Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb

I think it’s Definitely the cold making me feel miserable none of which are jab symptoms. I managed Bananna on toast this morning and half a bacon roll when out earlier as I could eat it all. The 5mg has upped its game and I’ve no interest in eating anything x

Sorry, this is my ignorance… you check and do this each time you order? Thank you!

Yes, I just order from whoever is cheapest.

Some days I feel completely wiped out. Other days, like today, I feel totally fine. It's so random.

Exactly! I’m shattered with cold feet today 🙄

On and off, before I had the stomach bug a few weeks ago I was wiped out, I’d sleep all night and went back to bed in the afternoons for 3 days whilst the kids were at school, I felt exhausted x

Clumsykitten · 04/11/2025 19:03

Weigh-in today for jab number 4. Slightly up on yesterday but I guess that’s just normal fluctuation?

Total weight loss 5.6kgs. Not too bad I think. I’m definitely finding it harder at this end of the week just before the jab.

jaelato1 · 04/11/2025 19:41

@Clumsykitten Well done you!
Not bad? That's a minimum of 3lbs loss per week, you go girl 👏. The suppression do tend to start wearing off for me by day 5-6.

Well done! That's an awesome loss in 4 weeks 🙌🏼

Clumsykitten · 04/11/2025 22:26

Thanks @Moosey898and @jaelato1- I am pleased. To be honest week 1 was tons and since then I think the main battle was to keep it off but make sure I wasn’t dehydrated. I’ve ordered the next dose up, but I actually will go back to 2.5mg if 5mg has hideous side effects.

I’m wondering when in the week it would be best to take the jab too. I’m definitely trying to get my head round all of this still 🤯

WegoGirl · 04/11/2025 22:42

I have a question and you guys are probably the best to ask. I haven’t decided whether or not to tell people I am trying the jabs. DH being close to his Mum just happened to tell her when they were alone chatting. Now the first I knew that she had been told was her making a point of telling me I couldn’t eat dessert as ‘I’ve heard you are in a diet’. When I said I wasn’t on a diet she started talking about how the jabs are expensive.
I was pretty annoyed he had told her as I see it as my decision who I tell. So would this bother you?

So I havent told anyone at all other than one friend. I might do but its only day 4 for me so unless someone asks I'm not saying anything.

I havent even told DH which I know is awful. He will just say I dont need to and that'll annoy me. He has always said he thinks I look good at any weight but this bothers me as obv I dont want him to think I'm disgusting but it doesnt feel supportive in a way.

VioletandMauve · 05/11/2025 06:43

@WegoGirl - I’d be absolutely furious with him! It’s your thing to tell people, not his.

@SexyFrenchDepression - I’ve told my DH who is like yours in that he says I look good whatever size I am which I suppose is far better than being told I look awful?! Also told my best friend but not my daughters or sisters, all of whom I’m close to but I wanted to keep it mainly to myself and carry on researching it until I’ve got through the first month, then I’ll tell them.

@Clumsykitten - well done on the weight loss that’s fabulous! I’ve decided I’ll weigh myself on Saturday mornings but jab on Sundays. That way I can enjoy a bit less food suppression on a Saturday night before it kicks in on a Sunday after the jab. If that makes sense!

StrongLikeMamma · 05/11/2025 08:09

@WegoGirl I’d also be furious!
Have only told DH and sworn him to secrecy. He has a big mouth and I seriously debated not telling him, but I just couldn’t be doing with trying to hide it.

narcASD · 05/11/2025 08:27

@jaelato1 I jab a different place each week, I’ve tried thigh, upper arm left and right side of stomach doesn’t really make a difference. I’ve actually just given myself another 2.5 as jabbed 5 on Friday and been really hungry the last 2 days and overeaten, craved junk and sweet things!

another 5 doses then I’ll just stick to calorie counting and exercise as can’t justify spending so much per month.

jaelato1 · 05/11/2025 08:46

@narcASD It's really is strange how we all respond to MJ. I know it is expensive but maybe 7.5mg is what you need as it seems you have done just that albeit not in one go.

@WegoGirl You have every right to be furious. I didnt even tell my DH but he found out and we had the talk and he has been really supportive.

@Clumsykitten I take mine Thursday night because I work compressed hours so I can have a longer weekend, this way I avoid eating myself to oblivion 🙃

In the day I’m ok, but it gets to around 4pm and I’m ready for bed
I’ve just taken jab 5 and it’s the first time, I’ve not felt like an iceblock or nauseous ☺️

Brilliant loss xx

Elliebearblues · 05/11/2025 19:02

Feeling so much better today apart from a chesty cough think my immune system is low from the bug a few weeks ago also got the kids home poorly too.
the only effect I get from upping my dose now is nausea again on and off and at night too, not sure what to do to help it. Any advice? x

narcASD · 05/11/2025 19:24

@Elliebearblues make sure you are getting enough fibre, protein and iron, boost your immune system with high vitamins & minerals, Metatone tonic is really good for getting over a cold, I take it when feeling run down. Also stay hydrated.

7 weeks until Christmas today so my goal is to lose 10lbs by then.

anyone fancy setting a mini goal for themselves?

@Clumsykitten fantastic weight loss, I agree by midweek I struggle, I take my jab Friday or Saturday as find weekends hard.

I am always tired @StrongLikeMamma think peri and teens = permanent exhaustion!

how are you getting on @cheekysausage123

jaelato1 · 05/11/2025 20:04

@Elliebearblues Good to hear you're feeling a bit better, also ginger or peppermint tea for the nausea and stay dehydrated.

@narcASD Count me in! Need to lose another stone before christmas

StrongLikeMamma · 05/11/2025 20:20

@narcASDsnap with the peri and teens! 🙄🤣

I’m shattered and currently trying to force down some home made minestrone soup - couldn’t face anything else, trying not to eat too little.

StrongLikeMamma · 05/11/2025 20:28

Glad you’re feeling better @Elliebearblues

TheScreensNurseTheScreens · 05/11/2025 21:54

I’m a few days in to the first 5mg dose. I’ve lost about 7lbs. I say ‘about’ because I’ve realised my scales are rubbish, well they might not be, but as there isn’t a single room in the house with a level floor (very old house) I’m not sure I’m getting an accurate reading. Can change between 2-3lbs depending on where I place it. I decided if I just leave it in exactly the same place that would work until I’ve researched if there are any scales that will work on a non level surface! I had suppression from the first week, tails off a little the day before injection, but not too bad. I was expecting suppression but I wasn’t expecting that what I do eat and drink to be so joyless now. Nothing tastes delicious or satisfying, and I’m a bit sad about that. I treated us to fillet steak last night, and I don’t mind that I couldn’t finish it, but I didn’t even enjoy the bit I did have.
