Just popping in quickly to declare victory 🏡. I’m instructing a surveyor 😊. Fingers crossed for a smooth sale/purchase path.

In other news, still constipated, still haven’t 💉 but less stomach pain.

That’s amazing news @PenelopePoweringOn I’m so pleased you’ve found the one!!
hope the stomach clears soon 😳

PenelopePoweringOn · 08/09/2025 13:39

Thank you 🙏. I started to line up survey prices on Saturday, £560 difference in cost range for the same RICS prescribed process 😲, so I’ve pushed the button on the cheapest one, I presume the extra £500 might give me a copy printed in full colour on 100gpsm paper or something similar but can’t imagine what else!

Thelittlestranger · 08/09/2025 14:38

Congratulations @PenelopePoweringOn !

Jab today and weigh in showed me 2.5lbs up from my lowest, but still at 9stone on the Renpho, so happy with that. I exercised every day last week so wouldn't be surprised if my muscles are holding onto water. Shotsy showed me at 1.89mg levels after 7 days, so I jabbed 2.5mg and didn't even get into bonus dose - so that's another two weeks in this pen which surprised me.

Im a lover of brunch. Today I have walked the dogs and run to and from my PT session (upper body) and have just eaten lunch. Leftover shepherds pie (barely a glance of mash) with peas. Stuffed and about 350 cals.

2025istheyeari · 08/09/2025 14:40

Hiya!

Checking back in. I’ve had a few days of eating what I fancied as you know, culminating in a hangover today 🫣. I barely drink but decided last night to have a few glasses of champagne and one of red wine which wasn’t a good idea. Today is a bit of a write off too, hey ho!! I didn’t jab on Saturday, will jab tomorrow and get back to eating normally!

So annoying, the tube strike is affecting our local trains so I’ve had to cancel all my aqua, gym and swimming sessions this week! At least the weather’s lovely so long dog walks await.

thanks for sharing the article @BreezyPeer, how exciting! Will watch with interest!

@PenelopePoweringOn blimey, that’s ridiculous!!! Hope it all goes smoothly for you, so exciting. Also hope you hear about the roles soon 🤞🏻.

I don’t tend to have breakfast either, a hangover from Fast800, and like others have said, a good way of keeping calories in check. I usually track what I’m eating in My Fitness Pal. I’ve been struggling a bit with lunch inspiration so looking forward to making soups, I love soup and they’re so healthy!

The wetsuit I ordered arrived and is too small!! I also ordered a changing robe in vgc from Vinted, it’s come stained, covered in dog hair and it smells. It’s going back 😳. Love Vinted but it doesn’t always work out does it!!

DGonMJ · 08/09/2025 15:14

@PenelopePoweringOn excellent news 🏡

HeidiLite · 08/09/2025 18:33

@2025istheyeari that's ao annoying! I bought a quite pricey dress described as new without tags, it was clearly worn and noticeably dirty. I mean really, you could at least wash it if you want to claim it's never worn.

Jins · 09/09/2025 07:35

Morning Losers!

eww @ the Vinted deliveries of doom. Congrats on moving things along so quickly @PenelopePoweringOn - completely appropriate user name.

An email from Oushk dropped yesterday announcing a 24 hr sale which you can use to stack your discount codes so I’ve ordered a 5mg to arrive in November. The website crashed pretty quickly 🤣. Prices aren’t that exciting, the big discounts are on the higher doses. I paid 176 for a 5mg including delivery.

DH is back in Blighty and due home lunchtime. So I have a peaceful morning at least. I finished my smarter trousers yesterday and I’ve managed to achieve a perfect fit. So happy. I’ve made them in a particularly nasty linen look fabric to test my adjustments thinking they’d be binned but now I’m going to have to wear them. Base size 2!!!! With extra width at the waist. Size 2!!!!!! My mind is blown. Why do I still feel fat today?

Have a fabulous day one and all.

BreezyPeer · 09/09/2025 08:30

Morning 🌄 everyone!
Thoughts here (in the wider family) have turned to Christmas. We sometimes go out, which seems to be the plan this year. Massive plates of food doesn't fill me with joy! I need to be less of a Grinch 🙄 xx

2025istheyeari · 09/09/2025 08:44

Hi everyone

great news @Jins, a size 2?! I don’t know such a size existed!!!

