I did my first 7.5mg down from 10mg last week, and technically it’s due again today. I was hoping to start stretching them out to 10 days in between, but I’ve wanted to eat so much rubbish the past few days I don’t think I can last any longer. I am disappointed in myself really as I’ve let the food noise control me exactly the same way it used to pre-Mounjaro.

I’m not losing any more weight now (unless I can magically shift these last 2lbs to get to my actual goal weight but I’m really not precious about it!) so feel like I can buy some decent clothes now. I’ve ordered a new posh rain coat for dog walking which I’m excited about! I am trying to be really intentional with what I buy, and make sure I buy things I really love and will get the wear out of. Mainly because I don’t have loads of cash to spend on clothes, but also because I want to be mindful of buying stuff for the sake of it just because I’m now slim and can wear it.

I mostly live in dog walking attire anyway so think I’m better off investing in some warm practical clothes more than anything else! Which is very boring and sensible of me 😄

M&S have some well-priced basics at the moment. I’m living in their jeans as I move done sizes and got some basic straight leg chinos at the weekend too.

Their wide-legged jeans are super flattering!

Agree - M&S merino wool jumper for £35 is a bargain, shame they don’t have all the colours in my size!

myladyjane · 04/09/2025 20:47

For wide legged jeans, I love my halara ones and loads crop up on vinted bnwt because sending them back is such a ball ache.

I had to get a coat today as I don’t have a casual waterproof ish autumn type coat so I got a puffa one from M&S. I have been freezing today and it looked snuggly. I also had to put a belt on my trousers but the belt was too big.

sadly I am having my hair chopped off tomorrow. It really has thinned and dulled badly in the last month or so and needs a bit of shape and maybe shine.

MJalltheway · 04/09/2025 22:35

@myladyjane how do the Halara jeans do for length? I almost always have to get long length in everything.

I'm also going for a chop tomorrow, I vary between wanting it all chopped off or sticking with my plan to grow it out for a bit. I have frizzy, curly hair so it's a pain at the best of times. I tend to grow it till I can't be arsed with the maintenance any more then have it all cut off really short and start the whole process again 😂

BreezyPeer · 04/09/2025 23:16

@meatyryvita I do love a wide legged trouser! 👖

myladyjane · 05/09/2025 04:36

@MJalltheway all I can say re length is that the short was a tiny bit too short but in an only I would notice way iyswim. I am weird in that whilst I am fairly short my legs are not so I can dither between a regular and short all the time. So I would say on that basis get a long if you are between a regular and long (I presume they have a long but I have never had occasion to look….)

2025istheyeari · 05/09/2025 06:47

Sorry, on my phone, so scanned through, will have a proper look later.

@MJalltheway hooe your foot is ok, ouch!
@DGonMJ , i bet the people you think are staring are all just in awe of how amazing you look and how well you’ve done. I think weight loss is a psychological journey as much as anything else, and our brains do weird things. I hope you’re feeling a bit better.

Another one thinking about autumn/ winter clothes. I don’t think I have many at all, a couple of pairs of barrel leg trousers I bought in Uniqlo in Japan and a few Vinted top finds but that’s it! I need to get my winter clothes out and pop those that are too big on Vinted, a job for next week I think!

I’m torn about keeping the things I love which are too big. I have a leopard skin faux fur jacket which was always too small but now a bit big but keeping it!

Busy week here with interviews/ headhunter chats and a virtual photo shoot for my Linked in profile ( cringe, it was free as part of my outplacement support so thought I may as well!) bit was hilarious but actually for the first time in my adult life I’m really pleased with the photo, still don’t think it looks like me but I guess that will come! I’ve got a second interview for one of the roles I’m really interested in so 🤞🏻.

I've also finally lost some weight!!!

sw 16 3 1/2
cw 10 11 1/2
total loss 5 1/2 stone 🎉
BMI 23

just want lose 4 1/2 pounds to get to 10 1/2 stone.

I’m off to London today to the Cartier exhibition at the V&A and to see Devil Wears Prada, can’t wait!
Happy weekend lovely losers!

MJalltheway · 05/09/2025 06:59

What a fabulous day planned @2025istheyeari , enjoy!

weigh in and jab day today.
SW 101kg
CW 76kg
GW 70kg
loss this week 0.7kg
Very happy with that given the 2 curries and birthday brownies this week.

