20% off at BrandAlley today with payday20. I've ordered a cardigan from Hush and a boiled wool sweater from Cos, both in a size M - hopefully they will fit, my leather jacket is a 14 and I am smaller on the top half so fingers crossed.

Polkadotdash · 28/09/2025 13:50

Day of jabs for me today. Blood test for anaemia, flu jab and then wegovy later. The joys of being fat, knackered and old! 🤣

I did waaaaay too much yesterday. Went to the National Portrait Gallery and I’m totally wiped out. Was a lovely day. But I’m paying for it now. I wonder when I will ever get fit again.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 28/09/2025 14:32

@Polkadotdash it really isn’t very long since you had major surgery. I’d expect anyone to be knackered at this stage. Come the spring you’ll be back to normal. 🤞 you are not anaemic. I’ve booked my flu jab for one evening next week, always surprises me when I get the invite, that time of the year again.

DGonMJ · 28/09/2025 15:38

@tinyemmy and @HeidiLite For maintenance, I weigh at least twice a week, unless I’m on holiday and have no access to scales. It’s important to me to check if the dose I’m on is either making me lose weight or gain. But I’m not tracking calories so much as I’d like to be led by whether I’m hungry or not. I found when I was tracking calories I’d force myself to eat on days where I wasn’t hungry (which felt counterintuitive to ‘learning good habits’), and then deny myself on days when I was.

Although, sometimes I’m curious, so I did a quick log of Friday’s meals on MFP and it was approx 2000 which is just over than my maintenance TDEE of 1976 (moderate exercise).

Despite not tracking - I am meal planning. I’m batch cooking with the help of chatGPT, I ask it to calculate recipes with portions around 500. So most days I’ll have 2 x 500cal meals, a 300-400cal breakfast and 2 x fruit/snacks a day, and maybe a 350 pudding.

DGonMJ · 28/09/2025 18:42

Just realised I had a brain fart earlier and did 2.5ml from a syringe instead of 2.5mg. So I’ve actually dosed closer to 2mg 🙄
Looks like I’ll be jabbing again next Sunday after all. So much for my 10 day dosage plan.

Starting to feel sore after yesterday’s session. Today I have baked a Salmon and Spinach lasagne (first time doing a non-beef one), and carrot cake oat bars for the DC healthy snacks. Have made no progress on wardrobe de-cluttering as I’ve mainly been in the kitchen. I did stock up on day and night moisturisers in the SpaceNK sale though. Good thing my bathroom drawers have been decluttered!

TicTac80 · 28/09/2025 22:45

waves hey guys, I realise that I've been crap and not posted here for AGES!! So hello all!! I hope that everyone is ok and keeping well. Me and the DC had a busy summer: work, A Level results for my DS1, camping holidays/meets, fixing the VW T2 even more and so on. One of my beautiful cats was killed in a hit and run at the end of July so I've been a mess about that, and then getting catio installed for the other cats. Blink and the weeks fly by, eh?

I've got one small dose left from the 10mg pen I got back in June/July. Scaled the doses right down and increased the days between each dose. I've had a bit of the hunger noise come back but am being strict with keeping an eye on . Going to try and order another pen to wean down even more - we'll see what Pharmulous says.

Over past 3months, I've maintained weight around 51-53kg. 51.75kg today. It did dip down to 49.75kg one week (which freaked me out a bit - my maine coon is more than one fifth of my body weight!)....but I got the weight back up to the 51-53kg range and have stuck at that. Really hope that I can keep to this sort of range. I feel comfy at this weight. I weigh myself 2-3 times a week. It's interesting to see the variations. I'm tracking food with MFP and also with Zoe (as I want to monitor stuff that is good for gut health).

Clothes-wise, I've managed to get some fab bargains in the charity shops, and I'm still getting kids clothes too (because why the hell not!). Exercise stats have been rubbish - I need to get back on track with that. I've sorted out my drawers and got rid off the bigger sized clothes. Reorganised drawers this evening as I let them get messy/disorganised. Got work tomorrow and have to head to bed now but I'll have a proper skim through threads when I have next day off :) Take care guys :D x

BreezyPeer · 28/09/2025 23:08

@TicTac80 nice to see you! Sorry to hear about your cat 😢
Well done on the maintenance xx

HeidiLite · 29/09/2025 07:01

sorry about the cat @TicTac80 but well done on maintenance.