@BreezyPeer, 🤣🤣it’s September so must be almost Christmas right! I’m sure we’ll get into the festive spirit nearer Christmas. I know what you mean about food though, but they normally have a lighter dish so hopefully fish or something could be an option? We’re away this Christmas in Thailand so hopefully lovely local food.

Weighed and jabbed this morning, 2 pounds on which isn’t horrendous. Feeling much better and had a productive morning, baked a ham, used the ham stock for root vegetable and lentil soup and lentil, squash and cauliflower dhal in the slow cooker.

I've got 2 interviews , one tomorrow and one Thursday so will be focussed on getting ready for those. Eek!!

have a fab day everyone!

BreezyPeer · 09/09/2025 08:56

@2025istheyeari Thailand is the dream! We actually have a loose invitation for January but I don't think that will work because of DS college. We will probably go later in the year but . . . Rain 🌧 🌦 🌂 so no decisions made yet!

Polkadotdash · 09/09/2025 09:03

Morning all. My children are finally back at school and I’m starting back at work later today. I’m full of September depression. My eating over the past couple of days has been terrible. Resorting to comfort food and over eating. Not feeling like the MJ is curbing my appetite much. Plus I saw some pictures that a friend took over the weekend and I look pregnant and old in them (if that is even possible).

PenelopePoweringOn · 09/09/2025 09:04

Hi everyone, thanks for your words of encouragement. @Jins, I got that email too but can only assume that they had sold out by the time I looked as the prices were still a lot more than Farmeci.

Best of luck @2025istheyeari , I also have two 'interviews' this week for consultancy work, the others didn't come off - boo.

@Jins a size 2! I was a size 4 for a number of years and I thought that was tiny - late 20s until about 37. Enjoy your new trousers!!

Jins · 09/09/2025 09:06

@2025istheyeari size 2 shouldn’t exist! I’ve been googling historic clothing sizes and vanity sizing and it’s staggering. My hip measurement is 34.5”. (Forget the waist at the moment). In the late 1970s that was an 8 if you were lucky to find one but more usually a 10. I have a pair of red leopard print jeans dating from 1977 when I was 14 and weighed about 6.5 stone. They are a size 10 and they are miniature. By the 2000s that hip measurement was a 4/6. 25 years later it’s a 6 because that’s an acceptable size in the public’s eyes. There was a huge backlash in the 2000s about size zero which completely ignored the fact that it was an American size 0 or a UK4.

Sewing pattern sizes are generally based on 1950s or 1970s women’s sizing and don’t really reflect shop sizes. The size 2 I’ve just made is probably a size 6 or 8 in the shops. Saying Size 2 feels good to this ex- Lardy old bird though.

cloudjumper · 09/09/2025 09:08

Morning all! Writing from the car dealer, where I am sitting and waiting for my car to be serviced.

@2025istheyeari good luck with interviews this week. I have one tomorrow, also just said yes to progressing another opportunity I had a preliminary call about on Friday, as well as hearing back about this assessment I submitted over a week ago (turns out that the person who was meant to review was on holiday, duh).
And I got a verbal job offer on Friday! And quite a good one, so I'm quite pleased about that. Now I'm going to try and push for the others to move quickly, so that I can hopefully pick and choose...

Still Vinted-ing like mad, I'm now putting everything on there 😂I've been quite lucky so far with my purchases, only one item so far that came slightly stained, but it was priced so low that I honestly couldn't be bothered with returning and just stuck it in the wash.
I've decided to get myself a trenchcoat - any recommendations for good brands? I've never owned one!

Jins · 09/09/2025 09:25

Possibly brave - definitely foolish but these unironed beauties in nasty artificial linen look fabric in a colour I don’t wear are in the photo.

Not perfect but the next pair will be.

Aah it depends whereabouts in Thailand you go, summer is better in Koh Samui, Koh Tao etc. there is always somewhere it’s not raining!! I travelled through Thailand when I was younger and had all sorts of weather but it’s a fab place so wherever you go you’ll have an amazing time!!

@Polkadotdash oh no I’m sorry to hear this. I’ve been the same over the past few days, hopefully when you get back into the swing of things, you’ll feel much better. Sending solidarity.

