Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

Just to add, i'm still going to the toilet once a day. I thought I may have had constipation a week or so ago but my body has fallen into going once a day which is fine so not getting fibre from fruit and veg isn't causing issues

Not gonna lie, it all sounds amazing (except Weetabix 😅).

Its been really easy to keep on top of as prep is minimal.

I buy a 1.6kg pack of chicken breast and chop it into chunks. Mix it with 3 sachets of the nandos chicken rub and cook in the air fryer. Once done, I share that between 5 tubs (I divide 1.6kg by 5 tubs then half that for each meal on nutracheck) and freeze! Each tub does me 2 meals. I love the wrap but will probably get sick of it after a few months 😂

JustPickleRick · 10/09/2025 18:40

Anyone after a sweet treat, I highly recommend this! Half the tub is 1 serving. It's so nice 😍

That mousse looks nice.

It's anyone else struggling to eat anywhere near enough? I've had around 900 calories today, am far too full for dinner, and my 2 lb a week weight loss amount, which is really the minimum I want to be averaging at each day, is 1400. I've tried eating little and often, but this IS with little and often.

OneDayIWillLearn · 10/09/2025 20:04

@UnimaginableWindBird only two days in but not so far. I am using full fat versions of everything though and oil in cooking etc. Worth a try?

Georgeismydog · 10/09/2025 21:00

Aldi sell protein granola. Worth buying?

BPrincess · 10/09/2025 21:35

outofofficeagain · 10/09/2025 08:33

I have noticed this too which is bewildering

DH had to remind me there was an uneaten tirimisu in the fridge I’d forgotten about since Saturday. Normally I would have thought about this as soon as I woke up.

Same here. 6 days in now and I realise I haven't had ANY butter, not a scraping. Usually I'd be thinking, 'ooh, just a light slathering on a corn cake won't do any harm...'

@OneDayIWillLearn that's good advice, especially to increase calorie intake

Also, low fat foods are higher in sugar than full fat versions and also contain not so clean ingredients

QueenofLouisiana · 10/09/2025 23:07

Ok, I’ve put in the order, taken the fat photos and verified my identity.

Hoping to get going before I chicken out of injecting myself. I don’t have an issue with needles, but never had to do them myself.

my plan is to research foods etc in the waiting period to get my ideas in place.

Sounds good! I really wouldn't worry about the needle. It's basically just pressing a pen to your stomach - the needle is so tiny and fine you can't feel it at all. Most people have been wondering if they even administered it as it was so easy.

Yes, during the first few days after injecting I struggle to eat enough calories but by Day 5, I’m starting to eat more and reaching 1400 cal limit more easily.

I’m trying to eat little and often to increase the cals in the first few days. My protein intake isn’t great though and I really don’t fancy those protein powder supplements but I’ll have to take another look.

OneDayIWillLearn · 11/09/2025 09:27

Can I ask, people who are on jab 2 or 3, have you found the suppression builds up more week by week?

Curious really, and also already debating with myself whether to do another month on 2.5ml (already ordered and paid for a second 2.5ml and definitely I thought I’d want to stay on 2.5ml as long as possible). Or go up to 5ml and then see how long I can stay on that (as recommended in the official leaflet). Or do something in between like use the 2.5ml pen but jab every 5 days and then go to 5ml.

I’m on day 3 now, I think I do feel some suppression but it’s fairly subtle. No side effects really though so pleased about that!

SoUncertain · 11/09/2025 10:14

Feeling my first very minor negative side effects today (day 3.5). Woke up a bit dizzy so knew I needed to eat something, but it was REALLY hard to force myself to nibble toast and I felt a bit queasy.

Swimming last night was amazing though. I swam so much better than normal! Couldn't really believe it!

I’m on W2D6 and I think I will go up to 5mg pen but will do 3.75mg to start with. I haven’t considered doing 2.5mg with sorter gaps but that’s an idea too.

I’ve tried to keep my calorie intake between 1500-1700 and lost 8lbs during the first week. I haven’t weighed myself this week yet but expecting this to slow down. I do feel hungry between meals, no desire to snack anything sweet though and portion sizes that I eat are smaller than before. I still have food noise in my head and I need will power so hoping that the increased dose would help as this hasn’t changed during the two week period.

Georgelassosthemoon · 11/09/2025 11:26

W1 done and 10lbs down. I will say that last week I weighed later in the day and fully clothed so I’m guessing it’s more like a 4 or 5 lb loss but I'll take that. Haven’t felt any different at all, no suppression, no nausea.
Will do the second jab this afternoon.

I haven't really. Mine has been pretty much the same (low) throughout which I think tells me that I am ready to move up next time. I use the Shotsy app which tells you how much MJ you have in your system at any one time and the figure is going up but haven't noticed any difference really.

Blimey well done. That's a huge loss!

maz99 · 11/09/2025 13:13

Took my 3rd Jab early this morning... no issues or side effects so far to report. Lost 0.8kg - doesn't seem much but it's 1.8lbs... so I'll take that because I really want to avoid loose skin... so 2kg in 2 weeks.

I guess the suppression is sort of working as I couldn't eat much dinner, but I do feel hungry at lunchtime... that may be because I don't always have any breakfast.

Well, I had my consultation at a local pharmacy and I left holding my first pen, a sharps box, needles and swab, plus a really clear leaflet explains how to use it. The pharmacist also gave me a demo on using the pen which I found helpful. I’d had huge reservations and anxieties about using Mounjaro but was totally reassured after my consultation. I prefer collecting the new pens rather than having them delivered as sometimes parcels are left of my front door step when I am out.

I like the idea of being able to phone the pharmacist to discuss any concerns I might have, collect my new pen and have a four weekly chat about moving up the dosage and to keep an eye on my progress.

I was planning to jab today, so I can’t chicken out by more procrastinating, but I remembered that I’m going out for a meal on Saturday which is when any side effects might start so I’m going to leave it until tomorrow now.

I paid £140 for the 2.5 pen which seems a very fair price compared to all other providers but of course there is now discount on offer.

Here’s hoping I get on well with the WLIs and lose weight at a nice steady rate. I’ve been losing 1 to 2 lbs a week through dieting over the last three months but feel I need a boost now as we go into the colder months - don’t want to be tempted to eat warm, stodgy comfort food rather than light summer salads!

Georgelassosthemoon · 11/09/2025 15:16

Second jab done.

UnimaginableWindBird · 11/09/2025 15:17

I'm not sure to weigh in until tomorrow, but I had a sneaky step on the scales this morning and have lost a grand total of....1lb!

I'm sure the losses will start coming soon, but I just wanted to mention it in case anyone else does not have a sudden dramatic weight loss.

@UnimaginableWindBird a loss is a loss so well done! The official leaflet said you can expect weight loss to begin within ‘4-6 weeks of starting treatment’ which left me a bit 😳. Not sure I’ll be happy waiting quite that long even in the name of ‘slow and steady wins the race’!!

Agreed! Well done, @UnimaginableWindBird.

Large losses in the beginning are generally only the body getting rid of water retention. It gets harder after that. A failure to see those losses in the beginning has derailed me in the past, as have long plateaus when I didn't lose anything at all for weeks. These are the times when we have to hang in there.

I'll be very grateful for these supportive threads when that stage comes - and it will. Stay strong!

outofofficeagain · 11/09/2025 18:09

I quite often take a long time to lose weight. It seems the fat literally clings on for dear life, and then lets go.
