Suppression for me on somewhere between 2.5mg and 3.75mg is a bit crazy since yesterday. Really don’t want to eat. Managed half a steak wrap, a few crispbreads and a protein yogurt drink during the day and couldn’t settle to sleep last night.

RudyTuesday24 · 16/10/2025 11:13

Hey everyone just wanted to give an update on my progress. I took my first 2.5mg on 2nd September so have taken 7 jabs in total. I'm now down 15.5lbs and have stuck to 2.5mg as my suppression is really good and I have no side effects now. Just deciding if I should stick to 2.5mg again for month 3 or up to 5 but seems pointless if I am still getting such good supression.

So pleased to see everyone's progress! I am also in the 'high suppression' 3.75mg club. Can barely stomach any food at the moment, but I don't think that's helped by the horrendous sciatica I've beem struggling with. My 'back pain' became beyond excrutiating yesterday and I was taken to ED in an ambulance - mortifying!! That said, I do now have many, many painkillers and they are helping. I'm now confined to bed, so embracing suppression because I'm really upset that this might undo all my hard work so far.

It's jab day for me, and I'm sticking with 3.75mg. Will weigh again on Sunday, but I'm not expecting any movement this week. Urgh.

Oh my goodness! Glad you're ok xx

Question for those who have gone up to 3.75mg. Are you counting the clicks or using syringe? How many days over the 30 day recommendation are you planning to use the pen? And the final one, are you keeping the pen in a fridge?

I’m still losing weight on 2.5mg but suppression is gone by day 4 and I’m using lot of willpower to keep away from extra food so still staying with my calorie allowance. But it’s hard and I’m planning to order 5mg pen next, just not sure which dose to take. Also debating if I should take the next dose earlier than it’s due.

Chopsy123 · 16/10/2025 12:40

@outofofficeagain. Do you have the syringes for the Golden Dose? You could use them for the remaining doses if you’re worried about the pen being faulty now?

@MoreIcedLattePlease oof, that sounds very nasty. Look after yourself and don’t worry. A few days rest isn’t going to undo anything. x

Chopsy123 · 16/10/2025 12:49

I ordered my first 5mg pen today. I intend to carry on with 2.5mg doses for now although might think about dosing every 6 days rather than 7. 🤔

Also, I order from Northern Ireland and they post it down to me in the south. I had to post my doctor’s prescription initially and they keep it on file.
When I ordered my new 5mg today they rang me to say I’d already had a 5mg and my next pen should be 7.5mg! 😱

I told them I’d only ordered 2 x 2.5mg pens so far. Apparently, they’re read my prescription as being for one pen a month and going up in strength each time as all the strengths are mentioned. I honestly don’t think my GP intended that.

They’ve agreed to send me the 5mg one but said if I don’t want the 7.5mg next time, I’ll need a revised prescription. I know my GP will be fine with whatever I choose.

Anyone else had any similar experiences regarding prescriptions?

MoreIcedLattePlease · 16/10/2025 13:05

Thanks all, appreciate the good wishes.

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite I've been click counting so far. I do have syringes, but I only bought 10 so trying to save just for the end dose(s) of the pen. I'm currently using a 5mg pen, and had 7.5mg delivered earlier this week. Juniper send a couple of extra needles with each pen so I have enough for a few weeks. When I move to Bupa, I may need to buy a box of pen needles though! I'm keeping mine in the fridge and more than happy with that as a risk assessment tbh. I think the risk of contamination is miniscule, and the biggest 'problem' would be reduced efficacy if past the use by date. My pens' dates are into 2027 so no issue there. I do have a background in pharmaceuticals though, so appreciate not everyone is as comfortable with any sort of off-label use of meds.

@Chopsy123 I've never heard of that! Fortunate enough to be in England though, and using a subscription service they automatically put it up - that said, they do 'check in' each month and ask if I'm happy with the dose they're sending, which I appreciate. Could you accept the 7.5mg and then microdose? It would last longer!