My weight has been also quite stable around 57 kilos, dropped to 55.9 at one point, which is really not needed, I'm 5'6'' and having trouble finding enough fat on my body to jab. 😁Calves still looking sturdy enough to carry livestock up the hill, but oh well.

Sauna and gym didn't manage to get rid of the cold bug I've caught, still feeling blah, but have a lunctime Bodypump class to teach - we don't have enough instructors, very challenging to find someone last minute.

BreezyPeer · 29/09/2025 07:13

Morning 🌄 losers!
@HeidiLite hope you are well enough to teach today. Look after yourself!
I have a whole day meeting and then pilates today.
Plus, while I'm away I'm hoping the end of some house jobs will get finished by the builder. Can't wait to get it all done!
Hope everyone has a great Monday xx

Jins · 29/09/2025 07:28

Morning losers.

It’s my last full day in Malta and I don’t want to come home. The weather has been great. We’ve had rain but managed to avoid it. Off to the 3 cities today.

Then home to assess the damage. I’ve eaten well but more than I would at home as the hotel food is excellent for a buffet

Zempy · 29/09/2025 07:37

So sorry about your cat @TicTac80.

Great to hear how good Malta is @jins.I go in a couple of weeks! Maybe you will still be there, having refused to go home!

@BreezyPeer I had work done in my house when I was away this summer and it was so wonderful to return to it all being done.

Get well soon @HeidiLite.

I have decided to give myself a ceiling weight of nine stone for maintenance. I do like a nice round number! Let’s see how it goes. Going to jab tonight, probably about 9mg, down from the 12.5 that had me 💩💩💩💩💩 last time!!

tinyemmy · 29/09/2025 08:03

Sorry to hear about the cat @TicTac80 but great to hear your maintenance journey.
I must admit when I see people with lighter weight than me I feel like I should lose more (teenager in the 90s). I weighed in this morning at 8st 6 so 2lbs up on last week. We did have pizza last night. My low is 8st 4, I start to panic at 8st 7. I'm 156cm (5' 1.5)
I'm making a plan the day before and then aiming to stick to it. Let's see how this week goes.

HeidiLite · 29/09/2025 08:25

@tinyemmy I totally get it, I still have a lot of trauma around this from when I was I think 18-19 and saw a long discussion on a message board where all men agreed that a woman should weigh no more than 51-53 kilos. The average height for women in my original country is 5'7''..

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 29/09/2025 09:37

I am so behind, two pages in to the new thread before I realised it existed! Am really trying to stay off my phone too much, so excuse the sporadic posting. I’ve decided I’m at goal (10st 7, BMI 24.2) as, even though I still have considerable flab, I really don’t want to have to buy any more new clothes, and I feel comfortable at a size 10. So am going to try and titrate down - have been taking 5mg for the past couple of months, and am going to go back to 3.75 for a few weeks, with the eventual aim of 2.5 - I am quite terrified of regaining so will play it by ear.

Have been super lax about exercise since the start of the summer holidays, after 6 really good months at the gym, so need to get back into that too.

Also, I bought a (very, very high waisted) bikini! For the first time since I was about 18. So that feels like a major win 😅

Grecianrainbow · 29/09/2025 12:11

Checking in to the new thread. I’ve officially lost 20% of my body weight this week. Down 2st 12.5lb since Jan but 2st 2lb to get to where I want to be - I think.

People are finally making some comments to me, which is a bit unsettling as I have a good chunk to go yet. And my sister ranted about someone cheating using WLI the other day as she lost weight without it (she doesn’t know I’ve taken mj) I still don’t want to tell anyone.

Onwards and downwards to the year end now!

As if it's any of their business! It's still the case, isn't it, that women's bodies are policed. Infuriating! Imagine if we were so judgemental and rude about their bodies.

