@whyamisuddenlygettingolder that is amazing, well done

Is it just me or are shoes being vanity sized nowadays? My feet haven’t changed since I was last measured back in school and I was a 3G or wide 36. More often than not I have to size up to 37 to accommodate the width.

I nipped into TK Maxx yesterday to pick up some cheap trainers for my hols. Started at size 37 and they were swimming on me. Moved through half sizes to 36 and they were all too big. Found a lovely pair that fitted perfectly in size 35 (2!!!!) but they were out of budget so went to the kids section. Nothing suitable. I don’t want unicorns or flashing lights on my trainers.

I've experienced this! I have been a size 7 for years but can comfortably get into a 6 or 6.5 now.

Happy Friday losers! My Oushk delivery turned up right on time, still cold and frozen packs still partly frozen. So pleased! That 5mg pen will now sit in the fridge for another month before I’ll use it for 10 weeks to do 2.5mg doses. Pen expiry is February ‘27. Still has the same amount as before including bonus dose. And then in October I’ll have 2 x 2.5mg pens arriving. I’m wondering if by the time I use them I’ll be on less than 2.5mg.

Congrats @whyamisuddenlygettingolder you deserve all the medals 🎖️🥇🥈🥉🏅

PenelopePoweringOn · 05/09/2025 13:35

Amazing @whyamisuddenlygettingolder - well done. 😃not sure why but I seem to have an extremely limited range of emojis available today but you do indeed deserve them all !!

That's good @DGonMJ . Farmeci have emailed me today asking me to fill in their monthly review form pre order, I think I will and I will order a 10mg pen.

Friends, my day of social niceites is going very well indeed. I have also seen an apartment I would like to buy, surprised me but there we have it! I haven't made an offer yet as I want to think and I've got another appointment on something else but watch this space.

cloudjumper · 05/09/2025 14:00

Oh, I really want to see that Cartier exhibition at the V&A... I know DD would love it, too, thinking I should do a girls' day out with her and go to London.

I'm having a blissfully quiet morning today - the sun is shining, DH is in the office, kids back at school, and I'm not working. I could get used to this! 😎
Alas, I've got 2 phone calls about jobs I've been applying for this afternoon - it's all happening now, as everyone is back from holiday and realising that their resource outlook isn't what it needs to be, which is obviously good news for me. No offers yet, but some might start coming in soon.

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder Great news about your BMI! I'm hoping to be able to join you very soon in the healthy range. Such a journey 😍

I've been getting lots of comments this week how well I look - I think it's because due to the lack of 'visibility' over the summer holidays and my surgery in the months before the holidays. Even the physician assistant who did my HRT review this morning said 'just need to check your weight - but I can see that it's not an issue'. I'll take that!

HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 15:02

@cloudjumper isn't it just lovely when you get comments like that? I'm still not used to when a doctor starts talking about people who are slim like me. I always go in my head: 'Slim people, here, who?'

MJalltheway · 05/09/2025 15:45

Fantastic work @whyamisuddenlygettingolder, congratulations on being a healthy BMI!

ooh an apartment @PenelopePoweringOn , we're all going to have to adjust our mental images now from a cosy cottage to either a sleek industrial loft apartment or maybe a huge, high ceiling apartment in a converted period building...
@cloudjumper that does indeed sound blissful! I've had a manic morning at work but have the afternoon off so been for a haircut and now going to just enjoy the peace for a couple of hours before kids are back.
Good luck with the jobs calls 🍀

@jins are you sure you don't want to go for unicorns? I reckon you could pull it off! I have giant feet (size 8) so no chance of me ever looking in the kids dept.
Great maintenance @HeidiLite , I think so much of it comes down to mindful eating as opposed to mindless eating. I could definitely have chomped my way through an entire pack of biscuits or big bag of crisps before MJ without it even entering my head. I still haven't eaten a single crisp or biscuit since January.

DGonMJ · 05/09/2025 16:45

@MJalltheway not a single crisp or biscuit since January! That’s incredible work!
I actively avoided crisps during the early months when I was eating clean, but then when I have had a few I’ve not enjoyed them, and so I’ve mainly ignored them. Biscuits on the other hand I’ve eaten a few, and enjoyed them but been very easily satisfied with just one. Now I’ve lowered my dose I can eat more than one, and if I eat too many I feel a bit bleurgh, but it’s a delayed reaction. So I’m having to actively restrain myself. So the ‘noise’ is back, but the post-eating suppression is still high.

meatyryvita · 05/09/2025 16:59

@cloudjumper @HeidiLite i can’t wait to have those kinds of comments! I remember years of panicking about my pending pill prescription renewal appointment. I also recall a doctor, after an internal, jiggling my stomach and telling me I needed to lose a few lbs (I was early 20’s and no, I would not stand for that these days)!

