Me too @HeidiLite . I love that you love your photos. My kids commented that there was hardly any photos of me in recent years last year and I’ve been trying to do better even though I hate them.

@LillethCrane my rate of loss has been really slow. If I lose a stone by Christmas I’ll be happy 😊 so I’ll be here to keep you company.

@DGonMJ sounds like you’ve been very organised! I’ve ordered celery and watercress to make soup in my next shop. Neither of my DC will eat squash, pumpkin or sweet potato so I don’t tend to cook with it as I have to eat it all myself but I would love lentil and pumpkin soup!

Zempy · 14/09/2025 17:24

I’m avoiding my favourite winter coat! It’s a beautiful Jaeger cashmere number 😬

If it’s too big I will just carry on wearing it!!

Take it to a good tailors and get it taken in. That’s what I’m going to do with my favourites - they’ll then fit even better than before.

@PenelopePoweringOn that was one of the reasons I went for MJ - there are no photos of me in recent years, I was deleting them all, as they were just so unflattering. Clearly an issue with cameras 😁
Now the next issue is to get DH to actually take photos of me and kids..

BreezyPeer · 15/09/2025 07:28

Good 🌄 morning losers!
I have weighed in this morning (I know, I know) and I've actually reached my interim goal of 11st7lb! I very much doubt it will maintain until Weigh Day on Thursday but at least I've seen it 😀
All the photos of me from the past couple of years are with DS and as much as possible, I am hiding behind him.
Some personal news is that, after a decade of living as a solo parent I am venturing in to the world of online dating (oh no!) I am meeting some friends on Thursday afternoon so they can take some photos of me for the profile. I am nervous about this, feels very exposing, but I'm not sure I want to be single for ever and DS is growing up now.

I hope I get some decent shots!
Hope everyone has a good day xx

meatyryvita · 15/09/2025 07:36

@BreezyPeer I’m so happy for you!!’ Congratulations! I know you’ve had a frustrating few weeks but wow - plateau well and truly dispensed with!

Best of luck with the OLD!

Gosh what a transformative experience MJ has been. In addition to weight loss our little group is taking positive action to improve career and personal lives as well! Very best of luck @BreezyPeer and well done on seeing the magic number.

i feel virussy today. I’d put it down to allergies yesterday but the telltale aches have emerged today. Brilliant timing tbf as I fly to Malta a week tomorrow so should be over it by then.

@Zempy the one item that can stand being oversized is a coat. Get yourself some 80s inspo and style it out.

Here’s to the start of a successful week all!

BlueLimes · 15/09/2025 08:54

Yay @BreezyPeer and I hope you’ll be updating the thread about your dates !
Your are absolutely right @Jins - it’s been a catalyst.

so I’ve dug out my thermal vests, freezing here. It’s glamour all the way through winter - not.

Although occasional hot flush during the night, not sure if peri or mj!

HeidiLite · 15/09/2025 08:56

ooh @BreezyPeer good luck! And be picky - there will be plenty to choose from in the world of online dating, so if the vibe is not quite right or there are some reddish flags, just throw them back.
Also congrats on your interim goal, feels great, doesn't it?

HeidiLite · 15/09/2025 09:01

@Jins healing wishes so you can go enjoy the holiday.

BreezyPeer · 15/09/2025 09:13

@meatyryvita @BlueLimes @Jins @HeidiLite thank you for the good vibes!!
MJ has definitely been transformative for me. Made me realise I have a whole life ahead of me and given me the confidence and energy to explore some new options ✨️
I will, of course, keep you all up to date!

I can see this being the new focus of the thread once we’re all at goal!

2025istheyeari · 15/09/2025 10:17

Yay🎉🎉🎉 @BreezyPeer amazing news, well done!!! Good luck with online dating too, how exciting!! How lucky anyone will be to have you, make sure you have lots of fun!

I do have photos, normally hiding behind people but there is evidence! We always do a photo calendar and the Oct photo is one of me, thank goodness I’m away for some of it🤣 Much happier having pics taken now though!!

MJ has definitely transformed my life, made me so much happier, more energy and determined to make this stick, it’s so lovely to read everyone’s stories and successes, love being on this journey with you virtual friends in my phone!

@Jins feel better soon, still lurgyish here as well, bit fed up of it now, time for it to bugger off!!!

Have a great week everyone!

Zempy · 15/09/2025 11:16

Good luck @BreezyPeer. Please do keep us updated <<nosy!!>>

Get well soon @Jins.

I weighed in at 8:12 today which is very exciting. However, with my various birthday celebrations coming up, I know I will gain. But that is OK. I am not scared, I know I can lose it again in time for my autumn holiday to Malta. Then I will have to lose again in November getting ready for Christmas. That is normal life and “maintenance” though I guess.

HeidiLite · 15/09/2025 11:20

A good friend of mine has always been very slim, and she maintaned it successfully by having one full fasting day every time she had eaten more than usual over the weekend or during a big celebration. Maybe that could help me as well.
The challenge pre-MJ of course was that I started out with a plan on Monday morning, but ate the entire fridge (and its contents) Monday evening..

