End of week 5 weigh in but on W6 D5 as switched days.

SW 15st 12 (having lost 7lbs pre jab)
CW 14st 11.75 (loss of 14.25lbs)
GW Under 11st

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 02/09/2025 08:25

Ive got two days until my weigh in day but i got on this morning to check and my scales have gone haywire. Ive only lost 1/4lb this week so far so feeling a bit sad about that but worse is my fats gone up, muscle and water right down! Grrr. I drink so much water so know that’s not the problem. Need to get back in the gym once the kids go back!

I know what you mean - my weigh in day is tomorrow (5 weeks) and I sneakily stepped on the scales this morning and my weight is the same as last week! I definitely need to drink more water and do more exercise.

Well done on your weight loss. I’ll be interested to know if you experience bad side effects on moving to 5. I chickened out after reading about bad side effects and have stayed on 2.5. Just taken my 6th jab. I’m tempted to try 3.75 next week (I’m using a 5mg pen as that was all I had) or possibly go to 5.

Hello I haven’t especially noticed increased side effects on 5mg. I felt tired yesterday and my joints ached but I got that on first day of 2.5mg jabs as well. I haven’t had increased indigestion, nausea or anything like that. Not hungry whatsoever so just have to remember to eat. Didn’t eat breakfast til 10.30 today, pre MJ I would always be starving the moment I woke up. Same when I used to get in from work, I always used to feel “hangry” and had to eat a snack before dinner. All that has just gone. Not sure if was right idea to move up to 5mg or not really, if I don’t like it I could stop for 2 weeks and restart on 2.5mg. I read in a lot of places that 5mg was maintenance dose so I guess that why I went up. I have 2 x 5mg pens bought when price increases announced, so will be on that dose for next 2 months any road. Good luck everyone on your journey, everyone is doing really well ❤️

I'm on W3, D1. I lost 5.5 lbs the first week, and 1.5 lbs when I weighed myself this morning, after the second week. I do currently have my period though.

SW 15st, 11.5 lbs
CW 15 st, 4.5 lbs
GW 12 st.

I'm getting very strong suppression on 2.5 ml still. Jab day is Monday evening. It does wear off by the weekend, in that I start to feel more hungry, but I still get full quickly on small amounts. I think I'll stick to 2.5 again for my next order.

Well done everyone!

saywhaaaaaat · 02/09/2025 15:33

Jab number.... 7 tomorrow? I'm also due my period so weight loss has stalled a little, plus with birthday and away last week, I've not been to the gym. Supression has eased of a tiny but but still enough that I'm prioritising protein and not diving into a deliveroo as standard.

I ordered another jab before all the rush on the 20th August from MedExpress. I have heard NOTHING since then. I can actually reorder from tomorrow, but will hold off for the time being though.

Really really can see the weight loss in my face though and because I'm eating less, my husband is picking less and he's lost weight too.... double whammy.

I did some sums as well and I've lost:

8.5 kg (about 18.7 lbs)

And because my scales does fat loss (although i know that's like... speculative) it says that my total fat loss from that has been:
7.8 kg of fat (just over 17 lbs).

So basically, I've lost almost completely fat and retained muscle which is pretty cool!

sfraxx · 02/09/2025 19:00

Hello.
well after only getting a 3/4 of a jab yesterday , I have quite high suppression today. More than I did with a full dose last week and zero side effects (so far). I even managed the toilet 2 days in a row LOL! I’ve forced myself to eat today, although I had egg and toast for dinner and feel I may regret that as I’m feeling quite nauseous now, I did force myself to finish it as it wasn’t a lot 1 boiled egg and 1 slice of milk roll so I didn’t want to not eat it. I’ve found when I get to a stage of a meal if I don’t call it quits, I feel a bit rotten for a while after.

W2D2
SW - 12st3.7lbs (lost 1st6lbs myself before MJ)
CW - 11st12.6lbs
GW - 10st7lb a

i’ve 0.6lbs to go until my 2 stone loss goal. I can’t quite believe I am in the 11 stone bracket. This is something I thought I’d never see again🥺

Sausagedogsarethewurst · 02/09/2025 19:30

W4D1 and weigh in day. Only lost 0.3 of a kg (that’s only 300g!) but I have been away on holiday so I can’t complain. I mean any loss on holiday is a win, right? 😎

SW 87kg
CW 83.6kg
GW 70kg

I had so little suppression last week I decided to use the golden dose to go up to 5mg this week, so I did 2 injections of 2.5mg. I was also thinking if I couldn’t force turn the dial then it wouldn’t be a problem not getting that last dose but it actually turned and injected easily. Here’s hoping it makes a difference to the weight loss this week.

