Anybody just starting Wegovy?

blondebombsite13 · 27/08/2025 19:45

Hi all, been reading some threads with interest but wondering if there’s anybody on Wegovy that would like to share progress? Or any stories / tips etc from people further along.

About me, I am 44 and just not losing the excess weight like I used to and so have finally taken the plunge and started on Wegovy.

I guess I chose Wegovy due to the proposed price increases of Mounjaro, also, I thought Wegovy might be a bit more slow and steady as I only want to lose a few stone. Although I could be wrong about that, but we’ll see.

I have ordered through Juniper and they sent me a set of scales which pair to the app so I don’t need to manually record my weight, it does it for me.

I’m not sure how accurate the scales are though so I will also probably keep an eye on my own scales.

I had thought my starting weight was 12 stone 7 but I weighed on Juniper scales just now and it says 12 stone 10. I think for the purposes of tracking and discussion here I’ll just use 12 stone 10.

This is almost the biggest I have ever been. Following the birth of my third child I was 13 stone and I managed to get down to 11 and a half, but despite my efforts, I’m now back up at 12 stone 10.

I took first jab this evening, seemed straightforward. Don’t feel any different yet. I could eat, but not starving, going to try not to have anything this evening although I think that will probably require sheer will power as probably too soon for the jab to have any effect.

So,
Starting weight: 12 stone 10
Current weight: 12 stone 10
Waist: 30.5 inches
Target weight: 10 stone 9

@blondebombsite13 Hi, how are you getting on with Wevovy? I have a similar amount to lose, CW 12.2st at 5ft 1. Bit scared of the process but I know with hard work and determination it will be worth it.
can I ask where is the best place to order from? And what websites/resources is everyone using for support and advice.
would be grateful for your help x

blondebombsite13 · 03/11/2025 20:34

Hi @biz456im just jumping on a train so will reply in more detail tomorrow!

But in short, it’s going well for me.

I did 4 weeks on the starting dose, 0.25ml with no issues, moved up to 0.5 for 4 weeks, and then requested to stay on that dose. I’ve got 2 more jabs of 0.5 to go but thinking of sticking here again rather than moving up a dose.

I think I’ve lost around 1 stone 4 lbs so far, will upload my chart tomorrow.

I don’t really know about best providers. Im
with Juniper, who I am happy with, but I guess I should shop about for best price as o think you need go more around to get the best price. I just don’t really want to rock the boat.

im sure I have a referral code, I will try and send it tomorrow.

any questions let me know and I will reply tomorrow!

Hey,

Well done on an amazing loss 👏🏽
I appreciate your help and I hope you get home safe from the train or wherever you are going x

I have been thinking about Juniper, it’s high on my list as it says on the website you get the support.
What is the support like? Do you get someone checking in with you or is a generic email or two?

Would be great if you have a referral code, just PM me if you prefer to and I will consider that. I’ve just started a gym membership at David Lloyd, I’m pretty good with exercise but food is my downfall. I have heard a few people have listened to some hypnotherapy scripts so I’m going to look into that as it’s meant to help with habit changes.

look forward to hearing from you
xx

blondebombsite13 · 04/11/2025 08:38

Morning @biz456

I was heading up north actually, visiting a friend for a few days Smile

As regards juniper, I think there is support which is highly regarded. I have heard good things about it but I haven’t personally used it.

There is an AI assistant which I find useful (as I don’t have ChatGPT or anything) and you can ask it to assess your progress, help with diet plans etc, assess your daily eating etc.

I also find the progress chart useful. When you sign up they send you a set of scales and a measuring tape and the scales link up to your app so it logs your weight automatically.

I am due to inject today and then I have one more injection of 0.5. But I am fairly sure I am going to stay on 0.5 again rather than go up a level.

