@meatyryvita 💩😱😂. 48 hours is nothing my friend. Sometimes I’m like 240 hours 😂.

Fresh figs are my secret weapon and delicious with it.

MJalltheway · 23/10/2025 08:27

@meatyryvita we have almost identical start and current weights (I started on 15st 12 and currently on 11st 6), it's definitely slowing down for me too. Just need to keep on keeping on 💪

bit of upheaval here, looks like DH is being made redundant. We'd both talked about retiring early in 3-4 years time so now doing lots of calculating to see if he can do it now instead. He's used to a very high pressure, highly paid environment, it'd be quite a change!

myladyjane · 23/10/2025 08:46

@meatyryvita, @MJalltheway another at the same starting weight. Both of you are a bit ahead of me now and iirc correctly (withdraws her stalker note pad) you are both quite tall? But yes slowing down for me too.

Oddly despite still being a stone and a half overweight I am starting to look a little bit scrawny in some places (boobs, face) whilst still beefy in others (lower tummy//upper thighs) and someone thought I was mid 50s yesterday rather than early 50s which I didn’t love as I’ve always looked my age/younger thanks to fat padding. Just cemented the fact that maybe 10lb more for me and stop there (as long as my health markers are all ok).

@Zempy mate my bowels are like yo-yos. Sometimes I poo constantly, other times not for days. I am pleased you feel a bit better and @PenelopesPursuitPrevails

@MJalltheway my husband was made redundant a good few years ago but didn’t go back. The reason he was made redundant was because his field was becoming obsolete. He loves it and he fitted into the childcare/house husband role very easily. Sometimes it’s hard for me as the breadwinner to know I have to keep going. I met a friend yesterday who is just being made redundant and she sounds in a similar position to your dh. Finances are doable for her and her dh, their kids are through uni so shes taking some time off for a year then looking to find something low stress to add to the pot a bit. She was glowing tbh.

anyway I was a big brave girl and I weighed in. About 3lb down I think (scale battery was low) since last weigh in 10 days ago so over my 4 stone now.

myladyjane · 23/10/2025 08:51

Oh and @HeidiLitein deference to you I have put on my architectural jumper - it looks smart as it’s very structured it also warm. It doesn’t actually suit me massively but good from the waist up

Jins · 23/10/2025 08:55

I’d have been quite happy with 48 hours back at my worst. Thank goodness Resolor was invented!

Another day of appalling food choices. I start off well then by the evening I lose the plot completely. It’s so much easier in salad season. I’m glad I’ve got a good stock of 10mg pens as I can do a bit of dose tweaking if necessary. I’ve given up on the dream of 8st 11 for now and I’ll be happy if I can hold my weight at 9st.

Workwear discussion is very interesting as when I started out there were distinct ‘uniform’ based on roles. Professionals in suits, support staff in similar without jackets and general admin staff had the most freedom as they weren’t client facing. As a quasi-legal professional my dress code was black suits and neutral tops. No trousers unless on site visits. A ‘word’ was had if outfits weren’t considered appropriate - I remember the drama when a YTS (remember that?) admin assistant rocked up in shorts and a skimpy top. It wasn’t much better when I was in the private sector but by then I was pretty well established in my field and I gave zero shits about the opinions of the partners.

The transition to WFH and teams meetings has shown that some people don’t really understand what appropriate workwear is. When DS1 lived here he often used to rage about one of his reports turning up on camera in his dressing gown. I’m glad that suits aren’t required anymore (or is that co-ord now?) and I love that people wear joggers etc which can’t be seen on camera.

No plans again today. It’s definitely autumn.

Zempy · 23/10/2025 08:59

HeidiLite · 23/10/2025 07:39

@Zempy just curious, still as strict after covid? I'm in-house now and some of my colleagues, as mentioned, interpret 'casual' as 'beachwear'. I understand that it does not really affect the work result, but personally I like to look smarter and have a bit of a difference between my office clothes and what I would wear to walk the dogs in the forest.

In court it’s still black everywhere (London, which might make a difference) I don’t see any grey or navy.

In person meetings I am suited and booted but not necessarily black. Always a blazer. That’s non negotiable.

Online, if outside parties involved, I will usually wear a jacket and shirt. If internal, more casual, but not beachwear! I have seen younger colleagues wearing inappropriate clothes online but they seem to get the hang of it.

If I have no meetings, I will probably keep my dressing gown on over scruffs, rather than have heating on all day.

Zempy · 23/10/2025 09:02

Re 💩 talk. After I had DS I didn’t 💩 for three weeks!!! Had to have an enema in the end. 🤣

HeidiLite · 23/10/2025 09:16

@myladyjane I definitely had a period when face was looking really sunken in and older, but it has tightened up again. Definitely looking younger now than when I had several chins.