Pumpernickelbrakes · 02/09/2025 19:35

Week 4 day 1 just over ten pounds down in three weeks woo hoo!
This is amazing to me because normally ten pounds takes about six months of endless effort and deprivation, only for it all to whizz back on again a month later if I relax the relentless vigilance 😬

Thanks, I’m thinking now I should have gone up to 5 and not been freaked out by things I read on Mumsnet about side effects! Unfortunately my work schedule means I don’t want to take the risk for the next couple of weeks so I’ll probably do another couple of weeks on 2.5 then move up. Hope it carries on going well for you.

jan2310 · 03/09/2025 09:24

End of W5 weigh in for me today and I have put on 0.5kg! I’m ok with that but have stayed on 2.5 and now realise I should probably have increased the dose. Overall I’ve lost 5.9kg/13lb in 5 weeks so I can’t complain. Hope everyone is doing well and well done on some great losses.

justjuggling · 03/09/2025 09:26

Morning all! -3lbs for me today. So 23.5lbs lost so far and tonight will be my 6th jab. Am really pleased. Starting to feel my clothes get a little looser but no-one else has noticed/commented so far, perhaps because I was so big to start with?!

That’s nearly a stone in 5 weeks which is great. I found 5 no different to 2.5 in terms of side effects. Was even still hungry by day 5/6!! Maybe finish your current pen then think about moving up a dose?

Hi there, I also plateaued for a week and I think I wanted to go up to 5mg in case it sped things up again. But I would say I am struggling to eat more on 5. Went out for dinner last night with family and could only manage a few bites of my main course, that has never happened to me before. And if I do try to force myself to keep eating I feel sick. So I think probably pluses and minuses to staying on 2.5 or going up to 5mg. Lots of people just stay on 2.5 for ages and do really well on it. I’ve bought two 5mg pens so committed to this dose now but I also slightly feel like I could’ve stayed on 2.5 if I wasn’t so hasty to lose more weight! Patience is a virtue but unfortunately not one of mine 🙃

AsteriaBuffy · 03/09/2025 11:24

Morning! Great to hear everyone's updates :)

Weigh in day (W6 D1) and still a bit rubbish, about a pound this week. So just over 5 lbs in 5 weeks.

I got 5 doses of 2.5mg out of my first pen (inc golden dose).

Am on new 2.5mg pen now, but did an extra dose of 12 clicks putting it up to 3mg. Be interesting to see if it has any effect.

I'm not struggling to eat 3 small meals, just can't cope with larger quantities, so will see how it goes.

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 03/09/2025 12:42

I’ve got my fourth 2.5 jab tomorrow and this lunchtime I am RAVENOUS! I’m sticking to my usual calories but it’s obviously going to be a challenge today 🤦🏻‍♀️

Texanchilli · 03/09/2025 13:30

My Asda order has finally been approved so my next pen will be a 5mg one.

I weighed this morning, I’ve lost 5.5lb so far since I started. I’m on W2, D7 today. Pretty happy with that so far. Injection day tomorrow!

Thanks, that’s really interesting and helpful. I think I’m going to stick with 2.5 for now but this time I only waited 5 days rather than 7 before my next dose so I think I’ll do that again.

The Shotsy app is brilliant for monitoring dose levels in the body and weirdly compelling!

saywhaaaaaat · 03/09/2025 14:32

Gah, so I've just realised it's 2:20pm and I;ve forgotten not only to eat, but do my jab as well. I mean... good sign? But I think that's stress rather than supression. Also my MedExpress is now saying it's been prescribed... but no email. Dunno. Weird.

Haribosweets · 03/09/2025 14:55

Hi! W4 Day 1 for me. Lost another 3ib so that is 11ib in 3 weeks. I never did that with slimming world even after 2 ish years! I will take my 4th jab this evening when I get home from work

Well done everyone amazing weightlosses.
I remembered last night I lost about 7ib before going on MJ so since January I have lost 1st 7ib (approx) but to make it easier I am only counting my MJ weightloss!

I am still getting suppression and having to force myself to eat. Hopefully this will continue as would like to stay at 2.5 for as long as I can!

sfraxx · 03/09/2025 19:16

Hello,

I came to bingo with my mum this evening, realised I’d only had a yogurt all day so had a look at what was on, greasy burgers, chips or salt and chilli chicken. Opted for the chicken with a dip of curry, thoroughly enjoyed it but I hope I don’t live to regret it lol.

had such a dry mouth all day today as well. Feeling guilty now🙈xxx

JustPickleRick · 03/09/2025 19:27

Can anyone explain the science behind needing to go up to 5? Why do losses slow down? Is it because the supression isn't there so you eat more/snack or is it deeper than that? Like if someone kept eating healthy, similar to what they've eaten the first 4 weeks or so, would they not continue to lose? I'm genuinely curious, what do the higher doses do that starts the losses up again?

I'd like to know this as well, as at end of week 4 and 12lb down I'm happy so far with progress, and want to stay on 2.5 for now

I have lost more than that amount before with slimming world, in that timeframe, but... I've never before had 4/5 weeks without a single desire or thought to eat chocolate/crisps or binge

DandelionPockets · 03/09/2025 21:08

It took me so long to get my second pen that I've been off MJ for two weeks. And I have only gone up by 1lb. I would have preferred to have gained none or lost on my own but realistically I've still got some habits to break.

Total lost so far is now 9.5lbs.

I've got another 30lbs-ish to go.
