Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

Coffee (I have a Nespresso but a cafetière works just as well) plus Greek yoghurt or kefir cures my constipation.

Well done @Stompythedinosaur!

Scales are not shifting at all after an initial 10lbs loss. They’ve been hovering at 17 st 2, maybe half a pound either way for the last two and a half weeks. Calories definitely well within limits, protein on target although I might increase that (I’m using Nutracheck) and I’m not constipated. However I’ve definitely lost inches from my waist and stomach so I conclude it’s water.

I drink a lot of tea so I’ve been counting that. Target for today is more actual plain water though.
With that, I’m off to IKEA for some Klippits and lunch.

Edited

That is so frustrating! I think you are probably right, if your waist is reducing, something is happening!

Kazzaa46 · 29/09/2025 18:45

@Ihateslugs I feel your pain with constipation, it’s the only side effect I’ve had since starting. Magnesium definitely helps as mentioned. I also am having good success taking two sennokot every other night.

The disadvantage of me being lucky and having few side effects is 2.5mg has worn off quickly. Since W2 D4 I’ve been hungry and cravings have crept in. I’ve been good and managed to resist as I still think it’s working to some extent. I normally jab on a Tuesday night but am tempted to jab a day early tonight. I also am wondering if I jabbed too close to my belly button, I made sure to be 2 fingers away but still getting paranoid about it. I may go for my lower belly for jab 3 so I’m a good distance away.

Stompythedinosaur · 29/09/2025 18:49

Can I ask whether people are using the golden dose? I've just taken my 4th dose and debating if I should be saving the pen and ordering some syringes, or just moving on to my 5 next week?

JustPickleRick · 29/09/2025 19:17

Constipation is not my friend at the moment either. Feel like I need to buy a stool for the bathroom to help 😂🫠
In other news, I had some beans tonight with my bagel and I can't get over how sugary they tasted, they were awful! Not sure if its because i've not eaten anything properly sugary for a while but i dont remember them tasting like that before! 🤮

I did! It was even easier than the pen, tbh!

Also still struggling with the ongoing constipation, though I've had Covid recently and that cleared me out - I lost 1lb overnight 😂Which made it a 3lb loss for last week.

SW: 19st 1
GW1: 13st
CW: 17st 10

I've found 3mg very effective so far this week: I could barely eat at all yesterday. I will see how the week goes, if it isn't holding through, I will do 3.5mg for my next dose I think.

Still swimming regularly - 2km over last week and hoping for 1.5km this week. I can only go two days because of work open evening!

Ihateslugs · 29/09/2025 11:33

Need some suggestions about what to eat to relieve constipation and also to prevent getting it again. Yes, after two episodes of diarrhoea with my first two jabs, my body has been sneaky and gifted me with constipation after jab 3!

I am already drinking around 3 litres of water a day and eating loads of fresh salad so am not sure what to add to my diet now. I did take one dulcolax (sp?) tablet last night but I’m not sure if it worked - not sharing more details of my trip to toilet this morning other than to say it was lengthy and painful! I’ve been looking online at what foods I can eat but not sure which will be the most effective, I’m not keen on taking tablets or weird supplements.

Fruit wise, I do have some kiwis and dried apricots but fresh fruit is a bit limited as we go into the winter, I rely on online orders as my mobility is limited but I’m thinking of popping into my local coop later as their fruit and veg section is near the entrance. I could then buy some apples.

Other than prunes is there anything else that would help - extra points if they are things most people have in their larders!

My research said coffee is good to get things moving but I restrict myself to just one cup a day on the advice of my doctor who monitors my high blood pressure meds.

Loads of people swear by prunes or prune juice. Not really my thing, but it does work. Magnesium is my go to and it helps with sleep too.

Anyone else get instantly bloated as soon as they have something to eat? No matter what it is I’m so bloated and uncomfortable x

I did for the first 10 days. Everything sat funny in my tummy. It has passed now but I’m sure it’ll be back when I up the dose!

Changes after the 1st month...

Wow!! What a difference already. Well done!

SoUncertain · 30/09/2025 03:27

Kazzaa46 · 28/09/2025 12:18

That’s good news you’re doing well on 5mg.
With the water, I bought a 1 litre refillable drinks bottle and keep it with me throughout the day. I tell myself I need to drink 2 of these a day and keeping it in my view seems to work but I do work from home which I appreciate makes things easier.