I used to be a solicitor (equivalent in another country) so full suits, but black wasn't required. Then first in house job was more casual, but mostly still suits for whitecollars. Now it's even more casual, but varied. There are plenty of people in random t-shirts and hoodies, but when I look around right now, in our legal/risk corner, people are wearing suit jackets, dress shirts and smart sweaters. But whenever someone shows up in full suit and tie, that's clearly it's an external consultant.

Have you seen the 'office siren' aesthetics some youngsters are cultivating on social media? Basically 'sexy secretary' style and generally hugely, massively inappropriate for any actual office. But tons of posts how of course hun you should wear it, looking hot, all those old bags telling you not to are just jealous..

2025istheyeari · 23/10/2025 09:25

Hi everyone

Sorry to hear about 💩problems! MJ ( or maybe my eating?) has def had an impact on my bowel movements!!!

happy to report 4 pounds has gone overnight 🎉hopefully the other 4 will go over next few days! I haven’t jabbed for 2 weeks I’ve realised so need to do that today, new 7.5mg pen.

All the workwear talk making me smile, haven’t things changed ( apart from v formal legal roles).

sorry to hear about DH @MJalltheway , hope you can make it work.

Have a good Thursday, more cooking here and really need to crack on with my interview prep for next week! Was contacted about an amazing sounding role yesterday but for a tobacco/ vape company so a definite no for me ( apols if anyone works for such a co!).

HeidiLite · 23/10/2025 09:27

@MJalltheway could work out for the best, if he had retirement plans in the next few years. Hope you can make it work!

meatyryvita · 23/10/2025 09:32

Thanks for the 💩solidarity and support! I'll see how tomorrow's weigh in goes. I completed the SheMed questionnaire for my next prescription and told them that Wegovy, in the prescribed dose, was rubbish. They've just issued me with 2.4mg of Wegovy, so let's see how that goes.

Sorry to hear about your DH @MJalltheway. What a change it will be for him, for you both in fact. Finding something to occupy the mind after a stressful job will be important I imagine. When my DH didn't work for a couple of years, he fixated on irrelevant/inconsequential things that had been in place for a long time and was suddenly unable to tolerate them. Straight back to work for him!
Thanks for the encouragement regarding persisting, I absolutely shall!

I was the MC at work for a talk yesterday and that means that I'm on camera, broadcast across our company (global). I'd normally be worried about looking like a well-dressed potato but no such qualms this time; my only concern was my nerves.

I will always be so grateful to the chap at work who mentioned MJ/jabs to me and for the support of you all as we walk this path together 💪

Thelittlestranger · 23/10/2025 11:42

Im too-ing and fro-ing about some big life decisions at the moment. Whether to throw the towel in completely and ask for redundancy because I'm miserable, or another role somewhere else in the company. Or find something somewhere else (tough in the current environment) or simply go and do something completely new. For less money.

I do know that something needs to change - and it might be easier if that decision is taken from me. I hope you can work out those numbers @MJalltheway to find the happiest resolution.

I haven't weighed or tracked all week since Monday. It is quite freeing if I can ignore the voice in my head. Seeing an increase on the scales can change my mood and approach to food instantly. Not always in the right way, so maintenance is also about finding the happiest way to maintain. WI tomorrow...

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 23/10/2025 12:36

Sorry @MJalltheway , I missed that. It will be OK, I am sure of it (as someone who threw the towel in recently). @Thelittlestranger you too, honestly, I still miss my work a bit but I've got tons going on and am actually being brave enough to turn things down or to say 'yes of course I would love to do that ..... but only on my terms'. It has been such a short space of time and I've gone from being terrified to knowing what I want.

I injected today - my third 7.5mg dose, highest dose I've had. I only seem to be losing 4lb a month these days which is a bit crap. My Oushk order is due today and it looks like it no longer needs to be signed for with DPD.

meatyryvita · 24/10/2025 07:36

Oh @Thelittlestranger it’s just not worth it sometimes, is it? If you’re miserable, perhaps asking for VR is the way to go? At least it’ll give you a safety net and some time to think about your next move?

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails solidarity 👊
with you on the slowdown - generally 1lb a week here too and that’s if I’m lucky! I was given some great encouragement the other day on this page about the journey we’ve been on and where we were this time last year. We will get there! Slowly but eventually!

Weighed in this am after a normal day at home and another 1lb gone and have finally moved into the 24s for BMI (24.9!) and my scale app is showing my weight as normal for the first time 💃

OP posts:
PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 24/10/2025 07:39

Morning everyone, back to normal here, feel ok, although I have actually been up since 2:30am 😑.

My Oushk delivery came 2 minutes before I had to leave for work yesterday afternoon, safely in the fridge. They were always very efficient before I got fed up with them during the pendemic. I've now got a supply until mid January, not sure what I'll do after that.

