Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

@TwilightAb I'm in the same sort of position as you - slightly more to lose (around 5st) but absolutely finding it so, so much harder to lose weight now. I successfully lost a couple of stone in my early 20s with WeightWatchers, kept it off for 20 years till I had the DC, ever since then I just can't lose it - they are 10 next month Blush

I spoke to my GP yesterday about a pre-existing health condition and asked if he thought taking WLI was good/ advisable with my current medication - he said absolutely, go for it, just be mindful of possible side effects. He confirmed I'm not eligible for WLI on the NHS (I didn't think so, but it would have saved me £££, best to check these things!) but did say that possibly the NHS will review their criteria over the forthcoming years given how useful WLI seem to be. I turn 50 in May 2027 though, I want to be a normal BMI by then!!

Oushk have already approved me for purchasing, however, they now seem to be one of the more expensive providers?! They were about average when I first started looking a couple of months ago - plus their customer service hasn't been great, not exactly worth the extra cost. I'm going to have a look at Juniper instead as they seem more reasonable for the 2.5mg dose, in case anyone has any feedback on them!

I prefer Voy over juniper myself .
I have a code for Voy if you send me a pm for £50 off .
Their chat seems be be 24/7 and very good too.

I have been with them a while.
Juniper doesnt even have a chat , well only a robot that cant answer questions.
I was not impressed at all .

Voy have been excellent all the way through .
Next day delivery and always cold.
Also, will send extra needles and swabs free if you need them

So tonight I am feeling deflated, and a little bit silly. I’ve had my pen sitting in my fridge all this week trying to not freak out about possible side effects. Had convinced myself that ‘tonight was the night’. I’ve been careful with what I’ve eaten today (no heavy carbs etc) and upped my intake of water (which I’m really not very good at). We ended going round to the in-laws and I even stuck to dilute and politely declined an alcoholic beverage! Came home and have discovered the arrival of AF ( I knew it would be at some point this weekend). Have now convinced myself that maybe tonight shouldn’t be the night to begin this journey as I currently have a migraine (something I suffer with when the time of the month comes round) and after reading on one of the MJ support groups that someone has literally sh*t themselves after having a meal 😱😱. It seems I psych myself up and then end up reading some horror story about not being able to leave the bathroom for days and it freaks me out. I work in a school and I’m terrified of something awful happening whilst I’m in class. The 6wks holiday would have been a perfect but my order didn’t arrive in time. For those that have done their 1st jab tonight well done for being brave and beginning your journey. X

Ahh bless you, I understand what you're saying. The thought of the symptoms is what scared me last night as I was about to do the injection. I wish I'd started at the beginning of summer too whilst I've been off for 6 weeks. This morning, I dont feel any different which is making me think I did it wrong or injected it in the wrong site 🫠 so take that as a positive. Not reporting any major symptoms yet! Maybe next friday is the right day?

I’m tempted today….however we’re off on a ‘night out’ next Saturday for a Italian and drinks with friends (first mummy and daddy night out of the year!) and not sure I’ll feel up to it having either just injected for the first time or be due my second one 🙈🙈. So glad you’re feeling okay - no side effects yet? X

welcome everyone. I’ve just had a message to say mine has been dispatched 💥

When did you order it?

I can't say i feel anything at all at the minute! Convinced I've injected it too close to my belly button 😅 we'll see what happens. I'm starting the healthier eating today either way!

Hmm I wonder if tonight might be a good time to do your first dose? Then next Saturday once you're back from your dinner. From what others say, it starts to wear off towards the last couple of days so you may be able to enjoy your meal as normal!

I did mine yesterday and don’t feel any different either. I’ve definitely administered the dose correctly - the pens make it difficult to get this wrong. Apparently effects can kick in when you go up a dose, though.

I totally get the fear about the side effects and am still feeling a bit apprehensive myself!

