Has anyone switched from mounjaro to wegovy?

I just wondered if anyone had made the switch, and if so had it been successful?

I tried semaglutide tablets a couple years ago but didnt have any luck with them. I started mounjaro 11 months ago and am a slow loser, but prior to the injections the weight loss was practically non existent thanks to perimenopause.

The problem is that with the injections going up in price, with the slow losses, I am not sure I can justify the extra cost so was considering trying wegovy. Would love to know if anyone else has switched and if it has been successful.

Those switching to wegovy, are you just starting from the lowest amount, like a total new starter, rather than an equivalent mg to what you were on with Mounjaro?

I asked pillsorted and they said I would have to start from the beginning but I know some others are allowing a swap to an equivalent dose

Im pissed off I had to change provider and have now applied for 5mg moujaro from chequp. I think if I can stay low dose I will keep on it for now but if doses creeping up I’ll switch. I’ve lost 11lb (6% body weight) with no side effects in 3 weeks. I hope I can lose at half that pace over the next 6 months (5.5lb a month)? Hope that’s realistic. That kind of pace means would be at target in 6 months time.

meatyryvita · 04/09/2025 09:27

SheMed have switched me to a comparable Wegovy dose, which is good news ( I was due to go from 7.5mg to 10mg on Mounjaro this time around based on a previous discussion with them, so when completing my questionnaire, I was clear that moving me down would not be acceptable).

I’m with Voy and they’re swapping me to an equivalent Wegovy dose.

Alittlebitferal · 05/09/2025 20:03

I have my Wegovy ready to take my first dose tomorrow. Praying I don't get side effects.

ChaosDream · 07/09/2025 14:52

I’ve just bitten the bullet and ordered Wegovy over MJ for the first time. Med express prescribed 2.4mg and it cost just under £205 inc P&P. I’d planned to stay on MJ for another month but just cannot justify the cost. Hopefully will be able to report back with some comparisons over the next couple of weeks. Good luck all x

I've lost 2st on mounjaro and found eating anything a big struggle. Nausea and heartburn. Possibly why I lost the weight. However ive swapped to wegovy. Been on it 2 weeks. No side effects at all. But no weight loss. Very disappointing. Thinking of going back on mounjaro, but a lower dose to keep the cost down.

Are you on the highest dose of wegovy?

HarryHamish · 10/09/2025 18:27

I started Wegovy 1mg 2 weeks ago after ending on 10mg Mounjaro. I don't have the full feeling or the block on food noise with Wegovy like I did on Mounjaro. It feels like I've not even taken the Wegovy injections.

FoxRedPuppy · 10/09/2025 18:37

It might just mean you need a higher dose? Wegovy works slightly differently to Mounjaro.

idrinkandiknowthings · 11/09/2025 13:48

I am considering switching due to the price hike, although MedExpress have given me £30 credit off my next order.

I'm on 5mg, what's the Wegovy equivalent? Worried about side effects too though. Mine on MJ have calmed down.

Sofia25 · 11/09/2025 13:59

You're prbly looking at wegovy 0.5mg with most suppliers, try Cuva Health

JaceLancs · 11/09/2025 20:24

I’ve decided to stick with 5mg mounjaro
SheMed have dropped their prices but I’d already ordered through med express
Both are quoting 7-10 days delivery due to supplier issues - but I’ve just jabbed dose 3 so can manage 2 week wait

50lbstolose · 13/09/2025 16:28

I've just taken my first dose of 0.5 Weygovy. I have been on mounjaro since the end of April.

I'll update on how I get on

Darguewin · 16/09/2025 20:43

Any update on people who have changed?

WhyArePiratesCalledPiratessss · 17/09/2025 21:22

My wegovey is in the fridge. One more mounjaro (monday) and then moving on
Medexpress sent me 1mg as the equivalent dose so hoping the side effects aren't horrific!

Msammut555 · 20/09/2025 13:52

Oh my gosh, I lost over six stone in about 8 months using mounjaro and as the cost has gone up I decided to swap over to wegovy and as I was on 15 mg mounjaro, the company put me straight on 2.4 mg of wegovy.
My God, what a mistake!!!!!!!!!
I've never been so hungry and out of control and find it really scary as I was in control for so long I've desperately gone back onto mounjaro for my maintenance to keep my weight off as I started putting weight on on the highest dose of wegovy!!!!
Suddenly realised I pay much more to get the medication. That works for me. Which is mounjaro
Remember there is a new weight loss drug coming out which is a triple glp receptor medication called Retatrutide!!!
I was shocked that the maximum which is 2.4 on wegovy will now be nearly tripled to 7.2 mg a week. Dosage desperately trying to keep up with mounjaro.
Please don't waste your money. Everyone don't buy wegovy it's just not worth it.
I understand now how people are driven to the black market and I do know people taking reconstituted peptides which was allowed when there was shortages for companies to compound these drugs. Everyone I know who's done that has had great results but I've just been scared into not using these websites and going through official pharmacies as I'm a wimp.
I hope this helps someone out there. All the best on your journey
Love and hugs 🙏❤️😸

I think they say in real terms the max dose of wegovy is like 7.5 of mounjaro, and by tripling it would be similar to 15 mg, it’s not a linear increase in effects, as in double it doesn’t do it,,,but of course as it doesn’t have the two agonists so it has many more side effects as it’s more difficult to tolerate for many people. I’ve no idea how well people could tolerate such a high dose, we will soon find out.

it’s also only for 4 doses in a pen, so I’m not sure if really is much cheaper in real terms.

I think there are 8 more drugs in final testing now, and of course a few generic wegovy;s ready to go next year when it comes out of patent, which will change the landscape, as if the generic ones are much cheaper it’s worth a crack.

I haven’t switched yet but first time round I did wegovy. I found it to be as (if not more) effective than Mounjaro. I lost more weight more quickly.

Oh this is great to hear! I have been worried about the move which I am making next week :)

Msammut555 · 22/09/2025 17:34

Hey there it seems everyone I spoke to who started wegovy had success but after being on mounjaro it's not only me that said it's USELESS.i wasted money trying to save money.Ive lost over 4 stones and panicked when price went up.
Remember anytime now the max dose of wegovy is going from 2.4 to 7.2 mg!!!!!!!!
In their own words to make it more comparible to mounjaro
I wish you happiness and health but I must tell you I turned into the cookie monster staying to go on wegovy and started to put weight back on.
Back on mounjaro and weight stays just where I want.
I think again if you haven't tried mounjaro you're fine.
It's that extra glp receptor in mounjaro.
Next year they should be selling retatrutide which is a TRIPLE action whammy and stronger than mounjaro..
In last clinical phase but have a feeling more and more will come out.
All the very best

Angryflamingo · 24/09/2025 09:46

Anymore switchers with positive stories?

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/09/2025 18:39

I’m in the process of switching but haven’t finished my current MJ so my new Wegovy hasn’t yet arrived. I admit that I’m very nervous about side effects on Wegovy and I’m sort of expecting that I may just end up stopping WLI altogether if it doesn’t suit me. I’m pretty much just maintaining now on MJ (BMI is down to 24.5) so it will force me into a decision one way or another.

How are people that have switched getting on?

I've gone from 15mg MJ to 2.4mg Wegovy and it seems to have about the same effect.

I'm really interested in retatrutide.
I'll definitely look into getting it when it comes out.

Idontknownowwhat · 09/10/2025 00:26

I was on mounjaro 7.5mg was working a treat. 24kg down since March.
Swapped to wegovy 0.5mg 3 weeks ago. I've put on 3kg. I'm ravenous alllllllll the time.
