Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Gosh it’s our anniversary month. Well done everyone! Thank you for being a fabulous group of ladies. Not quite my matter where you are on your journey you are fantastic and continue to be.

Not quite my anniversary date yet but I guess our actual dates will come fast a furious this month.

All hail to our great leader @Mounjaropen for keeping us going.

So I'm 1lb away from a 3st loss. It's interesting that others seem to a achieve this in a few months but I don't mind losing slowly. I'm on 10mg and I don't feel it's having a big noticeable impact, I sometimes want large portions and sweet stuff, and I've been eating more chocolate recently. 12.5mg was similar so I guess I could go up to 15mg but I feel I'm probably best off just sticking with the 10mg and using willpower.

Not sure what my goal is now, this is close to the least I've weighed as an adult, previously. But I do feel I can definitely stand to lose more so I'll keep going (slowly!).

Happy Halloween 🎃

It’s approx one year since I started this MJ journey. In this time I’ve lost more than 5 and a half stone and reached my first goal weight of 11 stone (which I thought was impossible! Now I’ve scraped into the 10s). Rather magical! 🧙

Hope everyone has had a good week and a lovely weekend lined up.

We are at MILs. She’s not a bad woman but has been a nightmare over the years about my weight (I’m too fat for her son etc). She is literally obsessed with weight and always comments on other people. I last saw her in the summer and she commented on my weight loss then but I’ve obviously lost some more since then. One of the first things she said to me last night when we arrived was ‘have you lost more weight?’ I said ‘oh a bit’ and she commented how she’s put more on. I just said I wouldn’t worry. Then later on she brought it up again and asked me if it’s been a struggle to lose the weight. I pretended not to hear the first time (we were eating dinner) but she repeated it. I just said I’ve learned I can’t eat as much as I’d like to, sadly!

Later on, she actually asked me ‘you’re not taking anything to help you lose the weight are you?’ 🙄 If she had been more supportive over the years and not the woman she is I may have been honest. As it is, I lied and said no. I did say I’m eating a lot less and doing more exercise (which is true).
Apparently this morning when I was in the shower she told DH it’s good I’ve lost weight. But again asked about tablets and injections 🙄

I have a feeling the interrogation is not over yet…

Urgh it's that accusatory tone isn't it? Puts me right off sharing anything about mounjaro. If people are going to make judgements before they know the truth, they don't deserve the truth!

Hope you managed to find off further interrogation efforts @goldleafcat

It’s funny how we’re all different isn’t it? Because I jab before bed, and never have an issue (aside from insomnia on the first day of jabbing).

Congratulations at breaking the plateau though! 😂

It really is fascinating and I actually thought of you when I jabbed pre-bed thinking about your advice to do anything hormonal at that time! I may have just had too much high fat food and red meat in my system to be honest.

PinkArt · 01/11/2025 12:35

Thanks for the support, gang. You're awesome. I didn't tell anyone in real life about the scan as my go to friend for stuff like this has got other things to worry about at the moment.
I think it went ok. She didn't see anything that suggests cancer anywhere, so I can stop panicking about that. My GP will get the report in 7-10 days but she said 'nothing too serious ' to worry about. I asked if that meant there was something less serious and she said there were a couple of things to go in the report but not what they were.
Obviously I'd rather not wait to know but that feels like an ok position to be in. Nothing super urgent, no cancer, but it's weirdly slightly reassuring to know that something looks a bit but not very off and that I'm not just being a hypochondriac.

LindtCurves · 01/11/2025 17:45

Forgive me my fellow death jabbers for I have binged...

Is anyone else binging, but on very weird stuff?

I had quite a big dinner out earlier this week so should have been full. I got home and fancied a couple of crackers (decent ones, not UPF). Lo and behold, I had the entire pack, probably 20 crackers! Couldn't stop. Great for my fibre intake, but what on earth...?

Should I worry?

I'm in maintenance, certainly jabbing again tomorrow.

I’ve everything crossed for you. we’re here if you need us - sometimes it’s easier to tell people who aren’t IRL how you really feel or what you are worried about.

No one knows what I weighed this time last year other than you guys, and I thank you all for your support .

We’ll all have days like this. It’s one day and it’s the weekend, In ‘before times’ I bet you’d have done this more than once every 6 months? Be kind to yourself.

I’ve had chicken and chips tonight from the traditional chippy. I had an itch I needed to scratch, plus my dishwasher is broken and DH has been out all day. It wasn’t as fab as I remember but I enjoyed it. And I’ve had all the rose wine this evening watching strictly 😂

I've just had a week in an all inclusive resort. I wasn't strict but focused on Mediterranean diet and stopped eating when I felt I'd had enough. I had a couple of desserts but generally didn't want them. Lots of cocktails which were partly offset by walking up hills! 2lb gained and I reckon a few weeks of no snacks or booze will knock that off. It'll include some bloating anyway. I was dreading the weigh in but pleasantly surprised

SerenePeer · 02/11/2025 11:31

2lbs is nothing @darkforces - a good poo and a week of no booze and you'll be back to where you were. I'm sure I've managed to pack on 7 - 10lbs in the past when I've spent a fortnight all inclusive 😳

SerenePeer · 02/11/2025 11:44

Happy Sunday death jabbers!

So a year ago today I submitted my photo to Voy and signed up (not sure when my first jab was as i hadnt found shotsy or this forum then!). I was 15 stone 0.6lbs, squeezing into size 16s (and mostly wearing elasticated waists), miserable and couldn't face staying that fat. I couldn't run, bending down to tie my shoes left me breathless, my belly got in the way of yoga and lots of other exercises at the gym. And although I was a regular gym bunny and quite strong thanks to weightlifting, I looked and felt like a big fat frump.

