@Polkadotdash it’s hard when you aren’t a fast loser and I’ve got very blue at times so you my sympathy. I used juniper during the pendemic and they were good actually but I just used as a one off then cancelled (which was a bit annoying but ok in the end). You do get free scales.

I find Christmas a bit tricky as well (such a theme). I have lost quite a lot of my family and the big family Christmases of my childhood are not something my kids have ever experienced. They’ve been quiet/low key/small. Also no one likes the feasting. I’d go all out to have the house full of lovely food and drink and no one cares. Now I don’t bother tbh - this year I’ll bother even less

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails I feel honoured to be asssociated with such noxious odours. #proud. Pleased it’s ‘passed’

2025istheyeari · 09/10/2025 19:24

I’m due to take my bonus dose, last 10mg ever over the next few days. I’ve only done it once before and failed spectacularly so can someone wiser than me let me know if this is what I do

use a wipe and clean the pen, then use a syringe directly where the needle would normally go and suction the dose out. Do I then change the needle before injecting into my skin? Last time I bent it 🫣. How do I know what dose I’ve administered? Feel I should know all of this!!

myladyjane · 09/10/2025 19:47

@2025istheyeari I don’t change the needle but not sure I should. IIRC @MJalltheway is a bit of an expert here (sorry if I’ve got that wrong!)

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 09/10/2025 19:47

@2025istheyeari yes that's right in essence. Is it from a 10mg pen? The standard dose is 0.6ml so if you get that amount in your syringe then you've got a normal dose. Watch it though because I've found that there is more than 0.6ml left in the pen.

What sort of syringe have you got? I much prefer the ones where you can change the needle for a fresh (sharp) one to inject once you've extracted the dose but I've used both types before.

MJalltheway · 09/10/2025 21:11

You are right @myladyjane! I've been self-injecting for about 10 years now but with b12.
so I use a low gauge needle to extract from the pen (24/26) because it's so much easier to extract with a wider gauge and then switch to a fine gauge (high) needle to inject. If you use a fine needle to extract you run the risk of blunting the needle if you bump it on the side of the glass or anything. Blunt needles hurt more!

Such difficult feelings around Christmas for so many of you ❤️ we went away for a hot holiday last year for the first time on Boxing Day and it was blissful. Would love to do it again this year.

HeidiLite · 10/10/2025 06:09

morning losers and let me tell you a story:

2 colleagues of DH, young female colleague on a health kick, trying to lose weight but mostly build muscle, has protein shakes on her desk and so on. Male colleague starts teasing her about the protein, saying that why do you do all that, what's the point. She that well she wants to be strong and be in shape when getting older. DH pulls out his phone and shows her a photo of a woman flexing at the gym and says: so you can look like this in 20 years? She: yes, exactly!
Male colleague: pff yeah but that's a full time job, it's not realistic to look like that, that's just some stock photo.
DH: that's my wife. 😂

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 10/10/2025 08:22

Amazing @HeidiLite , your DH is obviously very proud of you.

All dodgy symptoms resolved here thank goodness. Weight still up. In fact I’ve just checked nutracheck and I seem to be 1.8kg up from 3/10. F actual G S.

Zempy · 10/10/2025 09:00

That’s lovely @HeidiLite

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails just give it time to settle down?

I am still trying to maintain. Jabbed a little less last night, about 9mg. Weight is 8:10.

I am going insane trying to find a swimsuit or tankini top that fits! I need to have my wrinkly saggy stomach covered, so bikini is not an option.

Either my boobs are squishing out the sides, or the top part is way too baggy with excess material flapping around. I can’t find a happy medium.

I have ordered so many different styles now, I could open my own shop. The holy grail will arrive soon!

BreezyPeer · 10/10/2025 09:22

@HeidiLite you were already my inspiration but thats absolutely brilliant! Also, your husband is one of the good guys!

Jins · 10/10/2025 09:39

Nice one @HeidiLite. He’s a keeper.

It’s weigh and jab day and I’m postponing the weigh bit until a successful bathroom trip as I’m not looking forward to it at all. Yesterday I started off really well again but was home alone from 4 as DH was at a gig and DS2 was at work. CBA to cook something for myself so had some cheese and crackers and my weekly fruit allowance then an hour later hoovered up some flapjack bites and some ice cream. The ice cream was always going to be dubious - banoffee pie from Iceland - but I wasn’t wearing my glasses so didn’t spot the fact that it contained wheat so I glutened myself. 🙈

I’ve not had the best night, abdominal pain, headache, bloating like you wouldn’t believe but luckily no diarrhoea. The scales won’t be kind today and I’m going to own it as I’ve eaten so much junk this week. I’m actually looking forward to the Hello Fresh box arriving for next week and I’m going to go through the freezer to find ingredients to batch cook some homemade ready meals.