Weighing in at 81kg, 6.2kg to my current goal. Depends on how difficult it is to get there as to what I do after that. I hear you @meatyryvita I've just checked dates on nutracheck and I've only lost 2kg in the last month.

Zempy · 24/10/2025 07:45

Congratulations @meatyryvita that’s fantastic!

MJalltheway · 24/10/2025 09:04

Whoop for a normal BMI @meatyryvita ! 🍾

@myladyjane well remembered, I'm tall (5'10") so I'm well into the green on BMI now even at 11.5 stone.

weigh in today
SW 101kg
CW 72.7kg
GW 70kg

Mini goal met this week - I now weigh less than DH (73kg - he's very slim)!

I need to keep a hold of my snacking impulses, I do so well for most of the week then on a Thursday as it's tailing off it's hard to resist. That'll only get more pronounced as I taper down I assume so need a plan for that before I start.

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 09:27

Hi, hope it's okay to jump on and ask a question!

I'm currently active in the September starter group as I had my first jab on the 1st September.

I've been on 2.5 for the last 2 months (8 jabs in total) and decided to buy a 5 pen to jump up for my next dose as I have been feeling very hungry.

Tonight's the night I was planning on taking my first 5 dose but i've been losing consistently since I started and have dropped a lot already.
SW: 12st 9
CW: 10st 6
Total loss: 2st 3

Today, i've lost a further 3lbs. My head is thinking i should stay on 2.5 until the losses slow down.

Thought id ask on this thread as you've all been going a lot longer!

If I choose to stay on 2.5, does anyone happily use it for the 8 weeks it would last as that seems way too long to be using a pen.

Any advice would be appreciated! 🤗

2025istheyeari · 24/10/2025 09:41

Whoop well done @meatyryvita thats amazing 🎉🎉

@JustPickleRick hi👋🏻, wow that’s an amazing loss, well done! I wouldn’t want to recommend any micro dosing, is a possibility asking your provider for another 2.5mg and keeping the 5 for later? 8 weeks is a long time. Good luck!

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 10:25

I agree, I don't feel comfortable using it for too long so I may just have to waste a lot of this pen and order a 2.5 again next time.

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 24/10/2025 10:35

Today I'm 6st down, exactly, which is quite overwhelming. BMI 23.3, from 37.6! About to take shot 41. Am also FINALLY my own age on my Renpho scales! My subcutaneous fat is still resolutely in the high category though, annoyingly - otherwise I'd have a clean sweep of greens.

I decided I was at goal about 5lbs ago, and am titrating down, very slowly, doing 50 clicks of my current 5mg pen - I feel like I've definitely made maintenance harder to figure out, by refusing to ever calorie count. Trying to just pay attention to body hunger vs head hunger, which is difficult! I'm on holiday next week, so that'll be a good test. I don't really want to carry on losing, but so far I still am - I guess it's not a bad thing to have a few lbs to play with though.

@MJalltheway I find myself snacking on babybel and mixed nuts a lot - I don't think this is really as healthy as I tell myself it is 😅 but it's definitely better than my old obsession with Dairy Milk!!

Thelittlestranger · 24/10/2025 11:14

Congratulations @whyamisuddenlygettingolder and @meatyryvita !!!

@JustPickleRick it's up to you how you feel about taking the dose past the recommendation. Some feel comfortable, some don't...not sure anyone can really tell it's ok for you, other than you! I always stayed on the lowest dose until it stopped working.

WI today, 4 weeks post last jab. On the money for a Friday with some flex over the weekend to play with. Went for a run in the sun and now can't wait to get through the day and enjoy a long weekend away.

meatyryvita · 24/10/2025 11:54

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder SIX whole stone?! Incredible!!! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!!

My subcutaneous fat is still amber but I have visible side and, I have some fat on my thighs and arms but certainly not enough to be in amber category so I think we can take the reading with a pinch of salt!

I also didn't count calories so maintenance is a bit hit and miss but I've achieved it for 5 months. I'd like to be a bit more scientific and know how many calories I'm on but also counting calories makes me crazy and our bodies aren't machines so I'm not sure it truly is calories alone (e.g. I don't know if they factor in the thermogenic effect of food plus I think our bodies do things differently, particularly on mj. I'm sure I couldn't eat what I eat and maintain off mj)

Babybel is a great source of protein and nuts a healthy fat so a great snack. I'd be mindful of my nut portion size as they contain a lot of calories but then again if we only eat whole foods I think it would be a struggle to get fat (I binge ate chocolate/sugar to put on weight and this is still my issue but somewhat controlled by mj)

Yes I use a 5 to jab 2.5 so use it for 8 - 10 weeks depending on if hubby has the golden dose or me. I keep it out of the fridge, I think in the fridge would be better I just don't want anyone finding it. You have to decide if the risk (potentially introducing bacteria through multiple piercings, maybe less effective?) is worth it. I know many do this