Jins · 15/09/2025 13:13

@Zempy enjoy Malta! It’s the in place for the formerly chubby woman this autumn I believe 🤣. I’m starting to count the days now - desperate for a bit of sunshine.

Weird NSV to report. As I’ve mentioned before I don’t possess a coat but all your talk of coats made me have a look at the relevant rail in a charity shop this morning. I spotted a Jack Wolfskin in a very useful looking brown/black on a hanger marked S. Tried it on, perfect fit so at £8 I bought it. I’ve just been checking pockets etc before washing it and it’s a child’s coat! 164cm so age 13-14! So in the same week I’ve fitted nicely into a women’s size 16 and a child’s age 13 and if that doesn’t demonstrate the frustration of sizing I don’t know what does.

DGonMJ · 15/09/2025 13:49

yay @BreezyPeer am also here for the dating stories.

So I dug out my Hobbs coat and it fits beautifully - last worn comfortably when DS2 was in a buggy.

So today is my first Monday after missing my usual Sunday jab. I’ve eaten high volume but low cal food - big bowl of yoghurt and overnight chia for breakfast, and a big bowl of the pumpkin & lentil soup for lunch. Meeting my cousin for dinner tonight. Looking forward to a heavier mid-week weigh in which I never ever thought I’d say 😂

MJalltheway · 15/09/2025 15:41

Oh, exciting @BreezyPeer, good luck!
Laughing at the clothing size randomness @Jins , it's completely bonkers!
DS's big birthday today, I have two adult children now! 😭 not even seen him yet, made sure to get a cuddle from him last night though. He's so giant, he dwarfs me now (and I'm 5'10"!) hard to believe he was my littlest baby (7lb 4!)
Also the hardest work as a baby, he was never full! Very prescient for teenage years!

myladyjane · 15/09/2025 15:54

@BreezyPeer so here for it all! Well done as well.

love a coat chat. I actually have a wool and cashmere wrap coat in chocolate brown (so v this season) that I got from vinted last year as an absolute steel. It was an 18 but I felt a bit trussed up in it. Now I’m two sizes smaller it feels good - because it’s a belted wrap i can make it that bit smaller. Only issue it’s v smart and I am not….

my tweedy blazer arrived and it’s not. It fits quite well but I may give to dd to re sell as I can’t see myself in it.

Jins · 15/09/2025 16:13

Is Chocolate brown in this season?????

Have I inadvertently purchased an item of clothing in an ‘in’ colour?

Bloody hell!!!!

Hopefully the style is so deeply unfashionable that it won’t look like I’m trying too hard

HeidiLite · 15/09/2025 17:28

Chocolate brown is all the rage!

Happy birthday, smallest @MJalltheway offspring!

@DGonMJ I'm pretty sure I missed my jab last week - simply can't remember if I took it, so am assuming not. Also curious to see if I get hungrier. Nothing yet, but trying to eat mindfully.
I'm cooking this for dinner, really like autumn vegetables:

PenelopePoweringOn · 15/09/2025 17:37

I went into a dept store today, chocolate and plum everywhere! I saw a lovely fake fur coat, short cut fur. I couldn’t bring myself to spend the cash as I’m hoping to lose more weight but it was very tempting!

Amazing stuff @BreezyPeer 🤩, I hope it goes well.

@Jins I hope you feel better soon.

@HeidiLite as a slim until 51 age person, I never ate everything on my plate. I stopped eating at ⅔ max, virtually always. That definitely changed with medication.

HeidiLite · 15/09/2025 18:19

Oooh I need to try something now.
I saw a woman last year wearing a light blue faux fur coat. She looked amazing, like a snow princess, so I went out hunting for something similar.

Unsurprisingly, I looked like the big blue guy from Monsters. Inc.

But maybe now..?

2025istheyeari · 15/09/2025 18:35

I have a leopard skin faux fur short jacket I bought from Boden a few years ago which I love! I popped it on Vinted as a bit big but when I started getting offers I took it off as can’t bear to part with it! It is a bit big but looks ok so I’m keeping it!
I’ve taken a chance and ordered a chocolate brown slip skirt with lace and matching top from Zara today, had to order both in 2 sizes. I hope one fits! God knows when I’ll wear it but I love them! Off on a girlie weekend to Tbilisi in a few weeks, maybe they can come with me then if they fit 🤞🏻.

PenelopePoweringOn · 15/09/2025 18:35

The brand I liked was RinoPelle @HeidiLite . I’ve looked online and the coat I loved isn’t there, it was twice the price of the buttoned up faux fur on the website so I’m guessing it would be quite different and also in a very very dark green. I’ll have a look when I’m in Sweden later in the year as they don’t ship to 🇬🇧. I bet you’ll have the pick of some great brands in Europe.

It sent me down a rabbit hole, Hobbs have got a short plum one I like too (much cheaper), not sure about the pile direction thing that’s going on though and the other one was more functional/less going out. But I think a faux fur coat could be on the horizon.

BlueLimes · 15/09/2025 18:47

Oh I love a fake fur jacket but don’t think I could pull off !!

like that plum is in.