1 year later and I now weigh 10 stone 10lbs. My BMI is 23 and I mostly wear a size 12. I've fallen back in love with getting dressed in nice clothes, I do pilates every week and my belly no longer stops me doing anything! I still have a little belly, but it will disappear eventually.

I can walk into a shop and not worry about being too fat to shop there. I no longer eat a giant bar of Dairy Milk in 48 hours - I'd much rather have some sea salt dark chocolate and it takes me a week to eat a small bar! I look in the mirror and I like what I see. I have so much more confidence and life is just so much easier without an extra 4 stone to carry around everywhere!

Thank goodness for mounjaro.

I'm so glad I found you all too. It's fabulous cheering everyone else on and knowing I'm not on this road alone!

DarkForces · 02/11/2025 11:45

Love the good poo suggestion @SerenePeer 😂 . I've come back with a bug so can't face getting out of bed to eat so that should help. Back to work tomorrow and was hoping to be renewed not feeling rubbish 😭

@PinkArti hope they identify something that can be fixed/tweaked/managed so you can worry less about it.

I’m craving cauliflower cheese. Made with very strong cheese. Preferably eaten with some gammon. I live alone and don’t have the freezer space to house what I wouldn’t eat. And I know that much cheese would hurt after.

DarkForces · 02/11/2025 12:06

@jay55 could you buy a decent supermarket cauliflower cheese and grate a bit extra on? Minimal effort but may fix the craving?

Make single portion of the cauliflower cheese then use the rest of the cauliflower as maybe cauliflower rice or make it part of your roasted veg during the week?

My tummy is regretting the chicken and chips yesterday. Obviously chip shop chips are worse for you because home made chips (in a deep fat fryer) have no effect on me at all. I also had two glasses of my fancy sipping tequila on the rocks (Clase Azul - beautiful bottles) whilst watching ‘swiped’ on Disney last night which I don’t think was a great idea with hindsight…especially as I’d had a massage earlier in the day..😂 Would recommend the film tho - very good.

I'm obsessively weighing this week to see if I can hit the 5.5 stone loss for my mounjaroversary and hit a separate milestone today - I'm in onederland. 'Only' 199 pounds now. What a skinny bitch!
I'm nervous that whatever the ultrasound results are might be something that makes them say I should stop taking mounjaro, so am keen to keep losing as much as possible until that does happen.

Today is my mounjaroversary!

365 days
50 jabs (I skipped a couple of weeks early on)
72 lbs down
25 cm off my waist
£££ spent!
100+ gym workouts
10 miles + swam
10 BMI points down
8 visceral fat points down
7 years added to my age by bloody Renpho scales 🤬
700+ litres of water drunk!
24 ribs, + collarbone and other bones re-discovered!

And I wouldn’t change a bloody thing! This has changed my life. I have my life back. I’m still heavier than a lot of you started out at (I’m just over 16 stone) but I couldn’t have imagined this a year ago as I did my first injection. I will get the last 4 out 5 stone off over the next year (with the help of my little stockpile!).

Thank you everyone for being here on this joint (no pun intended but I could barely walk a year ago because of chronic hip pain) journey. I don’t think I would’ve stayed on Mounjaro this long without this thread. Just being able to say things we don’t say irl is such a massive help.

Congrats to us all, whether you’re at goal or still going like I am.

Thank you to @Mounjaropen for keeping us together and motivating us to go on when we need it the most.

And I’ve got everything crossed for you re your scan @PinkArt. I hope it’s something very easily fixable.

Sermon over! 😘

Happy Mounjaroversary to meeee!

And what a year it’s been. Aside from the weight loss (see below) I’ve shopped for new clothes in my existing wardrobe, I’ve had zero colds or illnesses and I’m so much happier I can’t tell you. I’ve accepted invitations without hesitation, got married and bought a wedding dress without a second thought, worn a bikini and bought Zara size XS trousers. Thank you to everyone who has been on this thread this past year and helped to provide the support and encouragement for everyone who has reached their goal, still losing and those who have fallen off the wagon (we’ve got you). We’ve learned about good food choices, how to manage our health using data and introduced supplements to boost our bodies.

The only downsides (genuinely) have been the absence of a deeply satisfying 💩 and the appearance of a scraggy neck.. The upsides far outweigh these.

So My annual report reads as this:

Weight stats:
SW - 193lbs
CW - 132lbs (it’s also my lowest weight)
TL 61lbs or 32% of my starting weight
From the results of ‘Our future health’ it would appear I was actually 14.5 stone earlier in 2024…
BMI start - 31.5 (obese)
BMI now - 21.7 (Healthy)
Dress size start - 18+
Dress size now - 8
I’ve lost 6 inches off my waist.

Exercise stats:

Muscle mass (November 25) - 70.5%
Body fat (Dec 25) - 38.1%
Body fat (November 25) - 25%
Metabolic age (March 25) - 56
Metabolic Age (November 25) - 50
(Actual age next week - 54)

Health stats
2024 Cholesterol was 6.59
2025 cholesterol is 5.0
HDL (good cholesterol) 2024 was 1.86
HDL 2025 is 1.94
LDL 2024 was 3.10

I'll need to book a GP appointment to discuss them but the ultrasound results are on the NHS app now and essentially nothing seems to be wrong. Which is obviously great news but leaves the question of what's going on still hanging.
It flagged that I've got a mild fatty liver, which I don't think is surprising considering how much weight I was carrying around my abdomen this time last year and that I'm still not quite out of the obese range. Mounjaro is supposed to be good news for livers though, as is weight loss in general, so hopefully I'm doing the right thing already to help that.
Pancreas, spleen, kidneys looked fine, no sign of anything wrong in the area where the dull pain mainly is.
If my GP is out of things we can investigate then I think I'll need to approach it as a digestive thing and see what else I can do with diet to make it happier.