I did some googling about stress fractures (not that I know, without an X-ray!) and rest and possibly a boot seem to be what's needed. So now in a dilemma about my exercise regime. I do 2 very high impact classes a week, one of which is tonight. It's my favourite thing to do 😭
I can't wait for a month to get an X-ray so I'm going to see if I can book and pay for a private one instead, it's around £100 which I'm happy to pay. Couple of calls to make today to see if I can get that sorted. So bizarre that if it was down to an accident, I could have an X-ray today!

PenelopePoweringOn · 05/09/2025 07:22

Good morning everyone, you’ve been busy @2025istheyeari and yes it sounds like a fabulous day!

@MJalltheway your overall loss is very impressive isn’t it 🏆. That is a long time to wait for an xray, postcode lottery too as I know that wouldn’t be the case here. When I left corporate for public sector I bought Beneden healthcare for me and DC, low cost healthcare that steps in when the nhs can’t respond. I’ve never had to use it as the system is great where I live but it gives me a bit of comfort. You can see a UK based GP virtually within 24 hours too, again never used it because my GP would always see us same day if it was urgent. I’m not sure how it would respond to your situation but it might be worth a look. £16 a month pp from memory.

A day of socialising here, I’m out for coffee at 9, lunch with a friend and tea and cake with an old colleague at 4. Then shopping and a pub dinner with DC2 tonight, oh plus a house viewing!

PenelopePoweringOn · 05/09/2025 07:32

I’ve just looked at Beneden @MJalltheway , it steps in after three weeks for diagnostics, so not much quicker. Five weeks for surgery.

MJalltheway · 05/09/2025 07:37

Thanks @PenelopePoweringOn , worth knowing for the future. We have private medical cover through DH's work at the moment but the cost of the excess is more than the cost of a private X-ray so I'm just going to pay for this one. Lucky we can afford it. The doctor also told me it would take 2-3 weeks to get the results so that's 6 weeks of potentially making things worse or preventing healing! Bonkers.

BreezyPeer · 05/09/2025 07:41

Good 🌄 morning losers!
Happy Friday 😊
I, for one, am so glad I've nearly made it through my first week back to work.
Got a fairly quiet weekend planned with a party Saturday Night. Might pop over to see my parents at some point ( or look at next week's work diary for when I will be in the vicinity)
Missed my pilates class this week for a meal out! So need to get some work outs in over the weekend.
@PenelopePoweringOn that sounds like a brilliant day. Were either of yesterday's houses any good? Might have missed an update sorry.
@MJalltheway what a fabulous loss! Glad to see you losing the final bit before goal. Inspiring me!
What a pain (see what I did there!) about your foot. Hope you get the xray sorted soon.
@2025istheyeari that also sounds like a lovely day. Its ages since I went to London. Might make that our October trip instead of abroad 🤔 something to think about.

myladyjane · 05/09/2025 07:45

Ohh some fancy plans here

@MJallthewaygood luck re foot.

@2025istheyeari Cartier exhibition is fab, enjoy. So sparkly - we all picked our favourite tiara.

@PenelopePoweringOn your day of socialising sounds pretty full on fun! You are a whirling dervish woman.

limping to the end of the week here. Thankfully just need to do a couple of hours this morning then done for the day although this week has been full on. Bloody period pain is waking me up (no actual period yet - thanks peri) and I’ve definitely been less able to roll with the punches this week. Proof yet again that god is indeed a man. However I have a super lovely chilled and private afternoon planned so once my hair is done and I’ve done a coupe of chores I am retreating into a restorative cocoon and I cannot wait Bear

not weighing today due to period but was down a couple of lb mid week. jabbed 8.5ish last night so let’s see if all the side effects ease.

PenelopePoweringOn · 05/09/2025 07:50

That’s a ridiculous wait time @MJalltheway isn’t it. Pleased you have other options too!

Well done for getting through the week @BreezyPeer 🥳. My appointment yesterday was cancelled by the agent. Hopefully I’ll see that one tomorrow, have another one to see today. I’m reaching capacity tbh. I think I’ll be deciding to rent next week if I haven’t had an offer accepted.

@myladyjane enjoy your afternoon, sounds blissful. I know 😀, only last week I had a conversation with my eldest about how it’s ok to say no to invites after listening to them moan about being tired and not wanting to go out for the third time that day!

discov · 05/09/2025 07:55

@2025istheyeari congrats on the loss! And the second interviews 🤞🏻 Your day in London sounds fab, I am very jealous!!

