Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

I jab on Sunday mornings with my husband
I started with Covid symptoms on Tuesday morning, really poorly till Saturday then started to feel better. I had planned to miss Sunday jab but by that time I was improving so I just carried on. Glad that I did Smile

great that you carried on! I can imagine that would really throw me.

@StrongLikeMamma I only felt rough on Jab 1, i had headaches for 3 days and tiredness in the first 24hrs but havent had any side effects on other jabs. However some have side effects until their body adjust to MJ

I'm just 5.1 tall so i need to be 9st to get to healthy BMI then I'll probably need to lose another 0.8 stone to give myself a wiggle room

@FlibbertyGibbitt Well done 👏

Edited

I’m definitely thinking I’ll need some wiggle room in order to keep to a healthy bmi.

Having felt horrible yesterday, am feeling much better after a good night’s sleep.

I’m not working today so going to stock up on protein & fibre focused food. I really had to force myself to eat yesterday, because of the nausea.

Planning a gym visit too. Am very keen to maintain the (small amount of) muscles I’ve been developing since last year!

Is anyone getting supression on 2.5mg? I’m not 😩 on a plus but the scales have been slowly going down not much but something at least .. been on the jabs 3 weeks now.

I'm on week 3 as well. Still getting full on less food but hunger pangs are increasing. Looking forward to increasing to 5mg now. Lost 2lbs this week so 12lbs in total. Will you go up to 5mg?

narcASD · 24/10/2025 11:41

Morning all, took my first 5 today which I felt was definitely needed, @Elliebearbluesi didn’t feel much suppression on 2.5 at all. Must of helped a bit but still thought of food a lot and was hungry.

Weighed in this morning and gained 1lb 😳 I do weigh daily but was a bit disappointed

I am. I find it easy enough to eat low calories on it and my appetite is definitely reduced. Not losing a huge amount though.

It's interesting how differently our bodies are reacting.

WegoGirl · 24/10/2025 12:48

Hi joining you all here as I injected last Saturday for the first time. Have been lurking and it’s been interesting seeing everyone’s experiences.
I haven’t had much appetite suppression but am eating a little less. The main thing I noticed is after eating a small sausage butty I felt uncomfortable. So it is definitely helping me make healthier choices. DH suggested fish and chips one night and it was a very firm no form me!

jaelato1 · 24/10/2025 12:52

@StrongLikeMamma Ah glad you feeling bettter today. I just started strength training myself to add to my daily 10k steps. We need preserve the muscle lol

@Elliebearblues I am still getting suppression from 2.5, its midday and i have totally forgotten to eat because i wasnt hungry. Although i suspect the i took more than 2.5 yesterday as i used the golden dose. Maybe its time for you to up your dose, might also want to read up on insulin resistance. Some people wont feel huge suppression due to this unless they are on higher doses.

I’m nervous about going to 5mg even though it is recommended. I’ll stay on 2.5mg as recommended for another week and then I may do 3.75mg perhaps.

How long have you been on 2.5mg? I’ll do another week of 2.5mg as recommended then move up. Unsure whether to go straight to 5mg or 3.75mg though. I used to weigh everyday but I was getting a bit much.

I’m not counting calories as didn’t want to go down that route ad I’ve done calorie counting before. I’d say my appetite is reduced slightly compared to what it was before having MJ.

VioletandMauve · 24/10/2025 13:38

I’m still on week 1, 2nd injection is due on Sunday. Still loving it, had minimal side effects and now the food suppression has started to lessen for around 2 days now.

Excited and nervous for that first weigh in on Sunday - anyone else been on their first jab this week?

I think the first week I did get the supression slighly so I know what it feels like but it’s hardly there now. I think I’ll do my 4th week at 2.5mg as recommended but then maybe go to 3.75mg as I’m a bit nervous to go straight to 5mg.

Hello fellow first weeker - I’m assuming your first weigh in is tomorrow? If it is - good luck! 😊

StrongLikeMamma · 24/10/2025 15:48

We def need to preserve muscle @jaelato1 💪🏼

I injected Weds night and haven’t thought about food since.

Thinking I might change day next week though… is it better to wait until the next day you want to do? So have a longer week, rather than a shorter one - IYSWIM?

I’m sure I read somewhere you need to leave 3 days between doses so anytime next week would be fine to do your jab. I normally jab Mon evenings so I can have some wine on the weekend without feeling rubbish.

I'm moving my day forward 1 day at a time so it's 3 days earlier than the first, but over 3 weeks if that makes sense, so jabs are 6 days apart for now.

narcASD · 24/10/2025 17:39

@Elliebearbluesi did 4 weeks at 2.5, but took the golden dose midweek in the last week, if that makes sense? so effectively had a 5ml dose spread over a week.

Took my first 5 this morning and at lunchtime took my eldest to McDonald as she wanted a vegan burger and I got myself a quarter pounder with cheese 😖 tasted crap (as it is crap) and left most of the bun, I’ve had no side effects other than I’m not hungry at all for any dinner, so will have some soup later. I was always hungry on 2.5

Ah ok so if i did weds i’d do tues next time then monday then sunday - so going backwards a day each week - does that sound ok?

I’m scared to go up to 5mg, wondering if I should do 3.75 first when I move up

narcASD · 24/10/2025 20:01

@Elliebearblues do you think it’s the jab thats made you unwell or you’ve just been unlucky and got unwell while taking the jab?

have you read the side effects pamphlet that comes with it? What are your symptoms?
I suffer from IBS, also acid reflux and I had my gallbladder removed years ago, so was terrified of taking MJ, i have felt very tired today and a bit nauseous, maybe try the 3.75 first and see? You can always top up a bit after leaving at least 3 days between.

Generally I’ve been ok except last Fri to Mon when I had diarrhoea and sickness, I did go up a dose to 3.75mg on the Monday and was fine until Friday.. so was it a bug or the jab I’m wondering or did I move up too soon, I hadn’t taken the full 4 doses of 2.5mg either before I tried to move up so I’m really nervous now about going up a dose again. I went back down to 2.5mg Monday and have been fine.
