@Aimingdown vicariously might be the best way!! The real thing is scary 😨 but I am still feeling brave xx

myladyjane · 10/10/2025 17:28

@BlueLimes oh bless you for being sweet but I mean I literally stink - I’ve got Penny’s sulphur burps Grin

Oh no @myladyjane , I only burped twice 😂, it was bloody awful.

I think that me, you and @Polkadotdash from memory (sorry if I have missed anyone) have had a really slow journey on MJ compared to others. It is really easy to get disheartened.

I'm back up to 13st and 0.5lb for no obvious reason whatsoever. My BMI is 28.7, down from 36.

I can see myself throwing the towel in, maybe after buying one more pen. I've currently got pens that will get me to a last injection on 19th December if I stick to 7.5mg.

@BreezyPeer you are on 🔥in the dating department. Have a lovely time!

Zempy · 11/10/2025 07:59

SW 13:7
CW 8:9

BMI 20.8

I am supposed to be maintaining but the weight is still falling off. I think some others had this “problem” which of course I secretly view as a “result” because of decades of dieting think.

I jabbed last night but won’t jab for ten days now as I will be going away next week. I think I will make my next jab much lower but jab every week and see how that works out.

So excited for your date feedback @BreezyPeer.

Is everyone watching Celebrity Traitors? I’m a huge CW fan 😍

HeidiLite · 11/10/2025 08:19

happy weekend losers - I have eaten a lot more this week, had some pastries and desserts as well and have put on a kilo as expected. But no big deal and I know I can lose it again quite easily. I'm thiking I might want to go a kilo under my goal before Xmas, I already have several dinners and parties booked.

@Zempy yes it really messes with your head. Staying the same is now..good? After decades of dieting..

BreezyPeer · 11/10/2025 08:31

Morning 🌄 losers!
DS (16) was up in the night. He's not feeling well. I hope its just a cold and i can still make my day date. But I'll have to wait and see.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 11/10/2025 08:48

@Zempy yes, me and DD watched Celebrity Traitors. We were a bit bored tbh at times, especially at the round table. I felt that there was far too much posturing for the camera at times, something that doesn't happen with Joe Public Traitors. Also wondered what the heck CW was wearing most of the time, I usually love her clothes but she looked like a High Sheriff for most of it.

I've been a bit spendy this week, bought a couple of cord shift dresses from Boden and today a new fairisle jumper. This is a lovely brand, I've got several knits from them, oldest one is about ten years old.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 11/10/2025 08:49

p.s hope everything is ok @BreezyPeer .

myladyjane · 11/10/2025 09:06

I mean obviously I am watching celeb traitors. Obviously. CW is my goddess - the light brown tweed jacket she had on was divine as was the funeral outfit. I spent a merry hour on vinted trying to find tweedy jackets so I could be like her but gave up when dd pointed out I’d look like a fool.

@BreezyPeer you get that lad up. He’s fine. He’s 16, he can cope (I am possibly over invested in the date).

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails ohhh lovely jumper! I want a fairisle jumper too and was looking yesterday. I need a cotton one due to wool allergy/hatred of acrylic (or at least high % cotton blend) and I need a bright colour. Am going to hold off until I’ve had my style session results back then have a proper look - I had a lovely cream one from JL for a good few years but it eventually lost its shape.

not sure what to do today - very rare day wholly to myself but still quite coldy/a bit run down. DH says sit down with a book bless him but a few chores to do this morning and I should at least go for a walk (possibly via Superdrug for a new nail varnish but do I really need another?)

Jins · 11/10/2025 09:24

Happy weekend losers!

@BreezyPeer i have everything crossed that your DS is well enough for you to go.

I have to confess to feeling very jealous of @Zempy. We took a similar time getting to 9 stone and while I’m not unhappy at 9 I’d really like to be 8.9. Not looking likely if I keep on eating crap like this week.

DS2 gave me my birthday present a month early yesterday. I was mildly put out that the Aldi soup makers sold out before I could get one so he got one for me. I tested it yesterday and it made the most amazing broccoli and blue cheese soup I’ve ever eaten. So much better than when I’ve made it in a pan. I’m looking forward to some better lunches.