2025istheyeari · 10/10/2025 09:42

Thanks everyone, I’m not sure which ones I have tbh, I ordered syringes and needles but the syringes have needles attached and not sure I can change them so I’ll have to use the same one won’t I🫣 you can tell I’m clueless here!! Will report back later!!

wow @HeidiLite youre amazing and agree what a fab husband!! I’ve just cancelled my gym subscription as unable to get there really so going to do weights at home, need to get into the zone!

Glad symptoms have gone @PenelopesPursuitPrevails and hope weight stabilises soon. I checked and when I went up to 7.5mg and had all the symptoms, I initially put on but then had a whoosh so 🤞🏻.

Quiet day here, still no job news, bored of waiting, why do they take so flipping long!! Going to make my Christmas cake later, fruit has been soaking for a week. Food delivery, dog walk and that’s my excitement for the day 🤣.

Have my JL personal stylist appointment tomorrow, same one I saw in spring and she’s emailed me asking what I’m looking for in particular saying it’s all very dark but she’ll try to find some pops of colour!! I’ve been organised and done a wish list of ideas on their app. I’m after a capsule wardrobe to complement the few things I already have, probably in navy, khaki/ olive, camel, red and pink. Looking forward to it, feeling a bit guilty about spending the money but Vinted sales should fund most of it!!

Edited as cross posted with @Jins, oh no, hope you feel better soon,

Have a great day all

HeidiLite · 10/10/2025 10:30

@2025istheyeari I always use the same one, haven't had issues. Just note that the needle is probably longer than the original, so you don't necessarily need to stick it all the way in.

Also really interested how the stylist appointment will go. A friend just had one - stylist went though her entire wardrobe over several days, discarded anything that didn't fit and flatter and put together full outfit photos for her. Some things seemed so basic but really made a massive difference, like just adding a belt. I have to experiment more with such accessories and things.
This weekend have to sort out my shoes. First, sell some that I have not worn and will not wear. What was I even thinking with those yellow boots and bright red shoes, they go with nothing I own.

Thelittlestranger · 10/10/2025 10:35

I have successfully got to the bottom of my weight range heading into the weekend, and avoided work drinks all week. I expect the two go together...

Looking forward to the weekend very much. Feeling drained this morning. Run later with my friend, just walked the dogs. Going to hibernate in my office and get my head down for the rest of the day.

2025istheyeari · 10/10/2025 12:00

I’m a liability, not only did I forget to tap to get rid of the air bubble but I bent the needle (not able to change the needle in the syringe) as I didn’t take @HeidiLite advice not to put needle all the way in! I also think there was .9mg 🫣but there was air as it expelled. Now worried about the air and the ‘overdose’ argh!

Jins · 10/10/2025 13:16

You’ll be ok on both counts @2025istheyeari. You may get a bruise but you aren’t going to get a massive air embolism from a sub cut couple of bubbles. The most likely issue is a few days of MJ side effects.

I’ve weighed. I’m up to 9st 0.6 which is a loss of 0.4 from last week but a gain of 1.4 from this week’s lowest. Could be worse. I’ve jabbed 6mg today.

myladyjane · 10/10/2025 13:30

@HeidiLite you go girl!

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails I know where the wind has gone mate. Cheers for that. And I don’t even have a dog…

@2025istheyeari lol. Try not to die please. Am also v interested in your style appointment. I need to book in my online one but need dh to take very good photos and find some very tight clothing to wear.

@Jins that’s not too awful at all. hope the gluten moves through.

Am a tiny bit grumpy today - official weigh in and whilst unofficially I was down about a lb mid week I have basically sts for the second week in a row. May be period related, may be lack of water, maybe slightly not great food quality. Maybe this cold has made me sluggish in every way. Dunno. Am trying not to be in a rush as I’m just under bmi 30 but also it’s an expensive hobby and I stink……

Nothing worrying happens if you inject air sub cut. You’ll probably have more suppression for a few days but will other be ok.

Hope your scales move soon @PenelopesPursuitPrevails

@myladyjane you don’t stink, you’ve come so far, hoping your scales move soon too.

Not weighing as had +++ 🍷 last night..

MJalltheway · 10/10/2025 17:20

Air doesn't matter so much in subcut injections, so don't worry @2025istheyeari you'll be fine.

i was looking for alternative providers today and started the consultation process for one but am a bit baffled by them wanting a photo of you standing on the scale where they can see it's you and see the number on the scale. I don't know how to get this! If they want to see me you have to angle the photo horizontally but to see the number on the scale you need to look downwards. Anyone had this and successfully figured out what angle to take?

Weigh in this morning and a bit of movement on the scale again after going up to 12.5 for a couple of weeks.

SW 101kg
CW 74kg
GW 70kg
loss this week 1kg.

im not all the way through yet but it's all about obesity, weight set points, how low-cal dieting ends up making you fatter and slowing your metabolism. Really interesting stuff.
