lol! It does depend which supplement you use, have a google about different magnesium compounds in supplements. This link is quite good for info

Thanks for that @AsteriaBuffy, I will have a read when I get home tonight.

SW 81.2
CW 75.4
Lost 7.1% of my starting weight
W6D2, still on 2.5mg still getting hunger suppression but less so, pn d6 and d7 my appetite was back at 40%, and I am using those days as a learning lessons for when I stop I will be having to cope with hunger on a daily basis. No snacking or eating too much even on those days. Weight loss slightly slowed down to around 1lb/week. Sugar levels are stabilising but I think the earliest I will have my bloods done will be on the 3 month mark early November.
My sleep is affected, I sleep through the night but falling asleep very late most days.
Good luck to all of us losers, days are getting shorter and the heating qill be on soon, I already am getting cold in the evenings. I have HR meds review on Tuesday. I expect that I will get higher dose of progesterone. GP asked me to come along and discuss my meds.

Wellfuckme · 05/09/2025 16:03

Thanks everyone for your replies. Pretty much what I listed has been what I am eating. Missed more dinners than I've eaten. Drinking lots of water during the day. Think I'm just not eating enough. Going to try to meal plan over the weekend if I get time.

SW 18st 8lb, CW 18st 4lb, no real goal weight in mind as yet. 4th dose taken this morning at 2.5mg. Next pen is 5mg.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 05/09/2025 17:03

Sounds like it @Wellfuckme. I’m forcing myself to hit 1300 calories or as near as most days and prioritising protein and fibre. I use a protein drink to get me started as struggled to hit the goals otherwise and I’m seeing consistent losses each week but long term I would be happy with 1lb a week!

Haribosweets · 05/09/2025 19:07

I'm going for my 1st meal tonight since starting! Bit worried but will choose as best as I can. I have only had 400 today (breakfast) to make up for the meal! No starters or pudding and driving so no alcohol.

Magnesium makes me 💩💩💩 so much I can't take it!

Hellenicnim · 05/09/2025 20:01

Also @Wellfuckme while lots of people are having a good response to 2.5mg and staying on it, it was intended as a loading dose and some people don't start to see results until 5mg which is the first technically therapeutic dose and while lots of people have big losses at first 1lb a week is really what most people will achieve long term for healthy weight loss.

4lbs in 4 weeks.....be proud of that ....it could have gone the other way 👏 Don't compare yourself to others as we are all different

I'm currently 15 stone 4lbs. I am on week 3 day 5 and have lost 10lbs so far, eating around 1600 calories a day. I aim for at least 100g protein a day and 20-25g fibre. I drink around 2.5ltres of water (easier on work days) I find I am eating 3 meals a day but not snacking which was my downfall before.

What i ate yesterday (work day):

Breakfast: 2 weetabix, 2 teapoons chia seeds, 125ml semi skimmed milk, 15 raspberries

lunch: Lidl chicken satay with chilli dip, lidl sushi, Lidl protein shot

mid afternoon: 25g protein yoghurt

dinner: whatever the family are having but smaller portion ( i do weigh everthing so I can log on Nutracheck) rocket ice lolly

Find out your TDEE and try stick within calorie deficit. The weird thing for me is I have pretty much gone off fruit apart from raspberries, I ate lots of fruit before.

Tonight I have had a Chinese (half of the container as couldn't eat more) on my second glass of wine but thats all I will be having as I'm happy with that. Dont be afraid to have a bit more calories one day, it won't hurt your progress. You need this to be a lifetime change to the way you eat so you can maintain your loss.

Have a listen Munro Method podcasts on Spotify.

Wishing you all the best with your journey, you maybe just need to switch things up a bit 😊

Does anyone know how to get a MedExpress referal code? I need to order my next pen from there because I left for a 2 week holiday forgetting to pick up my pen from asda pharmacy 😭

JustPickleRick · 06/09/2025 08:48

Morning,
I did my second jab last night and weighed this morning. I'm quite shocked!

SW: 12 st 9
CW: 11 st 10
I'm 13 lbs down 🤯

BUT I do remember that my starting weight was taken in the evening and wearing clothes so there's a difference from me taking it in the morning today. Still amazed to see i've lost something though 🥳 I stuck to just under 1200 calories each day (just below my TDEE) , 3 litres a day and hit about 92g of protein which was around where is recommended for my height. Can't quite believe it 😅

I've used Medexpress, here's a code for £40 off if that's helpful to you

Hello everyone well done you are doing great and so positive we can support each other on this journey! Just back from a few days away, did feel like my trip was a bit marred as did not enjoy any of the meals out we had due to just going up to 5mg and feeling queasy if ate anything at all rich/creamy! Food at home is fine but restaurant food I guess has more butter etc in it. Anyway have just got home and been able to weigh myself, first time ever have lost weight on holiday!! 5 weeks in I have lost 6.2kg since starting (very nearly a stone), I’ve lost 3 inches off bust, 2 inches off waist and 4 inches off hips.

SW 102kg
CW 95.8kg
TW 90kg

Tinkerbell2209 · 06/09/2025 10:08

Hello everyone. You are all doing so well, and I am finding it really helpful to see that my experience mirrors many of yours, makes me feel like I am on the right track.

