Morning! Such a beautiful day, autumn has definitely arrived, looking forward to my dog walk later. Before then, final interview!

@BlueLimes 2 stone 8 is fabulous, if you’re anything like me, your weight may have gone up further without mj too. Look at some old photos, you’ll see a huge difference! Don’t beat yourself up about not getting straight back on it post holiday either, maybe take small steps eg upping your water, then upping the protein etc. you can do it!!

No Christmas party invites here yet but you’ve reminded me I have a black velvet blazer that hasn’t fitted me for years, poss too big now, if so on Vinted she goes ready for a smaller one!

Super exciting @BreezyPeer, I’ll def need a cushion please blue limes!

@cloudjumper make the most of your last couple of weeks off!

@CurlsandCurves I had a couple of wooshes but mostly pretty steady. It was my first 10mg pen I definitely lost the most on though.

Have a great day losers!

Jins · 23/09/2025 08:59

Pre- holiday weigh in for accountability comes in at 8st 13.4. It’s remarkable how stable my weight has been for the last few weeks but I’m definitely getting smaller. New underwear required when I get back - nothing worse than loose knicker legs. 🤣

DH still not packed and is currently watching TV. Not my problem - I’m focusing on waking up tomorrow to a sunny 28 degree day, knowing that I’ll have everything I need.

I hated work Xmas parties and avoided them as much as possible. So my advice on clothes wouldn’t be helpful. 🤣. I usually drag out the leopard print top and black trousers.

Have a great day all - I’ll report in from Malta

BlueLimes · 23/09/2025 09:04

@CurlsandCurves @2025istheyeari you’re so right. I was called tiny twice at the weekend - I just don’t see it but no way would I be 9 stone 8 without the jabs.
I think I’m hormonal but no period for 3 months, so definitely well into peri now. I’ve dragged myself to the gym.
I’m a day off so going to do a protein food shop afterwards and try to focus again.

Have a great holiday @Jins

Thanks all for totally getting it.

myladyjane · 23/09/2025 09:25

@CurlsandCurves yes I whoosh. Weirdly goes with side effects too. Big side effects, big whoosh. I seem to lose between 5lb and half a stone per pen and it tends to be one week whoosh, two weeks a lb ish and one week nothing. Sort of aligns to periods too.

sadly no side effects this week so I am expecting no loss. Last week was my lb, week before my whoosh.

I bought a green velvet blazer, which I'm quite enjoying...also packed up my wardrobe and have a bag to sell on Vinted. Thanks for the tips - I'm going to attempt it when OH goes away for the weekend in 2 weeks.

I've experienced side effects 💩 after going out on Saturday night, the day after doing my 2.5mg jab. I expect having had 11 days between jabs, my levels were pretty low. Very strange - but one more jab to go, and I'm off.

I'm in awe of all those sewing - not my skills at all.

@DGonMJ if you are still losing, are you not tempted to come off completely?

I’m definitely watching those who are coming off MJ with interest. And excited for this next stage in your journey!

For me, I’d like to be on 1.25mg so I could get the anti-inflammatory benefits and insulin sensitivity (parents are pre-diabetic and T2) and maintain. My blood sugar level was still rising (top of normal) when I had my bloods done in Feb, and I’d been on MJ for 6 weeks. I’ll have them done again in Jan/Feb and see if there’s any change.
Also, I’ve been in this situation before where I’ve lost a lot of weight (from building muscle) and it’s gone back on slowly over the years. The difference being it got so much harder to even lose 3kg, assuming because I’m peri.
I think if I do end up coming off entirely I’m going to have to look into the best diet for regulating blood sugars. My preference is a Mediterranean diet, lots of healthy fats, protein and complex carbs. Low carb doesn’t seem to work for me.

Jins · 23/09/2025 10:27

Quick update as I’m sure you’re all concerned.

DH now perched on a ladder painting waterproofing compound on the side wall of the house. He’s put his wash bag and toothbrush in his case so at least he’ll be clean. 🤷‍♀️

Leaving for the airport in 90 minutes so plenty of time yet.

mince3point14159265 · 23/09/2025 10:30

Would also like a cushion for the judging bench @BreezyPeer ; good luck with the "conversations"! 😜

@BlueLimes you've done fantastically well and just imagine how knackered you'd be feeling carrying around that small toddler for 9 months. Life's much easier without a toddler on our hips! Agree with what Breezy said!

Hope you have a fab holiday @Jins ✈️🏖️

Somebody young enough needs to buy this for a christmas party, with or without the matching skirt, depending on how brave you're feeling! Saw it irl and it's lovely. The colour is beautiful and it just screams FUN! PARTY TIME! 🥳😂

Just seen your DH's progress report @Jins 😱🤣

HeidiLite · 23/09/2025 12:48

@Jinsomg it's such a man thing to start with random jobs when you're about to leave or have guests arriving!

HeidiLite · 23/09/2025 12:53

I'm thinking velvet as well. Wore a blue velvet dress last year in size L. Will be a lot more fun to wear something in XS this year!

Thelittlestranger · 23/09/2025 13:23

@Jins well done for staying calm. My OH doesn't do this, but he does do the 'I've got just myself ready' before leaving - when the kids, dogs and house also need readying before we leave to go out...

Rather like that fringe top - I bought a black camisole from Jigsaw on the weekend. It shows my arms - and I didn't mind. Huge win there.

Jins · 23/09/2025 13:25

We are at the airport, checked in and through security. I have no idea what is in his case but I’m certain he won’t have everything he needs.