I am happy with what I am eating and don’t particularly want to eat any less. There is a big difference in what I am eating now and what I was eating before. I feel tired a lot of the time so I don’t want to eat any less.

the tiredness is probably the only side effect I have (and to be honest I was tired a lot of the time before anyway!). It was at its worst when I first started on Wegovy. The day after the first couple of jabs I was wiped out, but that doesn’t happen anymore.

The way I see it, I’ve been overeating for years. My body is adjusting to less food and I’m happy to give it time to adjust. I don’t want to restrict it even further, even if it means no movement on the scales for a couple of days / weeks (I’ve attached my chart below).

This was also one of my reasons for choosing Wegovy over Mounjaro (as well as the price increase of Mounjaro), I think MJ is more effective and I didn’t want the weight to come off too fast. I want it to be sustainable.

Weight is static at the moment but I’m ok with that. I got a new book for my birthday and have spent the last few weekends curled up reading Grin I want to get past the fatigue as I want to start exercising more (David lloyd membership sounds brilliant, I’ve heard they are lovely gyms).

Staying at a friends just now who has a full length tiltable mirror in spare room and caught sight of my back for first time in a while - I could definitely see a difference there, so that was a nice surprise. It’s sometimes easy to lose sight of how much fat you are actually losing from around your vital organs etc and it’s nice to be reminded that changes are happening.

Bit of a ramble, please let me know if you have any specific questions!

Chart: it really does look like I’m plateauing a bit. Will have a think about increasing dose but I am reluctant. Going to try and increase exercise.

An update from me on my transition from Mounjaro to Wegovy. Finally, after 2 months, I'm starting to lose well. I lost just shy of 2lbs last week and look to be that or more for this week. It seems to take a while to kick in but when it does, the losses are great (assuming you stick to your calories, keep protein up, drink plenty of water etc.). I've found the suppression over the last few days to be really good.

blondebombsite13 · 04/11/2025 09:00

Ohno.

I wrote a big reply and it’s been deleted.

The only reason I can think of is because I put the referral link?
@mumsnetcould you please reinstate my reply without the referral code? It took me ages to type Sad

FunnyCrabDance · 04/11/2025 11:45

I'm finding the transition from mj to wegovy to be getting better over time. Had my last dose of 0.25 last week and could finally feel a bit more suppression, went away for a long weekend and still lost a lb.
Going up to 0.5 today and feeling more positive about it all

biz456 · 04/11/2025 12:34

@blondebombsite13
aww I hope you a wonderful few days with your friend.

I like the fact they have support, I might look at some trustpilot reviews and other sources to see if it will be useful for me (I’m sure it will).

i have heard Wegovy is more sustainable but takes a little bit longer, I don’t mind that rather than lose too much too quick on MJ. Also the price tag on Wegovy is much better.
I hope you get past the fatigue fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽
You’ve had an amazing loss so far, keep going!

I’ll keep you posted with my journey when I start 🤞🏽😊

blondebombsite13 · 07/11/2025 08:30

Morning all,

just a very brief update from me.

graph wasn’t looking great, not much movement, but I’ve finally seen 11 stone 2 on the scales this morning. No doubt will be some more fluctuations but it’s always a good feeling to see a new number.

Clothes are maybe a bit looser, but not falling off me. In clothes I think i look much the same, so still nobody has really noticed. But it feels a bit relief to not have all that fat around my vital organs anymore.

Areas of concern - tummy and upper arms. After 3 pregnancies I’m not sure how much can be achieved with the tummy. But the arms I know to do some exercises / weights. I’d love to be able to wear short sleeves / bare arms, but maybe at my age that’s just not going to be realistic anyway. Sad for the all years in my 30s that I missed out on wearing nice clothes though.

Anyway, hopefully I can try and not mess up all my good work with too much wine this weekend!! (Kidding, I’ve actually kind of gone off wine as well since starting this - another bonus!)

Have a good weekend all xx

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my delivery and I started this morning, so today is day 1. I’m nervous and excited all at the same time. I do want to tackle fatigue ahead of time, as I know this is common so I’ll be heading to Holland and Barratt this weekend to get some supplements and make sure I keep hydrated. Any tips for the first few days and week 1 welcome please.

