Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

Hello

Please can I join? I actually started late in August and have done 3 jabs now. I have lost 11 lbs so far and can see my face is thinner. I do feel hungry but don't particularly want to eat. I've been lucky with side effects, just some mild nausea, a bit tired and a bit cold. I would be due to go up to 5mg after this week. I'm a bit apprehensive but I do feel the effects wearing off a bit so I think I'll give it a go. I can always halve the dose if it feels too much. I'm so hoping that this really works for me. I have a friend who has lost 3.5 stone with no side effects and she looks great.

Hi - joining you guys as I had my first Mounjaro jab today! I’m going through my local pharmacy as they’re weighing me and keeping it secret so I don’t have that horrible number eating me up … they’ll just tell me my loss in kg per month … given myself a pretty big 30kg target in the first 6 months, but I do have a lot to loose so aiming high so even if I get 60-80% there I’ll be happy … that’s my way of thinking anyway! Good luck to all others

Whichwitchwould · 09/09/2025 13:21

Im jabbing tonight again, can't believe I'm 2 weeks in! 5.25lbs W1 and 1.25lbs W2.
I did see 2lbs loss on the scales but fluctuations have taken me back.

Ever so slightly disappointed with week 2 results but over 1lb is a healthy loss. In retrospect I dont think the quality of my food was as good on week 2 as week 1 so will be paying closer attention this week.

Hi everyone,
Complete newbie here 👋 I have been reading endless threads for months and have finally taken the plunge and signed up for Mounjaro via Juniper.
Just waiting for it to be dispatched and I will start straight away.
Obese and miserable, so can’t wait to get started but I am completely bricking it as I have terrible emetophobia. I am hoping to actively manage the side effect's, using the advice from various threads on here.
Good luck everyone, it will be lovely to see your progress xx

I hear you @Sarahzx6 I suffer terribly with emetophobia too.

I've been going really slowly, started very low and now up to 2mg. I haven't had any problems so far other than a bit of constipation and a lot of burping!

Good luck, let me know how you get on.

Anon1231990 · 09/09/2025 14:22

@SoUncertain @maz99 I use French vanilla 360 Extreme from my protien, and also clear collagen from them.

If I'm struggling for protien I make this smoothie.. All in nutribulet /blender... and I can adjust ingredients to make it fit macros I'm aiming for....personally IW
wouldn't go over on the protien powder, and depending on quantities I can go down, so I don't really taste it at all

Hi, I’m going to be taking Wegovy and start my first Jab this evening. I did it with an online pharmacy as the local ones around my area are more expensive to go through. Good luck x

Hi... welcome...

I had the same thought re: Mounjaro vs Wegovy. Also, it was the possibility of less side effects that swayed me.

I've ordered collagen powder which has 12g of protein per serving.

I'm still debating whether to also buy some protein powder to make shakes. I never really like the taste of them. If anyone knows of a nice flavoured one - let me know.

Edited

What collagen powder did you buy as i dont think i get enough protein either ?
Thanks

First jab done! Got so much adrenaline kicking around now though, having done that, that I’m not sure I’m going to be able to distinguish what’s that and what’s actually due to the jab 😂

Anyway, very excited to have finally joined the journey.

maz99 · 09/09/2025 15:39

Thanks @TaffyandTeenyTaffy - funnily enough I was on proteinworks website and after answering their mini questionnaire it recommended the clear whey... I didn't know this was a thing...! As I don't enjoy drinking the 'milky' kind pf protein shakes. I've ordered the MyProitein clear whey variety pack from Amazon to try out all the flavours. I think I'm going to like watermelon...!

Thanks @Elliebearblues and @Anon1231990 for your recommendations

@Catladyof7 I bought the Nutrition Geeks collagen powder (same as @wodantimbercoaster) in the Glow Up bundle (includes vitamin D3+K2 and Biotin with Zinc)

Thank you

After posting this morning that I didn't feel any effect yesterday, I think I can feel it now! I had a pretty small breakfast, and usually I'd be starving shortly thereafter, but I was fine! I had a late lunch, and I didn't feel hungry even then. If it stays like this it will be amazing - eating smaller portions of healthy foods without the gnawing and food noise you usually get on a diet. Quite excited now!

