@meatyryvita checked Palome, they indeed have some pretty things! Not cheap, but I also think it's better to have a couple of good quality items than a 100 cheap things that don't fit or flatter

meatyryvita · 27/09/2025 10:10

@HeidiLite ive got a couple of their tops and have another arriving today. The quality is excellent and they’re timeless pieces - well worth the investment IMHO!

Happy weekend everyone!

I’ve found a plug for the small bath in our room so I’m having a lovely relaxing bath. We’ve done so much walking over the last two days that my feet feel raw. We’re having a chilled day in resort today - might wander round to st Julian’s later but the pool is more likely. I picked a great day to jab as tonight is Mexican night. Not my favourite cuisine so I’ll take my GF crackers to dinner and make full use of the cheese and salad bar.

I’m definitely feeling heavier and fatter but I don’t care as now I know I can get back on track back at home. Such an improvement from last year when if the weight went on it stayed on. Caught sight of myself in the bathroom mirror before it steamed up and the apron tummy and flat bum isn’t a great look so I’m definitely not going to look in future.

Polkadotdash · 27/09/2025 10:19

Morning all and checking in for the new thread.
I had a weird and wonderful night at the school PTA quiz last night. First of all, all my other team members pulled out last minute. So I decided to go it alone. I was so nervous though, I couldn’t eat before I went. So silly really. Anyway, the teachers team felt sorry for me and adopted me in. And then we won!!

Anyway, I’ve woken up soooooo hungry this morning.

BlueLimes · 27/09/2025 11:54

Thanks for the new thread @meatyryvita
look in Oliver bonas @myladyjane

Have a lovely day all.

Morning my autumn conkers.

well done @BreezyPeer and enjoy your Pilates workshop. My mother is a devotee and slippery as an eel so I have the envy!

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails I would say enjoy the gardening but it’s the devils pursuit so happy tidying.

i need to get up (but mr Jane does insist on those teas in bed) and clean the bathroom then off for a mooch around the shops and some lunch just us two. I am thinking I will finally download the free trial of the peloton app so a bit of playing on that then strictly, tv binge with dds and bed. Quite looking forward to my day tbh.

shopping wise I have realised I need colour! I am not a neutrals girl really. So hoping I can find a luridly bright sweatshirt/jumper somewhere.

From my shopping trawl this morning, scamp and dude is the place for luridly bright knitwear...

mince3point14159265 · 27/09/2025 12:44

Thanks for the shiny new thread @meatyryvita

Jab & weigh day for me (no. 40!). 10st 8.4 lbs, which is a loss of 1.4lbs this week. Would be pleased with this but had a bit of a whoosh earlier this week and have been weighing 10st 7-something all week 😢. Sod's Law! We were out for dinner last night, so hopefully it's just that. We were at Gunpowder (delish! 🤤) so maybe there was a whole load of lead shot in there too! 🤣

Hope everyone has a fab weekend 🥰

myladyjane · 27/09/2025 14:50

No luck sweatshirt wise. I looked at Oliver bonas and scamp and dude (saw one I liked but none left on my size) plus all your normal high st places and places like seasalt and fatface where I occasionally get the odd thing. And Joanie (who have a 40% off weekend).

there are a couple on sugarhill Brighton but am not sure I can bring myself to pay 60 quid for a sweatshirt with a shark on it much as I love it. I have one from neon marl and it was expensive for what it was so not too tempted to look there. There is one very boring bright pink one in next but it feels a bit anti climatic

this is why I hate clothes shopping. I can never get what I have in my head. It’s almost not quite right and like @HeidiLite I don’t want lots of almost right cheap things.

HeidiLite · 27/09/2025 15:09

I was packing away summer clothes. My wardrobe is looking very bare at the moment.
All I wanted last winter was to slim down enough so I could fit into my winter clothes again, as I had a ton that I could not wear any more and was limited to a few items that fit. From that perspective - this journey has been a massive fail 😀

MJalltheway · 27/09/2025 16:24

Checked into hotel for the night, I had planned a trip to the gym but I'm quite knackered so I'm going to relax instead.

Not a hugely successful trip to the outlet village earlier. Turns out that most of the sale stuff is either size XS or XL, very little in my size now!
I did get a couple of bargain Sweaty Betty leggings though, one pair was £17! And a lovely woollen jacket from phase 8.
Im also a lot more discerning about what I'm buying now, I don't have to just buy what fits, I can actually choose on the basis of what I like and what suits me!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 28/09/2025 06:34

@MJalltheway I hope you had a nice night.

I like BrandAlley for reductions. I only tend to buy the brands I buy anyway, Cos, Hush, Whistles, Jigsaw. The reductions can be great. My leather jacket was less than half price recently.

@myladyjane BA had a load of sweat shirts from those 👆brands the other week.

81.6kg here this morning. Good news.