My NSV today is that I’ve only just realised that I don’t have chub rub! I don’t think I’ve had it for a while but whilst walking the dog today and having packed my wide legged jeans into my boots, I felt the tops of the jeans really flapping about. Oh the trousers I’ve lost over the years due to intense thigh shredding, the times that just walking was red hot agony due to burning, rubbing thighs.

OP posts:
HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 17:14

ooh @meatyryvita I remember clearly when I first realised my thighs were suddenly no longer getting stuck behind each other, but just gliding past. It's amazing, isn't it?

cloudjumper · 05/09/2025 21:48

Oh to be without chub rub! That’ll never happen to me, even at my thinnest ever I retain my thunderthighs 😂 But it only happens when I wear skirts without tights, so it’s manageable.

discov · 05/09/2025 21:58

No thighs rubbing is honestly one of the best gifts Mounjaro has given me!

Thelittlestranger · 05/09/2025 22:53

I have lived in shorts this summer, and not only have I had no chub rub, but my shorts have not risen between my thighs either. Such a delight.

I am definitely able to eat more rubbish on less MJ, but I don't feel any different this week than I did last week having dropped down. Yet, anyway. I'm still making conscious decisions to eat less at meal times. I haven't weighed myself since Wednesday as I'm trying not to so often. I'm amazed at no biscuits or crisps since January 🤯

I've done a lot of exercise this week, so I hope that keeps me steady. Will be interesting to see.

OH away for the weekend so dogs are in bed with me, and I'm enjoying the quiet...

I used to have to replace my jeans regularly because I's rub straight through them. I've still got large thighs so they touch (despite being BMI22) but they don't rub so they don't hurt and I can wear a skirt without any issues. I definitely don't want to go back to that, it stopped me from going for nice walks so I needed to lose weight but couldn't exercise to help lose the weight.

2025istheyeari · 06/09/2025 07:47

morning 👋🏻
Amazing, massive congratulations @whyamisuddenlygettingolder , that’s such brilliant news!!

@PenelopePoweringOn ooh that sounds so exciting, have you made a decision yet? So pleased you’ve found something that is a definite possible!! I dream of the sleek loft but with my 2, it wouldn’t stay sleek 🤣

@cloudjumper your morning sounds fab! Also so lovely getting that sort of comment. Bet you felt brilliant!
🤞🏻 on the roles, I’m finding similar, have a 2nd interview and also been invited to interview for another role next week.

I’d definitely recommend the Cartier exhibition, really loved it, some of those jewels are phenomenal and like @myladyjane I chose a tiara and took a few snaps to show DH what I fancy for Christmas 🤣.

@HeidiLite and @meatyryvita love the chub rub nsv, I’m with you, it’s fab! @tinyemmy me too, especially linen trousers!!

Have a fab weekend everyone.

tinyemmy · 06/09/2025 07:52

Fingers crossed with the interview @2025istheyeari I was searching post redundancy last year and took the first role I got. I'm tempted to look again but it's all very stressful. I hope you land something you want quickly and easily!

BreezyPeer · 06/09/2025 08:33

@meatyryvita @HeidiLite @tinyemmy nsv no more chubb rub!! I too have had to throw out otherwise perfect jeans and linen trousers! 👖 I've got genetically big thighs but I've been moving down sizes too quick for any wear this year. I wonder what will happen now?
@Thelittlestranger I am also having to consciously eat less as I move towards maintenance! It's good in a way to see that I do have some will power 🤣
Well done on the exercise! I don't know how many times I've restarted my exercise plan but today's a new day!
Anyway! Good morning 🌄 losers!
Happy Saturday, I have a party to go to this evening, hoping for less food and more dancing 💃 😀 xxx

PenelopePoweringOn · 06/09/2025 08:46

Morning. I’m seeing my final property, period, beautiful location, the cottage I always envisaged today. I will report back. The apartment is serene, but the loss of outside space is a bit of a left field consideration. The apartment is huge, as big as my house so very spacious and the management fees are very reasonable, so bargainous with tons of storage, lovely location.

I don’t think I am out of the chub rub zone yet, I do remember when it first happened to me and I was like 😱what fresh hell is this. I did survive my holiday by using some stick thing and wearing dresses which I wouldn’t have done at peak fatness.

