outofofficeagain · 23/08/2025 11:19

Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

Cat lady was also on the June starters thread, but other places she has said she’s been taking it for 4 months, so who knows.

For clarity, I started in June, and initially commented here to reassure some Sept people. I have no codes to share!

There isn't any issue for any experienced users to comment here.... but I noticed that her latest comment is the same as previous ones.

I mean... how many time does she need to tell us that she has a Voy referral code???

Me asking you the question obviously bothered you...! 😂

No it actually doesnt , but i think something as upset you and you want an argument with someone and have chosen me .
So i will now be ignoring such a boring person who needs to get a life

Has everyone took there first jab yet? I picked mine up yesterday but thinking about waiting until Monday to start.

I started on Thursday 2 hours after it was delivered.

Yeah... it was good of you and others to come in to say hello and provide reassurance.

Somethingsnapped · 30/08/2025 17:59

@Absolutelycluelesss I recommend just going for it too. I took my first dose nearly 2 weeks ago on a Monday, knowing that I'd be going on holiday for a couple of days on the Friday. It was perfect for me. My appetite had come back a bit at the weekend, just in time for me to go out for dinner, which I really enjoyed, albeit a smaller dinner than usual!

I was terrified of side effects too. But apart from a day of very mild nausea after the 1st jab, there has been nothing negative. Positive side effects for me have been no more pain in my knee, and improved mood and energy!

Best of luck!

How have I argued...? I asked you a question and you're the one that is getting offended and coming across as angry.
So, I think I've hit the nail on the head... are you desperate for your referral to be used?

ladygin · 30/08/2025 18:52

So here is my two weeks musings! Mainly as a record for myself and in case it helps with anyone else.

After my first three days (being sick and nausea) I have been relatively side effect free. I do get headaches but that is totally down to when I haven’t drunk enough water. And I think I’m beginning to get fatigue but that might also be because I am having an unrelated mental health wobble.

Buying two water bottles of 1 litre capacity and that have the times to drink it by on the side has been one of the best things I’ve done. I have one at home and one at work and it is now part of my routine to fill them up in the morning and drink through the day. It pleases me to see the water going down in the bottle and also is so much easier to remember how much water I have had. 2 empty bottles means I’m at my target and anymore is a bonus.

I miss drinking alcohol at a social setting and feel like a boring person, a couple of glasses of wine defo makes me more fun and easier to be around. But I simply don’t fancy it and can’t bring myself to drink. The positive of this is that I am not drinking!!!!

I haven’t cracked food yet! I don’t like many of the high protein foods (fish / overnight oats / eggs / tofu / Greek yoghurt) so need to work on that. Any suggestions welcome!

My menopause brain has forgotten what weight I was when I started, other than it was in the 20stone range so I don’t know if I have lost anything yet! I must call in at the pharmacy and ask them.

I am very worried about loose skin - I am peri meno, 53 years of age and have been a size 24 for over 29 years so I don’t think my skin will ping back!

The jabs don’t hurt at all. But I can’t quite get myself to push them in and have to get poor ole husband who is needle-phobic to do it.

Ive told pretty much everyone! Im hopeless at keeping anything secret and am hoping the awfulness of telling people I have given up will stop me giving up.

I am concerned about the £££ but like the security of getting the drugs from my local pharmacist so no deals, but when I am more comfertable I think I will shop around.

I don’t understand the stuff about dose splitting and clicks to save money. If anyone wants to explain it I would be grateful.

It’s very weird not having chocolate or sweets (because I simply don’t want them) to cheer me up or give myself a treat. So I do think it’s making me a bit more miserable. Not sure what to do with that realisation.

I think I might move my jab day. Currently it’s Monday. Which means by the weekend it’s worn off a bit and I have found eating cake more likely. Maybe having that lull in suppression mid week would be easier.

And that’s about it!!!! Still glad and proud of myself for having a go and starting the journey xxxxx

WhiteAmaryllis · 30/08/2025 18:53

I'll be having my second jab tomorrow morning and feel much better about it all than I did this time last week.

I was worried about leaving it til Sept to start because I've got (and will be leading part of) INSET on Monday, but absolutely would have been fine throughout based on how I actually felt on the medication.

Glad I've got a headstart and know roughly what to expect throughout the first week back (new classes arrrgh!) and now I also believe I'll be able to make the right choices and not just crave food as a treat during and/or after a tough day.

Well if you are so invested in my finance ..the answer is YES as presently i am spending a quarter of my pension on it to get healthy as well as lose weight .
Which means come winter i cant afford to put heating on when the weather gets colder .
So i either get healthier …or….i sit and get cold .
Now you know why i posted the discount a few times .
I am sure that will please you iw i have answered your intrusive questions.
On that note if we are being picky ….Its not September till tomorrow ‼️
My last comment on this forum as i have never got much support anyway since my first few posts .
The other question …yes i started in June and as this says September…its 4 months.
Not a nice forum , so i wont be on anymore and will keep my journey and finances to myself in future .
But you wanted an answer and now you have one .
68 and having to answer to others …is not on my agenda…EVER ‼️

Well done! It sounds like you've settled into a good routine with the water. I'm similar to you in that I dont like a lot of food, very fussy! When I went shopping last night, I picked out some protein bagels, protein weetabix, protein chocolate mousse and some protein shakes. Its the only way I'm going to get remotely close to hitting a decent amount. Its my first proper day today after jabbing last night. I managed 1032 calories with 84.1g of protein. Was hoping to hit 100g so will try and adjust things as I go!

ladygin · 30/08/2025 20:10

@JustPickleRick Huraaah for another picky eater! I’m not sure i will be able to do protein shakes and similar due to the texture but I am going to give it a go. I did eat and enjoy Arla protein yoghurt so that is good!

