oh well, spoke to the pharmacy. She said I did the right thing by discarding back to 0 and not inserting the same needle but I may just not half the full effects this week and to do full dose next week.
what a silly cookie I am, I will be making sure I’m supervised next week😂 it may just take more will power if I don’t have as much suppression this week x

Well done everyone on continued progress! Have moved up to 5mg today on Week 5, and injected early as we're going away today. I've got past my plateau and have lost 6kg overall, really pleased with that and hope I can keep going and reach my target weight.
SW: 102kg
CW: 96kg
TW: 90kg

Well done on your weight loss. I’ll be interested to know if you experience bad side effects on moving to 5. I chickened out after reading about bad side effects and have stayed on 2.5. Just taken my 6th jab. I’m tempted to try 3.75 next week (I’m using a 5mg pen as that was all I had) or possibly go to 5.

That’s great, not long to go now until your goal🎉x

I ordered a 5mg pen in a panic before the prices went up. I’m still waiting on it being approved. I was unsure about going for a 2.5mg or a 5mg one but I went for the 5mg.

Hellenicnim · 01/09/2025 12:23

I started on 5mg on friday and felt on saturday the way i did after my first 2.5. Tired and very thirsty. Yesterday I had the first gastro side effects (I was sick) but I did also have my first takeaway so not sure if it is the 5mg or the grease (I did have chicken in black bean which i thought was a sensible choice but did have a couple of spring rolls which are fried?) but I feel fine today so maybe it was the food or a brief side effect either way.

Thanks for the new thread MrJolly :)

Losing is a still bit glacial, barely a pound a week overall (5 weeks in on Weds). Def need to up the exercise before Weds weigh in!

Dithering about which pen to use next, I've got a 2.5 and a 5 unopened. I'd like to try 3.75 and see how that goes before moving to 5. So I guess I could use either pen, 6 doses from the 5mg pen, or 4 doses from the 2.5mg pen. Hmm. Also, they're from different suppliers so need to account for usage before ordering next one, and decide which supplier to stick with. head explodes

Hi all! Glad to see everyone is doing really well and no side effects! I’ve had a bit of a funny tummy 3 times this week.. but that’s not hugely unheard of for me. Each within 20 mins of eating an evening meal!
Weighed a day early with all the back to school stuff this week. Will still jab tomorrow.
So Wk5 tomorrow
SW 12st 11
CW 11st 7
GW 10st 7/ 11st

Variable goal, feeling good!

Hi all, thanks for the new thread. How are we all feeling a month on? I’m due jab 4 tomorrow - no idea on my cw as been away this past week. Will find out in the morning I guess…

I’m going to move up to a 5mg pen next, already waiting in the fridge as I ordered as soon as the delays over the price news came to light (I got into a panic that it wouldn’t be approved in time and would arrive while we were away!) I’m debating using the golden dose but also keen to move up to 5mg as I’m not experiencing the same suppression this week as I did the past two weeks. Feels like a waste to not use all the first pen though! I wonder if I could combine the golden dose of 2.5mg with a half dose from the 5mg pen?

mounjaring · 01/09/2025 17:52

Well I went on holiday, and came back 2lbs lighter than I started... now that's never happened before

HighlandCauliflower · 01/09/2025 17:54

W3,D3 been feeling a little sick, yesterday afternoon and this afternoon, smells have been making me feel nauseous
Up to yesterday I'd been feeling good with only a dry throat and thirst the day after injecting as side effects. Hoping this is going to be short lived.

I did, I moved up to 3.75 on a 5 pen so used my last 2.5 by extracting with a needle then 15 clicks of a new pen to make 3.75.
If you use the ‘golden dose’ and 30 clicks you get 5 in total.

I had no intention of using the extra in the pen when I began but price increases made it far more appealing.

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 01/09/2025 18:43

Usually the golden dose is more than the 2.5 anyway so you may get something like 3.2 out of it instead which I think is a sensible way of moving up to 5.

