Hi all, still on my hols, but just checking in. Tomorrow is jab and weigh day, but ive decided to pass on the weigh in until I'm home. I've had a full on week of birthday and anniversary celebrations, and don't want to spoil it by knowing how much I've gained. We have another big meal out tomorrow, then I should be able to reel things in a little for the 2nd week, so I'm hoping the damage won't be too bad when I get home.

@PearlsPearl your dress is beautiful, and really suits your figure. I hope it makes you feel a million dollars

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne what a fab idea to do a 'bridging' dose. I've always used the golden dose, but I love the idea of using every last drop. It really doesn't bother me if I go longer than 30 days, so I will definitely be pinching your idea when I get to the end of this pen.

I hope you're all having a good week, onwards and downwards losers 😍

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 04/09/2025 23:19

Hi all - adding to the longer needle sample, my golden doses are with 8mm needles and I’ve never noticed any more effectiveness. This week in particular I’ve been sooo hungry and craving carbs but probably due to my period.

i have had an epiphany this week also. I’ve been posting about terrible stomach pain at the top of my stomach. I’ve been taking all the remedies and living off peppermint tea but it just got worse and worse. I was about to take some peppermint capsules to try that and thought I’d better just google them. Turns out peppermint causes acid reflux! I haven’t had any for 3 days and every day my sore stomach has gradually improved. Can’t believe I caused all that pain with herbal tea!

Sticking to the right herbal tea now for this symptom which is apparently ginger, fennel, chamomile etc!

afaloren · 05/09/2025 08:22

2.5lb off this week. Absolutely delighted as I have just squeaked into the next stone bracket. Yay!

Fffreeeeezing · 05/09/2025 09:19

🤬🤬 2lb on this week which is annoying.

This is not food related however, it's the new creatine supplement I started taking last week, main side effect is that it draws water into muscle cells and apparently initial weight gain is a sign the supplement is working. So in short, I could well have loss weight this week but it's being masked by water retention in my muscles. I can either keep going with the creatine (I'm predominantly taking it on recommendation due to it potentially helping with my knee injury) and my weight should start logically going down again as the water retention can't keep going up I assume, or; I stop taking it and next week I see this weeks real loss and next weeks loss in one go.

Either way I'm annoyed as technically I'm back under a 5st loss!

TragicMuse · 05/09/2025 09:30

Oh that is annoying @Fffreeeeezing! I think I might vote for seeing if your knee improves for a week or two - knees are important…

TragicMuse · 05/09/2025 09:32

I have the sweetest NSV!

My teen hugged me yesterday and said ‘mum, your shoulders are bony. And I can hug all of you’!! Awww 🥰

I’ve also been crossing my legs! ALL THE TIME! Easy peasy! I have actually missed it!

PearlsPearl · 05/09/2025 10:18

I would love to be able to cross my legs, and wear Lucy and Yak clothes without looking like a blob. They're just opening a store in Edinburgh which I'm excited about as I love their style!

Off to the wedding in a minute. 7 hour train journey 😢for someone phobic of public transport. I haven't managed a train in at least a decade but we couldn't cope with a 10 hour drive plus stopping to charge the car. If it wasn't my brother's wedding I wouldn't go! So I just need to pull up my big girl pants, take my diazepam and go for it! 😶

Billybingbong · 05/09/2025 10:37

I'm just getting ready to go for our anniversary celebration meal and am wearing a dress i bought a few months ago for this very occasion. It was too tight then, fits perfectly now. But the best thing is, I had convinced myself it was a size 22, but I've just taken the labels off, and its actually an 18, AND IT FITS!!! 🥰. If I'm brave enough, I might post a picture later.

Lds1 · 05/09/2025 10:43

I have what I will claim as a NSV, the rings that didn't fit, they now fit comfortably on my ring finger. The other day when I put them on I put them on my middle finger by accident, I thought my hand felt weird and it was because my rings had gone on the wrong (but biggest) finger!

Have a wonderful time. It’ll all be worth it when you get there. Well done 💪

Onenotsosmallstep · 05/09/2025 11:53

Different sort of NSV. I’ll applied for 2 jobs this week. I work at a mid-senior management level and (like lots of women) really struggle with imposter syndrome. I know I’m being underpaid where I am but can’t bear the thought of being judged and possibly rejected so just make excuses and stay where I am. Not sure quite how it links to the weight loss but something to do with feeling more in control and a little more confident.

Also weighed in and overall lost 4.5lbs in the last two weeks including a week’s holiday in Italy in there. Think all the walking and eating more than usual possibly gave my metabolism a bit of a boost! Lesson learnt in not weighing in as soon as you get back, it was a 5lb gain on Monday

Dontjumptoconclusions · 05/09/2025 13:47

Loving all the NSVs and the needle length sample size!

I had a loss at the tail end of last week, losing 3lbs to bring me to my lowest weight at 110kg. And since Monday, I've gained 2lbs 😑feeling a bit rubbish but will carry on carrying on. It's not a linear journey so I'm giving my head a wobble.

In other news, I'm on run 5 for C25K!

Something I was thinking about when running - I was wondering if I should be going faster because I was keeping up well with the timings and endurance. And then it hit me that I am so used to struggling/can't breathe/regularly stopping/whole body aching when exercising, that when I'm keeping up, I don't think I'm working hard enough.

No wonder so many slim people lead such active lifestyles. It's enjoyable when you're not struggling all the damn time with an extra 5 stone on your back.

Doggymummar · 05/09/2025 14:49

Some lovely nsvs well done all. I have put away all my Summer clothes for next year feeling quietly confident they will be big, or still fit next year. As opposed to buying bigger each year. I'm evaluating my Winter wardrobe and currently it looks like I might not need to buy anything, I took a delivery of new opaque tights today and I am waiting on some jumper dresses arriving, so I should be good.

TragicMuse · 05/09/2025 14:55

I really need to sort out my wardrobe! I think I have some things to sell.

And lots of nice things to come out of my under-the-bed bags!

What I have been after for a year or so is skirts. I want to know what skirt shapes are ‘in’ and suit me. Might be time for a shopping trip!!

Where can I find which syringes to buy for drawing out the bonus dose? And all the conversion charts for that etc? Im so confused by it all, I think I left all my brain cells at college!

Anychemist will. Have insulin syringes and the cluck counter is on here somewhere as we were discussing it not long ago. I think @SilenceInside posted it so you could search her name.

There have been some previous links to it and I'm sure someone more helpful will share.
Just please buy from a pharmacy and not amazon, so we know the conditions are good.

@Dontjumptoconclusions good point (pardon the pun) I was planning on buying from amazon 😳 I did try searching but managed to get confused!
@Doggymummar thank you for that!

Only a pound off for me this week, but at least it’s heading in the right direction. I bought a pair of skinny jeans in Primark today in a size 16, and not only do they fit, but I think they actually look quite good! 😮

I’m really enjoying wearing jeans again, I stopped when my size 24s were too tight and just lived in leggings instead.
