Oh @Thelittlestranger it’s just not worth it sometimes, is it? If you’re miserable, perhaps asking for VR is the way to go? At least it’ll give you a safety net and some time to think about your next move?

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails solidarity 👊
with you on the slowdown - generally 1lb a week here too and that’s if I’m lucky! I was given some great encouragement the other day on this page about the journey we’ve been on and where we were this time last year. We will get there! Slowly but eventually!

Weighed in this am after a normal day at home and another 1lb gone and have finally moved into the 24s for BMI (24.9!) and my scale app is showing my weight as normal for the first time 💃

Congratulations 🎉

Yes I use a 5 to jab 2.5 so use it for 8 - 10 weeks depending on if hubby has the golden dose or me. I keep it out of the fridge, I think in the fridge would be better I just don't want anyone finding it. You have to decide if the risk (potentially introducing bacteria through multiple piercings, maybe less effective?) is worth it. I know many do this

Thankfully i've put a request into asda pharmacy and they've approved a 2.5 pen already so I can collect tomorrow. I'll just jab tomorrow instead of today and save the 5mg pen for later on when i'm ready for it.

Lifecircle · 24/10/2025 12:36

@JustPickleRick I'm a mid May starter and use my 5mg pen to take 3mgs from (side effects taking 5 were too much) so go well over the 4 weeks. It's my 2nd 5mg pen and have had no problems.

mince3point14159265 · 24/10/2025 12:45

@meatyryvita & @whyamisuddenlygettingolder absolutely fantastic news, I'm so pleased for both of you! You must both be feeling absolutely ecstatic! 🤩

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 12:46

Thank you, i'll keep that in mind for when I do need to jump up. I've managed to avoid any side effects so far so 5mg will hit me hard I think 😅

2025istheyeari · 24/10/2025 13:04

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder wow, that’s fabulous! I bet you feel amazing, well done!!!

I’ve jabbed 7.5mg, first dose of titrating down, haven’t jabbed for 2 weeks but have managed to lose all but 2.5 pounds of the 8 (!) I put on last week, happy with that. Back on track eating wise, lots of protein and greens! Made a Waitrose green masala soup which we had for lunch, so nice! Been for a lovely walk with a friend in the sunshine and off for coffee with another friend soon. Happy Friday and weekend losers!

Jins · 24/10/2025 14:09

Another week, another weigh in and I’ve stayed the same which is a bit miraculous. I’ve fluctuated more this week than I have since January but I’m very happy to have STS.

Just jabbed 6mg from my 10mg pen. There looks to be 3 or 4 doses left so I’ll have been using it for 10 weeks by the time it’s empty. I don’t think I’d have done it back at the start but the costs weren’t what they are now.

All plans for activity are being rethought as I’ve done something stupid and I’m back in my knee brace. Trying to rest it as we’ve got a local history walk on Sunday. Don’t think it’s anything too serious. It’s a bit clicky and arthritic at the best of times but I’ve twisted it and now it hurts. DH thinks I should have a CT scan and see a physio. I think a knee brace and feet up for a few days is probably sufficient. I’m not the biggest fan of orthopaedic specialists since one broke my shoulder 🤣

Have a fab Friday and weekend everyone!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 25/10/2025 07:41

That is interesting @mince3point14159265 . I guess we will see lots of development in the future.

Huge suppression here on 7.5mg. I only managed 500 cals yesterday, I felt nauseous and under par but it is hard to tell whether it was whatever I had earlier in the week or MJ.

52lbs lost this morning (been here before 😂), 13.5lbs to the first goal I’ve set of 11st 10lbs. Fingers crossed for no more blips.

Quiet weekend planned, I do need to do about 12 hours of work between now and Monday which is boring, other than that I’m going to read and need to do a bit of 🧘 as my upper back is a bit sore.

Happy weekend losers.

Interesting article on the new drug that Eli Lilly is developing.

Ooh that sounds interesting, particularly the fat burning element! Thanks @mince3point14159265 .

great news on the weight loss @PenelopesPursuitPrevails , not so much on the feeling grim, hope you can find some time to rest this weekend.

BreezyPeer · 25/10/2025 08:13

@mince3point14159265 that article us really interesting. We are only at the beginning of what these drugs can offer

BreezyPeer · 25/10/2025 08:19

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails I feel like we are weekend twins!
I also have work to do this weekend although I am hoping for 8 hours rather than 12 and I will have to fit it in on Sunday.
This morning I have a pilates workshop all about the shoulders and upper back which sounds like you would appreciate. This afternoon I have a date ❤️
No plans this evening so have to see if the date goes long or if I can start on the work ( one of those prospects us much more appealing than the other 🤣🤣)

Jins · 25/10/2025 08:21

Retatrutide looks very hopeful doesn’t it? I like the sound of fat burning.

Knee still sore but the brace is helping. I’ll keep it on for a week and reassess. I’ve got two dodgy knees now which isn’t filling me with joy.

I can’t believe we’re nearly in November and ideally I’d like to drop a couple of pounds to see me through the festive season. I seem to be unable to eat sensibly at the moment though. I’m craving stodgy comfort food. The soup maker is a game changer for lunch though, today I’m having ‘roast chicken dinner soup’ which is basically everything that was left in the fridge from last Sunday and the best one so far.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

BreezyPeer · 25/10/2025 08:24

@Jins love how you just slipped that in about the orthopedic surgeon breaking your shoulder!! I feel there is a story there!
I have been using 5mg from a 10mg pen for a couple of pens so it is open 10 weeks. I haven't had any issues ( thank goodness)

BreezyPeer · 25/10/2025 08:26

Morning 🌄 losers!
Have a great weekend everyone xx

Jins · 25/10/2025 08:49

@BreezyPeer it’s not a very exciting story I’m afraid. Manipulation under anaesthetic for a frozen shoulder and manipulation went a bit far. So when people say that it must have hurt I can honestly say that I didn’t feel a thing 🤣. It worked though and I’m back up to about 80% of my normal hypermobile movement which is a little better than normal movement range.