@jins, go you!! Super impressed with your sewing ability, they look amazing!

oh my god @cloudjumper that’s fantastic news, I’m so pleased for you!! Re trench coats, depends what you’re looking for but have a look at damson madder, they have some cool ones! I would look on Vinted too, quite a few Burberry ones, also Max Mara. I bought a John Lewis one earlier this year which I quite like, classic but nice.

HeidiLite · 09/09/2025 10:52

ooh congrats @cloudjumper on the offer! Always good to have options.

@2025istheyeari we've done Xmas in Thailand several times, it's fabulous. But will all gather at my parents' this year, sister and I both live abroad and dad's health is not great.

On another topic, during our summer holidays in France I mentioned that many women were slim but not toned, and the ones at the gym were only doing cardio. Am in Sweden right now and totally different here - hotel gym was very busy, but all women doing free weights. And they did look much better as well. Interesting difference.

Jins · 09/09/2025 11:45

@cloudjumper congratulations on the offer. Fabulous news

Polkadotdash · 09/09/2025 11:54

@2025istheyeari thanks. September is such a funny month for delivering existential angst. It’s the whole ‘back to school’ thing, the feeling that the year is slipping by, the dread of Christmas (I hate it) and the days getting shorter. I feel like I’ve missed the whole summer with my surgery recovery thing. I’m just feeling sorry for myself 🙁

Thelittlestranger · 09/09/2025 13:55

@Polkadotdash chin up. Tomorrow is another day..

@cloudjumper congrats on the job and good luck for everyone's interviews.

I start an evening course tonight to see if it's an area I might like to train in over the next 4 years to change my job. Haven't done structured learning since I was 17 (and I didn't do much then!) so this is going to be interesting.

Just been for a run, and now eating chicken shawarma salad. No brekkie, and some kefir (🤢) mid morning.

@HeidiLite Agree. Weights make so much more difference to body shape than cardio.

MJalltheway · 09/09/2025 16:11

Fantastic news @PenelopePoweringOn , how exciting!

the turn of the season can definitely do funny things to you mentally, and it's been a very dramatic turn this year! Hope you feel more upbeat soon @Polkadotdash.
Congrats on the first job offer @cloudjumper and fingers crossed for a few more! And 🤞 for @PenelopePoweringOn as well.

looking fabulous @jins! Very svelte!

I felt GREAT in my outfit today. I've had to buy yet more clothes for work so I have something a bit warmer to wear.
I did aquafit earlier, I thought it'd work ok with my potentially-fractured foot but actually it was a lot harder than I expected and my foot is quite painful now so I'm going to have to give it a rest for a while I think. 😭

Still waiting for the GP to pull their finger out and redo the X-ray referral as a private one so I can get booked in. So frustrating!

MJalltheway · 09/09/2025 16:13

Oh forgot to say, I totally agree with the weights. I don't lift heavy weights particularly, and I LOVE cardio, but weight training sessions do build muscles! I'm just doing at-home sessions with kettlebells and dumbbells but it's made such a difference to my arms and legs.

BlueLimes · 09/09/2025 16:31

@MJalltheway glad you felt fabulous! How much do you lift? Wondering if I’m doing enough.

yay @cloudjumper and good luck @2025istheyeari
looking very svelte @Jins
Hope you feel brighter soon @Polkadotdash agree September is a funny month.
I‘m not keen on my work at the moment, might start looking at options but could semi retire in 2-3 years- not sure I want to though! I’d love to save more for DC. I‘m better with structure too.

I put on as predicted on holidays but I’m hoping will go quickly. A lot of people most be goal now? We’ve come so far 😊

Very excited for @PenelopePoweringOn too.

MJalltheway · 09/09/2025 17:58

I tend to do superset weights videos where there's no repetition of exercises - this is the one I did yesterday :

So for things like bicep curls, hammer curls etc I am using 6kg dumbbells. Squats and lunges I use 8kg dumbbells (the biggest we currently have!). Nothing particularly heavy at all! But steadily increasing. I started off just able to manage 3kg bicep curls for example. I need to invest in some more weights really.

I've been sitting on my backside the entire day - first in meetings, then 2 hours on the train. It is not comfortable if you have no padding left!

Also had my 5th interview today as well, have had 2 with the recruiter, 1 with potential boss and 2 with potential colleagues (all Teams). If invited to next round, CFO and another EVP, and those will be in person. I hope I am invited, I'm absolutely adorable in real life (but still so modest) 😂
