@NeedSleepNowi found the suppression was too high for me, I am determined to hit as close to my calorie/protein/fibre goal each day and struggled to get past 900kcal. I also had frightful constipation so I reduced it after two weeks and feel much better.

TheArtfulCrow · 20/09/2025 09:17

W8 D1 for me, weigh in day. I'm only down a pound this week. However I've not been well and I'm currently on my period. Trying not to be too disheartened. Onwards we go.

SW: 14st 10lbs
CW: 13st 5lbs
GW: 10st

Week 9 and I’ve gained a pound 🤦‍♀️

I don’t actually think I have -I just had a fun night out last night!

I will not let this start a negative spiral and I have had a lovely ham/mushroom omelette for breakfast

1 and a half stone in 9 weeks even with today’s ‘blip’

Well done on everyone's losses.

W6 D1 Decided to stay at 2.5mg for my second pen.
Had a really good week, no particular reason, just felt good and positive about things.
I've lost a little over a stone now, and I can see it in the mirror (hips and boobs) and feel it in the fit of my clothes.

SW 14st 13.6lbs
CW 13st 11lbs
TW 10st 7lbs - 11st 7lbs

I'm super happy to leave the 14 stone bracket, haven't been able to get under 14 for ages.

I worked out this morning that I've lost 7.6% of my body weight and I want to lose between 22% - 28% so I'm either ⅓ or ¼ of the way.

Texanchilli · 20/09/2025 10:40

I am feeling really down today. Has anyone found their mood affected by MJ? Combined with the not losing anything this week, I feel really down about everything at the moment. I think I have wasted money on MJ by not managing to lose much on the first pen. I’ve currently lost 6.5lb since I started on 21st Aug.

What I have become painfully aware of, is how little I can eat on a daily basis to stay the same weight, never mind to lose weight! I am currently eating 2 meals a day, a protein shake and a couple of biscuits. That’s at least half what I was eating before I started.

@SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease did you get side effects on 3.75mg or was the suppression too high? I've done 9 jabs at 2.5mg and will move to a 5mg pen next week but think I'll try 3.75mg for the first week to see how I get on. I'm terrified of getting sickness or diarrhoea when at work so worry about going up doses too quickly incase I get those as side effects!

I think everyone reacts differently. I was also worried about side effects on 5 so decided after 6 weeks on 2.5 to try 3.75. I’ve just taken my second jab of 3.75 and had no side effects at all other than a slight metallic taste in my mouth and some increased thirst for the first 24 hours. In fact I feel better on 3.75 than I was feeling on 2.5 in the last couple of weeks when my weight loss stalled and I was feeling sluggish. I have got my energy back, lost 2lb this week and constipation is much better. I feel much more positive. I would say don’t be afraid to increase the dose but do it gradually if you are worried the increase is too big.

Everyone absolutely reacts differently, I increased mine and didn’t feel better so I decreased it and feel good.

It’s definitely a trial and error process for each individual.

Hello everyone well done on continued progress and hope anyone who is on a temporary plateau or has gained a tiny bit doesn't feel too disheartened. Lots of things can affect it, like hormones, water retention, stress, poor sleep etc. I did get stuck without losing anything for a while but it did pass. I'm on Week 7 now and will do my jab tomorrow. I'm staying on 5mg for forseeable. I do find I feel tired and achey the day after the jab and sometimes a headache but it's worth it for me.

SW 102kg
CW 92kg
TW was 90kg - however have now decided that I don't just want to be not obese and "overweight" but aim for "healthy weight" which would be 76.5kg. At the beginning that just seemed like such an impossible dream and so unrealistic I didn't want to set it as a goal but I've now lost 1.6 stone in 7 weeks and want to keep going. My back fat has disappeared and my stomach is flatter. I went out with my husband last night and he said I looked nice and seemed more confident. I do think being too heavy made me want to hide away a bit.

I found this an interesting article in The Guardian today, I definitely don't crave crisps and chocolate as I sometimes used to. And my weekend glasses of Cava have declined as make my head too sore and feel sick next day. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/sep/20/how-do-weight-loss-medications-affect-our-relationship-with-food

How do weight loss medications affect our relationship with food?