2025istheyeari · 28/09/2025 07:50

Thanks @meatyryvita! hope you’re feeling better and that the birthday celebrations were fabulous!
Another one needing an entire new winter wardrobe and trying to be a bit more intentional. I’ve also been looking at Palome, great to know it’s good, their cashmere looks amazing and I like the look of their jeans but having v long legs I’m not sure of the length measurements, will have to have more of a look.

Well done @BreezyPeer @mince3point14159265 and @PenelopesPursuitPrevails , amazing news 🎉. @mince3point14159265 im sure it was the meal, and still a fab loss!!

@Jins thats the magic with this isn’t it, unlike all previous ‘diets’ you know you can get straight back to eating normally after hols and get back to where you were. Hope your pool day good.

@Polkadotdash quiz night sounds fab, well done 🧐.

We’re away for the weekend, went out for a lovely Thai meal last night, I had green papaya salad and a red prawn curry plus 1 1/2 beers, didn’t eat all of the curry and omg the nausea and stomach cramps last night 🫣.

Happy Sunday losers!

meatyryvita · 28/09/2025 08:03

Thanks @2025istheyeari - starting to perk up a bit today (am wondering if I’ve had the latest covid strain given how long this is going on and how awful I’ve felt?). My latest Palome top arrived yesterday and it’s really beautiful. Not sure about jeans lengths (and I have the opposite issue - long body, short legs) but I think that Sézane jeans are quite long and lovely quality x

I've woken up with a cold. Thought something was funny, my heart rate was elevated the entire night, woke up several times - and now have a sore throat and the usual cold symptoms. Yay.

Will go to gym anyway, might make me feel better, especially the sauna. Then finish clothes sorting. Once I can get the part of my brain that goes 'But it's a nice item in good condition!! You could wear it!' to shut up, it is really satisfying to ruthlessly remove everything that does not quite fit right, or fits but I never wear, or is not my colour and doesn't go with anything else, or where I have a nicer, similar version, or things that are worn out and faded.

BreezyPeer · 28/09/2025 08:33

Morning 🌄 losers!
Another all time loss for me today (for quarter of a century at least!) Don't expect to keep it off to weigh day but great to see it on the scale. @mince3point14159265 I know how frustrating it is but over a lb at this stage of the journey is blooming good going! Well done
Also, another NSV yesterday. At the pilates workshop a lovely older lady, who I haven't seen in about 9 months and only ever sees me in lycra, made a point of very quietly and discreetly asking me about my loss and making sure that I am lifting weights. It was a lovely interaction between women!

I am still stalking vinted for various items in my size and my colours.
Yesterday me and DS16 went out for a pub lunch. It was lovely to open the wardrobe and see only things that fit and are in my size 😀
The wardrobe is slimmed down but I think there is already more I can actually wear!

@HeidiLite Hope your cold is better soon and the gym goes well!
@meatyryvita glad you are feeling a bit better. You are putting me onto brands I have never considered before. Buying better but less does open up new opportunities to buy more expensive items knowing they are beautiful and will last.
@MJalltheway @PenelopesPursuitPrevails thank you both for the brand ideas too!
@2025istheyeari love a Thai meal but sad that you haven't felt well 😔
@Polkadotdash sounds like you are a brilliant quiz team member! You can be on my team anytime 😊
@Jins hope your time away continues to go well! I am jealous! Planning a few days away for October half term. Maybe London or Cardiff

Feeling dusty today after two nights of over indulgence, and a very long walk yesterday. Now looking forward to a bit more mindful eating and no booze for a few weeks. Have a weekend at home without my DH next weekend and already looking forward to it!! Just got to get through another week of work first.

I did a splurge on cheap jumpers as I was fed up of wearing my DHs hoodies - but intent on buying a few nice items to fill out the wardrobe as we head into Autumn. Might look today...

DGonMJ · 28/09/2025 09:23

All this wardrobe clear out talk is making me think I need to give my hanging rails another go today. I had a massive clear out on vinted earlier in the year but the new purchases mean it’s looking a bit crammed again.

Maintenance update
Weigh in today is 58.4kg, up 0.15kg from yesterday - still below the 58.9kg spike. I jabbed approx 2.5mg from the bonus dose this morning instead of last night. I like being able to eat a healthy three meals a day again - it feels like my body is prioritising fat burning over fat storage at the moment, it’s just about getting the balance right to take in enough calories to not lose anymore. After my weight gain wobble the other week, I think it’s settled, so for now I’ll stick to the 10/11 day dosing schedule on 2.5mg till I’m done with this pen (one more dose, this is the longest I’ve used an open pen). And then see if I can get away with reducing to 1.25 every 7 days.

My fitness is improving, I don’t even notice when I’m walking up hill anymore. And I managed to do a 75kg sumo deadlift (failed on the 80kg), the goal is to work towards 90kg as that’ll be 1.5 times my body weight. I’m hoping the more muscle I have the less I’ll need to rely on MJ even for insulin stability.

Zempy · 28/09/2025 10:06

Get well soon to everyone who is suffering. I am only slightly hungover after my all day drinking session yesterday. Huge result! Weighed in at 9:0 which I kind of expected given all my 60th celebrations. Just one more birthday lunch to go next week then I am back on more mindful eating and no booze. Then I go on holiday to Malta!!! It does feel different now though doesn’t it? I don’t panic at “planned gain”.

