We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

I had a look at the opening post in that thread and my first question was - how quickly did you lose the weight, how fast did you increase the dose?

Is the poster anyone to looking at for advice on Mounjaro? No. In fact I think they’re the perfect example of the kind of user not to look for advice from unless it’s of the ‘do not do what I did variety’.

Id be embarrassed to tell anyone about my Mounjaro journey if I’d done it the way they did.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2025 22:44

15.5a to 8

I agree @weepixie

3w on the first two doses so not taking it correctly

interesting

Apparently you can. MJ is a GLP2 medication. Ozempic and Wegovy are GLP1, the same medication but licensed for different reasons. Ozempic for diabetics and wegovy for weight loss. It is only recommended for 2 years. MJ on the other hand does not. You can stay on it long term.

I understand not everyone can do this so please don’t take it as a negative if you have any reasons why you can’t (health etc.) but I’m a 37y/o without any actual barriers to fitness and when I started MJ I wanted it to be a life change not just a quick fix. So I upped my exercise at the same time. (Like I say as I was gratefully able to) and I’m so proud that today I checked my health score on my garmin watch. A year and a half ago when I started making changes to my activity levels (pre MJ) I was at a score of 27. A really low score below the lowest level and it gave me a health age about 20 years above my actual age. I was always such an active person and this floored me. I’d lost myself. In the last year and half I’ve gone out and hiked in all weathers and today I came in at a score of 45 firmly into the excellent range placing me 17 years BELOW my age. And to be honest I feel it. I fly up hills, my heart rate still maintaining at a good level, not even out of breath. Sorry if this seems boasty but I’m just so proud of what I’ve achieved. And I know you guys are where we can all share our achievements!

pic of me and mum today. Dragged her along a 5 mile hike today and I hope at 64 I can keep up as well as she did. She’s 💪

im so proud of the me and year and half ago, carrying over 5 stone to much weight, obese but pushing up those hills, blowing out her arse but keeping on going!

@owlybooi have actual tears in my eyes reading that! I am so proud of you, what an impressive achievement!!!

FlappingMadly · 07/09/2025 23:45

Epic @owlyboo ! That is such an impressive achievement! And well done to your mum! It's not boasty at all but a lovely celebration and recognition of how hard you've worked.
Which Garmin watch do you have?

FurForksSake · 07/09/2025 23:45

As for the link I shared, I feel desperately sorry for her, being permanently disabled is awful. I had no idea losing weight fast could cause such side effects (though @Blondeshavemorefuntv queen, I’m sure there was a storyline in casualty or similar where someone lost weight as she’d crash dieted and they said it had weakened her bones? Can’t quite remember, but it stuck with me).

it did also become clear from reading a couple of posts that she went up the doses very fast and was in a very large deficit and losing maybe 4lbs a week on average. It sounds like she’s very much had a lightbulb moment in her maintenance though in some ways as she’s using the gym and eating very well she says.

@FurForksSakethank you. I have the upmost support and sympathy for you guys that have physical things going on so was a little apprehensive to post so to have that support is just so lovely.

but I think as I don’t it makes it all the more important to go out and reach those goals. Do it whilst you can.

thank you for the support! ❤️

owlyboo · 07/09/2025 23:49

Thanks @FlappingMadlyim so glad it didn’t come across badly. Being British, being proud of yourself makes me feel a
bit uneasy! Thanks for the support. I’m not sure what model it is. I’ve had it a good few years. Definitely need an upgrade soon!

owlyboo · 07/09/2025 23:54

And yes @FlappingMadlyshes a real inspiration she has maintained her weight and health so well for many many years so definitely one to look up to. And also she’s my rock ❤️ I lost her a lot whilst I was married. I barely saw her. (My fault) She was always there supporting me but I was consumed in an awful marriage. As soon as I reached out, she was there, my biggest supporter and cheerleader and now I live close to my parents and she’s literally such a support I don’t know how I’d have done the last two and a half years without her. So lucky.

Motnight · 08/09/2025 05:59

What lovely posts @owlyboo both about your achievements and your mum.

Weepixie · 08/09/2025 06:01

@owlyboo - you have every right to be so proud of your achievements. We’re so proud of you as well.

And Here’s to you and your mum. Every girl needs her mum no matter how old she is and I’m so pleased you’ve got each other. ❤️

Weepixie · 08/09/2025 06:39

I’ve just had the mother of all non scale victories.