It was a ready made one from down the cold aisle with the yoghurts, called 'Pro Mlk'. I think its going to be more of a choccie milkshake! I only bought 2 though just incase 😅 The mousse was lovely though, definitely recommend that. It was a muller one. My fussiness has always made it tricky to diet, hate veg 😅 or fish. The food is ate today will likely be what I eat most days! Not feeling any different at the moment but I guess I'm only 1 day in.

Annie1290 · 30/08/2025 20:44

I’ll join the picky eating gang! Don’t like much veg, small amount of fruit and veg and no eggs (upset my stomach).

JustPickleRick · 30/08/2025 20:49

😂 I've found my people 🙌
Im hoping if I stick to below 1200 calories, I will hopefully lose. No supression today that I'm aware of. No rumbling tummy throughout the day though which is good

Chopsy123 · 30/08/2025 20:54

Jabbed on Friday morning and felt a bit rough for the first 24 hours like you do with a cold, but feeling fairly normal now.

Not eaten very much yesterday but ate a bit more today. Still under 1400 calories as I don’t really fancy eating anything. I’ve also decided I’m going to make a lot more egg based meals to increase my protein intake as that feels do-able.

Georgelassosthemoon · 30/08/2025 21:23

Dipping a toe in tentatively.
I’ve signed up for Wegovy with Juniper - waiting for approval. I’m partly doing this for me as I’ve got osteoarthritis but also to support DD who started last week. She’s had a rough few years health wise and losing some weight would help so I’m funding her as well.
Hers was approved and arrived the next morning so hoping mine isn’t too long.

@Catladyof7 I also read your posts and thought you were just here to push your referral link, so if that isn't your aim, you may wish to look at how you can offer advice without writing that you have a code.

Joining/lurking as started yesterday (Fri).
👋👋
Wanted to say hi 😊 and fingers crossed for all that we get the results we are hoping for!
Have felt really achy and flu like today with a bad headache so couldn't work out if the nausea was headache or jab related.. starting to feel better now though post 24 hrs.

Had been planning for ages to start at the end of August which annoyingly coincided with the price increases but need to lose the weight (5 st if poss).

anon2022anon · 30/08/2025 21:37

W1 day 5 here, and I'm finding this quite strange. I feel like my appetite is when it's ill - my stomach is hungry, I know that it's empty, but my throat and chest doesn't want to eat, they just can't be bothered. I am still getting a fair whack of food noise, I've opened the fridge a fair few times then closed it again. I had a dessert in the fridge that's been talking to me for too long today, but I have stopped at half, but I don't like that it was still calling!

I actually feel fuller today than I did day 1 and 2, which I wasn't expecting.

My only side effects have been a bit of (non smelly) belching, and heartburn. Oh, and retching while brushing teeth, fun! I am tired, but I have also had a virus this week so could be either/both.

NotAdultingToday · 30/08/2025 21:43

Hiii :)
I've felt very similar to you today, achey and tired with a slight headache. Nothing too bad though. I don't feel sick thankfully! I started last night too so it will be interesting to see if anything changes in the next few days for us!
The price rise is annoying, hopefully I can keep on a low dose for as long as possible!
What have you eaten today?

I don't think my dad would understand either 😅 atleast he was nice about it. I don't want to tell anyone (other than my partner), hoping i can explain any weight loss through starting to exercise more and going back to work!

What have you eaten today?

So a soft boiled egg for brunch and a slice of toast, with an apple as a snack for mid afternoon and have some raisin/nut mix for a boost, lots of water and OJ with lemonade mix.
Then veggie meatballs with a tiny amount of spaghetti - definitely smaller portions today and weirdly not hungry but still have had a bit of a fascination with the snacks hubby has been partaking in, but easily ignored and not tempted at all. I also felt like the taste of food was slightly different, almost a bit like having COVID 4 years ago🙈...

To be honest if he hadnt of seen it i probably wouldnt have told him just cause he would just worry but he knows now so all is good.
Im not sure about telling in law side i feel like i might be judged even though they are lovely
I can imagine if told my brother hed be like your an idiot (he says that to me about most things 😂)
But other than the people who know i dont feel like telling anyone else just cause i feel like they dont need to know but maybe if it works miracles like i hope it does im shout from the roof tops 😂

Can I please join you all. I've been thinking about Mounjaro for a long time now and today decided to bite the bullet. So I've filled in the application form thing for my local pharmacy, just waiting on them getting back to me and all being well going in to collect the injection.

Height 5ft
Weight 12.7

Same here! I’ve booked a consultation with the pharmacist at a local chemist but not for a week or so as he’s on holiday! I’ve had an email from them with a form to complete which I plan to do tomorrow - it will take me a while as I need to list every medication that I take and there are a lot of them!

I don’t know how long it will take to actually start the injections following the consultation, might be towards the end of the month.

I have lost over a stone in the last two or three months by fasting 16/8 diet) and eating high protein, low calories foods for just two meals a day. I’ve not experienced “food hunger” so hopefully I’ll be fine on the injections.
