Yay well done @meatyryvita and @BreezyPeer fab news on the weight loss!
Loving the photo shoot chat too, I’d also like to be considered for the judging panel please, I’ve worked in HR all my life and seen so many things that I’ll never be shocked again, pretty good judge of character and happy to ask all the awkward questions 😂. Sorry to hear about your friend, hope tomorrow goes as well as these things can.

@meatyryvita thanks for update on wegovy, so pleased you’ve had no side effects!

@PenelopePoweringOn brilliant news on the consulting, so pleased for you. How’s the house move going?

@HeidiLite nice! Not sure on your colours, but I’d say neutrals- cream, camel, brown, navy ?

@discov bloody moths! Hope you manage to fix it, sounds lovely! Loving the Vinted buys! All saints leather jacket was always the dream here too!! Good luck on finding one. my dream is a Maxmara coat but I looked yesterday and omg they’re ludicrously expensive so that’s not happening!!!

more interview prep here, another final interview tomorrow ( although the ‘final’ interview I had yesterday turned out not to be, potentially 2 more 🫣). Happy Thursday and v jealous of your 30 degree weekend HeidiLite!

HeidiLite · 18/09/2025 09:48

@2025istheyeari I was quite shocked many years ago when a candidate had put a bikini photo on their CV. No I was not working at a strip club, but a law firm. I hear things have not improved the recent years and younger people now have their parents applying and also calling the managers to complain about how their darlings are treated at work.

discov · 18/09/2025 10:07

@Jins I’ve had a lifetime habit of putting my phone on my lap because my thighs were always more than hefty enough to hold it, and now it just slips right through the middle! It’s difficult to get used to 😄

Polkadotdash · 18/09/2025 10:38

@BreezyPeer my tip for photos is triangles. Use your arms to make a triangle shape - either hands on hips or in pockets or crossed over. And one shoulder slightly closer to the camera. I don’t know why but it works. I’m sure there are loads of Tik Toks about it.

Aimingdown · 18/09/2025 11:57

🎉 Healthy weight milestone 🎉
Finally 61.3kg this week which puts me a tiny shade under 25 BMI!

SW 14/1/25 80
CW 61.3
GW1 60
now thinking maybe I want to get to 56 or 57 to be nearer the middle of healthy BMI with a bit of headroom, but will have to see how it looks as I’m not young and don’t want to look too much like a deflated balloon.

@BreezyPeer sorry about your friend, hope the day is OK and as positive as it can be.
@discov ugh. And moths always go for things you really like don’t they? I know extinction of species is fundamentally a bad thing but really, wouldn’t clothes moths be a good candidate??

Well done all losers, maintainers, hang-on-in-theres, plateauers and NSVers. We are all getting there 💪

BreezyPeer · 18/09/2025 13:14

@HeidiLite I really need the laughing emoji 🤣🤣🤣
I might try some of those photo 📸 ideas! Like you say . . . Works for men xxx

BreezyPeer · 18/09/2025 13:19

@Polkadotdash I'm here for that sort of triangle 🔺️ photo 📸 advice! Leaving in a minute to the photo shoot location (pub garden!) Xx

PenelopePoweringOn · 18/09/2025 14:42

My XH used a photo with the kids cropped out on OLD. 😂

Thanks for asking @2025istheyeari my buyers are dragging their heels, haven’t committed any cash, searches/survey etc yet. I’ve given them until the end of today, tedious but I am trying to be 🧘‍♀️ like about it. I’ll relist it tomorrow if they don’t move today.

Sorry to hear about your friend too @BreezyPeer .

I’ve just eaten three huge figs for breakfast/lunch. Not sure if all M&S’s are the same but my local one had punnets of six figs for £1.75 yesterday. I bought four 😎. Hopefully 🤞 I’ll save on movicol. 😂.

I ordered a faux fur long jacket, last one, fairly reduced. I love it but I think it’s too big 😭. Will try it on again later but I don’t think it is the right size.

MJalltheway · 18/09/2025 14:59

So much to catch up on again!
I'm having a bit of a burgundy moment as well @HeidiLite and I've just bought this shirt https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc146102624 and this jumper https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc145949751
to go with my burgundy trousers.
Must dash to fit in an exercise session before school pickup, will try and catch h up later!

PenelopePoweringOn · 18/09/2025 15:07

@meatyryvita sorry I meant to reply to your dosage post. Wow is that literally half the price of MJ at that dose?

meatyryvita · 18/09/2025 15:10

PenelopePoweringOn · 18/09/2025 15:07

@meatyryvita sorry I meant to reply to your dosage post. Wow is that literally half the price of MJ at that dose?

