Has anyone switched from mounjaro to wegovy?

I just wondered if anyone had made the switch, and if so had it been successful?

I tried semaglutide tablets a couple years ago but didnt have any luck with them. I started mounjaro 11 months ago and am a slow loser, but prior to the injections the weight loss was practically non existent thanks to perimenopause.

The problem is that with the injections going up in price, with the slow losses, I am not sure I can justify the extra cost so was considering trying wegovy. Would love to know if anyone else has switched and if it has been successful.

I took my first Wegovy dose today and I’m waiting to see what happens, if anything. Hoping the side effects aren’t too bad as I really struggled with them on MJ. My last dose of MJ (10mg) seemed to do sweet fa for me so curious to see if Wegovy helps, or if I just need to pack in taking WLI and get my jaws wired shut instead. 🙄

I was on MJ for about 3 months and switched. I’m finding I have more side effects and it’s not quite as effective, but for the difference in cost it’s good enough.

3 weeks into 1.7mg of Wegovy and I have gained 4lbs. I’m due to take my final dose tonight but think I will bin it and go straight to the 2.4mg pen waiting in the fridge to see if that is better for suppression. I’ve had no side effects on W and was previously on 15mg of MJ for several months.

I’ve definitely been eating (snacking) more these last few weeks, so I know that’s on me and on MJ I was obviously relying on appetite control.

How are others finding the switch?

Sorry for quoting myself again - it’s so I can update

I did the last dose of my second Wegovy pen yesterday. I have gained 6lb in 2 months and the only side effect of Wegovy is increased hunger! I ordered mounjaro again and it’s in the fridge ready for next week. Sadly it’s only 5mg as I’ve been off it for 2 months but it was the same price as the 2.4 Wegovy. I’m going to suck up the cost as I go up the doses and stick it out until I can try the new drugs coming out.

It’s so disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend Wegovy to anyone

I was on MJ for the best part of the year, lost 2 stone, got up to 7.5 dose. Started to micro dose, miss weeks, holidays etc and have been properly off for about 7/8 weeks. Have put 7lbs back on and need a further stone and a half to get to ideal weight (I’m short!).

The side effects weren’t great on MJ so have applied for Wegovy at the lightest dose, waiting to hear if I’m approved. Not sure if I should’ve applied for higher but due to the break they’d probably have me back at the start.

Praying Wegovy is better suited to me!

I'm finding Wegovy ok, did Mj feb to early August I think, had September off and gained a few lbs back. Started on Wegovy due to cost issues. Just did last dose of 2nd pen and will increase to 1mg when I next order.
I am loosing, although at a slower rate, between 1 and 1.5lbs a week, but I only have 15lbs to go to target now so expect it would have slowed at this point anyway. No major side effects other than the odd headache and occasionally feeling a tiny bit sick the day after injections. I dont think its as good as Mj, but its still a lot better than willpower alone!

Ive done the switch and week 2 im not hopeful. I went from 12.5mg mounjaro to 1mg wegovy so I am going to try stepping up to the 1.7mg pen before I give up but I have done my week 2 injection yesterday and today am constantly hungry.

I’ve just started week 2 on the 1.7mg (was on 10mg MJ previously) and it’s not good. On the positive side I haven’t had any side effects (which I was worried about as I struggled with MJ). But I haven’t had any effects at all, good or bad! I’m so hungry almost all the time, can’t stop thinking about food and my weight has already increased by 2kg.

Just updating in case anyone is still looking at this thread.

One month later and Wegovy does NOT agree with me at all. I feel ill all the time. Just off colour and under the weather and like I have a permanent bug. Except it seems it’s a bug I’m injecting into myself. 🙄So I’ve decided to stop. I need to be able to work (or I’ll lose my job) and Wegovy makes me feel too ill to do that. Unfortunately going back to MJ isn’t an option due to the cost so looks like I’m going to have to take my chances of getting fat again. 😥

I've changed and I'm really happy. Weight loss has slowed a bit (on highest dose) but is still going in the right direction. Also, I had insomnia on MJ, which has stopped with Wegovy.