@MJalltheway ooh sorry I think I have missed your posts about your injury!! £100 for a private x-Ray is way cheaper than I imagined it would be. I’d probably go down that same route too just for peace of mind, as it sounds like a hell of a long wait otherwise.

We have nothing planned this weekend but dd needs a big rest after starting secondary school on Wednesday. She has loved it but is absolutely shattered, so I said we can just chill as much as she needs. Enjoy your weekend plans everyone!

Jins · 05/09/2025 08:07

Up early today to sort the menagerie out as DH is away until Tuesday and I’m enjoying the calm start to the day. Only spoiled by the recycling collection taking place unusually early.

Second maintenance weigh in and I’ve lost a pound taking me to 8st 12.5 or 56.5kg. It took me weeks and weeks to lose that final pound to get to goal and now that it’s not crucial I’m losing again. Typical! BMI is now 22.1 which puts me in very difficult territory for a provider switch but I don’t need to worry about that until the end of the year.

@MJalltheway I’ve had a couple of stress fractures in my feet. They happened at a busy time when work was intense, kids were young and time was poor so I got DH to strap it up with rip rap and carried on. Obviously he wouldn’t have x-rayed it for me as that would have been highly unethical 😆 but it was a tiny fracture, almost a shadow, on the third metatarsal. I wouldn’t bother getting a private x-Ray personally, just get some heavyweight cohesive bandage and strap it up to reduce movement, maybe miss activities that involve jumping and you’ll be surprised how quickly it heals.

I do not share the love for wide legged trousers based on my recent experience of trying some on. I suspected they’d look awful on me but I saw loads of chic women wearing them on my holidays and had a bit of FOMO. The mirror did not lie, they looked terrible and the lads laughed out loud. 😢

HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 08:16

@2025istheyeari I'm sure you look fabulous on your LinkedIn photos! And weight discrimination is real, so our chances on job market go up significantly when slim.

@MJalltheway definitely get it checked if you can afford to pay, you don't want to make it worse.

2025istheyeari · 05/09/2025 08:29

Aaw thanks everyone.
Love the idea of choosing our favourite tiaras @myladyjane , stealing that 🤣. Hope you feel better soon, enjoy your lovely afternoon.

@PenelopePoweringOn sounds like your day is fab too, enjoy and really hope you find something and have an offer accepted soon, otherwise renting seems like it will take the
pressure off.

@MJalltheway that’s fantastic, well done you!

@discov aah so pleased dd has loved secondary, sounds like a chilled weekend is exactly what’s needed!!

@Jins enjoy your peaceful weekend!

@BreezyPeer well done for getting through the week!! London is a fab place with teens isn’t it, so much to see and do!

@HeidiLite hows the recovery going and how was your next gym session?

HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 08:40

my maintenance is going well, very happy with it. Sitting around 57 kilos which gives me a BMI of about 20.5. Hasn't required much effort. I am mindful that I take smaller portions to start with and then check if I am actually still hungy. I have some occasional snacks, but I can have just one cookie and be done with it - before MJ, I would have gone back for 2nds, 3rds and 15ths.

HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 08:52

@2025istheyeari gym was better, ab track still very challenging but much more comfortable with rest of the exercises.

Jins · 05/09/2025 08:59

Is it just me or are shoes being vanity sized nowadays? My feet haven’t changed since I was last measured back in school and I was a 3G or wide 36. More often than not I have to size up to 37 to accommodate the width.

I nipped into TK Maxx yesterday to pick up some cheap trainers for my hols. Started at size 37 and they were swimming on me. Moved through half sizes to 36 and they were all too big. Found a lovely pair that fitted perfectly in size 35 (2!!!!) but they were out of budget so went to the kids section. Nothing suitable. I don’t want unicorns or flashing lights on my trainers.

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 05/09/2025 09:59

My BMI is finally 25 🎉🎉🎉 In January it was 37! I am incredibly emotional about it, I feel like myself again in so many ways.

@Jins at my heaviest I actually went up a shoe size, and am now back to my normal size - so maybe your feet really have just slimmed a lot!

Jins · 05/09/2025 10:08

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder they have slimmed in that sandals don’t rub as much but they are still the same length.

Congratulations on reaching a huge milestone. It feels so good doesn’t it?

HeidiLite · 05/09/2025 10:16

@Jins my feet have definitely changed, so many of my shoes are now too big for me.
But some brands are crazy sized as well.

Zempy · 05/09/2025 11:23

Yeah some of my shoes are too big now. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll Vint them!
