I've found an old one of mine.
Next to a much more recent one.

So that's 15st down to 12st.
In ten months or so.

I think that what those pictures show is that weight loss is much more noticeable as we get thinner.

It's also much slower.
🤣 that would have been about one stone every sixteen weeks.

@TragicMuse wow what a difference, amazing

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Whitwoo, just look at those legs, gorgeous

My one piece of advice for anyone just starting out is to take regular pictures. I do mine once a month, and its such a buzz seeing the progress. I can't see it when I look in the mirror, but the camera sure picks it up

TragicMuse · 04/10/2025 20:02

Thanks Broon and Billy!

Your legs look fantastic Broon! I’m looking forward to hitting the 12s - it’s not for ages yet!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 04/10/2025 20:03

You look amazing @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne in both those photos!!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 04/10/2025 20:46

Thank you everyone with your kind comments / advice to help me to hang in there! And those photos are amazing and inspirational!

I feel a lot more cheerful about it all now and will just keep plodding on 😍

Week 29 weigh in.

Another 3lb off this week bringing total loss to 5st 9lb (35.8kg).

This brings my current weight to a lovely round 20st exactly, I was thinking initially that today's loss means I would see the 19's but that'll be next weeks milestone- unless you listen to Shotsy........🤣

44% of my target achieved, just another 11lb before I'll be on the downward slope of having lost more than I have left to lose, I imagine that will be a nice feeling along with getting to under 40bmi which is exactly 40lb away.

Now I've just made myself depressed that at 2lb a week that 40lb will take me til the 20thFeb 😣

Well done and thats amazing. Try and be kinder to yourself and celebrate what you have achieved. Is there any rush to get to a particular weight. The slower you go the less chance of loss skin etc. It probably took you a while to add the weight so not unreasonable for your body to think Im gonna take my time.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 03/10/2025 12:37

@Billybingbong you look amazing!

@mamabeeboo i also love the ‘just’ approach. I am having real problems getting started doing anything, having some investigations for fatigue and HRT efficacy and I think this could really help me on days I feel stuck to the sofa.

One thing I aM finding is the negative thoughts / self sabotage is so strong, does anyone else feel like this? It’s like my brains is convinced this isn’t working because every other thing I have tried over the decades hasn’t worked. It clearly is working, I have lost 3st 4.5lb since the start of May. I sit and stare at my graphs and charts but still feel down about it all not working.

I think it’s partly as I still can’t fit in smaller clothes or trousers, I bought some size 20’s and they all had to go back. I am wearing 24’s and thought surely I’d be nearly there but some wouldn’t even go up my legs. Also still struggling to see any visible difference in photos, my clothes are baggier and that’s about it.

I really need to learn to look on the bright side!

Its sad isnt it that we all focus on the external side of our bodies and dont think about the important internal bits _ the hearts saying oh that feels better that was hard work or the livers having a bit more space to do their job.

Keep going no struggling for breath when going up stairs is thinking oh I wish my legs were thinner.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 05/10/2025 08:30

Hi all. Hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm also finding that the group for my month has quite a few people with very small amounts to lose (at least one who has reached goal in about 12 weeks!) and I feel like I have a longer journey than most - the chat on there is already owing down.

I started at 139kg/BMI 51 and in 12 weeks I've lost 17.5kg and my BMI is 44.8. What's really frustrating is that I lost almost all this weight a few years ago without medication but put most of it back on. Couldn't face doing it again so decided to give the jabs a try and am thrilled with how well they are working. Reading your posts I'm a bit annoyed I didn't take a before photo (did a live video call with the provider so didn't need one) but I might take one today.

PearlsPearl · 05/10/2025 09:13

Week 1 (on 1.25) and I've lost 1/2 a pound which I'm happy with. Will jab 2mg tonight. I am going to log everything this week as a reset and to stop me snacking.

@RenegadeKeeblerElf welcome to the best thread on these boards 🤗

Lds1 · 05/10/2025 10:06

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping welcome to the chart! Congrats!

Rainbowcat77 · 05/10/2025 10:52

I’m celebrating a bit of a milestone today because I’ve lost 2 stone as of my weigh in this morning.
I started at the beginning of August (MJ started in the middle of August though) so roughly 2stone in 2 months.
My next mini target is to be under the 300lb mark…I have 8lb to go until then.
I love all the encouragement and inspiration this thread brings!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 05/10/2025 11:05

@RenegadeKeeblerElf welcome!
Do take a photo today. You'll regret it later on, when you have nothing for comparison purposes. It sounds like you're doing really well.

@Rainbowcat77 well done on your 2st milestone!

@PearlsPearl I think we're all rooting for you, my darling. Keep going. Slow and sure.
♥️

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping Yay! You're on the chart!

And to myself - I can't believe that I'm only "overweight" now.
I've gone from a BMI of over 50 down to 29.8. I never thought it was possible.

OP posts:
PearlsPearl · 05/10/2025 11:27

Thank you 😘

Broon It must feel so amazing to be ‘overweight’ but how stupid is the chart anyway?! Yet still I want to work my way down it, even though I think it’s ridiculous.

@Rainbowcat77 well done on the 2 stone! Keep going and you’ll see that 2 instead of 3 at the start of your lbs really soon.

It’s a proper autumn day here in my corner of Scotland. Bright sunshine, cold air. I love it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2025 11:41

Def always take pics. They make such a diff and it is a boost when you see how far you have done

Lds1 · 05/10/2025 11:49

Ok so here's the only part pic I have of me in old times, and a couple of recent ones.

I’M ON THE CHART!!

23kg down and I’ve made it to Class 2. Woo hoo!

🎉🎉🎉 well done! I checked yesterday and rather depressingly I have another stone and a half to lose before I’m on the chart 😏. However I am feeling good, I’ve dug out old bras and clothes that I haven’t worn for at least 5 years - Gudrun XXL amongst them - and they’re currently in the washer as they fit! I’ve ordered a few items from JD Williams and I keep having to reorder to a smaller size. I’m now a 22 in most things, down from 28+, and some stretchy jeans (jeans!) are going back to try the 20, as the 22 I could wear but they felt they wouldn’t last long before they were too big. I’m targeting getting to 17st by end of year, down from 22.

TragicMuse · 05/10/2025 12:55

Hello losers! Welcome new friends!

I have been on a shopping spree! Went for a personal styling session in John Lewis and have spent money on a fantastic dress, some trousers, 2 skirts and a jacket.

I feel so good about myself. I look pretty damn fantastic!

TragicMuse · 05/10/2025 13:29

AND one of things she brought me to try was a shirt which was too big in an 18 and fitted in a 16. It was a bit too shapeless in the end - no darts or shaping - so I didn’t buy it. But. A 16!! What joys. I tried on LOADS because they had my size across lots of ranges and brands. I wasn’t limited to Live Unlimited!

AND it was altogether a real pleasure to find clothes that worked as well clothes that didn’t - because when they didn’t it was that they didn’t suit me not because they didn’t fit.

Thank you, on Thursday 79.1kg / 12 stone, 6 lb (ish). The one in the grey top is this morning and the one in the dress is a few weeks ago.