JustPickleRick · 16/10/2025 13:12

Interesting reading all of these posts about doses. I'm finding myself very hungry a lot these days and i've got a 5mg pen to start next friday. Ready for the jump now! I will be going straight up to 5 as i'm not faffing around with doses or chancing the pen for 8/9 weeks. Each to their own on that one.

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 16/10/2025 13:26

@MoreIcedLattePlease Yikes! Glad you’re ok!
@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite I got the rest out of my first pen and a bit from husband’s.” with a syringe. Currently not sure I am ok with this much suppression, so not yet certain whether I’ll go back to 2.5mg or not.

Bugling · 16/10/2025 14:12

@MoreIcedLattePlease that sounds awful! I had sciatica when pregnant and it was so painful.

Last 3 days I’ve had painful indigestion/trapped wind/just gurgling stomach and I really don’t know why it’s come on now 5 weeks in on 2.5. I had some sugar free fizzy drinks on Monday but it’s still like that now. Am still eating little and only really twice a day, trying to drink lots of water but it’s keeping me awake. It’s quite high up trapped wind in the upper part of my stomach. I’ve just taken some Movicol in case it’s because I am a bit backed up. I’m probably not going to inject tomorrow if I still feel bad because it’s making me not want to eat anyway and I don’t want it to get worse! So I might on Saturday. It’s not my weigh in until tomorrow but this morning I was 15 stone 1 so only 1lb down, I feel like a balloon though! I’d love it to be 14s13 tomorrow so I’d already be into a new stone catergory (started on 16s 4) but unlikely to be 2lb of bloat. We are going away first weekend of half term and I was planning to not inject until after, so will focus on dropping more next week!

I too am thinking I’ll order a 5mg pen next time, so I could do a couple more 2.5 doses and move up gradually, or stick to 2.5mg if it still works. I have concerns that I can feel sick easily and then it’s a struggle to get enough protein and veg in because all I can manage is basic carbs.

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 16/10/2025 17:39

@bugling Those symptoms sound like wind. Peppermint tea might help, along with antacids.

You only get five normal doses out of 3.75 anyway, so that's within 30 days (day 0, 7, 14, 21, and 28). Golden dose would take you to 35 days, which is obviously not recommended but a personal choice. Tbh I probably will risk that. I'm using clicks because it's easier than syringe.

I keep pen in the fridge all the time, in it's box and then in a plastic sealed bag so it doesn't get anything on it.

3.75mg will give you five doses, which is within the 30 day window (days 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28). But each to their own on the faff to be fair!

No, Asda will let me order one dose either side of my current one. That's kinda bad that they're forcing you up each time!

I counted the 45 clicks for 3.75mg, my suppression is really high after losing it on 2.5 in week 3. I will get 5 doses which keeps me in the 30 days. I’m toying with the idea of doing the GD which will be day 35 as I keep it in the fridge. I managed to easily hard twist my 2.5 pen at the end so could’ve used it but chose not to as I needed a higher dose. I don’t like the idea of using a syringe as I have massive medical anxiety and the syringe process freaks my unstable brain out 😆

I did take jab 4 of 2.5 early by 2 days and it really increased my suppression in week 4 although it did start to wear off slightly by the end of the week.

Kazzaa46 · 16/10/2025 18:50

Is anyone struggling with sleep? I can fall asleep but then wake up at about 2am, struggle to get back to sleep and then have broken sleep. I looked to take Phenergan which has worked for me in the past but it says it interacts with MJ. I’ve tried magnesium but it hasn’t helped.

Also I keep reading posts about hair loss which is worrying me. I know 4 people who have lost weight on MJ and not lost hair but so many are posting about it happening to them 😬

Me too. Since going higher than 2.5mg (3 ish). Couldn't settle last night.

Ihateslugs · 17/10/2025 00:55

I took my dose a day early this week as I need to do some prep this weekend for a big WI meeting I’m chairing next Tuesday. I have had a reaction a couple of days after each dose I’ve taken, either diarrhoea, constipation or both! As well as bake a cake on Sunday, I need to load up a pull along wagon to get catering stuff from the garage into my car and then to the venue. And finish my paperwork ahead of the meeting. So I can’t afford to be ill on a Sunday or Monday so I’m hoping to be over any side effects by Saturday night!

