Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

Glad you’re feeling a bit better @Elliebearblues

10lb by Xmas sounds like a great goal @narcASD I’m doing well thanks, my first goal is 13 stone (from 14st 10lb) and I’m 8.4lb away from it so will keep that as my festive goal! And deal with the next two stone after Xmas. Grin

How are you @jaelato1?

@TheScreensNurseTheScreens Could you weigh… outside, if the ground is maybe flatter there?! Or are you a clothes-less weigher? Blush

@Elliebearblues make sure you are getting enough fibre, protein and iron, boost your immune system with high vitamins & minerals, Metatone tonic is really good for getting over a cold, I take it when feeling run down. Also stay hydrated.

7 weeks until Christmas today so my goal is to lose 10lbs by then.

anyone fancy setting a mini goal for themselves?

@Clumsykitten fantastic weight loss, I agree by midweek I struggle, I take my jab Friday or Saturday as find weekends hard.

I am always tired @StrongLikeMamma think peri and teens = permanent exhaustion!

how are you getting on @cheekysausage123

Honestly no I’m not getting enough of them except fluids with being so poorly since Fri evening. I am eating but not much. Never heard of metatone tonic, I am taking my vitamins and minerals though.

in 7 weeks I’d love to lose 7lbs my weight loss has been really slow compared to some but at least I am losing .. any more would be a bonus really x

@Elliebearblues Good to hear you're feeling a bit better, also ginger or peppermint tea for the nausea and stay dehydrated.

@narcASD Count me in! Need to lose another stone before christmas

Edited

I’ve got lemon and ginger tea but I’ve literally felt nauseous all night and the last thing I wanna do is make a cuppa lol x

My mini goal by Christmas is to lose another stone. That will take me to 9 stone 13, then I'll set my next goal which will be to get to 9 stone. Never thought that would be possible at my time of life but I'm starting to believe it it could actually happen 😃. That would make me the lightest I've been since my 20s! I'm 63.
Very happy this morning, lost another 2lbs. I seem to be doing ok on 5mg so not sure I will increase the dose or not.
@Elliebearblues hope you start to feel better soon and can carry on with the jabs.

cheekysausage123 · 06/11/2025 09:42

Yesterday, week 6, day 4, 5mg

B: one slice of sourdough toast with peanut butter and half a banana on, two coffees, one containing dose of collagen

L: minestrone soup and an english muffin toasted with cheese, can of diet coke

Sn: protein chocolate milk

D: one and a half homemade enchiladas and salad, followed by small slice of apple cake and a cuppa

Bit carby.

I have a top tip for fibre/lack of appetite. Snack on a bowl of fruit and fibre or bran flakes. In a little bowl like you might have crisps. They seem to go down ok for me.

Moomthemoo · 06/11/2025 12:04

Any thoughts on saving the golden dose? I've got to week 4 on 2.5mg and I've had 0 surpression. I was going to use the extra dose to spread out the cost, but I think I should go up to 5mg next week. Could I use the spares from each pen at the end of next month? Or is that a bit complex. Thankfully all seems to be moving along in the right direction.

So I havent told anyone at all other than one friend. I might do but its only day 4 for me so unless someone asks I'm not saying anything.

I havent even told DH which I know is awful. He will just say I dont need to and that'll annoy me. He has always said he thinks I look good at any weight but this bothers me as obv I dont want him to think I'm disgusting but it doesnt feel supportive in a way.

Jumping in here (sorry) but your post caught my attention as I also haven't told anyone I'm using the jabs - not even my husband. I'm managing ok, the hard bit is keeping the new one in the fridge until I start using it (Wegovy, I can keep at room temp after the first jab so easier to hide at that point). I'm burying it at the back of the fridge hidden at the moment. Do you find it easy keeping quiet about it? So far I'm cooking healthy food for both of us which he does like and I'm having smaller portions that I used to - he know I want to lose weight so hasn't seen anything unusual.

Hi, I haven't had to store in the fridge yet so will cross that bridge in a few weeks. I was just going to do the same and hide it, I just don't want to discuss it really so have just carried on as normal, he knows I want to lose weight also so I dont think he'll say anything.

jaelato1 · 06/11/2025 13:37

@cheekysausage123 I am doing well, thank you! Glad you are also well.
How is the 5mg, is the suppression better for you? I I think I might remain on 2.5, although I did order 5mg for my next dose....very undecisive right now lol but still got 4 doses of current 2.5mg to complete before making decision.

@DumpyKate As someone who didnt tell their DH and also hid the jab at the back of the fridge, DH eventually found it after Jab 3. I only hid it from him because he runs a healthcare business so I knew he will bang on about side effects. We had a sit down to discuss why I chose WLI route and he has been supportive ever since. Point being, you are doing this for you and you dont owe anyone an explanation espcially if you think they might judgemental or unsupportive.

Thanks - I do see your point. I probably will tell him at some point, once I'm sure it's working well for me. He will be concerned about side effects and probably surprised that I met the criteria to be honest. I lost weight last year and already look better but I never got into the healthy weight range, I really plateaued for about 6 months - I'm 'just' obese, not far off just overweight and I carry it well. Probably because I've always exercised and dress well - I think he has no idea that I meet the obese criteria.

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me arriving late to the party (and being male! but I did find mumsnet an invaluable source of information when I was literally left holding the baby many years ago)
Anyway I had my golden 5th dose on Monday of 2.5mg and I'm moving up to a 5mg pen next but I think I'll do a 3.75mg dose and see how it goes.

Height 5'10"
S.W 129.3kg yes I've let myself go!
C.W 119.3kg overjoyed with this 10kg loss
T.W 100kg

Can I just ask seeing as your DH runs a healthcare business any tips for feeling nauseous? Especially in the night when in bed or out when you just can’t reach for ginger tea or a cracker. Hope you don’t mind me asking x

jaelato1 · 06/11/2025 16:57

@Elliebearblues I have asked him and mentioned the below:

Aviod fatty or heavy meals for dinner
Before you sleep, you can munch on a one or half a cracker biscuit
Sip on cold water - not room temp

If all fails, best to get checked out. Hope this helps and you feel better soon

@Shitzngigglesfab goal, I raise my 10lb by Christmas to match your 1st goal! Seeing as I’ve another 4st to lose I should be able to do it!

@cheekysausage123thats a good solid goal, I’m 14st 2lb now so can’t wait to be in the 13’s, I’ve sat at 15st 7-10lbs for six years so if I can get into the next stone down I’ll be over the moon.

I am racing ahead of myself a bit! ordered a 7.5, still have 2 weeks of 5 left and another 5 pen on top, but I got a good deal and that’ll take me into the new year, despite saying I couldn’t afford it, I brought it anyway 🤣 early Christmas present to myself.

I topped up the 5 I took Friday with another 2.5 yesterday and suppression / food noise gone! Feel this maybe the dose where I actually feel something other than hunger!

welcome @Meandmypoochthink we’ve all let ourselves go a bit so we are all in the same boat, hopefully by losing some weight the boat won’t sink! 😆

Clumsykitten · 06/11/2025 21:20

Hello to the new people. 👋

Interesting hearing people’s choices about telling people. I’ve told almost no one apart from DH. I do think there’s a stigma.

How were you able to order so much in advance? The providers I'm with seem to not let you order until you're down to 2 or 3 jabs left from your current pen.

narcASD · 06/11/2025 21:46

Med express lets you order after 2 weeks - so if you can afford it, you could buy 2 pens in a month…