@PenelopePoweringOn yes, so I'm paying £99 for it (according to some charts I've seen, it's the proper Wegovy equivalent to a 7.5MG or 10MG MJ dose). I am with SheMed, so they are held to £99 per pen for a year.

OP posts:
PenelopePoweringOn · 18/09/2025 15:24

That’s amazing @meatyryvita. I’ll probably switch if I need to. I did 5.625 yesterday because I had 45 clicks left in a 7.5mg pen. I’ll use a syringe next time and then have two pens in the fridge.

myladyjane · 18/09/2025 17:01

S’up.

well done losers especially @Aimingdown and her healthy weight.

can I ask a maintainer question pls. This week I ended up with a slightly lower dose (can’t count my clicks). The last 3 days I’ve been properly hungry and for the first time in months I picked! I did reign myself back quickly and whilst I went a bit over my calories not by masses so in itself meh, no biggy. But I worried slightly re maintenance because picking was a huge issue for me that mj turned off and if the picking urge came back at 8ish mg, that doesn’t feel great re titrating down. I was hoping I could come down to 5mg or 3.75 or something. Am I over thinking? I get I’ll eat more but I dont want to pick!

myladyjane · 18/09/2025 17:07

So my actual question was whether you kept the good effects (less sweet tooth, less picking for me) as you titrated down or if they lessened too

cloudjumper · 18/09/2025 17:41

Hello all 👋🏻 Bit frustrated - I’m still plateauing, nothing is moving is any direction, ugh. I’m wondering if my body is now desperately trying to cling to the weight because admittedly, my food intake is so erratic at the moment - I’m really struggling to eat anything, or drink enough. So effectively in starvation mode, I reckon… which is far from ideal! I’m considering dropping down to 7.5 mg again, even before my pen is finished. Got 1 usual dose plus the golden dose left in my current pen. It just seems weird to consider eating more, so that I can lose weight! 🫣

In other news, I’ve got a new job! Signed the contract, I start on 6 October. So glad this interviewing rigmarole is over. Now I can properly enjoy being a lady of leisure 😁

discov · 18/09/2025 17:45

@myladyjane I’m only a month in to titrating down so hopefully someone a bit further along can answer. I have found I don’t feel loads of hunger but my sugar cravings are back with a vengeance 😭

DGonMJ · 18/09/2025 19:35

@Aimingdown yay for reaching healthy - here’s a medal 🏅

@PenelopePoweringOn might have to pop to M&S - love a roasted fig with honey and feta.

@discov we had the heating on yesterday, so DS1 had his AC unit on as a result 🙄
Sounds like you’re doing a fab job of maintaining. You might find you accidentally lose a couple more pounds. But knowing you’ve got that spare means you won’t be worried about it.

Congrats @cloudjumper on your new job! Must be a relief. I do believe that having a few days of eating a bit more can lull your body into a false sense of security that ‘food is coming’ so it stops trying to store energy.

@HeidiLite I’m also having to sit on my hands regarding clothes purchases. My impulse control is down on this lower dose, but also I’m struggling to get to know my new capsule wardrobe and it’s causing a lot of indecision in the morning. What goes with what? Do I need another pair of barrel leg jeans but in dark navy denim? Can I wear all black again today? I think I need to do a weekend of wearing different combinations of the stuff I have and taking photos so I have a record. And then deciding what’s missing.

@myladyjane as soon as I started lowering the dose (from 5 to 4mg) found myself picking. I had to be careful about the snacks I had to hand so that if I was going to ‘pick’ I’d be nibbling on healthier foods (fruit, nuts, veg sticks, oat cakes) instead of the biscuits on offer. I make sure meals are high in protein so that I didn’t find myself picking because I’m actually hungry.
I had a couple of weeks of more sugar cravings - I baked my own cakes and tarts so that at least it was homemade. Found that I was still eating smaller portions. I titrated down from 4 to 3.33 while on holiday I didn’t deny myself anything, and found that I would eat one big sweet thing a day (big jammy/creamy scone) for a couple of days then have a few days where I didn’t fancy anything sweet - or a spoonful of someone else’s dessert was enough. Despite eating more sweet stuff and high fat foods on a lower dose I continued to lose weight. I think it’s because my hormones are much more balanced at this weight and therefore even a low dose of MJ has a big effect on regulating my insulin.
The move down to 2.5mg coupled with a space of 10 days has meant more cravings and increased appetite again. I’m trying not to feel bad about feeling hungry at the end of the day at work - especially if I’m leaving at 7pm that’s a perfectly reasonable time to feel hungry (I just have to avoid all the fast food as I walk from the office to the tube - barely registered them while on higher doses). But it’s made me realise how lovely it’s been all year not feeling ravenous everytime I leave the office. So I’m trying to pack a bigger high protein lunch, and more healthy snacks, and remember to drink more water. Bigger appetite is a good thing because I do need to eat more. But it’s hard to shake the guilt of eating when hungry, because that’s what got me overweight in the first place.