I'm currently using the terrified of gaining to my advantage. I've never maintained before, just lost and put on. The fact that I'm terrified of being heavier is something I've never felt before and is keeping me on the straight and narrow - again easier whilst still on mj as I remember in the past being so desperate to lose weight but not being able to control the ridiculous eating behaviour.

myladyjane · 29/09/2025 14:34

Obviously I’m not at maintenance but I did lose and maintain for a long time (over 6 years). My advice for what it’s worth is to not be terrified of regain but set yourself an acceptable range. Be mindful but not obsessive. Where the wheels came off for me was a huge change in routine (Covid) and a subsequent drop in things I should have mindful about. I actually found it fairly easy to keep my lower weight stable when I was tracking food/counting steps/eating to portion size/weighing in regularly. Then in covid my routine was shot and I got really resentful of having to be mindful iyswim. Then I regained 4 stone in a year. So that was fun.

I am hoping a low dose of mj helps me manage some of the ‘food as treat’ mindset when I get there whilst managing the sensible eating approach myself. My dh said on Saturday that he finds it sad eating out has been ruined for me (I left quite a bit of my lunch) but I told him genuinely it hadnt, I loved my lunch and it wasn’t a punishment for me to leave what I didn’t need. Annoying from a food waste perspective but that was it!

Thelittlestranger · 29/09/2025 15:44

We are the same height @tinyemmy - I hover between 8.12 and 9 (which seems to be my Monday weight after a fun weekend)

I agree on the eating out - I still enjoy it. Perhaps even more so, now that I don't leave the restaurant fit to burst and needing a lie down. That is what I keep reminding myself of - I don't want to feel like 'that' again - and that comes from eating too much.

MJalltheway · 29/09/2025 15:46

53kg, hah! I'd be dangerously underweight at that weight. Men are idiots. (NAMALT...)
congrats @whyamisuddenlygettingolder ! I've been pondering a bikini myself but no hot holiday planned until next summer so I'm going to hold off for now.
so sorry to hear about your cat @TicTac80 😿

Definitely over indulged a little bit at the weekend, and yet today weighed in at 0.5kg lighter than on Friday?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thelittlestranger · 29/09/2025 15:53

@DGonMJ congrats on the lifting 💪 Until about a 1.5 years ago, I was lifting (115kg was my heaviest deadlift and 105kg was my squat record) But I got bored of doing the same thing over and over and took a break - also something always hurt. Now back at my PT and planning on being strong 'enough' but not at my strongest. It's fun watching the weights go up - good luck!

Also interested to see your cals - do you think you're eating 2000 cals a day regularly? I'm shorter than you, but I counted mine for the first time last week and I averaged 1650 cals per day. I drank and ate very flexibly over the weekend which is what made me higher, but I averaged 13k steps daily, with two runs and three weights sessions. Which is what has given me the grace I think...

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 29/09/2025 18:13

Hello everyone, I will catch up later but just wanted to say @TicTac80 I am so sorry to hear about your cat, ours are very much part of the family and it would be heartbreaking to lose one on the roads.

Whisperingdevil · 29/09/2025 19:34

Thanks Meaty and MJ for directing me over here…
Hello girls. Very infrequent poster here, but love to keep up with you all. I am going to start tapering next week, I’m down 4 stone since Jan, now 10.5 stone and very pleased. Hope to maintain with 2.5 pen in January for a few months until I feel like I can come off completely.
But I have an HRT question, I was having issues with it whilst on MJ , it seemed less effective generally, so I came off 5 months ago. However, it’s now clear that I am not ready to be without it as hot flushes and insomnia have ramped up and it’s become intolerable, so I plan to go back on it. Have others had any issues with MJ and HRT? I remember there were some posts about it earlier in the year, I think it was poorly absorbed whilst on MJ or something like that. Either way I’m going back on it as the hot flushes and lack of sleep are too much.

MJalltheway · 29/09/2025 20:19

I have patches and pessaries for HRT and they are not affected by MJ so I haven't had to change anything. Can you look at switching the type?
