It’s great to hear that so many of us are doing well and powering through. I’ve got to the stage where I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I was doing well but my weight has been static now for a month. I still have suppression and I’m eating less than I would on a normal ‘diet’ but nothing is happening. I’m absolutely at a loss as to why. I’m walking, watching calorie intake, drinking gallons, eating protein and just nothing. I’m ready to give up really as I can’t afford to spend at this level with no results. I’m working. Two jobs to pay for the jabs. Really quite downhearted about it. Would appreciate any wise words or advice from anyone who has had / is having similar.

That is disheartening! What dose are you on? It’s possibly time for an increase?
Have you lost enough weight that you need to redo your tdee and take a proper look at your calories?

I’ve just taken the 2nd to last dose of my 2nd 5mg pen. I’m moving up to 7.5 next week. I’ve lost 10kg in total (since 26th July) but none of that was in the last month.

I still have about 24kg to lose to get into a healthy BMI.

I'm thinking I’ve missed something major here! What do you mean when you say I should redo my tdee, please?

Texanchilli · 01/11/2025 12:57

I had my last official weigh in on Thursday and I’d put on 1lb. I had been out for a few meals that week though so it’s no surprise really. I took my last dose on Oct 23rd, I’m disappointed I didn’t lose on my last week but life goes on, doesn’t it. I’m 7kg lighter than I was at the start of this and I’m noticing now my clothes are starting to feel looser.
I am worried about putting the weight back on and this week of not really tracking and eating out has shown me how little I can eat without putting on weight. It’s a depressingly small amount! I didn’t have breakfast any day and I had much smaller portions that I would usually have when I go out and I turned down dessert every time.

AsteriaBuffy · 01/11/2025 17:02

I feel like I'm crawling/stalling as well. Since 30 July I've only lost 12 pounds (not kilos!) but do feel that I can move and walk more easily, and am not as 'stout'.

I was reading about gut microbiome and weight loss, and apparently artificial sweeteners aren't great in that regard (google 'artificial sweeteners weight gain'). Annoyingly it's really hard to avoid them, even 'non-diet' drinks and shakes usually contain them as it's cheaper than sugar. I've been drinking cranberry juice and was annoyed to notice that the non diet version is full of it. Also the choc protein shakes I've been drinking. So am going to make a concerted effort to avoid them and go for a diverse range of plants (veg, fruit, spices, oats etc).

My suggestion is to start a thread about this. I've spent some time scrolling on other threads where they've been on the jabs much longer, and plenty have had some longish plateaus. You'll probably get a lot of helpful answers from people who've been in the same position previously x

Your tdee are the amount of calories you need to be able to lose weight, there are some good calculators online and every so often as you lose weight it’s good to redo them as the amount will drop as you lose.
Also there’s a lot of evidence that if you are a pcos sufferer (you don’t say) then your tdee will be even lower.
Im 5,8 weigh currently 12 stone 10 and my calorie intake currently is between 1100 and 1200 calories a day so it’s worth checking.
You say you’re already drinking plenty of water and protein levels good so at least you know thats not the problem.
I keep away from sugar, diet drinks and generally just have a carb element in one of my meals each day.
Also maybe just moving up a dose maybe the thing that sets you loss off going again.

Weekly weigh in, Week 13 Day 1

3lb loss this week. I have been very focussed and disciplined this week as I really wanted to get into the 12 stone bracket, and also get to 12:12 to achieve 2 stone loss. Result on both counts! 😃

Feels good to know that if I put some effort in I can achieve the results I want - hoping the same will ring true without the jab in future but will cross that bridge when I come to it!

last week I jabbed on Monday so I’m going to extend to Tuesday this week.

Checking in: Hurricane Melissa swerved us and wrecked western Jamaica and central Cuba, then hit Bahamas and Bermuda. Also floods and landslides in Haiti and Dominican Republic. We were very lucky and are now focused on getting blood supplies and relief donations to our neighbours. I’ve been stood down from sandbags etc and hope the remaining 4 weeks of hurricane season passes without further issue 🙏

My Lose It app has put me on an even lower amount of calories (1270) and it’s a bit of a struggle to hit 100g protein as well as a decent amount of veg. Will get back into soup making this week.

I too feel that progress is crawling 🐌 but am encouraged by looking at body scan app MeThreeSixty images. I started using it at the end of August after two weeks on MJ and looking at the images now there is a clear difference. It tells me I have lost inches - 2.5 inches from chest, 4 inches from stomach, 3.5 inches from waist, 3 inches from bum - which is great.

Here are the images from MeThreeSixty app comparing two weeks of MJ to present (almost 12 weeks of MJ). When the scale slows I go and look at photo evidence this is working.

My progress is now very slow. I am 12 stone 5lbs. It is still a really good weight loss as I started at 15 and a half stone at the beginning of August. But I’m desperate to be in the 11s!