@blondebombsite13 thank you for your support, really appreciate it. I did end up going with Juniper and got myself a snazzy set of scales.

That's fantastic news! 🎉 Seeing that new number on the scale. It’s a huge milestone and definitely something to celebrate.
It sounds like you're not only making great progress physically but also building a healthier relationship with food and drink, which is a massive win (going off wine is a real bonus!).

Even if others haven't noticed yet, the important thing is that you've noticed a difference and are feeling better.

You are doing amazing work, so keep that focus and momentum going.
Have a wonderful and healthy weekend! You've earned this progress! 💪

blondebombsite13 · 13/11/2025 08:41

Morning all 👋

jusy wrote a big post and it accidentally deleted, annoying, so will keep this brief!

things been very static but I’ve been busy so haven’t had much time to think about it.

progress definitely slowed down but im
basically eating less and having less cravings, but with very minimal side effects (just constipation, really), so I’m happy to continue on like this and try to change lifestyle (ie increase exercise).

Movemebt kn the scales very static, but finally saw a new number this morning! So just need to keep at it.

still on 0.5 dose and reluctant to move up as I know I’ll have to come off the injections at some point so don’t want to get too reliant on them.

trying to keep in mind that the weight loss at the start was so huge and not sustainable, and that slow and steady is ok.

How is everyone getting on? How are you doing @biz456?

Morning, me again, with another update, even though possibly just for my own benefit!

Some more movement on the scales this morning, made it to 11 stone!!

Great to see after being stuck around 11 stone 3 for so long.

Feeling so pleased with the overall loss and definitely couldn’t have done it without Wegovy.

Not too sure where to go from here though. I am now only just into normal BMI range, which is between 8 stone 3 and 11 stone.

8 stone 3 is very far from realistic for me. But I had thought things would be much different at 11 stone. As it is, my usual clothes still fit ok. They do look a bit better, but tbey are not drowning me, I don’t need new clothes. I had thought I’d see more of a drastic difference to be honest. But, it is what it is and I’m very happy with the loss from a health point of view, even if I don’t look that different.

anyway, I think my goal weight is set at 10 stone 8 Or 10 stone 10.

At the moment I don’t know if a) that’s still not enough and I’ll still look much the same at that weight or b) it’s unachievable and I won’t even be able to make it down that low.

So I guess I’m just going to take it as it comes and see what happens. Still on the second lowest dose (0.5) and don’t want to increase. Want to start some exercising and tone up. So that’s the plan and will just see how I go.

Happy weekend!!

N

Hi everyone can anyone recommend a supplier please? Just cancelled juniper as even for we govy the cost is too much , I’m on 1mg if that makes a difference. Happy to receive dm with referral links! Just had my new pen so I’ve a bit of time to sort. I’ve lost 2 kg in 8 weeks 🙈 but at least it’s slowly going which is more than I can achieve alone. Thank you

mumzof4x · 15/11/2025 11:20

Morning all can I join please?
Wegovy arriving this morning so have been following your thread for hints and tips thank you .
I don’t have much to lose but I have significant heart disease and high blood pressure and high cholesterol and fatty liver so it’s an absolute no brainer for me that I shouldn’t be overweight too ! Also Wegovy has quite some research now saying it’s a good one for heart disease.

My cardiologist eventually told me I could go back on HRT but as a result I’ve gained weight and it’s really getting me down.
To be honest we have a ridiculous amount of stress going on at home (daughter has additional needs and very challenging this year / MIL terminal / moving house and massive project on at work) so I literally have no head space for much else and am over eating possibly. Also think I am leaning on wine too much with dinner at night.
Anyway I’m starting tomorrow on 2.5 of Wegovy and went through Chequp. Tbf if was very easy and even though I didn’t pay for next day delivery they posted next day delivery . There’s coaching too and regular bloods. It was expensive though compared to some I think at £103 for 2.5 dose.
Im getting that I need to drink lots of water but what I’m nervous about is feeling too tired or nauseous to continue with my daily exercise. It’s hard enough now to motivate myself but tend to do a couple of short burst of tai chi or a yoga class every day . Walk the dog every day at least 30 mins and swim maybe twice a week.
Diet is good but I clearly eat too much of it !

