I Ordered some mounjaro from my friends aesthetic lady, it arrived... unlabelled vial of powder & a separate vial of water to mix it!
I know mj is only licenced in pen form so got in touch with her to ask wtf it is.. she said its 100% mounjaro & tried to give me some bullshit about different suppliers & it being generic like nurofen & ibuprofen, which of course is bollocks.
She refused to take it back & my mate got all upset as its her botox lady and she doesnt want to piss her off etc so she said she'd just give me the money & she'd take it herself.
Whatever.
But wtf ... people are actually taking this shit! What even is it?
The needles & syringes she chucked in the bag weren't even sealed. I don't understand how places are getting away with selling this stuff

Same. Most of my friendship group are taking just semaglutide, the active ingredient in wegovy. They buy a vial at a time and order injections from amazon

What ???? Get non medical grade needles from Amazon? Bloody hell!

OverlyFragrant · 12/09/2025 15:12

Report her to trading standards before someone dies

Not sure which ones they order but they look like insulin injections. Look medical grade. Its what most people use for the golden dose extraction x

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 12/09/2025 15:21

Why not buy from a proper online pharmacy? At least try to ensure its proper medical grade for humans @dontcomeatme not all Amazon sellers can say what grade it is.

Kipperandarthur · 12/09/2025 15:25

It's illegal shoddy stuff basically being sold to utterly stupid people.
That's your answer.

No idea I'm not the one buying them 🤷🏻‍♀️ they just bought the same ones their friends were using for the golden dose.

I take it - I have maintained my weight for over a year so have many of my friends
it’s cheap
it works
I don’t give a fuck if other people don’t like it

Oh God.

This is what people must be thinking of when they say you don’t know what’s in it. Some people really don’t!

I absolutely could not ever, buy off brand whatever-the-fuck from some beauty salon. Christ.

BoboCat · 12/09/2025 16:12

Wow

No need for the pile on at all.
All i knew was she's an independent prescriber. I couldn't get my pen in time for going on an impromptu break so I ordered one from her.
As I said, as soon as i saw it i knew it wasnt licenced MJ. I didnt use it. I had no intention of using it. I have binned it, I wouldn't jeopardise my health, nor was it cheaper than regular 7.5mg.
All i was asking was wtf is in that shit, I had no idea there was shady stuff so readily dished out.

Absolutely no need for the pile on, or to imply I'm thick.
What a set of bitches. No wonder mumsnet has such a bad rep.

🙄

But she is not a legal independent prescriber though. She was trying to pass off something that’s illegal.

Does she has proper authorisation to prescribe? If not she needs reporting, if she has then she also needs reporting.

This is what the regulators are trying to crack down on.

It is slightly more important than "don't like it"

It is concern for other peoples health and safety and disgust at the people who are taking direct risks with other peoples health to make a quick buck.

This is a different level from a dodgy firestick or fake nike trainers, it is, even when sourced legally, a high risk injectable drug.

I am glad you have not been harmed by it.....yet, and do hope you do not get harmed by it in the future, but the fact is you are playing russian roulette with your health, you have no idea what is in each bottle/vial/syringe you buy this way.

Is the beautician a registered Independent Prescriber Pharmacist? A GP?
She should be reported if she’s not registered. I hope she has qualifications for the administration of Botox etc.
Just as well you were aware this wasn’t MJ and that they were the wrong sort of needles. Some people wouldn’t have known.

heloobyeee111111111 · 12/09/2025 16:44

i know the real mounjaro are too expensive but never buy from salons or aesthetics. They give the whole thing of being “generic” that’s why you mix them together blah blah blah. But someone I know gets them from an aesthetic and while she has lost weight she told me the other day she’s taking 30mg a week because the 15mg don’t work for her. I was completely shocked and thought how unsafe. It’s clearly whatever she has been given by this aesthetic person that isn’t actually mounjaro

Wildgoat · 12/09/2025 16:50

All i knew was she's an independent prescriber

what, that is a registered pharmacist or gp. You can’t possibly have believed she was either? And if she charged you mounjaro prices she saw you coming a mile off, especially if you beleived as you say she was actually a registered pharmacy or gp.

im struggling to believe the people who buy crap, make it up and inject it. It puts “dying to be thin” into context. It’s just so utterly tragic anyone would take these huge risks with their lives to be thin.

because it’s ok. Till the one day it’s not.

Independent prescribers registered nurses, Pharmacists or other qualified Health Care Professionals who have done additional training.

Is this likely - or is she telling you more lies do you think?

If she really is an independent prescriber (unlikely) then she needs to be reported to the professional regulatory bodies, either the NMC or GPhC and to the MHRA for the supply of a fake medicine.

She’s a danger to public health.

Wildgoat · 12/09/2025 17:24

the compound produc is even illegal in the USA, due to concern over the safety and impurities, I’m struggling to believe people are compounding themselves and injecting it,

if you look at all the deaths on these drugs, not one of them is due to legit use of the legit drug, it’s all due to this black market crap.

FlexiSadie · 12/09/2025 17:28

Those that offer botox, etc, are usually registered nurses, aren't they? If this is the case in her case, she needs to be reported to the NMC.

Hallywally · 12/09/2025 17:28

God are you thick? It’s akin to injecting yourself with heroin bought from a drug dealer. 🙄

Motnight · 12/09/2025 17:32

Every day is a school day on Mumsnet.

Miraclesforme · 12/09/2025 17:33

EDIT I see you binned it which is at least one sensible thing you've done

Can you show me where to find these stats? As far as I’m aware no one has died as a direct result of Tirzepatide?

Not necessarily, you don’t need to have anything in the way of medical qualifications to offer injectable procedures.

I could do a course for a grand from an aesthetics company and start injecting people.

tgif1 · 12/09/2025 21:18

Also “all the deaths”… which deaths are you referring to exactly and how do you know if they weee taking Eli Lily licensed version or the compounded version?

it was very much made my American pharmacies and the FDA did allow it due to shortages at Eli Lily so I’m sorry but you must be able to get the compound Tirzepatide?

If you inject prescription only medicines they must first be prescribed by someone who is legally authorised to prescribe, and who is legally authorised to purchase prescription only medicines.