I felt quite sad to read about the Duchess of Kent yesterday, I met her twice, in 1996 and she was kind, graceful and supremely dignified. She knew all about me, a fellow Yorkshire girl a long way from home. When I met her the second time, some month’s later she recalled our first meeting, imagine how many people she must have met with in between. She was a very decent human being.

Best of luck @2025istheyeari . I’m awaiting outcomes atm, the longer it takes the more I doubt my success tbh.

MJalltheway · 06/09/2025 10:38

Good luck with the final viewing @PenelopePoweringOn it sounds idyllic.
The strangest thing this morning, I weighed myself, as I do most days and I'm 0.6kg down on yesterday!! Can't possibly be a real loss, I did it a few times to make sure but always came out the same. All the same, I'm taking it because it tips me over the 4 stone lost mark!
I only have 3 goals left to hit now on my list I made months ago - 30kg lost (71kg), final goal (70kg) and halving original metabolic age on scale (40 years).

I strapped up my foot yesterday for clubbercise and did everything low impact and it worked well, foot felt fine and very stable. I've kept the strapping on for now. And have done my weights session this morning - upper body only. It's such a new and novel thing to do as much exercise as I currently do, I'm a bit terrified if I have an enforced stop for a few weeks, I somehow think I'm going to go back to being really unfit and fat again. Need to learn to relax about it and just absorb it as part of my lifestyle now but I'm not quite there psychologically.

MJalltheway · 06/09/2025 10:42

Oh, I'm also considering changing my final goal as I know a lot of you have also done! I still have such a belly! I can't believe that the remaining 6 kg I have to lose will make much difference to it. I might aim for something in the 60s instead but will see how I feel when I get there

Jins · 06/09/2025 11:30

Morning all! I almost slept round the clock last night - the cats were not impressed but I’ve been so tired the last few days and I must have needed it.

Jab day today and by eye there looks to be enough left for two more doses. This pen is now well out of date 🤣. I went a bit mad with food yesterday, ate normally all day then chugged a load of chocolate ice cream in the evening which inevitably led to a bit of a hunt for sweet stuff. I really can’t process sugars but don’t ever remember.

Made a cami top yesterday from a new pattern. Unimpressed that I fit into measurements for a size 14 and even more unimpressed that it was too tight across the bust but with unflattering gaping at the neckline. Size 14 was my starting point 15kg ago and nowadays it’s a 10/12 so that designer hasn’t filled me with joy.

Good luck with viewings, job searches, leisure activities and life in general. Look how far we’ve all come since January!

myladyjane · 06/09/2025 11:59

@2025istheyeari so pleased you enjoyed. It’s so sparkly!

@PenelopePoweringOn good luck with today.

as heavy thighed peasant stock, chub rub has always been a constant for me at all but my lowest weight. Even now over 3.5 stone down, my upper thighs are still roughly the same as when I started. So I doubt I will get to say goodbye entirely but it’s a bit better certainly.

good day yesterday. My hair looks loads better - it’s quite a bit shorter which looks good with a slimmer face and fewer chins (although a bit of turkey neck) and my lovely hairdresser was great re the thinning. She said whilst she agrees it’s thinner, it’s still not thin and there are baby hairs coming through. I didn’t mention the mj but she said I’d clearly lost weight. Then I did my chores, cocooned and read all afternoon, my period started and I got an early night and a full nights sleep. Today I’d already booked a day of reading so I think I may not even get dressed.

have a super day all.

PenelopePoweringOn · 06/09/2025 12:07

Well done @MJalltheway , another significant milestone reached!

I've lost this morning too, 84kg, total loss 20.1kg, BMI 29.1 (from 36). I'm due to 💉tomorrow but I have still got really bad one sided stomach ache. I am sure it is constipation it is lower down than anything else but it was higher up yesterday, bit of pain behind my ribs at times. I'll probably delay if it hasn't completely resolved.

@myladyjane sounds good and your day 😍.

Thelittlestranger · 06/09/2025 12:23

Absolutely exhausted today, so may take a leaf from your book @myladyjane and cocoon myself tomorrow. Currently have NO plans. Today is busier than I would have liked, but I'm tempted to go and have a nap before starting on the afternoon. I blame a busy week, a crap sleep after the two lager tops after my swim, and all that exercise. All fun though 🤣

@MJalltheway I get like that if I can't exercise. Im my head everything starts wobbling again. My shoulder still isn't back to normal after hurting it while away 6 weeks ago and I swear the loss of muscle definition is noticeable.
