We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

They were very nice, but talking about suspending my post grad was hard and they told me they could have taken me to stage 3 at this point but are choosing not to and to go through the stages. Everything just feels very frustrating and I’m so fed up of being in constant gnawing pain.

FurForksSake · 04/09/2025 13:41

@wohmumthat’s good to know, I agree getting used to being hungry is important. I’ve started reading the maintenance threads and discussions about food noise and hunger and people saying the hunger and noise isn’t actually worse than before, it’s just that you aren’t used to it.

how are you finding ordering at that interval? I think oushk is likely to be fine with it for me to go to ordering with slightly bigger gaps.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2025 14:35

I think we are all getting used hungry but knowing it’s ok to feel it esp if a meal is soon

I am struggling to eat -1800 some days and why having a chocolate bar to boost c

please don’t hate my auggies 😘

You did really well and I don't blame you for crying as you are in pain all the time. Is it a public or private sector job if you don't mind me asking? Things are so tough these days at work. Sending big hugs and well done for resisting comfort eating.

My injections haven't worked yet and I am on max codeine and paracetamol. The pain is so draining

FurForksSake · 04/09/2025 18:46

I work for the blinking NHS 😆

GP is making me take cocodamol max for two weeks before she’ll go up the pain relief ladder and no oramorph for that time so I can see if it’s helping. I already know it won’t.

sorry you haven’t had relief, how was Yorkshire?

20bloodypounds · 04/09/2025 21:16

@wohmum I'm with you as September starter but I've been with this lot for so long that I almost think I started in August!

I agree with the whole, accepting and getting used to feelings of hunger. It's new thing for many of us. Today I was meeting a friend for lunch. I knew it would be more calorific than usual so I thought that's fine I'll skip breakfast. I had chores to do in the city beforehand, but on my way there I realised that our lunch booking was quite a late one, and that I was feeling a bit hungry and I started to panic a little, and was planning where I'd get a mid morning snack... Then I got busy with my chores (which involved some very distracting jewellery shopping). Next thing I knew, I was meeting my pal and it was 15 minutes till lunch. Yes I was a bit hungry, but sort of delightfully so, the kind where I knew that whatever I chose from the menu would be appreciated.

FurForksSake · 04/09/2025 21:47

I went to eat a giant bowl of fat free Greek yoghurt with a bit of golden syrup and granola, I don’t think I even managed half. I still sometimes forget that I just can’t eat like that.

I completely know what you mean about that delightful hunger, it’s a good feeling!

Weepixie · 04/09/2025 22:53

Re the feeling of hunger. Are people only feeling it now they’re almost off Mounjaro. Or have you felt it over the last year and have practiced it so that when you were off Mounjaro you were used to it to quite an extent? For me it’s the latter, I’ve never really had the suppression people talk about and Ive been hungry almost everyday over the last year, but its been a good hunger. And I know I’ll feel hungrier once I start reducing my dose and that’s ok, but how are people coping with perhaps having to feel hunger cold turkey so to speak.

Weepixie · 04/09/2025 22:55

@20bloodypounds I love it when people refer to going into the city. It just sounds so swanky and exciting, also very grown up.

20bloodypounds · 04/09/2025 23:12

@Weepixie I am indeed swanky, and so very grown up Grin Well, so I should be at this age!

But funnily, I had a couple of days while on holiday in Italy (complicated family reasons when dh had to return home for very elderly parent crisis). And, OMG I felt soooo grown up. Hey, look at me, holidaying in Italy on my own! Eating out in little restaurants - on my own, a drink in a bar, a boat trip to an island. I absolutely loved it!

FurForksSake · 04/09/2025 23:12

I don’t think my tummy has rumbled more than half a dozen times in a year and I’ve never felt starving or that the meal I was desperate for.

Oh my God! I’m a solo traveller, and I’ve been to Italy more times than I can count. I love it! Where were you?

I’m never happier than when I’m in a museum, a gallery, or clambering over ancient ruins. (Not that you can clamber over them if you’re a well-behaved traveller—and being the goody two-shoes I am…)

In fact, I’m taking six weeks out of my life next year to fly to Italy, then from there I’ll inter-rail to the UK, going wherever I please before seeing Scotland properly. Mind you, I’m saying six weeks, but my children will be surprised if I don’t come home after four—I’m worried six might be too long for my boy. I haven’t done anything like that before. I’m living my life in reverse, in a way. Married just before I turned nineteen, then up to my elbows in nappies a year later, with three children in four years. Never did a gap year or anything like that, but now I travel solo (for the most part), and I love it.

