I love a tweedy blazer @myladyjane . I have got a few that I either need to get taken in or sell.

I'm having a quiet hour before I meet DC at 4pm with a book and a cup of tea, blissful.

Farmeci have emailed me several times @Jins regarding re-ordering, I might email them and say I need to delay for a month. I don't feel that I need more than two unopened pens in the fridge and I've got those plus the one I am using.

LillethCrane · 14/09/2025 06:12

Hello all, I’m posting in this thread for the first time- I haven’t posted since the last one as I haven’t had much to contribute! However, I would really appreciate some advice if I may?

I started at 15st, and I’m now down to 10st 4lb, but my goal weight is 9st so I have another 1st 4lb to go. I have been on the 10mg for the last 3 months and it’s been my favourite dose so far because I’ve had no side effects, suppression has been good but I’ve still been able to enjoy my food. The trouble is, in those three months I’ve only lost 1 stone.

I have a couple more 10mg pens in the fridge as I really thought this was the dose for me, but I’m wondering if I should move up… I’ve started to get pretty hungry about half way through the week, I’m thinking about food more and the weight loss is so slow now.

Has anyone else tried the 12.5? How was it for you? I really thought I’d finish my journey by titrating down after I finished the next couple of pens, but I’m nowhere near goal yet…

Thanks for any advice and well done to those who are already at goal!

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 06:39

early morning all, am on the train back home. Was really lovely to see the people - was a small reunion - we try to meet up every year, so it's very casual, whoever can make it, comes.

They were of course impressed with weight loss, but more so when I casually flexed my biceps :D So yes, very proud of you, @BreezyPeer , keep it up!

Had some time for shopping as well. Got a pair of lovely burgundy trousers, sailor style, you know the ones with row on buttons on each side. Always wanted some, but previously I always ordered this type and sent them back, as they are really not flattering if you have a big belly. Well, they look really good now!

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 06:42

oh and for the first time, I don't remember if I jabbed this week! I moved the day a few weeks ago due to travelling and now I'm confused. I think not...but can't be sure. Do not want to risk a double dose so will just wait til my regular jab day next week.

MJalltheway · 14/09/2025 07:26

Hi @LillethCrane , 1 stone in 3 months sounds absolutely fine to me. In fact I just checked my weight loss and in the last 3 months (also on 10mg) I've lost 1 stone 4 lbs and think I'm doing really well! Don't forget that a steady loss of 1 lb a week which is what is recommended comes out at about 14lbs over 3 months which is exactly 1 stone.
Are you tracking your loss in an app? I fine looking back at a nice steady chart of progression can be more helpful than bare numbers.
If you are still losing on 10mg, I'd stick with it and accept it will take however long it takes to reach goal. If you're not really losing any more though, you could either get a 12.5mg pen or just dose more from the 10mg pens you have. You'd need a dose of 0.75mg or 75 clicks to get 12.5 from a 10 pen.

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 07:49

Stop the press! A man who is not overweight has discovered the secret, we don't need WLI any more - all you need to do is to skip this bag of crisps and bottle of coke! Wow!

MJalltheway · 14/09/2025 08:17

I actually agree with his premise @HeidiLite, he's arguing for a reduction in sugar and salt and additives in everyday food to make the overall food environment healthier. Whether it's possible to make mass-processed food 'healthy' in itself, we could and should be moving it along the road towards healthier at least. I am convinced that over-consumption of UPFs is in part responsible for the huge increase in obesity - along many other factors of course!
He even says that those who are already obese (ie, eligible for WLI) need WLI to quickly lose weight but need a healthier food environment afterwards. I don't disagree with any of that.

Had a nice night out yesterday, bit tricky avoiding dancing with dodgy foot but managed ok. Still no news on an X-ray, but at this rate I'll probably just do without now anyway. I've been strapping my foot up and it's improved quite a bit so I'll just carry on like this until it's healed.
slightly up on weight this morning but to be expected after a couple of ciders last night!

BreezyPeer · 14/09/2025 08:29

Morning 🌄 losers!
@HeidiLite your reunion sounds lovely 😍 I can't read that article but I don't think I need to! 🤣🤣 I know what it will say.
@LillethCrane what is your goal in terms of BMI? And your age? https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/
It could be that your target is too low? I think that is what has happened with me. I met my goal to get to top end of BMI and my new goal was in the middle of the BMI. My loss has really slowed down. How do you feel at the weight you are now? What do photos say? What clothes size are you? All of these things can give you a different way to measure.
But, if you want to lose more, I agree with @MJalltheway try taking 12.5 from a 10mg pen ( or even 11 or 11.5) it might give your weight loss a bit of a boost. You can always come back down again if it doesn't suit.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
I am going to see a friend this morning, and I have some work to do this afternoon so a quiet day. Also, expecting a work man to finish off some outside jobs that have been going on for months and I just need it finished 😫 but . . . He isn't here yet . . . So . . .

