Made my decision to switch to Wegovy. Waiting on consultation for it. Am I the only one switching after the price hike?

myladyjane · 03/09/2025 18:50

Yo

hope good day to all. Good luck with interviews everyone who has one.

thankfully side effects fine today but period definitely looming. Today I have just wanted carbs but at least have done carbs and protein and not cried.

I got a helpful response from pharmulous. As long as I can show evidence of pens/weight they will take me on after I’ve used up my 3 10mg pens and happy to talk about where to start. Also happy for me to be zen re where I maintain. Came back fully and swiftly so very much thinking of them as a maintenance option.

MJalltheway · 03/09/2025 20:30

had second curry of the week, not what I would have picked but never mind! I ordered 2 starters and ate half of each, feeling very full now.
DDs had a mixed day, quite sad because MIL didn't come over in the end, but she had a lovely time with her sister and we've played lots of board games which she loves. Tricky age, 15. @Cabinfever20 can't believe your eldest is 48! I'm 51 so not far off that 😆

Voy have finally confirmed prices, 10mg will be £279 which is definitely not the worst I've seen. I have got pens in the fridge from Voy, lotus and one from juniper on the way so I won't need to order for a while anyway.

HeidiLite · 03/09/2025 21:20

We shared dinner ideas here at some point, did this one tonight. Upped the spices though, what do you even mean 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala? That's not how Indian cooking works.
thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/salmon-and-spinach-curry/

Thelittlestranger · 03/09/2025 21:46

Yes, it was me who asked for dinner inspo. That looks tasty. I'm the 'shake the spice jar' type measurer...

Another smoothie packed for tomorrow, less protein powder this time, and some egg, gammon and a tomato for lunch. Think next week I'm going to cook some salmon and broccoli for some easy lunches...

Good luck on the interviews. Well done on staying away from the scales @SteveHarringtonsHair

@DGonMJ I'm happy to pay £15 per month if it means I can go back on at any time. I'm hoping I won't need to do it within a year - but who knows what is going to happen. I've never managed to maintain for a long time, so...

PenelopePoweringOn · 04/09/2025 06:37

Morning everyone, so many of us with interviews on the horizon. Good luck to all. I had an unexpected development yesterday, a last minute invite to a meeting from someone who had heard that I was leaving my role and had an 18 month piece of work fairly closely related to my PhD. This would absolutely not be semi-retirement. Anyway, I caught a train and went to meet them, got home at 9pm, knackered. Interesting work, but very full time and quite a bit of travel - two nights away each week. I will await to hear. Interview today and then two separate meetings with different organisations next week. I'll need to decide what I want I guess if I have a choice. My head is a bit fried!

That sounds like a sensible approach to maintenance @Jins although I am off Oushk as a business right now. I'm going to order from Farmeci again I think, 10mg is £259.

Pleased you're feeling better @myladyjane .

@Polkadotdash I haven't thought about switching tbh. I feel like I will be stopping once I've worked through the pens in my fridge which will potentially get me to Xmas if I don't need to increase my dose.

I realised earlier that feeling like I wanted to wee constantly yesterday was probably my hormonal bloat reducing. I think I was right, I am at 13st 3.4lbs/84.2kg this morning. Lowest I've recorded in nutracheck, but I was definitely here two weeks ago. That's approx 9lbs or 4kg in a month which is a bit of a surprise as it didn't feel like I'd lost much recently with all the 💃faffing about on the scales.

I'm trying to fit in two viewings today if I can. Wish me luck!

Very disappointed after a 2lb loss earlier in the week. This plateau never ends!
I ate out twice this week so that is probably why. Next week's socialising is less food focused so hoping that makes a difference 🙏
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx

BreezyPeer · 04/09/2025 07:02

@PenelopePoweringOn well done on your loss this month
It's good to have options and lots of interviews!
I have my fingers crossed 🤞 for your viewings. Let's hope one of them is perfect ( and no dodgy covenants!)

@Thelittlestranger Good ideas for lunches there! More protein at times other than my evening meal is something I need to work on.

@HeidiLite thank you for the recipe. I asked copilot for some protein rich packable lunches for DS as he will be in college in the morning and training in the afternoon ( and the college canteen is 'rubbish, expensive and I'm still hungry!' 🤣) We will be trying them out in the next couple of weeks so if any of them are any good I will share.

Happy Thursday everyone xxx

HeidiLite · 04/09/2025 08:11

@BreezyPeer plateaus are annoying, but look at your goal adjustments - you probably never thought you will get down to your current weight.
I know I didn't. I thought that oh if I could only lose like 10 kilos..and am now the slimmest I've been in my adult life.