My shoes started slipping off me last week, I was convinced they never would, so I got my 3 very big containers of shoes that were too small for me when they arrived her out of the cupboard.

I NOW HAVE 9 PAIRS OF NEW SHOES TO WEAR.

And yes, shoes are my thing. I have a UK sized 10 feet and have to buy from specialist shoe shops but even if I had sized 8 feet shoes would still be my thing and have been since I was girl.

I don’t rem that @FurForksSake but the op on other thread to me is severely underweight. Her bmi is 18.7 the lowest before being underweight

@owlyboothat’s so impressive. Well done. Be proud. Blow that horn and ring that bell !!!

always post. We are a supportive group and if someone isn’t supportive. I will sit on them.

obv being almost 7s lighter that’s not such a threat anymore 😂 but you get my meaning 😘😘

I wish my mum was about. She died 11yrs ago so never even knew/met mini blondes which j find really hard

fab NSV @Weepixie- 10 must be hard to buy for - I wish I couu hi I’d wear heels but I have no balance and wear either flats or small wedges so small not really a wedge 😂

I had to offer to break someone’s legs for a friend today because I couldn’t jump on the person and squash the life out of them anymore.

So difficult 🙈. But very easy in the states and quite a bit of Europe which is why when I do my European inter rail trip next year it will also be planned around shoe shops.

I can’t see me ever going back to the Stares but I’ll never forget going I to Nordstrom in Seattle and leaving with 7 pairs of shoes. The assistant took ages coming back from the stock room and I thought she must be having trouble finding me something - only to then see her and a colleague coming towards me piled high with boxes. I’ll never forget that day.

18.7 does seem very low. I’m constantly amazed how light some people are and on another thread someone shared their weight and thought it was normal and it was 8kg less than me and I thought my weight was quite low. I’m having to try very hard to think sensibly about these numbers as it can make me feel like I need to go down further than I intended. I was also quite envious that they were able to go to the gym every morning before work, I have kids to wrangle and when I’m not on sick leave I start at 8am which feels so early.

today I am feeling a bit regretful about my meal out, I have terrible bubbly guts and some sulphur burps! Not had that for a long time. I had some salad from the salad cart, then a chicken burger (no bun and no chips) and then some of my ice cream. Probably 1500 calories at least, which is fine for a total one off and my only real meal yesterday. I think it was the spicy sauce with the chicken that’s affected me. I’ll take some peppermint capsules if it doesn’t settle.

@Weepixiethats amazing! What a treat getting access to those again.

20bloodypounds · 08/09/2025 09:53

@owlyboo fantastic! This is why I get so annoyed when people talk about WLI as 'cheating'. You have put in all the hard work to change your life, and you're keeping going.

@Weepixie It turned autumnal here and I put on a pair of boots, only to discover that they were flapping around my now thin calves, and my favourite ankle boots (that I got re-soled and heeled last winter) are falling off my feet. That's going to be an expensive shopping trip!

@FurForksSake I take omeprazole for sulphur burps - works so much better than gaviscon.

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 10:14

Even the very idea of gavjn scone makes me feel nauseous.

I take lansoprazole daily for my naproxen, I ran out of both and it’s just been delivered so I’m hoping it will help. It’s not a side effect I’ve missed!

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 10:15

@20bloodypounds can you get an insole to give you a little room to buy at your leisure?

FlappingMadly · 08/09/2025 11:05

Lovely NSV. Enjoy those shoes! I am size 4 😂. They are just lumps at the end of the my legs.

Yes the rapid weight was shocking and good for her for highlighting the down side. I would not consider those long term side effects worth it and am baffled why at some point you wouldn't think losing those weekly massive amounts isn't healthy. I've seen crazy calories mentioned on these pages. How can you make that sustainable anyway when you stop.

Weepixie · 08/09/2025 11:49

On a boat trip with most of my grandchildren and children yesterday. We had a lovely time but I should have spent less time posing on the boat and admiring my now rather lovely legs than I did replenishing sunscreen because today from just above the knees I look as if I stood in red paint.

A few pics of me and two wee ones - we stayed to snorkel at what’s called locally ‘the turtles dining room table’ whilst everyone else went of towards the rocks to look for things I don’t even want to think exist.