Thats interesting, maybe it takes a while to kick in! Not that I want any symptoms 😅 I'd just like to know I've done it okay. It looks like a dose has gone and its definitely more than 5cm from my belly button - this was my worry this morning 😅 whacked the tape measure out and it certainly looks more than 5cm! I'll go further across next time!

maz99 · 30/08/2025 13:26

I've felt fine since I had my dose on Thursday... did have a little soreness where I injected for a couple of hours afterwards.

I went to the gym yesterday evening... bike, weight machines & cross trainer... felt a more tired than normal, so went to bed earlier than I usually do.

When I woke up in the early hours of this morning to go loo, mt felt funny... I think I had dry mouth. I had a couple of sips of water and felt fine afterwards.

@Absolutelycluelesss you're always going to have activities / events in your life, so I think you should just bite the bullet and get the first dose over & done with. Let it become part of your normal life. Remember side effects can happen with any medication.
Also, from what I've researched (MN, Facebook groups, reddit) it seems that a lot of people have a reaction when they move up from 2.5mg to 5mg.

Here are the videos I watched:

https://info.mkthealthcare.com/uk-mounjaro-obesity?fupid=39

This one is good too, because it shows the placement of the pen against the tummy. But it is missing the step that the needle needs to be screwed on to the pen

Annie1290 · 30/08/2025 14:14

Well I guess I better join as I’ve just done my first dose, approx 30 mins after it arrived 😂

Ordered with Juniper on Tuesday night and delivery today. Really impressed with them so far, feel free to PM me for a discount code or more info.

Starting weight 14st 9, height 5ft 2. Lost 2 stone 18 months ago but it’s slowly gone back on with some medical problems that got me out of my gym routine and binge eating as the thought of a diet loomed. Hoping the food noise will quiet to view food as fuel, not a treat, and to cut snacking habits I’ve developed at work.

Whichwitchwould · 30/08/2025 14:35

I only had side effects (mild nausea) on day 1 and nothing since this week. If that makes anyone feel better about side effects. None of them are worse than the daily trials of obesity! Haha

I had a sneak peak at the scales this morning (W1D4) and was down 3.25lbs 👀

That's brilliant! Congratuations.

I'm hoping the scales will be kind to me next week. I tend to lose a good bit of water retention at first, but it's been ages since I've seen any significant losses, hence why I'm now on WLI.

Sneaky scales peaks have derailed me in the past, though! It can get so dispiriting when you plateau.

I am the opposite, not impressed with them at all.

They have messed my order about for 3 days now.
Told it was dispatched, no tracking.

Another said it was being processed and was at the chemist ..no tracking.
Two days to respond to emails.

No chat to use except a useless robot ., it useless and does not answer questions properly
Finally today i get another email….not been dispatched yet.🤬
So i got lied to twice
Will be done Monday and should be with me Wednesday .
Once i get this pen i am cancelling .

I am still with Voy and they are heads and shoulders about Juniper .
A proper chat you can use 24/7 .
You can change order dates and doses , and next day delivery always been cold.
Also can have more needles if needed and sent free .

I am sticking with them.
Anyone want a code for £50 off with them, please pm me .

Ah fingers crossed the scales are kind. I sorta like frequent weighing as it is a good reminder of natural fluctuations for me

Have you just started this month like the rest of us or are you just in this thread to promote your Voy referral code?

Because every comment you make you mention your referral code🤔
I think we more than get the point that you have a Voy referral code

I'm direct...
I haven't said that to others because they haven't posted it 4 times like you.
I notice that you haven't answered my question.

But each time you do... you make sure you mention your referral code from Voy.

If you were truly trying to offer advice to help, you wouldn't be mentioning your code each & every time.

FoxRedPuppy · 30/08/2025 17:49

Cat lady was also on the June starters thread, but other places she has said she’s been taking it for 4 months, so who knows.

For clarity, I started in June, and initially commented here to reassure some Sept people. I have no codes to share!

It is... because this thread is about starting at the end of August & September.
I'm hoping that the group can share likeminded experiences along our journey, unlike the Facebook group which is overrun by people to promote their referral codes.

Personally, I hope I can avoid using any of those companies that provide them... it kind of feels like MLM.