Bit of a sad day today though as our oldest chicken has reached the end of the road and I’m just about to go and assist DH. She’s about 9 and has lived nearly a year from when I found her collapsed. The duck will be devastated as this was the chicken she adopted as mum and to be fair the chicken stepped up to the role very well.

I’m starting to feel a bit better after glutening myself but it’ll be a day or so before it’s fully recovered. Can’t believe how stupid I was.

HeidiLite · 11/10/2025 10:40

@myladyjane one can never have too many nail varnishes! But also, have you tried UV stickers? I get really annoyed when varnish chips in 2 days, those last more than a week, and super easy to do.

@BreezyPeer hope it's just a cold and he can manage a few hours by himself.

I'm about to go outside do some garden clean up, it's a mess. Need to get a battery powered hedge trimmer, I don't mind trimming but drawwing the power cords around is annoying me to no end.
Then both DD and DS have basketball matches. Today DH got DS and I will go with DD - which is totally unfair as DS team is really good and DD's much less so 😅

HeidiLite · 11/10/2025 10:42

@Jins sorry about the chicken but I'm sure she had the best life.

Am interested in soup maker, never used them, so do I want one?

Zempy · 11/10/2025 10:50

@BreezyPeerI hope DS is better soon. 🤞🤞🤞

@Jins Don’t feel envious. I’m expecting to gain at least three pounds on holiday. I always do, because my friends “force me” to drink alcohol and eat pizza 😀

@myladyjane you can’t possibly let the notion that you might look like a fool stop you!! I have a gorgeous navy and black tweed jacket WITH ELBOW PATCHES which DD says makes me look like a 1980s Geography teacher. Like I care?

The Givenchy boots were possibly a step too far…

tinyemmy · 11/10/2025 11:03

Catching up after having what must have been COVID. I am only feeling better now, almost two weeks later. I've booked in for a flu jab as I don't want to feel like this again.
I struggle with chasing sugar when ill so the eating has not been good. Weight up to 8st 5.6 which feels like too much of a gain despite me setting my target at 8st 6!?! My brain wants me down at 8st 4 and to stay there permanently. Hopefully it will relax, although perhaps this is what's needed to keep me slim!
Part of me is tempted to go back to daily weighing, if only in some respect to take the fear away that I've somehow put loads of weight on overnight. I also feel like I need that daily trigger to remind me to eat sensibly. I'm off on holiday on 22 October so would like to be down to 8st 4 for then, but as long as it's below 8st 6 it doesn't really make a lot of difference. I'm still jabbing 2.5 from a 5mg pen and must get round to ordering from Pharmulous so I'm on their books. I won't be jabbing whilst I'm away and use that as the decision maker as to whether I try a lower dose, I've decided I'd like to get to 1.25 out of a 2.5 pen as it would be cheaper!!)
I'm enjoying reading about the advent calendars and loved @HeidiLite story from DH. @Jins sorry about being glutened, I know how horrible it can be, I am expecting to be glutened whilst in Egypt, it often happens but also means I tend not to put on weight... Silver linings and all that!
Official weigh in on Monday and will jab 2.5 as usual.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 11/10/2025 11:28

@myladyjane ... take a leaf out of my book 🙃. There are so many things I could be doing - CPD, self employed work, heck - even Vinting (have not started despite shopping). I'm free until 2:30pm. I've just made a large pot of tea and I am going to read my book for a couple of hours.

I've been busy this morning, up since 5:30am for some reason and I have done tons, including ironing and changing my sheets which is always a chore (but high thread count and I like smooth bedding despite inflicting ironing them upon myself).

Just settling down on the sofa with a cosy blanket and my book, one of my receptions is south facing and has a six sided bay window - the sun is streaming in - blissful. It is absolutely silent here, just me, cat sunbathing in a stretch of sunlight and my book.

@Jins, sorry to hear about your hen.

myladyjane · 11/10/2025 11:36

@zempyyou big tease. I am trying not to buy anything until my style session (that I’ve still not booked).

@Jins your chicken story made me very sad. A good life lived.