Sounds great, I’m excited and nervous for my jab this evening x

Have taken the plunge and ordered my first WLI - i decided to go for MJ

Just waiting for it to arrive now

outofofficeagain · 09/09/2025 18:33

Welcome @Georgeismydog

Feel like I’ve had a positive day today. Managed to not eat any of the biscuits left in staff kitchen.

pain in side gone so think it as the dog lead!

what I’ve also noticed is that I’m not having those afternoon slumps. Recently I’ve been exhausted by 3pm but now powering through the afternoon

What does a typical day look like food wise?

Are you finding yourself drawn to healthier choices eg vegetable soup rather than a chip butty ?! Or still a conscious decision?

OneDayIWillLearn · 09/09/2025 19:03

Is 5 hours post jab too soon to be feeling effects? Went through to dinner without any urge to snack (very rare for me!) and ate a small dinner and willingly turned down seconds. Might well be placebo effect though!

I'm only a week in. I generally quite healthy food before starting MJ, but then also are a load of crap.

I think people's experiences seem to vary - I still feel hungry between meals, while my friend doesn't. The best way that I put things is my brain is behaving as though I've just had a very nutritious meal, so it's really easy to resist food that would have been overwhelmingly tempting. And at the same time, my body kicks up a fuss if I eat a normal portion of food, or eat something with a lot of fat. So with two things combined, it's very, very easy to make choices that lead to weight loss.

MoreIcedLattePlease · 09/09/2025 19:47

Welcome new September people!

I am also finding protein a struggle. Bought a big tub of My Protein Vimto passionfruit clear whey stuff from Holland and Barrett at the weekend and it's absolutely foul! Not to my taste at all. I'm considering having a go at the hotel chocolat stuff before I decide shakes/drinking protein isn't for me.

I have stocked up on protein yoghurts (great for a grab and go breakfast), eggs and fat free cottage cheese. I batch cook egg muffins and have with protein rich sourdough, which is the most expensive bread I've ever bought. My protein goal would be nearly 250g a day, so I think I'd eat nothing but protein if I actually aimed for that!

I try for 100g. I rarely make it. If anybody finds some shakes/iced coffee/chocolate stuff that isn't vile, please share! And if anyone wants the clear stuff I've bought, feel free to PM and I'll send it to you. It's really not for me at all.

InaneRamblings · 09/09/2025 20:34

I'm W2D2 now, 4lb down in the first week. I'd hoped for a little more, but it's still very decent.
Slightly panicking about protein now - how important is it?? I'm not calorie counting either 😳 mainly because I find it very difficult to do.
I seem to be getting decent appetite suppression - not snacking at all, which is my downfall. Getting lots of tummy rumbling so I'm obviously hungry but it's like my body doesn't care 😂

outofofficeagain · 09/09/2025 20:46

I'm the same @InaneRamblings , I'm not calorie counting or protein counting, just trying to not eat shit.

I am definitely snacking less but I'm still finding it an effort and requires willpower. I'm still feeling hungry but not going insane because of it. I do feel like things will be more noticeable with a 5mg dose so I'm interested to see what happens to those who are a few weeks ahead.

So night I ate a normal sized dinner and then really fancied some pudding. Have a spoonful of icecream but did not eat the whole tub so that's definitely progress.

I'm drinking plenty of water too, which is helping. I put protein powder in my yoghurt in the morning which does make it a bit claggy but still tastes OK.

@MoreIcedLattePlease I bought the sample pack of clear whey from MyProtein to try out the 10 different flavours... I'm hoping I will like at least one of them.

From what I've read, some people seem to feel it fairly quickly and others might not even get an effect at 2.5 mg MJ. I did feel hungry as normal the past couple of days, but today (from about 40 hours after the jab ish?), I have finally begun to feel it! Exciting! Snacking is my downfall too, so if I can get rid of that I'd be dropping so much weight

I'm only on day 3, but I've been planning my meals in advance so I don't have to decide on the spot. I have not been drawn to the chocolate and snacks in the cupboard though, which is VERY unusual for me. The real test will be next time something stressful happens, as that is when I always turn to chocolate as a crutch.

Today I had green yoghurt and berries for breakfast, tuna and salad leaves sandwich and Clementine for lunch, and then chicken breast, carrots and asparagus for tea. Would have added a carb but it was a big chicken breast! I've had my usual loads of water and coffee with milk. Apple for my post-swim snack.

Would love to hear everyone else's food for the day too!

I'm going to look into protein/collagen tonight!