From reduced hunger to a changing palate, weight loss jabs can alter our experience and enjoyment of food

Try not to be disheartened. Think what you’d say to someone who cared about that had achieved something great and was then disheartened that it wasn’t great enough. Averaging 1.5lbs a week is actually a good healthy and allegedly more sustainable weight loss. It’s so very easy to get caught up in the speed others are losing weight, but this big decision you took to go on weight loss drugs is about you and how the drugs hopefully give you the headspace to nurture your body. Think about your wins. If you hadn’t been on MJ, might you have gained? Have you lost any inches? Do your clothes feel a bit better? Do you feel less hungry/more in control of your eating?

If you’re confident you’re not eating too many or too few calories, then it might just take a few more days/weeks to show on the scales. Many people have said upping their water intake helps. If the problem is that you’re still feeling hungry, you could consider upping your dose. Losing quickly is all very well and let’s face it, this is what a lot of us truly crave after spending all this money, but too quick a weight loss may also contribute to looser skin, greater hair-loss and supposedly quicker weight gain at the end of the process. Hope this helps even a teeny bit…xx

Pumpernickelbrakes · 20/09/2025 20:41

wow, 40+ messages since I last looked on here. Well done everyone for keeping at it. I was expecting weight loss to slow after the first 5-7 weeks and it has for me. I’m staying focused on what I’ve lost since I started rather than each week. Almost a stone down since 14 August. Body shape is changing with 2 inches off waist.

I have not lost any muscle mass which was a major goal (endocrinologist did another body scan when I went back after 5 weeks).

Appetite suppression is barely there. Still on 2.5mg. Feeling hungry but eating healthy - high protein high fibre Mediterranean.

Will go up to 5mg in October.

is anyone using Me360 app? It’s fantastic, it scans your body and shows how many inches you’ve lost

Its free!

Hello everyone,

sorry I haven’t messaged. I’ve ended up in hospital with severe stomach and back pains. I’ve been advised to stop mounjaro until they can’t get to the bottom of this.

will keep checking on everyone else’s journey at the moment though🩷

A 2lb loss this week - happy with that. I’m planning to stay on 2.5 for as long as possible so if I can lose 2lb per week I should be at target around end of Feb, which previously would have seemed like a pipe dream!

18lbs lost of 62lbs target… 29% gone so almost 1/3 of the way. This makes me very happy and motivated 🙂

End of first week on Wegovy and I have lost 1.5 lbs. I have my period which i think impacted my weight loss last week as only dropped half a pound but 2lbs over 2 weeks I am happy with. Found the injection much easier to administer as its just a button, the top doesn't twist up like MJ does.

Not had any side effects changing from MJ to Wegovy and did notice I didnt have that food staying in my stomach for hours feeling which I am glad about. Feel like I had to engage more willpower but thats probably because I started on lowest dose of Wegovy after a month in lowest dose MJ.

I now have less to lose than I have lost if that makes sense.

Pre MJ/Wegovy start weight 244 lbs
Lost 19.4 lbs in calorie deficit (working with a nutritionalist)

Start Weight on MJ 224.6 lbs
Current weight 211.6 lbs
Total loss since 11/8 is 13 lbs

Overall total loss 32.4 lbs
Pounds to target 31.6 lbs

It’s my birthday weekend and I drove to dinner last night, unheard of!
Cake with all the family today but think I can still stay on track calorie wise over the three days as genuinely no real want of anything sweet but not wanting to be rude.

Well done everyone! Five weeks and six kilos down. Jeans feeling lose so bought a size down, still too small but they'll be there when I need them, hopefully not too far away. Weirdly I had a massive craving for pizza tonight, but some leftover veg chilli seems to have sorted it. Jabbing later tonight, sticking to 2.5 but I have ordered next pen as a five to give more flex if needed. Weirdly my planter fascitis has been a bit worse again the last week. Possibly because I've walking longer? But I hope I don't lost that side effect, it's been worth the cost just for that!!
