Goal Weight: 190 lbs (10% bodyweight loss)
Current Weight: 196 lbs, BMI 31.5
Total loss: 15 lb

Mounjaro, 2.5
Week 1: -1.4 lb
Week 2: -4.4 lb
Week 3: - 2.6lb
Week 4: - 2.4lb

Week 5: - 1.8lb
Week 6: - 2.4lb

So in total, I have so far apparently lost the weight of ten dozen large eggs.

Given my pattern of weight loss so far, I'm going to order another 2.5mg for my next round of jabs.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 17/10/2025 17:10

@maz99 I’ve been ordering from weprescribe and have a referral code for £40 off from your first order. Let me know if you want to try them and I will PM the code. There’s also a section under Money dedicated for promo codes.

I'm not sure about the discounts on the monj site, because I tried to use the code for Get a Drip and it didn't work

What dose are you on at the moment? A 2st loss in just 8 weeks is fantastic, are you tracking calories, if so what is your daily total? I think I might be having too many even though it is based on my TDEE.

After 1 week on 5g, I lost a rather disappointing 1lb this week, making a total loss of 8 lbs since starting Mounjaro.

SW 18.5st
CW 17.1st
TW No sure!
Lost 8 lb

I began dieting back in April/May ( not sure of exact date as I was not weighing myself for several weeks) and had lost 21lb before starting to use the WLIs. I wanted to boost my weight loss ahead of knee replacement surgery and my doctor was in agreement with my reasons for starting Mounjaro.

I think I will reduce my calorie intake as I am unable to do any exercise due to being in constant pain and needing two sticks to walk. My TDEE is just over 1400 cals and I’ve just redone it and spotted that only gives a 0.5kg loss per week. I will go down to 1200 I think.

Thank you! I'm sorry to read about the different side effects you've been having, you've had it really rough so far!

I'm probably not the best person to ask for what i've been eating as i'm still eating the same things as when I started. I'm a real creature of habit so i've been roughly around the same calorie intake daily since the end of September. I'm getting bored of it now but it is hitting the numbers it needs to.

My TDEE is 1200 and i'm somewhere between 1000 and 1150 each day. Protein mostly sits around the 90s. I'll attach my Nutracheck numbers for today.
I'm only 5 ft 2 so probably why my TDEE is quite low. I'll be jumping up to 5mg next week as i've been feeling hungry a lot lately and i'm started to think about chocolate 🍫 🫠

just had jab 4, I was really hungry the last 2-3 days, kind of regretting getting another 2.5pen somewhat, but I’ll see how I get on this week.

GhostOrchid · 17/10/2025 19:03

Ah, we’re jab twins @Shwighty1 although I’ve got a couple of stone on you. I’ve also been really hungry the last 2-3 days. I’ll see how I get on this week but plan to go up to a higher dose.

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 17/10/2025 21:11

@maz99 I have a £50 Voy code if you need it and husband has a £100 for Numan. DM if you’d like either :)

Is it possible you're losing a bit of muscle too, so you're looking less toned? Are you keeping an eye on protein intake and getting some exercise? I do struggle to get enough protein but having a protein shake each morning for breakfast to try to up it.

SoUncertain · 17/10/2025 22:53

I have a new strange thing this week with my increased dose. Noticed that I have a red slightly itchy circle around my injection site. Of course I went to Dr Google expecting horror stories, but apparently it's quite a common side effect if you go up a dose and your skin is particularly reactive. Some people have it every week and just put antihistamine cream on it. Just wanted to mention on case anyone else experiences this going up a dose!

Of course, if you feel poorly or it hurts or leaks fluid, you might have an infection, so get it checked. That's my disclaimer out the way!

I am, yes. I'm eating a high protein diet that keeps me full for ages. And exercising, though I do probably need to vary my methods a bit.

jigsawmeup · 18/10/2025 08:25

I am having quite a rough week. I did my 3rd jab of my 5mg pen on Monday and have had really awful sleep since then. This involves waking at 2.30am every day and sometimes not being able to go back to sleep at all as my mind is racing. I have also had zero appetite suppression since I started taking mounjaro and have had to rely on willpower alone, which is so difficult when tired. I'm really not sure whether it's worth me continuing with the last two doses, but at the same time I have lost 13lb and don't want to gain that back. Really difficult to know what to do. No weight loss this week so far.

outofofficeagain · 18/10/2025 09:36

Apparently it’s called a ‘belly apron’ I have one anyway so slightly concerned about it getting worse. Slow weight loss, muscle building and hydration all help. Plenty of planks.

I’ve been comparing this to the last time I lost weight 2 years ago. Same start date (1st sept), same start weight.

i’m losing weight at exactly the same weight as low-carbing but that was absolute torture and all fell apart at Christmas. This feels much more sustainable.

Good morning all! Another weekly update from me.

W8D1 2.5mg
SW 19st 3lbs
CW 17st
GW1 15st
GW2 13st
Last week - 3lbs, total of 31lbs/14kg and halfway to my first target weight!

I’ve ordered my next pen and whilst I’m still losing well, I have decided to increase the dose to 3.5mg or 3.75mg. The food noise is coming back and no real suppression which means that staying within my calorie targets relies on willpower and conscious food choices. I know that’s good in the long term but I feel I need little bit of help here.

Question for people taking collagen. Which form/brand you are using? I’ve been taking Absolute Collagen (£56 for 28 days) but with mj cost, I’m looking for something more affordable if possible.

UnimaginableWindBird · 18/10/2025 10:21

Bovine collagen made me feel really sick, so I've been taking Hunter& Gather Rise and Glow marine collagen every morning and also making my own bone broth in the instant pot and also using the Freja's bone broth sachets and using those in cooking or for drinks a couple of times a week.

I’ve not really had any appetite suppression either since starting on Mounjaro, I took my second 5mg jab yesterday and am also relying on will power! Luckily my previous few months dieting by intermittent fasting has helped get used to that!

I seem to think more about food now as well, now that I’m counting calories rather than mainly choosing healthy meals with no snacking, I spend too much time planning what to eat for my next meal!

I’m also having second thoughts about continuing mainly due to the awful side effects I am having a couple of days after each jab - let’s just say I spend far too much time in the bathroom! I will finish this pen then talk to the pharmacist at the shop I buy my Mounjaro from about what to do. I have proved to myself that I can diet without taking WLIs but I was hoping I would lose more weight than before. I seem to have slowed down my weight loss instead!

I jabbed a day early this week so that if I have a dodgy tummy again it would occur over the weekend rather than on Monday or Tuesday when I am very busy.
