This week has been wild; it’s half term and I have been so busy. I’m a local deputy captain in our community emergency response team and we have been activated to ready for possible hurricane and flood impacts from Hurricane Melissa so I have been running the sandbag station since Wednesday, filling and carrying hundreds of sandbags. It looks like we are not going to get hit after all, but we won’t stand down until it has passed our area. Prayers for our neighbours in Jamaica, and other Caribbean nations.
Managed breakfast every day (oatmeal fruit and Greek yogurt) but from 9-5 it’s been protein shakes, Gatorade and insane amounts of water, no food.
I think I’m down about 3 lbs in a week but will check once muscle inflammation subsides. I have the regiment deployed to help me today so they can take over the heavy lifting.
Looking forward to standing down and refuelling tomorrow and hope this damn storm leaves us alone and the track doesn’t change. Absolutely catastrophic situation about to go down in Jamaica 💔