Quite looking forward to some reunions I have coming up! Actually thinking about it, I think I weighed about this much in high school. However, I did absolutely 0 sports, so there was not a muscle to be found on me - meaning I am now significantly smaller than I was then. Body composition really makes a huge difference.

BreezyPeer · 04/09/2025 08:14

@HeidiLite you are completely right! I am at my 'never thought I'd get there' goal and I'm just trying to give myself a buffer now.
Need to get into some good routines. Especially with my strength training 💪 you have inspired me! Xx

Jins · 04/09/2025 08:22

@PenelopePoweringOn I’m off Oushk as well but I’m a bit stuck at the moment. I’ve got 3 10mg pens in the fridge which should officially last 12 weeks but will actually last 30. I’m looking at other maintenance providers for a switch and will start contacting a few in October/November. I’m on 5mg at the moment and still losing slowly so I think 2.5mg or less will be fine but I’m going to use Oushk’s flexi plan until I actually need to start buying new pens.

So many interviews going on at the moment. Good luck to all who are looking to change. Funnily enough I was approached yesterday with an offer of consultancy work but even though the money would be extremely useful I’ve said no. I’m enjoying retirement far too much. 🤣

DH is off on a cycling holiday with mates this afternoon. I can’t remember where they are going but it involves a ferry. I’m looking forward to 5 days of me time, the first task being to go through my wardrobe again!!! There’s an awful lot in there that doesn’t get worn so I need to be heartless and get what I can on Vinted.

HeidiLite · 04/09/2025 08:29

Mornings are getting chilly here, I need to unpack my winter clothes. Not only because I need some warmer clothes, but also to start uploading all too big stuff to Vinted.

Zempy · 04/09/2025 08:30

Good luck to everyone interviewing! I am clinging to my job until retirement, although I might have a pop at one more promotion, just to increase my Final Salary Pension. I also have a related side hustle that I can do once retired, but it’s very ad hoc legal work that’s prone to cancellation when parties settle last minute, so pretty unreliable.

Is anyone else getting nervous about selling nice clothes that are just a bit too big? I have some really great trousers in size 12 that I really should Vint, but I keep thinking I will be livid if I gain weight and don’t have them. It’s quite a negative mind set, but to be fair, it’s based on decades of me losing and then regaining weight.

meatyryvita · 04/09/2025 08:34

@Polkadotdash I’ve made the switch and will do my first Wegovy jab next week. SheMed have respected my request to go on a comparable dose so we’ll see how that goes.

@BreezyPeer i bloody hate plateaus! I’ve just finished my 5 week one (I hope) with finally getting a new number this morning. I tell myself that on any other diet I’d have given in and undone all my hard work my now.

SW 15.10
CW 11.9.8
GW 9.10

Finally broke my plateau and have finally hit the four stones lost marker!

Didnt feel hopeful about my chances this morning as had a very late night due to a work dinner and knew I was dehydrated. Maybe it will bite back next week, who knows!

Have a great day losers!

HeidiLite · 04/09/2025 08:39

@Zempy I know what you mean - am kicking myself as got rid of some stuff that was too small and would now fit just fine. If you have the space, keeping a couple of favourite items would make sense.
Although I do hope that with MJ and the new drugs coming, this is the last time we need to lose weight.

Jins · 04/09/2025 09:05

@zempy I have a compression packing cube in the top of my wardrobe solely for clothes I love that don’t fit. In general they are clothes that are too small but I’ve put a few things in recently that are slightly too big. I don’t want to need them but they’re there in case and I’ve told myself that they will only ever be a short term solution to a temporary blip.

Cheeky weigh in this morning and I’m down to 8st 12.8 so the plateau I had above goal is over. I’m just going to see where I end up at the moment - there’s still plenty of fat on my stomach - but don’t want to go too low. My happy weight was always 8st 5 but I was in my forties then and I’m definitely taking action long before I reach that.

DGonMJ · 04/09/2025 09:44

Morning losers! Am also thinking about the seasonal wardrobe change. So many trousers are now too big. I’ve got my ‘small 14’ Gap cigarette trousers on today and have put a belt on to hitch them up higher but the waist is now gathered and so they’re not hanging right but I have a t-shirt tucked at the front and hanging over at the back.