Hi @mumzof4x

good luck with your journey. It does sound like you have a lot going on at the moment.

did you say you are starting on a high dose?

I started on starting dose of wegocy (0.25). I was a bit nauseous and tired at the start but that soon passed.

I would say that I don’t really have the energy for exercise, but to be honest, I do have a busy / stressful lifestyle and have always felt too tired for exercise.

I do try to walk as much as I can and I have noticed that my knees hurt much less when I’m walking upstairs.

im hoping to do start some strength training to tone up soon.

Can I hop on please.? Started Wegovy middle of October and have been following this thread for a while with interest .I see many similarities with Blonde bombshell and I hope I can do as well as you .
My starting weight 12 st 10 , CW - 12 st 1 lb .I took inj 5 on Thursday and went up to 0.5 mg .
Im 5 ft 3 inches ,61 yrs old.
There doesn’t seem to be so many Wegovy threads, nearly all Mountjaro ,hence me following this one.

Oh yes sorry, I read 2.5 as a higher dose, as opposed to 0.25 starting dose.

I did one pen of 0.25, then i moved on to 0.5. I am just about to start my third pen of 0.5.

I would rather not move up to the higher dose as I don’t want the side effects and don’t want to make it harder to come off them.

so I’m hoping 0.5 will keep working for me.

Best of luck with your first dose 🤞

Hi all, another lurker turned new joiner! I had my first dose on Sunday (0.25). Had to get my mum to do it and close my eyes as i am a total wuss!

I have 2 stone to lose, starting at 12.8.

I have tried other ways but the reality is that i don't have the time for the gym, i love wine, i work long work hours and have two kids on my own so here we are!

Its really helpful to see how others are doing and somewhere to discuss this as i am not telling anyone (i think i am afraid it won't work!).

mumzof4x · 17/11/2025 17:40

@MincedMalbeci started the same day as you and similar story. A resonate with the wine!

blondebombsite13 · 18/11/2025 08:29

Morning all,

having touched 11 stone I’m now back up at 11 1 lb 9 oz

I know it’s just fluctuations and I’m not stressing about it. I do suspect I’d see more progress if I went up to the next dose, but I want this to be a long term change, and I don’t want to be on Wegovy forever, so I’d rather do it on the lowest dose possible. I don’t mind slow and steady, just don’t want it to stop completely or go back up.

im with juniper who I know supposedly have great support available, but I don’t think this is really something anybody can help me with. It has to be my choice.

Injection day is today, I usually do it in the evening. This will be my first dose of third pen of 0.5.

Need to increase my exercise.

@MincedMalbecdont worry about the injections! Honestly the needle is tiny, you don’t even feel it, it’s just into layer of skin. Totally fine!

OP posts:
MincedMalbec · 18/11/2025 12:36

Thanks, i did it on Sunday and it was fine! I, i'm sure like others, am desperate to see a result in the first week but i have to keep telling myself its not that likely. No symptoms really, tiny bit of heartburn perhaps.

I am hoping that reduced wine and eating my dinner earlier will really help too!

@blondebombsite13 you've done really well so far and i agree with the slow is better approach long term
@mumzof4x I am hoping this makes me not want wine Sunday to Thursday (c:

How are people getting on this week? I took my second dose yesterday, early as it will work better this way as mum will still be stabbing me! (I think she enjoyed it yesterday!) I’ve lost 2lbs and happy with that! I did feel very sick in the night last night but I also drank too much wine last night!