Outdoor task finished at 11.45. On the road at 12.05. A record of procrastination I think

2025istheyeari · 23/09/2025 14:04

@Jins 🤣🤣🤣🤣🫣. Like you say, at least he’ll be clean!!!

@mince3point14159265 love that ( I’m not young enough!) it’s amazing!

myladyjane · 23/09/2025 19:09

@Jins did he have an exit poo? Apparently this is a thing (dh googled it for his totally disbelieving wife and daughters). Men need to mark their territory you know.

have a wonderful time though

Polkadotdash · 23/09/2025 19:27

Oh my God @Jins I could not deal with that last minute DIY stress from DH. Well done on staying calm. My DH is total opposite though and does my head in. He starts stressing from about 36 hours before we leave. He’d sleep on top of his case the night before if he could. It’s worse for coming home. Means we ‘lose’ the last day of any holiday as he will be packed a full day before checkout. Whereas I’m in my pjs etc until 5 mins before checkout.

Polkadotdash · 23/09/2025 19:29

Plus I have a terrible thing with velvet. I absolutely love it, but it bulks me up soooo much I look huge in it. Same with corduroy. And chunky knits. Basically all the lovely autumn/winter fabrics. I look enormous. I’ve no idea why. Even when I was an 8 stone teenager it was the same.

Jins · 23/09/2025 20:48

We’ve arrived, it’s 25 degrees and I’ve had a drink that tasted like it may have been cleaning fluid.

Fantastic view from the balcony.

DGonMJ · 23/09/2025 21:00

@Jins what a day 😂
Can’t believe you made it. Enjoy your ‘delicious’ cocktail 🍹 and the sunshine tomorrow 🌞

Excited for all the Christmas partywear chat. We have a Canadian Friendsgiving to go to next month. Even if the dress code is Mountie meets Knitwear I’m looking forward to being able to wear whatever I like without feeling frumpy.

Today I have eaten a lot, so I’m expecting a gain on the scales tomorrow which will mean I’ll jab. If not, I’ll leave it another day or so.

BreezyPeer · 23/09/2025 21:08

@Jins what a lovely nightscape. I love a balcony 😍

Polkadotdash · 23/09/2025 23:16

I’ve started watching the Netflix series on The Biggest Loser (I think it’s called Fit for TV). It’s a definite recommend to watch as it explores the themes of how people are perceived if they are overweight, how it’s ok to use them for entertainment, to be made fun of, to show them as morally weak and to expect to see them treated harshly in order to lose weight. The programme was awful (I never watched it when it was on). Really exploitative.
It’s something I truly think is part of the current negative reaction to people using WLI. That there is a moral objection to overweight people losing weight by ‘cheating’ when they should have to suffer and toil in order to atone for getting fat in the first place.

PenelopePoweringOn · 24/09/2025 05:48

Amazing view Jins. I'm imagining that you will be very well dressed today and your DH, well who knows 😄, he might surprise you.

The partywear chat sent me on a search, nothing much there yet is there. I ordered a silk velvet wide legged jumpsuit thing last year which I really loved. The biggest size available was an 18. I got it on 😂but I looked like a badly constructed peice of homemade sushi, lumpy with a too small peice of nori wrapped around it. I would love to find something like that again this year.

Very pleased to report that I am less than 13 stone for the first time in a very long time this morning, 12st 13lb. Thank the lord 🙏for a bit of downward movement on the scales.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

BlueLimes · 24/09/2025 06:54

Yay @PenelopePoweringOn

We’re a bit too early for the party wear, I think will be all go from October.m and s normally has very reasonable velvet items and Boden

On train to London, there are 2 women who get on the stop after me and wherever I sit, they seem to home in and they chat the entire way 😡

Its unbearable.

PenelopePoweringOn · 24/09/2025 07:17

Thank you @BlueLimes .

Your journey sounds very tedious. I commuted by train into London for a long time in the days of the Sony Walkman 🥳 👵🏻Noise cancelling headphones might be your friend.

2025istheyeari · 24/09/2025 07:19

that looks gorgeous Jins, have the best time!

@PenelopePoweringOn 🎉🎉🎉🎉, yippee, amazing news, always brilliant breaking the next stone bracket!!

Canadian Friendsgiving sounds fab @DGonMJ .

@Polkadotdash are you all better now?

@BlueLimes noise cancelling headphones are your friend!! Hope not too unbearable!!

Long walk with a friend today, no interviews woohoo! Had a final one yesterday and the other one I’m at final stage not until next Wednesday. The one yesterday want someone to start pdq, so hoping if I get it there’s a delay in letting me know so I, best case have a choice! They’re both brilliant roles, v different, the con of 1 is being in London 3 days a week but many upsides ( including complete new workwear wardrobe shopping!!)! The con of the other is it’s a much smaller co than I’m used to, in growth mode and slightly worried it’ll mean I have to do more doing. Hopefully a wonderful conundrum to have!! And I won’t not get either!!

The Zara lace trimmed slip skirt arrived and it’s lovely, decided to keep the black and it’s a medium, in Zara! I could possible even have got away with a small which is unfathomable!

Happy hump day!

DGonMJ · 24/09/2025 07:20

No gain on the scale today since last Weds pre-jab weigh in, but a gain since Sunday. I’m going to take this as a solid ‘maintain’ and hold off jabbing again till Friday. So I’m closer to the weekend.