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 08:32

@MJalltheway I don't disagree with that part and yes it is concerning that many people, especially kids, live almost exclusively on UPF. I took offence to the sentence that all you need to lose weight is to cut out that pack of crisps (can't open the article any more due to paywall).
Of course in theory 'just eat a little less' should work, but first it's really not so easy to see that you're consistently in calorie deficit for years and years, and in addition to that, bodies adapt to lower calorie intake, as the Biggest Loser study showed.

Zempy · 14/09/2025 08:47

@LillethCrane I am on 12.5 but am starting to titrate down now for maintenance. I didn’t get bad side effects and my suppression was good.

@HeidiLite. You might recall me talking about some trousers that are too big but I love and wanted to keep? They are that sailor style with the front buttons! Mine are Jasper Conran but lots of brands make them.

Like you, I always wanted some but knew they would draw attention to my pouch. In my head I can pretend I am Katherine Hepburn wearing them!

Vinting like mad. Made lots of sales yesterday. Happy Sunday Lads!!

Jins · 14/09/2025 09:15

Oof. A gain to report but the fondue last night is entirely to blame. It’s sitting heavily at the moment. Delicious though.

Interesting article although I’m not sure it adds much to any side of the discussion. Personally I’m sick of hearing about calories as the be all and end all of weight loss. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but we are living, breathing organisms not bomb calorimeters and it very much matters where those calories come from as to whether we lose weight or not. I’ll gain weight on 800 of the wrong calories and lose well on 1500 of the right ones. In theory I agree with a lot of what he says but I couldn’t have cut the coke and bag of crisps out because I wasn’t eating them in the first place.

Off for a wander round some historic sights today as part of our local heritage festival. DH was keen for me to go along to a particular talk during the week and report back but that won’t be happening. “I don’t need to go - I have a degree in it” proved a very effective end to the discussion. 🤣

@LillethCrane i know the feeling! Personally I’d probably stick on 10mg if it suits you and you are still losing. I may be biased as my decision to go up a dose to try to get to goal triggered my first experience of side effects which have taken a while to settle. The other option is to stick on 10mg but take it every 5/6 days. I found varying the time between doses to be quite effective.

PenelopePoweringOn · 14/09/2025 10:03

Hi everyone, home today. I bet I’ve gained too @Jins. I reckon I’ve eaten about 1200 cals a day, been adding it up in my head. Flashback to the swanky dining, it was probably good for us on WLI. One of my courses was something like truffle gnocchi with hen of the woods. I was starving as I’d not eaten since breakfast, skipped the breads etc, as, you know, I’m dieting. Five pieces of gnocchi chaps 🤣.

I’ve chosen the non carby option at all times, other than ½-1 piece of brown toast with breakfast, it will be interesting to see what my scales say in the morning.

I agree @Jins , nothing awful to cut out here either. If I ate a daily intake of a mere 900 cals of gorgeous bread and cheese regularly I would remain overweight.

I think I might inject tomorrow, I didn’t do it until Wednesday or Thursday last week but I’d like to get it back to Saturday by the end of the month.

PenelopePoweringOn · 14/09/2025 10:54

I’ve read the article now, it’s just another one of them really isn’t it. I think we all know about reducing sugar and UPFs, still life is a balance isn’t it and the fact is that for many families UPFS are all they can afford to eat in terms of both time and money.

Oh and I realise that minuscule very posh gnocchi is potentially carby 🤣, but I was happy to eat it as it wasn’t bread or pasta … actually it was very little of anything in reality.

@BreezyPeer that smart BMI calculator advises me that a 10lb loss would be ok for me at my age which is very interesting. I think I’m planning on, well sincerely hoping to, lose another 14-18lbs.

DGonMJ · 14/09/2025 10:58

Morning all, sounds like a few of you had a good night out last night! I really enjoyed seeing my old friends. I drank no-alcohol beer, ate two helpings of the food my friend had cooked, plus a sample from each of the two dessert trays. I feel like I put on a good show of social eating and drinking, I definitely don’t get the same intense hit of pleasure from food but I do enjoy participating.

Maintenance update
Jab day and weigh in is 57.758kg.
Which is a 0.3kg loss compared to last week, despite the beer, blondies, and heavy weights PT session yesterday (and also massively reduced step count working from home this week due to tube strike). I know 0.3kg doesn’t sound like a lot but since hitting my goal at the end May I’ve lost another 4kg whilst titrating down.
BMI is currently 21.2 - middle of my healthy range of 18.5-23, but I think I’m really at the lower end of my preferred body fat…metabolism prefers to utilise the fat from my face and neck rather than my thighs. Renpho scales have me at an ‘acceptable’ 29.2% BF but I know that fat is all in the lower half, as my visceral fat is 5 (down from 11 in January).
I’m debating whether to wait to jab in 3 days, or jab less than 2.5mg today and keep it to the same day each week. Anyway, diet goal for this week is to increase protein and fibre. In good news, I’ve been less dizzy now I’ve upped my carbs.

Today’s productivity mission is to batch cook a couple of different dinners to ease up the evenings this week.

BlueLimes · 14/09/2025 11:19

@BreezyPeer your link is so interesting, apparently I’ve no health benefits to losing more weight. Although I think my fat percentage is too high, I’ll keep going !