Have you been to Switzerland? I usually jump on trains between Switzerland, Germany, and Italy—it’s beautiful. That’s what made me decide to go interrailing: stopping off wherever I fancy for a few days before moving on to the next place.

Swanky? I’m a work in progress.

Grown-up? Most days. I think.

Oh—one last thing. When my family’s in the UK, the City’s our favourite place to be. We can walk the streets for miles and never get bored.

I hope the family crisis is over, and that everyone’s well.

PoemsForTea · 05/09/2025 05:19

@WeepixieThe most stunning train journey I ever took was Innsbruck to Verona. I'd love to go again!

I haven’t felt starving or desperate but I have felt hungry and as daft as this may sound Id even practice being hungry. As long as I got my calories in for good nutrition I’d deliberately delay meals so I could practice being hungry/waiting a whole. I think it’s why I believe I’m in a good place for coming off Mounjaro even though my hunger will be more obvious at times - I’ve practiced it. I’ve also the last year saying no, so no celebrating occasions with excess food or any sweets, no foods that weren’t good choices. I knew I had to get used to saying no from day 1 or my future would probably be on shaky ground.

Edited

I have definitely felt properly hungry. MJ has enabled me to stay with the hunger a lot and not just find something to eat. But even on 15 mg I am at times very hungry. Not all the time by any means. And other times I could happily hardly eat for 24 hours.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2025 08:26

I def feel hunger but can control it or maybe mj does as know I don’t need to snack and can eat hour later

so have a drink

as you know I’ve never really felt suppression and can eat meals and crisps and cock bars 😂

but I do know I am eating less obviously as when I did the all you can eat /beefeater/toby I put a much smaller portion on the plate

@Weepixiethat travelling sounds bloody marvellous! Will you do some of the north coast 500 in Scotland? I feel from your username you may be au fait with the summer bugs!

I’ve lost 1lb! It’s so slow at the moment, less than 1/2 a pound a week. My app tells me I’ve lost 12lbs in 3 months, which is fine actually but it’s no weight loss and then a jump then no weight loss again. I’m 8st8 now, so 1lb off my 8st7 target, but I might keep going for a little bit to get a little closer to 8st before trying to maintain. In the back of my head I feel like when I come off Mj I’m likely to rebound 1/2 a stone so a number where I’d still be under 9st with a rebound is good for me. I just need to keep above Hira’s cut off bmi or learn to carry weights between my bottom cheeks in case they want a weight verification call 🤭🤭🤭

Azuresky68 · 05/09/2025 12:18

@FurForksSake shocking these days re NHS lack of support and change of conditions for staff..so sorry this has happened to you.
No relief for me from injections and taking codeine daily on top of paracetamol. Seeing my doctor soon to dicuss next steps. The pain is constant but at least I can get about and we do a lot of walking.
Our little break was lovely thanks. I live in Yorkshire but not near the coast.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2025 12:26

WWJ and I’ve gained a lb which I wanted. Ideally same next week and then be happy

who would have thought I would lose too much weight ha ha

FurForksSake · 05/09/2025 12:48

@Azuresky68we went on holiday near Selby in May, a nice little village. We had a lovely time. I really did want to get out to the coast and do the steam train, but alas not the time. We’d definitely holiday in Yorkshire again. We love Northumberland and Scotland (big place 😆) but Yorkshire has so much variety and much more accessible from where we are based (northern Home Counties).

@Blondeshavemorefunwoohoo in the result you wanted!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2025 13:37

Well done for losing @FurForksSake

12lbs in 3mths isn’t too bad. Slightly under a lb a week

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 05/09/2025 13:40

Yes, I’m glad I track on lose it as it has a helpful graph and I can look at week/month etc really easily. It helps me to keep going when it’s taken three weeks to lose a pound (or longer) because I can see the trend is down and not at an awful speed. I don’t think I’ll have another whoosh now as my weight is too low. But that is how my weight loss goes, stall whoosh, stall whoosh. I don’t think I realised when I was trying to lose weight previously, I think I’d give up during stalls and then go in reverse.

The weights held in your buttocks could be excellent excercise for those of us with pancake bums!

I love Yorkshire - so much variety - hills, coast, city. But I feel like that about a lot of UK, we've had holidays in Norfolk, Wales, Staffordshire and Hereford. Next week we're going to Ireland. And there are places like Somerset and Dorset and Kent that I've not been to, except on work trips. And Scotland is just ace (some parts of it) not biased