@HeidiLite I have tried the stick on wraps but not the uv ones. The stick on ones really upset my nails which has made me a bit wary but dd does have a lamp
so maybe I could try. I do endorse the soup maker - I ripped the piss out of my dad when he got one then when he died my mum gave it to me and I didn’t feel I could say no. It’s ace! In fact I fancy some mushroom soup today…

@tinyemmy so many nasty bugs around taking ages to go. I signed up with pharmulous this week - slight disagreement re my id (I wanted to upload it not email it and they kept telling me I could but it didn’t work) but all approved, v quick and responsive and not a bad price.

myladyjane · 11/10/2025 11:40

Do you know @PenelopesPursuitPrevails I think I may. I’ve done a load of chores and I got all dizzy and weird doing them. I even did some vinting. I may browse gel nails, pop to the shops to get soup ingredients then flop. Dd is too ill for football tomorrow so I can hoick dh out for a national trust walk then as unexpected free day.

DGonMJ · 11/10/2025 11:47

Catching up after a few days

Belated Happy birthday @HeidiLite 💐
Also go DH for being such a champion of strong powerful women 💪

Ready for more dating stories @BreezyPeer so fingers crossed DS is well enough to have a duvet day in front of the tv.

Sorry to hear about the chicken @Jins how long do they live usually?

So I didn’t go for advent calendars in the end - however I have booked the Selfridges Christmas Afternoon Tea as a family treat. Plus I think DS1 will enjoy having a mooch around at all the luxury brands (which he can then source second hand on depop).

@zempy I was one of those worried about losing too much. I lowered the dose and spread it out to 10 days for a while and steadily regained a kilo over the month. I’m back to 7 day dosing and have maintained so far. I’m at 21.5 BMI now and haven’t gone below 21, but I carry all my weight in my hips and thighs so any lower than I am now and my upper half starts to look very skeletal and my face becomes gaunt.
Today I’m 68.5kg which is still v much below my initial target of 62.4kg which was to get me just into a healthy BMI but I feel happy at this weight.

I’m going to jab again tomorrow, I have a couple of trips away coming up (spa hotel for anniversary, Copenhagen weekend after) and feel a bit more secure knowing I can maintain on a low dose, yet still enjoy everything.

meatyryvita · 11/10/2025 12:04

@Jins I’m so sorry about your hen. Its amazing the bonds we create with animals, isn’t it?

@tinyemmy glad you’re finally feeling better! What a slog!

@DGonMJ the afternoon tea sounds lovely! They’re always so decadent, aren’t they?

@Jins soup maker sounds awesome! There’s a lovely Turkish lentil soup recipe on the NYT cooking app that I highly recommend.

@BreezyPeer go on! Go and enjoy your date! Hope it’s lots of fun and I shall be waiting on the judgy bench for follow up!

@HeidiLite best of luck with the garden and may the basketball match fly by!

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails as a fellow gainer, I empathise! Are you doing all of the usual protein, calorie focus, water etc?

We have a lovely weekend ahead. I’ve walked the dog, been to the supermarket, deep cleaned the bathroom and have laundry on. We have a friend coming over later and will walk into town to have a wander and perhaps a glass of wine. A lazy day tomorrow with perhaps a touch of light DIY here and there.

Wegovy follow up- 1.7MG is definitely giving much more suppression. Scales this morning were down 1lb on Thursdays reading but it is very early days.

Have a great weekend losers!

Another absentee signing in with a sick note, Miss!

Sorry for being so antisocial. Have also been struck down with covid and it's been as bad as the very first time I had it 😭. Still not feeling quite right and worst of all have completely lost sense of smell which has never happened before. It is really freaking me out! DH's nickname for me is Super Schnoz, so I feel like I've lost my super hero power! 🦸‍♀️ Hope you're starting to feel better @tinyemmy , it probably was covid and I hope your son doesn't have it too @BreezyPeer , not least because it will have an negative effect on The Judgy Panel's fun for the weekend 😜 Good luck with the dates.

Belated happy birthday to @HeidiLite and sorry to hear about your chicken @Jins .

Glad the higher Wegovy dose is having more of an effect @meatyryvita .