I’ve just jumped on the scales to find that I’m two pounds up which I entirely deserve but it feels so annoying. It obviously can’t be fat but if I keep on eating the way I am it soon will be. I think I’m going to jab every 5/6 days for a few weeks to get on top of things. My will power isn’t good enough

MJalltheway · 25/10/2025 08:53

Hope the date goes well enough to scupper work plans @BreezyPeer ! The Pilates workshop sounds great too. I do a body balance class on Wednesdays and I feel amazing afterwards having worked out all the tenseness and hunching from working on screens all the time.

Big weekend here - it's my goth gig tonight that I'm very excited about (fields of the nephilim if anyone remembers from when I booked the tickets a few months back!). And in total contrast, I'm taking DD to see benson Boone a few days later 😂

Zempy · 25/10/2025 09:00

I had forgotten how many of us are hyper mobile. I find this time of year very painful.

I have eaten homemade vegetable soup the past two days for dinner. Makes me feel very virtuous but it’s also wholesome and filling. I use a huge stockpot and throw loads of garlic and chilli flakes in with whatever veg I have lying around. Top up with frozen peas if necessary.

Going to the theatre with two good friends today for a matinee. Really looking forward to that. Enjoy the weekend losers.

Morning all

Have weighed today as we’re up early tomorrow for our flights to Copenhagen. I’m 58.6kg down from last week’s 58.85.
It’s been another very busy work week, and for various reasons haven’t been able to walk to the station and get my dose of Vit D/steps in. But I have managed to do a peloton class everyday - 3 x bike rides, 1 x yoga and 1 x dumbbells strength. Today I have weights or boxing with the PT.

I’ve completely slipped back into old habits of eating chocolate and biscuits in the afternoon at work - that post-lunch sugar craving is powerful. I might have to go back to having small squares of intense dark chocolate in my drawers to satiate in a slightly healthier way.

Have zero suppression in the week on 2.5mg, which is fine as I’m maintaining at this dose. But as with last couple of weeks, I’ve had some ravenous days mid-week and then surprised when suppression kicks in on Friday night. Peaking 5 days after jabbing on a Sunday seems weird.

So feels like I’ve found a good maintenance dose - 2.5mg every 7 days. I think I was hoping to get down to 1.25mg, but right now if I’m maintaining and not having to calorie count or think too much about how much I’m eating then this feels totally sustainable.

I eat three meals a day, plus fruit and a couple of biscuits in the afternoon and a dessert after dinner. My meals are almost all homemade and balanced with lots of veg and complex carbs. Pre-MJ I would have had a lot more takeaways, ready meals and bought lunches, so I’ve definitely improved habits through meal-planning. But I do feel like I’m eating the same volume as I was pre-MJ, my body is just processing it differently.

It’s interesting reading the retatrutide article (thanks for sharing @mince3point14159265) with the third active ingredient that targets fat burning. I feel like I’ve got that with MJ already - like the increased insulin sensitivity has enabled my body to burn fat it would previously never touch.

Right, time for me to get out of bed. I’ve sent a bunch of work emails from my phone, checked into flights, re-looked at our trip itinerary. Need to sort laundry and lunch before the gym. Have a lovely weekend losers!

Zempy · 25/10/2025 12:44

I have a new “skinny complaint”

My bony ankles are sore from rubbing against the sides of my ankle boots. There clearly used to be a soft cushion of fat covering them before, as these are well worn boots.

I resonate with this. I jab 2.5 on a Monday, but today and I remember the last couple of weekends just not feeling hungry. Although when I eat I feel hungry.
I also struggle with the sugary stuff and have been having a few bags of reeses minis per week, amongst other naughties. This is very reminiscent of pre-mj. My weight has stayed the same but I am quite a bit slimmer (I do also do two strength workouts per week).
I'm definitely staying in this dose for a bit longer..

I don’t have this, but for a while I’ve been able to feel every vertebrae of my coccyx when getting onto the gym floor to do floor exercises.

Yes, double mat needed in the gyn. Plus I can't do full sit ups as my vertebrae against my bra is really uncomfortable. Small price to pay!

HeidiLite · 26/10/2025 07:34

Hello from Athens, weather is glorious, really the best time for sightseeing. Have eaten more than usual but I think it's only reasonable to relax a bit during holidays. Now just have to see if I can get back on the wagon when we're back home.

Yes to bony parts hurting. Coccyx and neck as well. Double mat is a great idea! And to think before I didn't always even bother putting a mat on the knobbly step bench, as I was soft enough. Plane seats are really hard, I actually need to take a pillow or something next time we have a long haul flight. The postpartum one maybe would help?

Zempy · 26/10/2025 07:40

Weighed today and will jab tonight. Probably around 7.5 which is less than last week.

I have gained a random pound in the last three days. I know this is normal. This is maintenance. But I am struggling with the mindset and still worry a little.

When I started at 13:7 in January, I wouldn’t have dared to dream I would ever be eight stone anything. My aim was to no longer be obese, then no longer overweight. But having got here, I am quite rabid about protecting my low weight.

I have been really brave and Vinted everything that is too big, so there’s no going back. It just all feels a bit terrifying today.