I’m feeling quite self-conscious of my weight loss this week. I feel like people who have known me for a while are staring at me and I wonder if they think I look gaunt. The work toilet mirrors are so unflattering, I’ve always looked terrible in them whether I’m 20kg heavier or not. But I really like living in my body at this size, I feel so much lighter, I’m not out of breath walking up hill or up the stairs. I can wear (the right size) clothes and they hang right now, I’m in proportion, no longer have ‘short torso’ from too much fat sitting high on my hips. I hope the ‘staring’ is all in my head and because I’m pre-menstrual and feeling vulnerable this week. It’s weird to feel insecure about being too thin.

cloudjumper · 04/09/2025 11:04

I’m with you all in the wardrobe worries. The big clear out was great, but I’m definitely hanging on to a few items that are now slightly too big. Mostly stuff that I only wear at home anyway, so no big deal, I reckon 😆
I need belts and, most desperately, new bras! I think I need to get myself measured, but can’t be asked to drag myself into town for that. And bras are so expensive…
And the weather made me realise that I also need a new raincoat ☔️

Jins · 04/09/2025 11:38

Originating as I do from the other city known for not wearing coats (although that’s changing nowadays) I don’t actually own a raincoat. The only coat I possess is a long black overcoat which I’ve had for nearly 40 years and is solely for funerals. DH makes up for my lack of coats by owning many, most of which can be seen from space, all bought from specialist outdoors stores. Coupled with an umbrella phobia (honestly) I tend to get wet quite often.

I’ve given up on bought bras. I bought one that fitted properly but had hideous moulded cups and another that nearly fits but was a TK Maxx bargain and I’ve worn them for a couple of hours each. I’m a B point 5 cup so I’m going to carry on with bralettes which are more forgiving to armpit fat.

Wardrobe sorting has commenced. Haven’t found anything to sell.

BreezyPeer · 04/09/2025 12:59

@cloudjumper @DGonMJ @Jins I have done such a thorough job of sorting my wardrobe I have barely anything left!
I thought the drawers were looking bare so I went to put some laundry on. . . ONE lousy load . . . Thats all there is!!
I really need some new trousers 👖 I have one pair of jeans and two pairs of other trousers- capsule wardrobes be damned! That is not enough trousers 🤣🤣🤣

Jins · 04/09/2025 13:13

I hear you on the trousers @BreezyPeer. I am living in my flowy festival trousers which are nominally size 10 but I also wore them over two stone ago. I’ve got a pair of loose linen trousers that I can just about get away with, a pair of slightly too big jeans and a smartish pair of black trousers which fit quite well. Everything else is now too big and I’ve got a pile to try to take in.

I’m ok for tops. Most of them are sleeveless and look fine oversized. A couple of smarter sleeved tops look too big but I’m using some purpose designed clips to gather the back a bit. Photo below is one of them.

I don’t wear skirts very often so they aren’t a priority but all my dresses need work. Luckily they are summer ones and after we’ve been to Malta I won’t need them for a while.

January Starters - Thread 11!
Polkadotdash · 04/09/2025 13:14

@meatyryvita let me know how you get on with the switch to Wegovy. I’m just putting my request in today. I won’t be on it though until the end of Sept after the 7 day break.

And I’m Vinted -ing like mad at the moment. Buying and selling. But there are so many users out there who just don’t bother to ship stuff. It’s driving me insane. I ship same day or next because I want to cash asap. But others can’t be arsed. I don’t understand why they are selling if they can’t be bothered to post the bloody stuff! And they don’t respond to messages asking when they might be able to ship, since I bought something maybe 5 days ago. Grrrrr.

Zempy · 04/09/2025 16:53

Oushk just emailed to confirm they are sending me two x 15mg pens on Saturday. Phew!!!

I now have enough of a stockpile to see me into the New Year.

I decided to go up to 12.5mg for one week just to see how it feels and have one last blast of high suppression before I start maintaining properly with lower doses/longer gaps.

I am off work next week, just doing my side hustle remotely, so if I get side effects it won’t really matter.

I really would like to see my weight starting with an 8 and am so close now…

Re Vinted @polkadotdashyes, I have had two items not sent this week. TBH with my addiction I was secretly relieved!

MJalltheway · 04/09/2025 19:22

my Juniper pen arrived today, in a suspiciously large box. Had no idea I'd also get a set of scales!!! ⚖️
I've already got 2 sets 😂

Also had to nip to the docs cos I have a painful lump on one foot. She thought it might be a stress fracture! What I do with that, I've no idea. Can't get an X-ray for a month.

joining the wardrobe purge (again) here too. I didn't go through any colder weather stuff before, I thought it'd be basically ok if oversized. but have now found it just looks a bit daft.
oh ALSO two people commented at work today! One just said I'm looking slender and the other one literally did a full on double take and said what on earth have you been doing, there's only half of you there! 😂😂

M&S have some well-priced basics at the moment. I’m living in their jeans as I move done sizes and got some basic straight leg chinos at the weekend too.

Their wide-legged jeans are super flattering!