LnicMJ · 01/09/2025 18:52

Second weigh in for me this morning -2.25lbs so 8lbs over 2 weeks. I feel both pleased and disappointed which sounds strange... pleased because it's a good loss, but disappointed as I think it would be higher had I not been away for the weekend where I did manage to have some wine lol, and know I could of been stricter with myself. I did have a good time though so I just need to manage the balance and expectation in my head with both living and losing weight. Its like I want to fast forward 3 months and click my fingers like all the ticktocks 🤦‍♀️
Nothing planned this week so I'll see if that makes a difference, plus just finished 'lady time' which could of affected weight... who knows. Still not bad and it's over half a stone gone in 2 weeks which I wouldn't of managed without the help of MJ!
Have a good week all!!! X

JoRaRaRa · 01/09/2025 19:26

@LnicMJ 8lbs is really good for 2 weeks, that's my total for the month 🤣😭 and it's not like I don't have a lot to lose. Get plenty of water down you and I'm sure you'll flush out the wine you drank 😊
I had a few malibu and diet cokes on Saturday night, although I think my husband forgot to ask for diet coke a few times. I hate drinking calories if it's not wine or lattes 🙈

twilightcafe · 01/09/2025 20:00

W2 D1 here.
Stepped on the scales after a week.
Appetite suppressed from Day 1. No interest in overeating.

I appear to have lost just one measly pound.

No intention of giving up - but I was expecting a higher loss than that 😒

LnicMJ · 01/09/2025 20:03

@JoRaRaRaah thank you... at least it's heading in the right direction! Im sure we will all get there eventually, even if the odd glass of something slows us down... 🤪 back on the water so fingers crossed for next week!!! X

I’m the exact same length of journey. W2D1.

are you a weekly weigher? My GP told me a few years ago, weighing daily to track and see that your body fluctuates with water, salt etc. it was the best thing I did as I’d weigh once weekly and I’d gained 2lbs, but weigh the next day and I was 3lbs lighter depending on water etc.

x

LnicMJ · 01/09/2025 20:07

@twilightcafe It can feel disheartening, but it's still a loss! It just doesn't seem fair that when we just look at a cake we're +3lbs, and then when we behave it seems slow and steady! 🤦‍♀️ Fingers crossed for a good week this week 🤞

NeedSleepNow · 01/09/2025 20:08

W6 D3 for me today. I'm definitely not getting the level of suppression that I was a few weeks ago so I think I will go up a dose to 5 when I order my next pen. I'm very nervous about side effects though so maybe I'll try 3.75 for a few weeks before going up to 5.

I did this. I used a needle to get it out so knew I had 0.8 ml, so which is 3.3mg so went up a little even if not quite 3.75.

Yes, as long as it's going down, it's going the right way 😁 We have to be able to let our hair down occasionally 💁🏻‍♀️

Pumpernickelbrakes · 01/09/2025 21:11

hello, good to see everyone going strong. I will take my 4th dose of 2.5mg tomorrow. I seem to have lost around 9lb since starting on 12th August. Only a pound down this week, but I ran my weekly food/hydration/sleep and exercise through Grok AI and it looks like the fact that I am lifting weights 4 - 5 times a week and taking creatine is causing some muscle growth/inflammation, and water weight - this is likely to subside by late September as creatine typically causes a temporary 3-4lb water weight increase.

I am looking forward to that whoosh! fingers crossed 🤞

Am really excited that I am getting stronger and my lying chest press is now using 25lb dumbbells - I was on 15Lb a month ago. Bicep curls up to 15Lb dumbbells - was 10lb. Chest flies 20lb dumbbells - was 12lb
Can feel my body composition changing. I have hope that I might get back to being as strong as I was in my 40s by next year.

Most amazing thing is how easy it is to not drink. At the weekend I made a lemon vodka/elderflower tonic cocktail, had three sips, it tasted wrong - toxic even - and I poured it away.

Appetite suppression is minimal especially at the end of the week, but that is ok. Only want to eat healthy food. Do not want to drink wine, or anything sugary.

Constipation minimal. Am going to stay on 2.5mg for one more month.

Good luck everyone

Booksandcheese · 01/09/2025 23:25

Took my 5th dose this morning, have moved up to 5. 13lb lost so far.

I don't have any side effects unless I eat something fatty, that makes me sick so no naughty treats at the weekend anymore for me which is a bit of a shame as I think a little of what you fancy at the weekend is healthy. But, 13lb down is amazing in 4 weeks so I will just have to live with it until I hit my goal weight!

Lifeisforliving2025 · 01/09/2025 23:39

Took my 4th jab on Sunday - just half a pound off for me this week probably due to extra calories on Friday due to alcohol. Total loss since 11th August is 7.7lbs.

Still aiming for around 1600 calories a day. Focus on protein and fibre. Felt like I wanted to snack the last week (period week) so really needing to use willpower. My eating is very focused and easy on work days but find at weekends I am not quite as focused on the fibre goal.

Will use golden dose this Sunday then start Wegovy the following week.

Well done to everyone on their losses 📉
