That's fantastic @PearlsPearl - you look gorgeous! I feel the same, still hate my naked body when I accidentally see it in the mirror, but dropping dress sizes doesn't lie! Congrats!

Janie934 · 04/09/2025 08:26

@PearlsPearl gorgeous dress. You look fantastic.

52soon · 04/09/2025 08:29

@PearlsPearl Wow! your figure looks amazing in that dress.

Yes I feel the same , especially being a size 20 having lost nearly 8 stone, and still weighing very heavy..I'm starting to get embarrassed to talk about it .
One friend tried very hard to get me to tell her what I currently weigh..I'm telling no one any weights ,..
I've had one friend telling me not to loose any more weight, and I should be happy with 8 stone loss and stop now ...same friend really pressing me to tell her my current weight
And another one has taken it upon herself to comment regularly that my clothes are to big ,they always drown me and why am I not buying new ones ...these are new ones ,I just like a baggy look .
I wouldn't dream of commenting on their weight or clothes
It's like loosing weight gives people the green light to say what they think ,when not asked for a comment

It's bizarre how people feel they have the right to be so intrusive isn't? I don't mind the common 'you look well' comment, which we all know is code for 'less fat', but people pushing to know your weight etc like you describe is just wrong! It's a bit like when you're pregnant and random strangers want to touch you. I know our fat is on the outside and obviously people see and notice, but that doesn't mean they're entitled to know everything - you're a person, not a reality TV show! I mean, I don't stare at people and say things like 'have you ever considered slowing down on the Botox?' or 'you've gone a bit overboard on the lip fillers', even if I might think it! Plus, although the new clothes and compliments are nice, for me this is all about internal health too - it's a medical issue, that's what really matters. I think the next time someone comments to me, I'll just say 'thanks - you should see how gorgeous my liver is looking these days!'

Soooo, am I brave enough to charity bag up most of my summer clothes on the basis that by next summer they won’t fit? Decisions decisions…….

Definitely! I sold all mine as soon as I was back from my hols, on the basis that I WILL be a different size by next summer. Go for it!

@eibbed999 and @TragicMuse I hope I have remembered correctly that it is you awaiting the e-surgery pens???

Have you received the email from them? It seems to explain, apologise and promise to keep the price the same for your order.
I hope you get your pens soon.

Mine is coming today, and they kept the £140 price as I'd ordered a while ago.

PearlsPearl · 04/09/2025 08:37

I am absolutely chucking out clothes (charity shop some) when they get too big. Putting all of my hope and faith into ‘never again’.

PositiveAttitude · 04/09/2025 08:40

That dress is gorgeous @PearlsPearl and it shows your waist off lovely!!

Phew @eibbed999.

neveroutofthekitchen · 04/09/2025 09:03

@Autumnflowers2 I hate it when people comment. I wouldn't even tell them how much I have lost. If they ask, I just say something vague like 'Oh, a bit' then I rapidly change the subject eg ask about their holiday.
Worst of all is when someone comments in a group situation and everyone looks and assesses me. Grim!
@PearlsPearl You look great in that dress!

Motnight · 04/09/2025 09:10

@PearlsPearl the dress is gorgeous and you look amazing in it!

Well done to everyone! That dress is so nice for a wedding and from Tesco too!

Weigh in day for me as well. This week I've lost 1.1kg / 2 lb and 6.8 oz. Back to overweight 😁

I will hopefully hit a couple of small targets next week, into the 12st and hit 9.5 stone loss.

Sw 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW 82.6kg / 13 stone, 0 lb and 1.6 oz
Total loss 60.2kg / 9 stone, 6 lb and 11.5 oz
BMI 50.8 / 29.4
To go 22.6kg / 3 stone, 7 lb and 13.2 oz
To get to healthy 12.5kg / 1 stone, 13 lb and 8.9 oz

Doggymummar · 04/09/2025 09:38

Beautiful dress @PearlsPearl you look great in it

WafflingDreamer · 04/09/2025 09:46

I get a lot of comments about stopping now. I'm tall and very pear shaped so I've lost a lot of weight from my face and chest. I also think that being tall means I carry weight very well, no one ever believes I was over 20st when I started. I try not to focus on weight when I talk about my target and have started focusing on dress size. At the moment I think my aim is to comfortably fit into a size 14.

Mine has been despatched too and at the originally agreed price. Panic over @PositiveAttitude!

TragicMuse · 04/09/2025 10:23

My life is the total opposite! Absolutely no one I work with has said a word and the only friends that have already know I’m on MJ. I wonder if it’s just that this groups of people are in the habit of not commenting on people’s bodies?

But 4 stone down I’m surprised I haven’t even had a ‘you look well’ - it’s really getting quite obvious, I’m wearing different clothes and my face is a totally different shape!

I'm tall as well, and when I do tell people how much I weighed (which isn't very often!), they can never believe it because I 'carried it well' - even though my BMI was almost 50 and I was in a size 26! In fact sometimes they basically said they thought I was exaggerating - why I've no idea... people are just weird about this subject!

Same
All gone ,unless I'm happy still wearing them
I'm only buying a couple of things per size as well ,no huge piles of clothes to get overwhelmed with any more

I'm 5' 3" and my BMI was also just over 50 when I started, 21 months ago.
I was in size 24.

Only one person has told me I don't need to lose anymore weight, and that was my chiropodist. He actually told me last month, even though my BMI was still just over 30 at the time.

When I started on monjroro my BMI was 54.2
Today it is 37.9
That is an 8 stone loss
So I've still a good way to go

Autumnflowers2 · 04/09/2025 11:32

Current plan is to stop at a size 16 ,as I'm worried about .loose skin ..I've had 4 pregnancies with very large babies and lots of yo yo dieting,so no way is my skin going to bounce back .
Currently in a size 20 ,and started of last October,my t-shirts were size 34 from yours ..but I do like things baggy on me
So a size 16 ,will do me just fine