I haven’t jabbed for ten days and I don’t feel ready to jab yet.

@HeidiLite I have ten thousand navy tops. They are all TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Honest!

Agree with Sugarhill Brighton for fun knitwear. Have a look on Vinted and click on Brand New With Tags. I don’t bother with Brand new without tags as some sellers appear to have a very liberal interpretation of that category.

I was planning a pyjama day but have to go to corner shop to drop off Vinted parcel. I won’t be doing much more than that though! Got a busy work week planned.

tinyemmy · 28/09/2025 10:18

@meatyryvita thank you for the new thread. I'm checking in and then will read back what I've missed on the old one.

Maintenance still going well, although I feel like I don't have a plan. I've been maintaining for 4 months but by mainly skipping breakfast, light lunch, normal dinner plus pudding and extra treats (yesterday was some chocolate). I feel like I should be counting or something. I also haven't been weighing. I last weighed on Monday last week before my jab. It all feels a little blasé.

My options are:

  • don't track, it seems to be going ok so far, but I am on 2.5 of mj weekly. Next jab tomorrow. I feel like I don't really have control
  • make a daily plan just on my notes on my phone, but not using calories or slimming world
  • track on slimming world
  • track on nutracheck (it's up for renewal, I need to decide whether to continue)

I shall be starting a new 5mg pen tomorrow. I intend to take 2.5 out of it until it's done. I have another 5mg in the fridge and need to decide when to order the next one. I feel like I could start to reduce down from 2.5 perhaps but don't want to use the pen for longer than 10 weeks, plus need to make sure I can still order...

MJalltheway · 28/09/2025 10:55

Morning lovely losers! I did end up going to the hotel gym after all. I'm not a gym goer usually, I do weights workouts at home and cardio classes. It was quite satisfying to be able to use heavier weights, I'm definitely going to start adding some gym visits into my exercise schedule.
There is covid circulating the kids' school already 🤦🏻‍♀️ we've managed to all avoid back to school lurgy so far, touch wood!

myladyjane · 28/09/2025 11:28

@tinyemmy when I previously lost/kept weight off, for me I found light tracking and regular weighing helpful. But I am a tracker to keep me accountable. When I stopped weighing that was the start of my downfall. I have read a couple of articles which suggest that weighing is one of the most crucial elements in maintenance but I think it’s all very individual.

I am having a style crisis I think. I am really really struggling to find clothes that work for me (whilst I’m not yet at goal I suspect clothes shape/style wise not much will change, maybe go to a 12/14 rather than my current 14/16). Yesterday’s frustrating shopping trip and a lot of online shopping yesterday cemented that. I genuinely don’t know where to look for clothes that are comfortable, practical, flattering and not total shite quality. In some ways has been made worse by losing weight as I’m not in the ‘thank Christ it fits’ category any more! I had ruled out doing a style consultation but actually I may book an online one for my birthday because otherwise I feel like I’m just throwing money away or buying cheap again. Has anyone ever done one? I’ve done a colour one but not even my colours work any more.

i did actually find some sweatshirts on Amazon in the end (you can get some gems amongst the shite when it comes to basics). Bright blue and bright purple but plain cotton blend.

HeidiLite · 28/09/2025 12:01

@myladyjane I've been thinking the same, really no idea what fits. And my shape has changed - my entire life I was dressing an hourglass figure with big boobs and larger backside, but now I am very rectangular. So I have no idea what I should be wearing.
Also with age have simply gone off many things, like anything knee length. But on the other hand, can wear whatever without thinking about it's fat hiding properties. I'm sure there are many things I previously couldn't wear but that would look good now - like those sailor troursers, they look fabulous!

@tinyemmy I'm also undecided about tracking. Really don't want to slip back and suddenly discover I have put on several kilos without even noticing. But also don't want to obsess over every bite for the rest of my life. Not easy.

I have done a style analysis, although pre-covid so it was in person. I don't really use it, although probably should look back on the notes. I remember things like jacket sleeves to thumb length, or something like that, A-line skirts etc.
I think it could be worth it if you have no idea, but you can probably guess!

I actually bought myself a little notebook whilst out, I'm thinking the day before make a good plan for the day and maybe I can use a different colour pen to bite how it differs and maybe my weight Bridget Jones style. Perhaps just once a week on a Monday is ok... @HeidiLite they often say maintenance is the hardest and I definitely agree. I've never actually maintained a lower weight before! I want to get into a good place so that I can reduce my dose and see what happens, but in order to do that I need to be clear on what maintenance looks like!

HeidiLite · 28/09/2025 12:45

it is harder in a way. When losing weight it's all about seeing smaller and smaller numbers, now I need to train my brain that seeing the same number is good. That's what I want. I don't want the weight to go down. I should not congratulate myself whenever I manage to skip a meal. It's a totally new concept for me.