Nice to hear of lovely weekends had.

I’m thinking about Autumn wardrobe. I’ll have quite a few things for vibted but also several charity bags.

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 11:52

I think I will drag the winter clothes out of storage and start vinting. I have an absolute ton and most won't fit any more.

myladyjane · 14/09/2025 13:14

@BreezyPeer another who finds that link interesting. My ‘zen’ weight (bmi 27ish) comes out as fine which is reassuring. That’s about a stone away as well so maybe within my grasp. But fitness though! If only there was an equivalent that would do the same for me exercise wise!

for some reason the site has gone weird for me. Struggling to see/reply but hope everyone having good days

PenelopePoweringOn · 14/09/2025 14:59

@myladyjane , I thought of myself, you, @Polkadotdash (without scrolling up so 🙏 if I’ve misremembered) and our other slower losers when I clicked on that smart BMI calculator. I thought it was quite heartening and an achievable target.

There’s also the height/vs waist being half of it measurement. I’m already there as a pear shaped woman. Another health target that we can look to as an achievement as we are all different.

Polkadotdash · 14/09/2025 15:53

Well, if you want to suprise yourself with your losses, I can heartily recommend trying on your winter coats from last year. I dug all mine out today and tried them on. My god, some of them are like when ET dresses up as a little old lady on me now!! I can’t believe I was struggling to fasten some of them up last winter. It has made me feel positive about the direction I’m going in.

PenelopePoweringOn · 14/09/2025 17:00

I bought a new coat last winter @Polkadotdash , I love it and haven’t brought myself to try it on yet this year. I’m ok for coats, I’ve got some really lovely coats in everything from a size 8 to an 18. I’m looking forward to being able to wear two in particular, a burgundy slim fit gloverall duffle and my didriksons parka, both in a 14.

I forgot to report that I wore and 🥳 zipped up my size 14 wax jacket at the weekend (It must be a roomy size 14 unlike the two I really want to be able to wear). I remember buying it on the way up. I couldn’t have the bottom part of the zip fastened up but at the time I didn’t know I’d need round two and would gain even more weight. I was absolutely in denial about needing to buy a size 16 and actually bought a coat I couldn’t fasten up properly. 😬

2025istheyeari · 14/09/2025 17:18

@LillethCrane I’m also on 10mg and have lost 16 pounds in the last 3 months, as others have said, it equates to just over a pound a week and as I’m nearing goal I’m all good with that! This is my last 10mg pen before I move down to 7.5, I’m trying to shift an extra 4 pounds but if I don’t then so be it. If you have stopped losing, like others have said, try 12.5mg and see if that gives you a boost? Good luck, and remember how far you’ve come!

@HeidiLite ooh your reunion sounds fab and get you with your biceps!! I need to do more (any!) weights! Hopefully I can get to the gym this week now trains are back to normal.

@BreezyPeer thanks for the bmi link, I’m apparently ok but I def know I need to do something about fat, still have that.

@jins worth a gain for fondue- yum!

great work on the coats @PenelopePoweringOn and @Polkadotdash . I’ve not tried mine but they will be too big, I’m trying to buy a specific one on Vinted but no luck so far!!

It’s been a miserable day here today, so hunkering down!

Zempy · 14/09/2025 17:24

I’m avoiding my favourite winter coat! It’s a beautiful Jaeger cashmere number 😬

If it’s too big I will just carry on wearing it!!

HeidiLite · 14/09/2025 18:02

Got a box of winter clothes out. Tried some of them on, just to see. It's a... mixed experience.
Yes, it's great I'm now so much slimmer. But on the other hand, apparently I was quite large indeed. Why didn't I see it? Some of my favourite items that I wore when I considered myself reasonably slim - they are like tents on me. Brain is a funny thing.

But on happier news, people are sharing the reunion photos and I have to say that I look quite pretty!

LillethCrane · 14/09/2025 18:39

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my message- it’s reassuring to hear that 14lb in 3 months is still ok in terms of a loss. I guess if I carry ok like that I could meet my target before the end of the year… I’ll do another month on 10mg and really track everything and if needed, increase to 12.5 from my 10 pen the month afterwards and see what happens. Onwards and downwards!

DGonMJ · 14/09/2025 19:00

Glad you’re pleased with the reunion pics @HeidiLite!

I have one winter coat I kept that didn’t fit, a turquoise wool coat from Hobbs. This has inspired me to dig it out! I’ve got a massive cream puffer from Fabletics that I think will still be cosy even if oversized.

So I’ve decided to hold off from jabbing today. Based on the fact I’ve lost a bit and suppression has been a bit high today, I think it’s sensible to wait till Wednesday and do 2.5mg. This will be the first time I’ve properly extended a dose. Will be interesting to see if I get a sudden surge of appetite like when I went down from 5 to 4mg.

In the meantime I’ve made a big vat of red wine bolognese and then a lentil & pumpkin soup to portion up for the week. Plus DH has made a fish pie for tonight.