So it was my second 5mg dose and I’m still waiting for any suppression or feeling full after eating. I do have good will power and am able to stick to my daily calorie limit but I was hoping that Mounjaro would make things easier and speed up the weight loss. My official weigh in day is tomorrow but I don’t think I’ve lost anything this week, my loss so far is a disappointing 5.6lb over the 5 weeks on WLIs.

Im going to talk to my pharmacist when I go to the shop to order my next pen, I might give it one more pen then stop using Mounjaro and just rely on dieting as I’ve been doing since April - I lost almost 2 stone before I began taking Mounjaro I think I’ll stay on 5mg unless my next two doses are free of side effects, I don’t think I can cope with them getting worse!

It’s lovely to hear how well some people are doing, sadly I think I might be one of the few people who do not get on with Mounjaro.

SoUncertain · 17/10/2025 04:05

@Ihateslugs I really feel for you! You've had awful side effects and like you say, you're not feeling the benefit of the medicine. I hope it all works out for you!

I'm really worried about this too 😩 i've got very thick hair so it would be noticeable quickly if i start losing it. I'm not really sure there's any way to stop it either.

Sleep wise, I keep waking up around 3ish, going the toilet and having my mind racing with stuff for the next day 😅 I can usually get back to sleep though thankfully.

What dose are you on at the moment? A 2st loss in just 8 weeks is fantastic, are you tracking calories, if so what is your daily total? I think I might be having too many even though it is based on my TDEE.

After 1 week on 5g, I lost a rather disappointing 1lb this week, making a total loss of 8 lbs since starting Mounjaro.

SW 18.5st
CW 17.1st
TW No sure!
Lost 8 lb

I began dieting back in April/May ( not sure of exact date as I was not weighing myself for several weeks) and had lost 21lb before starting to use the WLIs. I wanted to boost my weight loss ahead of knee replacement surgery and my doctor was in agreement with my reasons for starting Mounjaro.

I think I will reduce my calorie intake as I am unable to do any exercise due to being in constant pain and needing two sticks to walk. My TDEE is just over 1400 cals and I’ve just redone it and spotted that only gives a 0.5kg loss per week. I will go down to 1200 I think.

Atalosswhat2do · 17/10/2025 08:46

Well done @JustPickleRickthats amazing! 👏🏼

@Kazzaa46I haven’t had any issue with hair loss thankfully! I have really fine hair, and was worried about this so I started taking a Collagen supplement when I started MJ to avoid this. I have noticed a visible difference in my hair & skin which is a bonus (my baggy eyes have tightened up). Sadly I’m an overthinker so generally struggle with sleep, I’ve resorted to listening to some ‘sleep mindfulness’ sessions over the last couple of weeks which has helped. I track everything (food, sleep, exercise & health) through Fitbit.

SerafinasGoose · 17/10/2025 09:13

Ha! I got the gold rosette from Nutracheck too.

I’ve not seen much movement this week but did for the two preceding weeks so I’m happy with that. I’m still on 14 st with a total of 14 lbs lost.

But in the past week my body composition has noticeably changed - sorry in advance for TMI. The flesh on my abdomen and bum cheeks is very soft now. Worse, there’s a change in my silhouette - the fat around my abdomen has literally headed south. It’s sort of ‘sunk’ downward so that I’m now carrying a much more noticeable roll of flesh just around the top of my hips and lower back. And so much softer. Trousers and leggings look dreadful on me: I did an incredulous double-take when I accidentally caught sight of myself in the mirror: the change really is that obvious.

I so hope this isn’t the onset of the dreaded loose skin, which I’ve never had when dieting before. I also hope it’s a stage of transition and worth the price of being slimmer and healthier. But it’s weird to witness your body shape change in under two months like that. (I haven’t yet been through menopause but am at the age where it should be getting close).

It’s a bit discombobulating. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