I’m considering moving to 5mg for month 2 but I’m terrified of side effects after a fairly easy ride with 2.5mg. I need to toss up between a bit of willpower if I stick with 2.5mg or taking the plunge to go higher

I am having the same debate. 2.5mg is working for me but with a tiny bit of willpower involved. But then again, I hope to come off these meds at the end of my weight loss, so willpower is ok to build! I might take it week by week and decide if it's working for me still.

Jab 4 done ✔️

SW: 13 stone 10lbs
CW: 13 stone 2 3/4 lbs
This week’s loss: 2 1/4lbs

Happy with that! I’ve been umming and ah-ing about whether to do the golden dose but seeing how much was left in the pen this morning made me think I will. So off to order some syringes!

I've just done jab 4 and it's pretty shocking how much is left, isn't it??

Chopsy123 · 30/09/2025 07:31

@Stompythedinosaur @SoUncertain

Yes, loads left after the fourth jab, but I found it really easy to use the 1mil insulin syringe to extract the golden dose. Easier than faffing with the clicks, to be honest! Seems a shame to waste any.

OneDayIWillLearn · 30/09/2025 09:37

@Stompythedinosaur @SoUncertain yes I was imagining there would be a few drops but that looked like practically half a pen! I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to order syringes too, just followed a link someone had posted on another board, ordered yesterday and they’re arriving today.

@Chopsy123 glad to hear it’s straightforward!

SoUncertain · 30/09/2025 03:25

Yes... kind of motivating when you don't have big losses.

The app is called MeThreeSixty... the measurements aren't 100% accurate, but at least it you get to see the changes in your body.

Plus, it helps... if you’re like me and can't take a selfie photo to save your life...! 😂

SoUncertain · 30/09/2025 11:17

@maz99 I'm terrible at measuring myself. I never seem to hit the same place twice somehow. I took a photo of myself in week 1 and I think I'll take them every month just to see the difference. My family have said they can see a difference already but not sure if they're just being nice! 😅

outofofficeagain · 30/09/2025 12:00

Ooh that reminds me I need to take new photos tomorrow. And try on the trousers again!

Well done everyone. It's at this point of losing weight I start to wane and get bored, but hopefully the WLI will take the edge of that.

Oh god, so true!! It’s so depressing to think
back over all those diets that petered out after a month or two only for me to gain the weight right back (and all the money and effort expended in the process!!).

I really hope WLI make a difference to my staying power. I find the fact there are still active threads for people who started months ago going on the board encouraging, anyway!!

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 30/09/2025 13:57

Jab 3 for me and DH today. I’ve lost another kg bringing my 2 week total to 4kg. DH has dropped a total of 6.5kg (over a stone). Staying on 2.5mg for now.

Pinkbox · 30/09/2025 16:17

I'm on day 13 and really glad that the feeling of a lump in the throat has disappeared toward the end of this second week. It was becoming unbearable, I was contemplating giving up.

Kazzaa46 · 30/09/2025 22:29

Just done jab 3, still had a bit of a panic attack after injecting. It’s such an involuntary response and I really hope it stops with time.

I think I overprimed the pen today by twisting it too far as liquid shot out the top rather that a couple of drops. Does anyone know how that works with doses, for example will my dose have been smaller from priming too much liquid out? Probably a silly question I know 😆

Stompythedinosaur · 30/09/2025 23:37

@Kazzaa46 it's not a stupid question, but you don't have to worry. There is plenty of additional medication in the pen that's there for priming. You will still have got your full dose.

Stompythedinosaur · 30/09/2025 23:40

@Chopsy123 @SoUncertain thanks for the info, I've ordered some syringes from Amazon so will have a go at extracting the golden dose next Monday! Will report back!

SoUncertain · 01/10/2025 07:36

Feeling very happy today as the scales showed a big jump down. Last week they had gone up and then back down, so didn't really see much loss, but I think it was due to constipation. I've been working on sorting that this week, and it's finally worked! I'm down about a stone since 7th September when I started. Yay!

I'm also finding I have much better endurance when swimming. I usually have to have a breather after a couple of lengths because I am pretty rubbish at regulating my breathing in front crawl, but last night I was able to keep going for 40 mins, only stopping to turn round. 💪

Kazzaa46 · 01/10/2025 08:09

@Stompythedinosaur thank you for putting my mind at rest 🥰

@SoUncertain congratulations, that’s great to hear.

I did my second weigh in today and it’s a 1.5 lb loss.
Week 1: 5.5lb
Week 2: 1.5lb
Total loss: 7lb

I’ve just ordered my second pen and have gone for 5mg. I may use it for a 3.75 dose. Does anyone know if the pen will allow me to administer 5 x doses of 3.75 or will it jam up after 4 doses regardless?
