I Ordered some mounjaro from my friends aesthetic lady, it arrived... unlabelled vial of powder & a separate vial of water to mix it!
I know mj is only licenced in pen form so got in touch with her to ask wtf it is.. she said its 100% mounjaro & tried to give me some bullshit about different suppliers & it being generic like nurofen & ibuprofen, which of course is bollocks.
She refused to take it back & my mate got all upset as its her botox lady and she doesnt want to piss her off etc so she said she'd just give me the money & she'd take it herself.
Whatever.
But wtf ... people are actually taking this shit! What even is it?
The needles & syringes she chucked in the bag weren't even sealed. I don't understand how places are getting away with selling this stuff

Because stupid people are buying it from the botox lady. I mean wtf? Do you buy all your prescription drugs from some random stranger? Bin it and ask for your money back. And use a real pharmacy

Offredismysister · 12/09/2025 14:01

Is this a joke?

SilenceInside · 12/09/2025 14:02

There is no generic Mounjaro, the patent is held by Eli Lilly and anything else claiming to be Mounjaro could be anything. If you're lucky it's nothing harmful.

Didn't you realise that you need a prescription from a pharmacist or a doctor to access prescription-only medication?

You can report this person to the MHRA for selling fake medication.

Woompund · 12/09/2025 14:05

What on earth did you expect?

MissSophiaGrace · 12/09/2025 14:10

But, but YOU ordered and paid for it. Why?
Jesus Christ, just why? If you have more money than you know what to do with, I can send you my address.

JustPinkFinch · 12/09/2025 14:15

We live in the age of the internet. Every piece of information in existence is at your finger tips. Yet you ordered MJ from your mate's beautician.

Come on now.

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/09/2025 14:17

Yes, stupid people are ordering prescription medicine from randoms. You know, because that was you.

KrankyKumquat · 12/09/2025 14:29

What did you expect? You buy a POM from a beautician and are suddenly outraged about being ripped off? Would you have been happy if you'd be been supplied with the real deal? Don't think you've come to the right place if you're looking for sympathy and suggestions for how to get your money back.

Jeez.

KitsyWitsy · 12/09/2025 14:29

Were you expecting genuine Mounjaro from a beautician? Why would you order it in the first place? This is why they have a market!

The stupidity on these boards astounds me every day.

So you bought a prescription only medication off a friends beautician and you’re surprised that it’s dodgy?

HansHolbein · 12/09/2025 14:31

If this is true, it’s pathetic.

HansHolbein · 12/09/2025 14:31

Oh, and welcome to Mumsnet.

TrousersOfTime · 12/09/2025 14:34

There's a huge issue with fake mounjaro. Some has been insulin, and has made people really poorly, but it could be literally anything. Report the beautician to trading standards please and give them the drug she supplied.

RedNine · 12/09/2025 14:36

😬😬😬

tgif1 · 12/09/2025 14:38

Probably the compound peptide Tirzepatide, MJs active ingredient. I know quite a few people taking the stuff if I’m honest. None seem to be having any ill effects but obviously it is a gamble/risk. Some people willing to take it, others not. You can send peptides off to be tested in a laboratory which should tell you the compound and its purity. Costly though.

unsync · 12/09/2025 14:40

I'd also be concerned about the legitimacy of the botox she uses. It's not that much of a reach is it? In your position, I would be reporting her.

Wildgoat · 12/09/2025 14:42

So I’m guessing it was cheap and you’re not eligible. What did you think you were going to get? I mean cmon.

moondune · 12/09/2025 14:43

Yes it’ll be compound Tirzepatide. If you know what you’re doing it’s fine. And far cheaper than buying ready made pens.

Why someone would buy it from a beautician though is beyond me (and the beautician is breaking the law). Just buy it direct from a reliable and trustworthy peptide company.

Because it’s cheap and they aren’t eligible.

Same. Most of my friendship group are taking just semaglutide, the active ingredient in wegovy. They buy a vial at a time and order injections from amazon

moondune · 12/09/2025 14:49

@WildgoatPeptide companies aren’t interested in eligibility as you are buying it purely for ‘research purposes’.

Disclaimer: I would not buy it this way if I wasn’t actually eligible. Some people do of course.

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 12/09/2025 14:51

I take it - I have maintained my weight for over a year so have many of my friends
it’s cheap
it works
I don’t give a fuck if other people don’t like it

nellietheellie75 · 12/09/2025 14:56

Playing with fire if you take it. Who the f buys a prescription drug from a beautician!?

It’s beyond belief that you have purchased a prescription drug through such a stupid route. You and your friend have no idea what you have purchased from an unregulated supplier. At least you recognised that the needles she gave you were not safe you use either.

I doubt the Botox medication she offers is of top quality either under these circumstances. You need to report her.

A very cavalier attitude to health & safety.

stayathomer · 12/09/2025 15:09

Op if you need to take/ do something that involves medication, go to a gp
