@Zempy I’d just titrated down to 5mg and was hoping to get to 2.5mg but I’ve bumped my dose up to try to get on top of this small gain.

I was hungry but not greedy on 5mg until I threw all my progress away and started ‘treating’ myself too often. I’m a bit concerned that I’ll need to maintain on a higher dose than my bank account can manage so I’m keeping a switch to wegovy in mind

2025istheyeari · 04/11/2025 10:11

Amazing @BreezyPeer🎉🎉. I’m currently 23.5 bmi and if I lose these last 3 pounds it’ll be 23. I’m comfortable with that as it’s well within the range ( which as we know is only 1 measure) and I’m struggling so much to lose these last few pounds that I think anything below is unattainable!! I would love to try to lose a couple before hols etc.

@Jinshope the knee gets better soon. I have a collapsible white stick which I hate using but use v occasionally if I have to be on commuter trains to let people know I’m partially sighted, I got it after a particularly unpleasant person had a real go at me for bumping into them🫣. It is amazing the extra space you’re given.

@Zempy I'm thinking the same with my maintenance dose, 7.5 didn’t touch the sides last week which surprised me. I am being much more mindful this week so will see how it goes I think.

Have a great day losers!

HeidiLite · 04/11/2025 10:15

@Zempy I did 2.5 every 10 days for a while and it worked well, but after holidays went up to 3.75, as need a bit of a kick on the backside not to let the weight creep up again. Planning to go down again soon.

MJalltheway · 04/11/2025 10:24

@tinyemmy BMI already takes height into account so anywhere in your healthy range is good. Just depends where you feel comfortable. I'm quite a large frame as well as being tall so I wouldn't want to go the lower end of my BMI range but my DM is small and tiny frame so she needs to be in the lower half to be comfortable. (I have a hilarious pic of my 6'5" son giving his 5'2" grandma a cuddle!)

DGonMJ · 04/11/2025 10:45

@Zempy I’m on 2.5mg currently. I never went above 5mg and titrated very very slowly down to 2.5 from June to end of August. I continued to lose weight that whole time. But now I’ve properly maintained since then. I did try a couple of doses 10 days apart, but the could see the slow rise over the month with that. So I’m back to every 7 days.
I’d like to get to eventually get to 1.25mg weekly. But I must admit being on 2.5mg means I don’t have to feel deprived or calorie count to maintain. I eat what I fancy, and mostly that’s healthy, but sometimes it’s quite high fat or high sugar and it doesn’t seem to affect me.

@tinyemmy I also get strong sugar cravings (second half of cycle), if i feel like it’s getting a bit much I have to make a concerted effort to choose fruit first - it doesn’t always work but I’m hoping that the fibre in the fruit will help counterbalance the refined sugars in the biscuit/cake/pastry that my brain has fixated on. We also have plain Greek yoghurt with frozen berries, toasted nuts/seeds and honey almost every evening for pudding. The yogurt helps fill my belly, the berries and honey satisfies the need for something sweet and the nuts help with crunch. I’ve come to look forward to it. Have started adding stewed seasonal fruit just to vary it up. Last month it was figs, M&S had some rhubarb (although not sure it was seasonal!) and then just did some plums.

tinyemmy · 04/11/2025 13:03

@zempy2.5mg weekly usually (although I had week off on holiday)

@Thelittlestranger I am happy with my size, my thighs are still huge, but I think if I lose any more weight they will probably be saggy so probably best to have them with a bit of fat

Thank you @MJallthewayI'm not sure. I guess I'm average so middle is probably about right

@DGonMJ thank you. I usually have baked apples and greek yogurt for pudding. I then have some hifi bars. I think I might just need to stay on 2.5 or a bit higher. I had hoped to reduce the dose but my sugar monster comes back. I should probably add nuts to it, I always forget that but I think that makes a difference to the satiety / satisfaction level. I shall try and remember tonight!!

meatyryvita · 04/11/2025 16:50

Congratulations @BreezyPeer what an achievement! You must feel awesome.

I'm a bit shorter than you (I'm 5'6/165.5cm on a good day) and so have a way to go yet.

@HeidiLite glad you're not beating yourself up about it - it's normal to have rubbish eating days (I'm eating badly at the moment due to home life and work being so busy and having very little time to actually stop to cook something nourishing).

Yay @BreezyPeer delighted for you .

Everyone has made so much progress, despite the frustrations, plateaus and ills.

myladyjane · 04/11/2025 21:15

@BreezyPeer top work! Congratulations

BreezyPeer · 04/11/2025 21:30

@BlueLimes Thank you 😊 despite everything I am here!
@meatyryvita Thank you! Weirdly, it's been a difficult day ( for other reasons) I've only just remembered about hitting my goal which has taken the edge off a rubbishy day!
@tinyemmy thank you for the maintenance tips, I am lapping it all up now!
I think any healthy bmi is great! Also, maintenance for 5 months is very impressive 👏
@DGonMJ Thank you! also taking on board all your maintenance tips. I do need to think more about my cycle and how that is influencing things. But the uncertainty of peri menopause means this is tricky.
I have mostly done 5mg all the way through with a stretch of 3.75mg, weeks of 6mg and 2 weeks at 7.5mg. I've been back on 5mg for 10 jabs now. I did stretch the dose to 10 days but it was too complicated working out when to jab so I will start to reduce the dose now but stick at weekly.
@2025istheyeari thank you! I hear you about those last few lbs! They go on forever 🙄
@Jins knowing what to maintain at is a huge thing really. I am hoping to move down slowly to 2.5mg but obviously not sure how that will work
Thank you! I think it's the right bmi for me, but knowing when to stop is really difficult.

