Has anyone switched from mounjaro to wegovy?

I just wondered if anyone had made the switch, and if so had it been successful?

I tried semaglutide tablets a couple years ago but didnt have any luck with them. I started mounjaro 11 months ago and am a slow loser, but prior to the injections the weight loss was practically non existent thanks to perimenopause.

The problem is that with the injections going up in price, with the slow losses, I am not sure I can justify the extra cost so was considering trying wegovy. Would love to know if anyone else has switched and if it has been successful.

I’d also love to know this. I’ve only take moujarno a few weeks and it’s going well. But can I justify the extra cash? I’m also worried about the side effect profile as I struggle with fatigue as it is. I’ve had next to no side effects on moujarno. I’ve 3.5 stone to lose and lost half a stone in 2 weeks on moujarno. Do I just suck up 6 months of the extra price? Or switch now?

I have a friend right at the beginning too and she is going to try switching. She decided if it doesnt work as well she can just switch back

I’ve put my order in but medexpress says 7-9 days processing

Have you been able to go in at a similar dose or did you have to start again?

I’ve ordered the wegovy equivalent

50lbstolose · 29/08/2025 16:44

I was already considering swapping from Mounjaro to Weygovy as I don't like the slow digestion on MJ, the cost increase made my mind up for me.

I ordered on Wednesday through weprescribe and it was delivered today. I got the mj equivelant dose.

I was microdosing mj. I did 5 weeks on 2.5mg (I always get the golden dose) and then was 12 weeks on 3.75mg. I lost an average of 1.5lb a week.

Fingers crossed the Weygovy works as well

🤞🤞

I haven’t switched yet but first time round I did wegovy. I found it to be as (if not more) effective than Mounjaro. I lost more weight more quickly.

Member218500 · 29/08/2025 19:36

I’ve just taken my first dose of wegovy today after 7 months on Mounjaro. I’ve lost 4st in that time with only a stone to go until my target weight.

I’ve had very few negative side effects on Mounjaro so I’m hoping I’ll be the same on wegovy.

I was on 10mg of Mounjaro and my pharmacy allowed me to start on 1mg of wegovy. I was about ready to move up to 12.5 before the price increase.

CreepingCrone · 01/09/2025 13:07

I've already ordered Wegovy for my next pen. I still have 7 weeks of MJ to go, but can't make an £80 increase

My issue is im a slow loser and adding an extra £100 a month when im losing so little just feels too much. I know without it I barely lose at all so know its helping but its hard to justify the extra when this is going to take me so long, so definitely considering wegovy as an alternative.

Difficult decision, isn't it. I'm still quite cross about the price increases!!!

It is so frustrating, wouldn't have felt so bad with a gradual increase but such a hike just feels wrong. My initial reaction was the is clearly greed (they were obviously making money on the original price so this feels unnecessary), I dont want to encourage it, but I also know this works. I have a few weeks before I need to make a decision but am leaning towards trying wegovy

That’s good. I’ve ordered Wegovy now. I’m wondering if you regained and had to start again? One thing that’s putting me off wegovy is the doses seem rigid. I read lots about people titrating down Mounjaro or micro dosing. I’m worried about how I’ll come off wegovy and maintain already.

Sofia25 · 02/09/2025 11:34

Which providers are people using to switch to wegovy?

Loooop · 03/09/2025 00:36

Well, I was with SheMed and thought would just switch. But they have emailed to say I’m not eligible. I had a medical event between my first prescription being issued and the first injection. I delayed starting, contacted them, they said to clear starting with my gp. I did and got started.

declared the story in my medical questionnaire and they have said no! No real explanation but I assume it’s about my hospital admission.

bloody hell. So disappointing. Im 11lb down in 4 weeks. Nothing to take beyond this week.

You can just use another prescriber?

I’d try a different prescriber. When I started Mounjaro, one wouldn’t take me due to a medication I’m on, but others would.

I know, but it’s hassle. My first prescription is dated April (but took in August) so that’s an issue for going up a dose. I don’t know whether to start or lowest or 2nd lowest wegovy.

its also just poop. They sent an email and locked me out the app. No explanation and now no pen ordered for next week.

also should I be worried? Do they know something p doesn’t about interactions?

I’m with Voy and they just agreed to switch me from MJ to Wegovy so my next pen delivery will be Wegovy 7.5 (I’m currently on MJ 10).

Wegovy 7.5?

Smileylaura87 · 03/09/2025 16:27

Ive switched with chequp and gone onto the equivalent dose 10mh mounjaro to 1.7mg wegovy
So let's just see how it goes x

Seahorsesplendour · 03/09/2025 20:12

Jumping on as will be doing this once my MJ runs out. I was lucky enough to get a 2pen bundle on the day the panic started so have about 11 weeks worth left.

planning on a short break to see how it feels 🫣

then starting wegovy at lowest dose

mj has been good effect from day one but have had to move up a dose every 5 weeks as the suppression fades drastically and the food noise increases.

started in May this year am 3 st down with 4 (or maybe 5) left to go.

hoping to shift another 2 whilst still on MJ

WhyArePiratesCalledPiratessss · 03/09/2025 20:53

Im toying with giving wegovey a go.
I have great suppression on mounjaro but the slow digestion is rubbish.
Currently on 7.5mg but medexpress will switch me to 1mg wegovey as an equivalent dose.
Loses have also slowed down in the last month so maybe thats the push to move me over.
Why is this so hard????? 😭

Sisterlove · 03/09/2025 23:11

I'm going to be switching. I was due to increase to the 7.5mg of MJ... that would be an increase of £100.00 with my provider. My provider only had the 5mg pen, so I had to get that again.

My provider suggested that I try Wegovy, but said I would need 2 weeks between the switch. I'm fine with that. I don't feel that I have much choice tbh. After my current pen finishes, I'll likely move to wegovy.

I wish there was a boycott in purchasing MJ and they'd be forced to reduce the price again.

MamaNewtNewt · 04/09/2025 07:50

Those switching to wegovy, are you just starting from the lowest amount, like a total new starter, rather than an equivalent mg to what you were on with Mounjaro?