W5D2
SW 20 st 6 lbs
CW 19 st 6 lbs

So that is a nice round stone and I am pleased with that. Have had no real side effects other than a bit of nausea on and off but I've realised that means I'm not drinking enough. Haven't been tracking calories but really just eating a lot less and much more veg. Have stayed on 2.5 mg for 2nd month but am thinking will go up to 5 mg for the next pen. Suppression is still good but I am thinking about eating more. Have had the odd small sweet treat but think that is more about my body telling me I need a bit of sugar. Constipation had been a bit of an issue!

Not decided on TW yet, it's very tempting to set it low but I don't want to give myself an unrealistic target. Have been using the weight loss tracker spreadsheet that was kindly linked on another thread - I am a bit geeky!

SharpOpalDuck · 06/09/2025 11:09

Good morning, I have weighed in for the second time and am down 8lbs in total (5 first week and now 3).
I have decided to stay on 2.5mg for my next one to see how I get on. I'm not particularly snacking but really enjoy my 3 meals a day so I'm quite happy with that. I do find I'm quite fatigued the day after my dose. I'm tracking calories, definitely eating less than I was. I'll be happy with slow and steady as long as it's the last time I have to lose weight!

MrsSuu · 06/09/2025 11:26

Happy Saturday!

W4D1 - For the first time yesterday I felt hungry.
SW - 156lb
CW - 141.8
GW - 126lb
14lb off so far so a stone in three weeks 👏🏻

I’m feel so much better and going to remain on 2.5 for now.

Well done everyone 🥰

NeedSleepNow · 06/09/2025 14:49

I'm on wk 7 d 1 today. I weighed myself this morning and was 12st 12lb, but now my scales are saying 13st 12!

I have no idea whether they were wrong before and I'm actually a stone heavier than I thought or if they've now just gone wrong and I am lighter than they are now reading.

I thought my starting weight was 14st and that I had lost 16 lb since starting the jabs but now I don't know what to think 😂

I've just borrowed a friend's scales to check my weight and my scales were originally undereading by about a stone
😔
I thought I needed to lose 3.5 stone to get to my target weight but it was actually 4.5 stone, I could cry. My correct weights are now:
SW: 15 stone
CW : 13 st 12lb
TW: 10st 7lb

LnicMJ · 06/09/2025 17:46

@NeedSleepNowoh no! At least you have the right figures now, and that you've made a solid start on the way to your goal! Keep your chin up, we're all in this together, and we'll be really pleased with the progress in a few months and that we made a decision to put ourselves first x

I could cry when I realized how much I have to lose too, half a stone more than I thought. Because I haven't weighted myself in months and gained half a stone in that time, which is the heaviest I've ever been. I almost had a mental breakdown.

I also took a before pic today because I realized I forgot to do that when I started, and I look like a fridge with a bunch of lumps. Ugh.

Hugs. Don’t get hung on the scale error, focus on how much you already lost.

i am sure you can feel a difference in some clothes and if you have any photos look closely at your face, i see a huge difference even with less than a stone lost.

Oh gosh, I feel your pain that must’ve been so horrendous to find out the mistake! BUT you have also lost more than a stone in 7 weeks which is pretty flipping impressive! You must be doing something right so I think you should be proud of that!

NeedSleepNow · 06/09/2025 18:48

Thank you for the positive messages 😊. I knew I was around 14.5 stone a few months before starting and thought I'd done really well to lose half a stone on my own when I weighed myself when ordering my first pen. In reality I had actually put on weight.

I will use this to try to focus my efforts a bit more as I desperately want to lose the weight. I need to order my next pen soon as I have just one dose left, plus the golden dose. I'm going to move up a dose to 5mg this time I think

TheArtfulCrow · 07/09/2025 07:21

W6 D1 for me. After gaining 1lb last week, Ive lost 3lbs this week 🥳

SW: 14st 10lbs
CW: 13st 9lbs
GW: 10st

I stuck to the 2.5mg this month but have very little suppression so I'm gonna be using a lot of willpower the next few weeks.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 07/09/2025 08:03

Morning everyone

W5D1 and I have lost another 3lbs, so 13lbs in total over the last 4 weeks..very happy with that. Had a couple of days this week where the suppression wasn’t as strong, but will stay on 2.5 for the next pen and see how it goes.

It’s such a good feeling seeing 13 on the scales instead of 14, it’s been YEARS since I was under 14 stone and I feel so happy. Obviously there’s some way to go but I’m feeling really positive.

Going to use the golden dose later, does anyone have any tips? Do you just use it as normal with a bit of brute force? Thanks

That’s so good! With the golden dose I managed it with a bit of twisting harder. There’s kind of nothing to lose really because if it goes wrong then you can always transfer the capped and unused needle over.

JoRaRaRa · 07/09/2025 08:33

Well done on the weight loss @MrJollyLivesNextDoor
I can't really help you with tips on the GD as mine ended up all over the living room 🙈 you use brute force to get the pen to the 1, and then it's gentle pressure to then inject it. I thought you did it with heavy pressure to I put a bit of aggression into it and broke the pen more. Took it out of my stomach to inspect, bashed the end to get it to move and it all went shooting out. Don't do that! I've bought some syringe needles to do it next time, but I already feel like I'm smacking up with the pens, so the syringe needles are really off putting. Hope you have better luck with it then I did.