Also loving celeb Traitors; may have even managed to persuade DH to watch with me 😱

Only positive thing to come out of this illness is that my weight seems to have plummeted (relatively!). Current weight is 10st 3.2lbs, which is 3.4lbs down on last week and 5.2lbs down from the last time I reported in. May not be permanent so I'll enjoy it while I can!

Hope you have a lovely weekend away for your anniversary @DGonMJ . We're supposed to be going away for ours next weekend too, so I hope I'm feeling better for that, as it's a favourite place to go with great food.

So much to catch up on so love to you all 🥰

Polkadotdash · 11/10/2025 14:12

Oh Juniper are totally shit. I put my order in with them on Wednesday. It still hadn’t been dispatched this morning. I contacted them (after battling through their AI chat bot) and they said ‘let us check with Dpd’. Alarm bells already. Dpd won’t deliver to our address on account of is being black listed for asking a driver not to block our drive. So petty of them but boy does it have an effect on us. And they won’t remove the ‘no delivery’ mark. Anyway. I messaged them straight back and said ‘do not send with Dpd’. They come back and say. It’s ok, it’s not been cleared for delivery yet. Phew I think.
10 mins later I get a link to my Dpd parcel tracking. Message again saying ‘not gonna work’. Message back says ‘will note for future’. Erm. Nope. It’s not gonna work. So Juniper have just wasted a pen. It will go to the depot, sit there and then be returned to them. And now I’ve got to get my money refunded and find another supplier to get me a pen. I’m SO cross about all of this.

Calling the judgy panel to the bench! 👩‍⚖️
@Aimingdown @PenelopesPursuitPrevails @myladyjane @Zempy @Jins @HeidiLite @DGonMJ @mince3point14159265 @meatyryvita
And anyone else who is interested in the small adventures of a middle aged dater.
So, I did go but not to the coast as that is just over an hour from here. We went to a local river and cafe instead. Had a lovely few hours. Walk along the riverbank (with his dogs who were mischievous!)
A coffee and chat before we set off and lunch afterwards. It was (again) disappointingly normal 🤣
We seem to get on well but I don't want to 'settle' if this is it, I need to be sure. In the interests of checking out my theory, if DS is still ok to be left, I will be meeting someone else tomorrow ( if they turn up etc) Today's date brought me chocolate and flowers. I am not used to being treated! It feels nice (although I did bring the chocolates straight home for DS when he feels better 😅)
Have a great weekend everyone. I will call the judgy panel again tomorrow if there is anything to report xx

Jins · 11/10/2025 15:51

Thanks all. Chicken named the brown one safely dispatched and very peaceful it was too. Silkie bantams tend to live about 7-9 years. She was the last remaining from our original 3 so she did very well indeed.

We’ve been to our local Diwali parade and it was just the thing to perk us up. Some of the children were superb dancers, others just enthusiastic but overall it was a much needed blaze of colour.

@HeidiLite I didn't think I needed a soup maker but after one batch I’m a convert. It’s very satisfying to just chuck the ingredients in and have some piping hot, perfectly blended soup in under half an hour. Thanks for the recipe suggestion @meatyryvita. Leek and potato is up next but Turkish lentil sounds like a strong contender for 3rd.

He sounds great so far. The dogs is a superb bonus.

Do you think you feel attracted to him? Would you be happy to kiss him?

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 11/10/2025 16:22

@BreezyPeer that sounds like a really lovely afternoon. Do you think you are having 'too staid' thoughts? or are you just questioning everything? Yes to @Zempy 's questions.

@meatyryvita I barely ate last week when I was ill, lots of soup, mostly homemade but on my worst day I had a tin of M&S cream of mushroom (which I'd not eaten before but was actually shockingly lovely). So, no particular rhyme or reason for almost a 2kg gain.

BlueLimes · 11/10/2025 16:32

@BreezyPeer i think you need to see him 2-3 more times. He does sound nice but if feels ‘average’ think you’d find more if that makes sense.

Sorry I’ve missed loads. Been shopping with DD.
Sorry to hear about the chicken @Jins
Feel I might need a soup maker - no association with chicken talk 😳
DD v v v expensive to maintain though.