@HeidiLite that is a great idea about the 5st weight. I reckon it's 32kg. I will attempt to lift it and let you know!
@Zempy thank you! The 5st club sounds like a great club to join
@PenelopesPursuitPrevails thank you! I know 4st probably isn't what you were hoping for but it is epic! Especially as we only started this journey 11 months ago! Xx
@MJalltheway thank you! Well done on losing that pesky holiday weight!
@Thelittlestranger thank you!

Thank you everyone. I'm loving all the positivity 😇 and maintenance chat as well as big boost for everyone still actively losing.
Xxx

Morning 🌄 losers!
Have a great day xxx

Jins · 05/11/2025 08:35

Morning losers!

Well my bumped up dose seems to have hit the spot as the pesky two pounds have vanished and taken another one with them! Another couple of days to next jab. I’ve loved the level of suppression, forgetting to eat and not being able to finish a meal. It’s a bit of a concern if I’m honest, I shouldn’t feel so happy about not eating and losing weight at this point. I need to wrap my head round me being in control of what I eat rather than a jab.

I had to take DS1s old car for an MOT yesterday and visited a couple of charity shops. Got a pair of black skinny jeans that fit pretty well for £3 so a wardrobe gap has been filled. They aren’t actually skinny on me as my legs are ridiculously thin but they fit waist and hips so they look fine.

Have a great day everyone

HeidiLite · 05/11/2025 09:12

Happy midweek, losers!

I know what you mean, @Jins . I find it difficult not to congratulate myself when I manage to basically starve. That's not good. But also not surprising after a lifetime of dieting and restricting myself.

On another topic, why are so many online retailers suddenly replacing their sizing charts with some fancy solutions that are supposed to calculate your size only based on your height and weight? That makes no sense whatsoever - depends on your body composition, and body shape, surely? I jsut tried one that based on my weight and height told me I'm French size 38. Except that based on measurements (when I finally found the good old measurement table, hidden away) I'm very comfortably 34. Also won't account for pear shapes, bigger boobs, etc.

Zempy · 05/11/2025 09:30

Yeah the dieting mindset is so hard to shake off when you have done it for decades.

I am actually doing pretty well now, sticking at 8:7. But every time I get on the scale there’s a tiny bit of disappointment it doesn’t register less than that.

MJalltheway · 05/11/2025 10:44

Really interesting thoughts about the dieting mindset. I totally agree, I can't actually conceive of how to be 'normal' around food. This medication has given me months and months of 'being normal' though with very little effort. I just don't know how to carry it on afterwards but I am going to do my damned hardest. it's the first time that I am thinking that my current way of eating is sustainable though. Prioritising whole foods, protein and fibre just has to be the way to go. In conjunction with all the exercise I now do, I do feel quite hopeful that this will stick.

Down to my lowest weight today (by 100g but it all counts!). Inching towards goal still!

Polkadotdash · 05/11/2025 13:26

I’m having a very off week. Third week of 1mg Wegovy jab and I’m so sickly. I’ve not had any symptoms at all since I switched in September. Now I feel like I’m on a permanent sugar crash. The worst trigger seems to be milk, which is so weird. I am due to be going up to 1.7mg in 10 days so I’m hoping this settles. Worst of all I haven’t lost any bloody weight. Been stuck going up and down around the 12stone 7lbs mark since August.

HeidiLite · 05/11/2025 14:05

So tired today.
Only got back around midnight from the business trip and woke up at 5, as clearly the large and very tasty poppy seed bun I bought at the train station didn't agree with me, had very uncomfortable trapped wind. Oh well, was worth it. Calories consumed while travelling don't count, right?

WFH and weather is beautiful so should really take a break and go for a little run with dogs. Trying to find the motivation.

Jins · 05/11/2025 16:02

My outdoor oodie has arrived and I love it. I’m glad I bought the S/M size though. It’s supposed to be washed and dried before first use to fluff it up but that’s not happening. Probably not as warm as a dry robe and definitely not as waterproof but it’s perfect for my needs.

I’ve been on a hunt for sweet things that feel like a treat but with a fraction of the calories and I’ve found some Rice Krispie squares dupes in Aldi. About 150 calories for the caramel one which is tooth achingly sweet and therefore ideal. I’ve picked up some more sorbet as well. It’s as well to be prepared although the way I feel at the moment it’ll be a while before I eat them.

Sorry things aren’t going well @Polkadotdash. I hope the wegovy starts working well for you soon

DGonMJ · 05/11/2025 17:54

Evening losers. I’m being interviewed tomorrow morning by our news team, and have to figure out what to wear tonight. I think it’ll be outdoors so will pick a nice coat. So glad I fit into my smart wool coat. Couldn’t have worn it this time last year!

BreezyPeer · 05/11/2025 22:47

Have a good evening losers xxx

Thelittlestranger · 06/11/2025 06:27

Morning - accountability, I had two glasses of wine last night after work. I'm ok with it, it wasn't at home and met up with an old colleague. No chocolate!!

Scales are looking favourable.

I'm tackling a bug at the moment - it's in my throat and I'm just daring it to get any worse.

I have yoga at lunch today, and quiet weekend ahead. Bring on the end of the week. Enjoy your Thursdays...

So pleased to have met my goal!! I was so worried it wouldn't stick until actual weigh day! I am not going to actively lose any more weight as I am happy now with how I look and feel. I am going to use 10st 7lb as a bottom weight not to go below. I would like to stay within about half a stone of 11st. So within 4ish lb either side.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx ❤️