I’ve also noticed some hunger creeping in. I’m making blackberry and apple crumble for the children (Gruffalo crumble!) - hope I can resist!

That looks like a good app, @Pumpernickelbrakes, is it free?

Yes there is a free and a paid for version. Free is fine, the only minor issue is it won’t let you store multiple weeks of measurements to compare so you have to screenshot but that’s not a big deal. The paid version also gives you some extra data. I compared the readings with the body scan machine at the health clinic and it’s surprisingly accurate so recommend.

Pumpernickelbrakes · 02/11/2025 16:27

PS: it looks like I’m nude but you wear tight clothing to scan yourself, I wear yoga tights and a sports bralette. 😅

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 02/11/2025 18:32

Glad you are safe @Pumpernickelbrakes, and well done in helping with the relief efforts.
Great progress when you see the pictures, it’s good to see progress.

RedPony1 · 03/11/2025 11:12

@MrJollyLivesNextDoor you smashed it last week - well done!! 3lb is mega

Sorry some people are struggling with no loss, I'm sure I'll hit that same plateau at some point so following on the replies, but currently I'm not experienced enough to help :(

Weigh in number 10 this morning, -1.5lb
Total loss = 26lb (so close to the 2 stone!!)

Texanchilli · 04/11/2025 13:46

My appetite is definitely returning. I am tracking everything I eat at the moment, I am eating about 1500-1600 calories a day. I’ve put on 1lb since my last weigh-in. I would like to lose more weight, at least half a stone. My TDEE is 1600 cals to maintain. That feels like nothing. I’m so hungry when I eat that and I’ve put on 1lb. I need to find a way of eating that means I’m not constantly starving.

LnicMJ · 04/11/2025 18:46

Hello All,
Last week I put a pound on, and this week 2 off. That's 23.25lbs in 11 weeks off though. I dont know if im due a woosh 🤞 or not being as strict at the weekend?
My DH is starting this Thursday as he has a little weight he wants shifting and seen how im getting on, and as he's the chef in our house, I know meals will be healthier whilst he's 'on it' as he does put 110% in when he sets his mind to it so hopefully I'll benefit off the back of that!?!
it can be disheartening when you know youre eating less and moving more but the weight not shifting as quickly as you'd like! Im halfway through a pen and have another ready but realistically I want to be coming off by Feb time x
Hope you all have a good week!

Somethingsnapped · 04/11/2025 19:01

I had my two week weigh-in today, and I've only lost 1lb. Although I can't help but feel slightly disappointed, I know it's OK really. I was on holiday for a week of that, and although I didn't do too badly food-wise while I was away, the disruption of my usual routine meant less exercise and less focus on drinking water than usual. Plus the couple of weeks before that I'd had quite a whoosh, so I guess it just levelled out a bit. I'm still on 2.5 though, so I might start keeping a closer eye on it and weigh myself once a week.

On week 12, and I've lost 23 lbs.

twilightcafe · 05/11/2025 11:49

Checking in - I've got one week left on 2.5mg, then I'm moving to the 5mg pen. I will start off on 3.75mg to minimise any side effects (fingers crossed).

According to my scales, I've lost nearly 2 stone since late August. I think the scales are being nice today. I can't believe I've lost that much.

@Pumpernickelbrakes thank you for the link to that app. I’ve just downloaded it and scanned myself. 😱
Debating whether to upgrade and see what it says for the visceral fat!! Do you know if it keeps all the info to compare if one upgrades?
I’m just about to have my 3rd dose of MJ tonight.

I downloaded it too! It’s certainly motivating me to lose more weight 😂

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 06/11/2025 11:39

Jab and weigh day again for me! Another 1.5lbs off which I’m so pleased with as didn’t feel like I’d lost anything this week! Had a couple of higher calorie days too at 1500 and 1800 so hope they don’t spoil next weeks scales!
So 24lbs in 12 weeks. Slower than some but as long as it’s going down that’s what matters.
I managed my first golden dose this week after failing miserably the last two times! I think I got more like 7 rather than 7.5 so will see how much difference that makes. I have to say the extra dose makes me feel so anxious, I feel ridiculous worrying about whether I injected an air bubble etc but it does freak me out 😂 But also don’t want to waste the good stuff.
Still not dropped a dress size on my bottoms yet but I think my top is now a 14. Only 1 more stone to be a healthy bmi but after that I will need to lose one more.
Anyway, hope everyone else is having a good week!!

Texanchilli · 06/11/2025 13:52

I seem to have had a bit of breakthrough after my last post. I’ve been very strict about calorie counting and I’m aiming to stick to 1200 calories a day, with the emphasis on protein. I’m fasting until lunchtime. It seems to be working so far. I don’t feel hungry all the time and I’ve lost 1lb since Tuesday. I’m feeling relatively positive that I can carry on losing weight without the MJ as long as I am strict about calorie counting.