mince3point14159265 · 18/09/2025 22:06

Congrats on the new job @cloudjumper . Sorry, no advice on the other problem though. It does sound like your body thinks it's gone into starvation mode. Maybe when you start working again it'll be a bit of a shake up that might move things again? 🤷‍♀️

Fantastic news on the healthy weight milestone @Aimingdown , well done! 🎉

@HeidiLite I think we're all being subliminally fed the same feed as I've also been loving all the burgundy stuff. M&S have just sent an email with a big focus on that colour. Would you consider head to toe burgundy with those trousers like this picture? Otherwise a fluffy cream sweater would look good, or perhaps a cream silk shirt.

PenelopePoweringOn · 18/09/2025 22:14

@cloudjumper I’m thrilled for you, well done, enjoy the next few weeks now. Job hunting is relentless.

Well friends, I’m on my phone, low tolerance threshold for scrolling up so I’ll read tomorrow but I wanted to tell you that I had a raft of blood tests this week. All normal, and, for the first time since I embarked on my treatment regime my hba1c is normal, 37. It hasn’t been there since BC. I’m so happy with that, it shows such a big improvement in my health doesn’t it.

mince3point14159265 · 18/09/2025 23:25

That's wonderful news @PenelopePoweringOn , must be such a relief. 🥰

HeidiLite · 19/09/2025 05:17

congratulations @PenelopePoweringOn ! You've done a wonderful thing for your health.

@mince3point14159265 oh yes thanks for the idea - happy to be head to toe, but I think a cream top is exactly what I was looking for.

@cloudjumper woohoo, how exciting! I'm still waiting to hear back about next round of interviews, if any - they did warn me it will take a long time, but I am getting a little impatient here..

BreezyPeer · 19/09/2025 06:52

Morning 🌄 losers!
@MJalltheway i bought some burgandy trousers yesterday! There is something in the air 😀
@PenelopePoweringOn well done on the fabulous test results!
@cloudjumper well done on the job! Enjoy your last few 'lady of leisure' weeks.
@Polkadotdash @HeidiLite the photos went well (I think) I am going to sign up properly (with payment) later on today (after the funeral)
It was fun to spend a couple of hours on an Autumn afternoon in a pub garden chatting about dating and relationships. I really needed that grounding experience yesterday to rely on for the awful day I have coming. DS has a job in both services so it will be a really difficult day for him too.
I'm expecting high emotions and lots of tears ( need to remember the packets of tissues)
Sorry to everyone I've missed. We really are a supportive, chatty bunch!
Have a good day everyone xx

discov · 19/09/2025 08:37

@cloudjumper huge congrats on the new job!

@PenelopePoweringOn that is fantastic re the blood tests. MJ has been life changing for many people when it comes to health. You must be thrilled!

@BreezyPeer hope it goes as well as it can do for you today ❤️

discov · 19/09/2025 08:42

I have woken up as my lowest weight ever, exactly 8st 8lbs. Which means I am just a measly 1lb away from my official goal weight, AND I have tipped over 50lbs lost in total! Which isn’t bad considering I have stopped actively trying to lose weight.

@DGonMJ I think you are right that I might end up accidentally losing a bit more whilst I work out how to maintain!

I have also been drawn to burgundy items this season but I know it’s very ‘in’ right now. I have a long sleeve burgundy top on its way. I think I need to curb my Vinted obsession as I keep wanting to buy random things which don’t really make sense for my wardrobe (suspiciously eyes the leather platform heeled ankle boots I bought last night, despite spending 99% of my life in dog walking gear 👀).

DGonMJ · 19/09/2025 08:48

Excellent news on the blood tests @PenelopePoweringOn that really is amazing

@BreezyPeer I hope today brings back wonderful memories of your friend, as hard as it will be to say goodbye. 💐

I’ve accepted this week is a tired one for me, and I will ‘get back on it’ this weekend. I did have a burst of energy last weekend and achieved a lot. I think I’ve ovulated this week, tell-tale signs of bloating. I’ve also gained again - over 1kg since last weekend, 0.45kg since Wednesday. Trying to remember that I wanted this, it’s acceptable to be 21.7 BMI. I may go back to a 7 day gap if next Weds is even higher!
