Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

When I bought mine online, I had to pay extra for a 100 pack of needles and a sharps box. I assumed this was normal?

It was supposed to come with 4 needles but they have been missed out. I carefully checked the box.

They included the sharps box. I’m off to the chemist.

First weigh in day for me and I have lost 3lb. It's a good start, but I was probably hoping for a pound or two more than that having read some of the previous threads on here. However, other than feeling more tired than usual and a bit of a headache at the start of the week, I haven't felt any different and don't think I have had any kind of food suppression feelings. I also started my period yesterday and have been away visiting my mum for the last few days, so there has been food and 'treats' galore I have had to resist including a big family take away, so not that bad I guess! I will do my second injection later and see how it goes next week. I am going to try and get in a bit more movement this week and log everything to check I am not overeating.

Well done on your loss and managing to resist the cakes! I've had similar side effects to you (headache and tiredness) since I started on Friday but nothing else. I realised yesterday though that my tummy isn't rumbling between meals anymore. Have you noticed that? I'm taking that as suppression! I've not had anything else, no sickness, no being put off food, no feeling too full to eat. Thank i might need some dulcolax today though as I seem to have the opposite toileting problem to what I was expecting 😅
I use nutracheck to track my calories and its really user friendly, I'd definitely recommend, seems to be cheaper than myfitnesspal too.

Chopsy123 · 01/09/2025 09:27

@outofofficeagain I just checked my invoice and I was charged an extra £32 to cover 1 box of 100 needles, a Sharps box and a box of sterile wipes.

When ordering the MJ, it gave the impression that purchasing these items was standard for the first order.

I guess it’s another opportunity for the Pharmacy to make extra money. 🙁

On the plus side, they released their new prices last week and the 2.5mg has only gone up by £24 so I guess that’s something to be thankful for. I’m hoping to stay on 2.5mg for as long as possible.

Maybe your period hormones are interfering with it a bit?

I used to be ravenous just before and during my period and ate ridiculous amounts and then back to normal by about day 5 of my period.

You might find that this week is a lot better for you. Good luck! 🤞

Hi All

Just posting to wish everyone luck. I injected yesterday evening, for the first time after having the pen for months and being too worried about the actual injection and also side effects.

Kicking myself I didn't start sooner, I did the usual of abandoning all restraint when due to start a diet and I am bigger than when I first ordered. Injection completely painless and so far no side effects, other than maybe a very slight headache.

Feeling hopefull that this is going to be the kick-start to improving my overall wellbeing/self care 🙌

outofofficeagain · 01/09/2025 10:28

Well done for getting in there! I know how you feel, it is anxious.

I'm hoping drinking plenty of water is key to help with the headaches.

Thank you, and thanks for starting the thread, it will definitely be great to have people at the same stage to check in with rather than feeling we are going it alone

Agree on the water, I am usually terrible with hydration, so I am on a mission for 2L minimum today, I managed 1.5L yesterday so even that is an improvement

🙌

Good luck to everyone who is starting today!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 01/09/2025 12:03

Well I have just done my first jab - and really hoping that this is going to work for me. I am currently 13st 12lb and aiming to try and lose 2 stone to start with. I have lots of health issues including an underactive thyroid (which has added to the weight gain/struggle to lose it) and ulcerative colitis (which has been a bit of a barrier to me actually getting the WLIs until fairly recently). I have also started a 3-month plan with an online personal trainer I have worked with - and had some success - before. (High protein/low-ish carb and lots of strength training, 10k steps and minimum 2 litres of water) Good luck everyone - looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

maz99 · 01/09/2025 12:27

The weekend has been ok... no real symptoms, just feeling tired earlier than normal. I also struggled to eat breakfast as I don't usually eat it - Saturday I had brunch at 1pm and yesterday around 3pm (seeded sourdough toast, 2 scrambled eggs, beans & streaky bacon = 830 calories - my daily allowance is 1828 calories). I think I have food suppression, but I'm not sure because I've been naturally fasting for more than a year.

I think I've only ever had food noise when I was on a very low calorie diet.

@Chopsy123 who is your provider? Because £32 for a box of needles, Sharps box and sterile wipes is a bit of a rip off as you can buy them for around £5 each.

A few days ago I resorted to setting up a reminder on my phone to drink water... it's helped me reach 2.5l... but now I'm peeing like a racehorse...!

Still waiting for approval from Juniper. Grr. Getting impatient. I know it’s been the weekend but I signed up Friday lunchtime. DD signed up the week before and got approval and delivery within 24 hours and she has a much more complicated medical history.

outofofficeagain · 01/09/2025 13:39

I ordered a second pen from MedExpress on Saturday, because I was worried about delays and wanted to sneak another one in before price rises, and it has just been dispatched, delivery is tomorrow.

I signed up on Thursday I think. Had a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with pictures on Saturday, yesterday they got me online and sent a schedule, but no actual meds yet, though (the app says Order confirmed, but not yet on its way)

I wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy .
Their contact takes forever, the chat is useless, cant see if you order has been dispatched or anything.
Plus they dont read emails properly either.
I told them i would cancel as 5 days later i still have had no dispatch email.
Then they informed me , it had been dispatched today and …they had ask for it to go back to them and i would get a refund !!!
Been a nightmare all the way through for me anyway …and….i havent got a thing from them despite being, lied to many times about dispatch .
So now …no pen .
Fuming 🤬

Georgelassosthemoon · 01/09/2025 15:29

It’s just been approved @BPrincess. Apparently I should get an email to confirm but nothing yet.

Jackrabbit22 · 01/09/2025 15:42

Just injected my first dose. Problem free and didn't even feel it, maybe because of the size of my stomach!

GW 10 stone 11

Oh MAN!!! So frustrated!!

I signed up with Oushk on 20/08. Finished all their verification stuff 29/08. Order scheduled for today originally. When I looked on Friday it said delivery on 03/09. Just logged in and now it’s saying delivery 09/09!!!!! What the actual!? No email update from them or anything.

I can’t wait that long, the suspense is killing me. I guess I’ll keep the order in their system seeing as it’s old prices but I need to get an order in elsewhere it seems as what’s to stop them just delaying and delaying.

So who’s quick to sign up to and get an order from?

Try Ashcroft Pharmacy... I signed up with them last week Tuesday around 4pm and it was delivered Thursday around 12pm.

I paid £120 for 2.5mg... just checked they've increased their price to £149

outofofficeagain · 01/09/2025 16:10

I've found MedExpress really quick. I've sent you a DM.

I also emailed them about my missing syringes and they emailed back within a couple of hours.

@OneDayIWillLearn I've sent you a DM

I'm 5'8" and aiming for 12 stone too! I was also the same starting weight as you, but I lost a little before starting MJ with intermittent fasting, so my MJ starting weight was 15s 10lbs.
